I was first indoctrinated into the romance genre by my babysitter who watched hours upon hours of daytime soap operas. I harbored many inappropriate crushes on fictional characters such as John Black from “Days of Our Lives,” Orry Main from the min-series “North & South,” and Edward Fairfax Rochester from Jane Eyre. I am still in love with Davy Jones from The Monkees.

I currently live in the Southwest with my husband, tiny four-year-old terror, and a tuxedo cat with a limp. When I'm not swooning over book boyfriends or dreaming up romances, I can be found educating the youth of America. Or eating tacos

I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first but I still enjoyed it a lot! The secretary of education was such a douchebag and highly inappropriate ordering the First Lady around. I know Georgie’s issue was education, but I couldn’t understand why she was letting him walk all over her. And there was just a lot of pouting and non communication that I could have done without. But it was still hot and sweet and a good conclusion to this story! A good addition to the political romance trope!

First off, yes you must read Presidential Bargain first. NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS. Now, that's out of the way and you've read book one, you'll want to read book 2. Although I warned that there was a 'sorta' cliff depending on whether or not you took into account the epilogue, book two picks up right where one left off and prepare to hit the ground running.

What I have learned with debut authors that I enjoy their first release, they improve with writing and gain their stride in the voice of their storytelling. Ms. Gallo didn't let me down. The in-depth connection to the characters was strengthened in Capital Promises. You got more understand of what was driving the MC as they tackle the hurdles of Washington DC. However, Jameson did not lose his 'damn jerk' hero status. And Georgie strengthening as a female lead to show women don't have to bulldoze to have power. The story was well paced and gave the reader what I would say was the best HEA the characters could have.

If you love a story with something you can sink your teeth into without feeling preached at or drowned in details, the duet by Ms Gallo is an engaging read. I'm pleased I took a chance and expect each novel she writes will have us turning the pages wanting more. 4.5 out of 5 stars

Capital Promises is the Sequel to Presidential Bargain, so in case you were wondering, you MUST read it FIRST! Jameson & Georgie's story picks right back up so I hit the ground running. The first book is the pitfalls of campaigning to the White House, while this one is more of getting into the White House, where the traps are even more dangerous. While I do love Jameson, he made some seriously questionable douchey decisions that had me wanting to junk punch him. And I love Georgie so much, but even her stubbornness at times, had me wanting to shake her, although, she definitely got the short end of the stick at times. It didn't change the fact that I couldn't get enough, as their love was tested to the ninth degree, and while that love did win, it was taken through the paces. But the sexy times? WOW! FIERY FLAMES OF HOT HOT HOT! Rebecca Gallo's brilliant writing style is a new addiction on my list, as I couldn't get enough! She kept me on my toes, and I never saw how she ended it all coming, so I'm super excited to see what she's going to come out with next! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Capitol Promises picks up right where Bargain leaves off, an enters us into the next big chapter of Georgie and Jameson’s lives. All of their hard work has paid off and Jameson has become the next leader of the free world. It seems that their battles might be over, and he and Georgie can plan their wedding and live in marital bliss, but sadly, that’s not the case. Now that they’ve come to occupy 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, it seems like things are being thrown at them from all angles and they have different goals.

Georgie wants her end of their bargain fulfilled, and she wants her choice for Secretary of Education selected. She also wants to begin planning the wedding and have her happily ever after with Jameson. For him, he’d rather settle into life in the Oval Office and find someone less slimy than the man Georgie has picked for his Cabinet. Their disagreements paired with different schedules requiring them to be apart tries to lead them to disaster. Rather than working as a united front, the stress and solitude of their jobs threaten to tear them apart and run far away from each other.

Promises had my gut in a knot almost from beginning to end. While I loved the moments Georgie and Jameson connected and got on the same page, my heart ached for their differences. I flew through the pages so I can find out if they’d make it and have a happy life together as well as enjoy the fruits of their labor and bask in all of their success.

