...of your boyfriend with his tongue down another girl's throat!
Riley is torn when her ex, Adam, tells her he wants to get back together. She’s not sure if she’s over him when she receives the text. Telling her he loves her. Telling her he can fix everything. Her friend Kim puts her straight and has a suggestion that will cheer her up.
Should Riley reconsider Adam or follow her friend’s advice?
Things are looking up until an incident makes her feel ashamed and embarrassed as people look on in disgust. What will they think? It’s only when Ryan, someone she used to crush on years ago, turns up, that she feels better about herself. A crush that only intensifies when she sees him sporting a cop’s uniform.
You’ll love this older man in uniform, instalove, hot and steamy romance because it will leave you fully satisfied after reading. Comes with HEA and No Cliffhangers!
Poor Riley sees pictures of her boyfriend cheating on her on Facebook, then while doing retail therapy she gets caught accidentally shoplifting. Things begin to look up when the police officer who shows up at the mall to investigate turns out to be the older brother of one of Riley's old high school friend. Ryan can't believe how attractive Riley is now and as he is giving her a ride home he invites her to be his plus one to an after wedding party. Riley declines, but later she accepts on the advice of her friend, however a misunderstanding at the party results in a split. You will have to read the story to see if Ryan and Riley can reconcile. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Riley just broke up with her cheating boyfriend of 2 years and goes out for retail therapy. When she gets called back into work she accidentally leaves the store without paying for the scarf she had tried on and the security guard stops her and calls the police. Officer Ryan, her high school friend’s older brother, arrives and talks the security guard out of charging her. They go out for coffee and she turns him down at first but later follows a friend’s advice and accepts a date with him to a wedding reception. They flirt and kiss but when she finds out that it is his ex-wife’s wedding she abruptly leaves thinking he is a cheater like her ex. Will Ryan and Riley talk and can he clear up the false assumptions that she made?
I enjoyed this short story where Riley had to learn to trust again and realize not all men were like her cheating ex. The epilogue was a great ending for their story. I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is another book in the To Protect and Serve series. In this book, Riley has broken up with her boyfriend Adam and he is harassing her wanting her back. A friend suggests she leave work early and go shopping to take her mind off of things. When she is at the mall, she gets a frantic phone call that she is needed back at work, so she flees the store, only to be accused of shoplifting. Ryan is the police officer that responds to the call and Riley is shocked to see he is her high school best friend's brother. Riley always had a crush on Ryan and when he asks her out, she agrees, but she thinks he might have other motives. I really liked this book. I like Ryan, i thought he was a good guy and was really interested in Riley. I understand that Riley just got out of a bad relationship and is insecure and unsure if she can trust Ryan. Good one.
The writing style is so bad. Grammar and spelling mistakes throughout. The author doesn’t really use contractions so the dialogue comes across stiff and formal. Strange phrasing used throughout. He invites her to an “after wedding party”…isn’t that a reception? She says her ex is blaming her for his “misdemeanors” instead of misbehavior. She switches from present to past tense in the same sentence! They h comes across as immature and unintelligent. She flies off the handle and jumps to conclusions so quickly it was hard to follow. Both characters came across as creepy too. She asks him the dress code for the wedding party 🙄 and he says “be sexy”. I don’t know…this was just an awkward and uncomfortable read.
A short and sexy read. It’s true that crime doesn’t pay but If the officer that arrests you is Ryan then you wouldn’t mind so much! Lol. Ryan is Riley’s school friends brother and a sexy cop. It’s a quick insta attraction hot story, I liked it as I am a fan of Nicoles books. Hope to enjoy more quickies soon.
I enjoyed the meet for these two. Her state of mind following her last break-up made it a challenge for this couple’s progression. This officer series of shorts is coming along nicely. I received an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
When Riley has a bad day it just seems to get worse until Ryan walks in. It was live at first sight , they didn’t admit it right away, but there was a very happy ending.
