This book has so few ratings that I feel bad for judging it from the POV of an adult reading it, but I’m just trying to stay true to my own ratings of the books I’ve read :’(
It has very high ratings on Chinese Goodreads (Douban) and apparently made lots of the reviewers cry as children reading it. I thought it was alright, but very over the top sentimental—the MC cries like three times every chapter and faints every other chapter lol. The plot was extremely predictable and the antagonists’ actions didn’t make any sense even in-universe but whatever, the writing was pretty good I guess. Easy to read and had a fair amount of depth. The beginning even made me tear up a little with the death right off the bat lol, even as melodramatic and unlikely as it all was