Gallo did a wonderful job with all the political insights, the fictional aspect of a tall, dark, and sexy president, and the sizzling chemistry between him and Georgie behind closed doors. I feel like I was not only completely enthralled by this pair, but also educated on the dynamic of the first couple. Jameson and Georgie were certainly a powerhouse duo who owned every room they entered.

Walking away from this journey, I was not only inspired to return to my own character, but also in need of a trip to my nation’s capital and really soak in that patriotic pride.

This will not be the last of Gallo’s books I read. I’m happy to say I’m hooked on her style. If you’re looking for a dramatic and sensual duet, go meet Jameson and Georgie in Presidential Promises!

Rocky but sweet ending

Love love loved Georgie and Jameson’s story!!! I could definitely go for a third or fourth book about them. 😉 The honesty that was shown to certain events in this book, as with the first book, make me love them even more. Can’t wait to find more from Ms. Gallo.

Loved the conclusion to Jameson and Georgie's story, which we first started in Presidential Bargain. This one delves into the politics more, and especially the ways success, power, and ambition can tear a couple apart. I appreciated that, with all the sub plot of political machinations, the real problem between them was a lack of communication. It was a very adult, realistic way of approaching the story, and that was so refreshing. Again, it felt like a bit more reflection was warranted in some spots, but overall I loved this one. I can't wait for more from this author!

I loved every moment of this amazing book! The characters come back after book one, Presidential Bargain, and we see what life is going to be like for Georgie and Jamison. It has its ups and downs but in the end both know what’s important in their lives. New author Revecca Gallow shows us in her second book that she really knows how to write humor, some angst and steamy sexy times. She also does her homework, you can tell she has researched to make sure she gets facts about the presidency etc. as accurate as she can. You will not be disappointed with this book.
If you have not read Presidential Bargain you really should before starting this book. It will be worth it I promise.

Capitol Promises (The Presidential Promises Duet) part 2. Although I have read this book first, no where did tell me this was book 2... ah well, I am working backwards, as I have just started Presidential Bargain, which is part 1.. So beware.
Loved this storyline, gull of swings and r-a-b's and a lot of growing up. Couldn't put it down, it kept me well entertained, its well written, and totally engrossing, filled with arguments, back stabbing, jealousy, loyalty and betrayal, and a few hot under the collar moments. Well worth any ones time reading.

~~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
After reading Presidential Bargain I wanted to read the sequel so badly. I would suggest reading Presidential Bargain first to get the most enjoyment out of this book series. Georgie and Jameson are on the brink of acquiring his dream, but what about hers? What about the man who hurt her and others so badly? When everyone around you is attacking where will Georgie turn. The man she loves is so enthralled his own dreams that he stops seeing her. What will Jameson sacrifice for Georgie or will she be the ultimate sacrifice for his dreams? I love following more of Georgie and Jameson's story. I love the heat that they bring whenever they are together. Just wished there would have been more of those moments. I did like the battle of whose dreams should be followed. I love this author and I was so glad she gave us more of Georgie and Jameson.
First off I'm going to start off saying politically inspired books are not one of my favorites but Rebecca did a great job with these two books that I couldn't get enough. I think in order to be able to fully enjoy this book you really need to read Presidential Bargain. I was hooked from book 1 and couldn't wait to see how their story was going to play out.
I absolutely loved their journey to the White House. We all know campaigning isn't easy but they have so many things thrown at them and we get to see if their love is strong enough to withstand all the curve-balls thrown at them. Not only that but her dreams start getting drowned out and she is going to need to take a stand with them but she does it in the best way. She shows that she is the perfect First Lady. Oh and lets not forget the steamy scenes. This book is just an all around enjoyable read and I can't wait to read more by Rebecca Gallo in the future!!
Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:
Another OUTSTANDING book by Rebecca Gallo! Capitol Promises is the second book after Presidential Bargain and is even more intense, angsty, full of incredible passion and irresistible romance. This story all around captured my attention and had me on edge.
Georgie is such a fantastic heroine. I hurt for her with everything she goes through but I am also amazed by the strength she possesses and Jameson is still as swoon worthy and caring and determined to do what is right for him as well as Georgie. This was such an excellent paced read that was very entertaining and gave me much insight to politics and well, everything to do with presidency..its realistic, or at least seems it, and I like that.
Capitol Promises gets a THRILLING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! If you read Presidential Bargain you do NOT want to miss Capitol Promises, I can promise you THAT!
What an amazing ending to a perfect duet and couple! Jameson and Georgie are now in the White House but that doesn’t come without a few twist and turns as they are trying to figure out their new roles within the house but also within their relationship. Rebecca Gallo does an incredible job in her writing, you feel like your walking the Shote House halls with the characters. This duet is a weekend must read!
Capitol Promises is better read after first reading Presidential Bargain.
This is a nice conclusion to the story of Jameson and Georgie.
Jameson begins his presidency as driven as ever. Trying his best to make good on his campaign promises while also keeping his promise to allow Georgie to take the lead on education reform. Jealousy can make a person do dumb things though. And when you’re the President of the United States, your attention can’t be divided. Can he keep up his drive to help shape the future of politics in the US? Or will the distractions in his personal life be too much for him to juggle?
I loved the balance Georgie brought to Jameson’s life. . .when he allowed her to. I loved how devoted Georgie was to Jameson. Though there were things Jameson did I don’t feel the President would be able to.
Capitol Promises
Rebecca Gallo
An intriguing love story set amongst political drama. Can the newly in love Georgie and Jameson survive the White House? Between rivals and sabotage their relationship is in for a baptism of fire.
Jameson is ready to live his dream and take Georgie along for the ride but is this good enough for a passionate educator?
This story continues on where Presidential Bargain left off, Rebecca Gallo’s debut novel and you need to read it first.
Rebecca Gallo has done a fantastic job to conclude Presidential Bargain with her latest Capital Promises. It is filled with suspense, combustible chemistry and a great story. I burned through the pages to find out what would happen next with Jameson and Georgie.
I cannot wait to see what Rebecca Gallo has in store for us next. I am new to her as an author, but this will not be the last I read from her.
This was book 2 in the series and a great ending to the love story of Jameson and Georgie. They both grow even more in this book and they make their dreams come true and learn sometimes those dreams aren't always what is important to them.
I actually liked the idea of this book, it had everything I wanted.
Powerful man: check✅
Age gap: check please 😋
Hot sex: check ✅
What I did not need was another cliché novel about how loving a person suddenly makes you an idiot. I mean we had a hero who was so focused and career driven he actually buys a fiancé, only for him to loose focus and give in to her demands like a f**king moron. Seriously the guy could smell bullshit on Edison and yet he let him get nominated. Initially I was angry he gave up on running for a second term, but I thought about and realized a lot of the decisions he made were with his d*ck and not his mind( if he had any at this point). So, he was probably doing us all a favor at this point by giving up.
Now our heroine on the other hand is just an ambitious self serving b**ch, and it’s like no ones sees it. She literally pushes him aside for d*ckweed Edison, but somehow still manages to justify it all in her little brain. Acting like you don’t know the man was interested, b**ch please 😒.
Do I feel like I wasted my time reading this book? NO
Will I ever reread it again? Hell No.
I know it’s sounds like I completely hated the book but I didn’t, I loved Lewis and Jenkins, but stupidity is my biggest pet peeve. Hence the minus one star.
From the moment the campaign-trail crisis erupts, Capitol Promises had me fully invested. On one side is Georgie Washington: smart, determined, and overwhelmed by the compromises she’s had to make. On the other side is Jameson Martin: the driven politician whose image is everything, except maybe his heart. They strike a deal, a public alliance built on necessity rather than affection. But of course, hearts don’t always stay cleanly out of politics.
Jameson starts the story laser-focused on polls, prestige, and positioning. He claims he doesn’t need a relationship that he needs a partner who’ll keep everything respectable. Georgie, however, isn’t content to be part of the façade. Her strength, her voice, and her refusal to be sidelined shake the very foundation of Jameson’s life. Over time, he stops seeing her as a prop and starts seeing her as a person. Then a partner. Then the woman he can’t imagine life without.
What I loved here was the internal awakening: from “This is a calculated arrangement” to “I’d give up the presidency if I lost you.” Georgie’s influence isn’t just emotional, it forces Jameson to examine his priorities, to question whether power is worth the sacrifices he's made, and to realize that love might just be the ultimate campaign.
Possible spoilers ahead! :) I loved the first book in this series and this book was great until about half way. I felt like Georgie was a little too childish at times. Everything between her and Max escalated and understandably she wanted her own job and identity but she went overboard. It was a little struggle to finish it. The ending was okay. It is sweet the thought of him giving up running again for her but at the same time she fell in love with his ambition and his dedication to the country and now she just wanted all the attention all the time. Overall good series. Just the characters, mostly Georgie was a little childish towards the end.
Another emotional and somewhat political thriller
Fantastic conclusion to the Presidential series. Jameson and Georgie’s lives changed and got considerably more hectic once he took office. And as always in politics, there is underhandedness and deceit and nudge the table deals and ruthless ambition that cause problems.
And although the presidency didn’t turn out quite the way Jameson expected and there were some serious scares, life has a way of working out. Great ending!
I absolutely LOVED this! I felt all the emotions and I definitely cried.
Max is a prick. Lauren what a bitch. but they added a ton of drama and I loved it. I love characters that I can hate and both of them I hated equally!
Jameson and Georgie, I obviously love them and how much they changed each other for the better.
Jameson grew so much within the two books and this one just made me love him even more. Of course I wanted to hit him a few times but I still understood all the things he did and he did them for her.
I highly recommend reading this and the first book!
This is the second book in the duet, if you haven't read Presidential Bargain, you need to go and read that one first.
The story picks up exactly where we left off in the last book with Jameson and Georgie facing down the press in the aftermath of the expose. What I like about these two is the relationship they share, each fighting for what they want but also supporting each other. There are some tricky times in this one, and a lot of missed communications which caused problems. Georgie seemed to lose some of her strength in this one, she always manages to stand up to her partner, but at times gets steamrollered by the person she is supposed to be working with, who turns out to be a total waste of oxygen!
Overall an enjoyable read and glad they got their HEA eventually
What’s my favorite book?
I would say, Jameson, that it is now this duet! The Presidential Promises” Duet has got to be one of THE BEST SERIES on the market!! The story of Georgie and Jameson is THE BEST that I have read recently. A beautiful story, some mystery thrown in, a little bit of tension (sexual and otherwise - wink* wink*), and exceptional dialogue and there you have the perfect story!
The Ended They Deserved
Georgie and Jameson went through so much to finally get their happy ending. As I was reading the book, I couldn't help but find Georgie's interactions and support of Max incredibly annoying. It was obvious to me that he was nothing but trouble, and her inability to see it led to some major communication issues. But in the end, love triumphed, and that's what counts the most!
Solid!
I loved how the story showed moving from a contractual arrangement to something real. Full of risk and vulnerability. It gave the story a deeper emotional pull for me. The political plot sometimes took over the romance, but I actually liked that part since political stories are one of my favorites. Capitol Promises felt solid, compelling, and exactly the kind of read I enjoy. One that mixes love with ambition, power, and risk.
Swoony Political Romance
Bravo to Gallo for masterfully balancing the ups and downs of Jameson and Georgie's relationship, the many layers of political drama, and plenty of steamy times! There was a lot going on but it never seemed forced or convoluted.
Absolutely loved it! Start with book 1 of the duet and enjoy!
Georgie what happened to you?!
This book ended well. I didn’t care for Georgie much in this book. She seemed childish in this book, and there was hardly any remorse after all the BS was brought to light. ImThe villains just disappears after they were exposed, and Georgie had no backbone whatsoever when it came to Max. That drove me insane.
