She reluctantly signs the contract to save her brother.

Drake wants to prove to Mira that he's a different person from the bully he was in high school. Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

Drake has a sneaky plan male Mira his he does have some making up to do since he did bully her in high school.. but now he's sorta blackmailing her since he sorta used her brother and his debt.. he wants a kid and only with her.. not just one but many.. sign her life and freedom over to him and her brother is debt free... their is tension and some push/pull from Mira because she doesn't trust him but she still falling for him even if his pass comes back to huant them..

It took me awhile to like drake... because he did alot of shady things in my eyes when it came to Mira.. few things switched her birth control, kinda blackmailed her, when she was injured he said FUCK THAT BABY 🤣🤣🤣

Magical

This book got me all in the feelzzz. I love a good bully romance and even tho it’s only mentioned he bullied her in HS, nothing on page, this was still a satisfying read of a man who was damaged, filled with anger and pain, finding love with the girl he didn’t know how to love.

He concocts a contract, uses bribery, to get her to stay with him, because he doesn’t believe he’s lovable enough to keep someone without leverage. His insecurities lead him to be distrustful and sneaky in trying to bind the heroine to him.

And thankfully the book lives up to its title and there’s an actual pregnancy in this one.

He was a manwhore, but once he has the heroine, there’s no one else. Heroine is a virgin, belongs only to the hero and I loved how possessive he was over claiming her innocence for himself. There’s some slight OW drama from a previous gf who tries to exact revenge on him for rejecting her. No cheating or abuse between MCs. HEA but no epilogue

This is Mira and Drake's story. I am not going to spoil much because it's a short and lovely story and I would definitely recommend to read it without spoiling anything.
I am amazed by the amount of groveling and convincing the H did to make sure that h knows his feelings are real and he's a changed man. There were a few bumps in their journey but H was such a misunderstood character and all he needed was someone to show that he can be loved too. Even though his unstable past isn't an excuse for bullying the h, but he more than made up for it and even owned his mistakes. He did something towards the end out of his Insecurities that might be upsetting to some readers but his intentions were never to hurt the h. So I bought his apologies quickly and besides the twist was nice.

It was okay. It’s started off with an a--hole MC but then he and the story turned into a begging w u s s y romance story. I felt the FMC was a little to bland and hard to be likable. There was just something boring about her. Idk.

It wasn’t a bad story, but it is forgettable.

Amazon decided to not allow my frist review for the book and the story was so forgettable that i couldn't remember enough of it to remember what I wrote in my review. If amazon is going to decline to publish my reviews they should at least send it back to me in it's complete form so I can edit it for resubmission. As it stands, I am NOT rereading this book to remember whatI found wrong with it.

Good Luck and Amazon, YOU S U C K!!

Lmao I burst out laughing when Mira opened an email on the MMC’s computer with the title “pills”.

Such cringey trope scenes that I couldn’t enjoy. She walks in on the OW forcing a kiss, he switches her pills, then he gets shot. Seemed like a check marked list of scenes to play off in order to draw out the book.

The Hero was insufferable,i couldn't like him and made the book sound repetitive.It's a decent book but i didn't enjoy it.This book series is a hit and miss for me,more of a miss for me contributing to it is that i detest the word "bred".

An Agonizing Love Story Steeped in Childhood Trauma...

I have been greatly intrigued by this series as the concept is an intriguing take on fetishizing procreation, something I have seen approached many different ways over the years unsuccessfully. However, Sam Crescent and Stacy Espino’s Breeding Season Series stands apart from all the others for me, as there is far more plot substance and heart to these stories just not present in other, similarly themed books I’ve read. At the same time though, it has also been a series that has vacillated substantially in quality with an equal number of bad, typo filled installments as stellar, five star, unputdownable ones.

“Bred by the Bully” however, the eighth installment of this dark and gritty series is by far the best, most solid is plot, and substantially steeped in trauma and subsequently depraved thus far!

Here the authors give us the story of Mira Davenport and Drake Eastwood, Mira being a fairly timid, thirty year old woman who was ruthlessly bullied throughout her childhood for her learning disability. A woman who, despite these ongoing traumas has grown to be smart, independent, and loyal, always protecting and looking out for her family. She is also a woman however that must now turn to her most hated bully, Drake Eastwood, a shady billionaire businessman for help in saving her brother from certain death, a predicament that only his money and connections can fix. And the bully himself, Drake, a controlling, at times sadistic, manipulator willing to go to any length to secure what he wants. Mira, being want he currently wants the most, and willing to do anything to ensure she becomes his, even force her into marriage and childbirth against her will.

What follows is a startling, at times uncomfortable tale of dire childhood abuse, trauma, and familial dysfunction. A story so starkly devoid of trust and love, you will at first think it unbelievable that any amount of happiness for Mira and Drake are at all possible, let alone the miracle of a “happily ever after” for them both.  This is a heartbreaking story of how events in youth can cripple the adults we eventually become. It is a beautifully brooding take of emotional ruin, with a plot as thought provoking as it is unthinkable. A story that will lead you down a path to the realization that maybe, just maybe, even the worst among us can see the error of their ways and change in order for the chance at true happiness and love.

For me, this installment was the most striking yet of all I’ve read thus far, evoking a range of emotions which catapulted me viciously from one to the next until the very last word. And as I have found with most of the other installments within this series, this one too is multifaceted, emotionally complex, and topically bold. A refreshing boldness that grabs you by the throat and demands your attention to the often startling events contained within. A suspense filled story world imbued with bleak and desolate emotional landscapes. Emotional landscapes that will give you pause and make you truly ponder even as you fan yourself from the sizzling sexiness you cannot prevent yourself from getting addicted to.

Is it a highly unlikely romanticized, fetishist rendition of obsessive need and ownership fantasies? Well, yes, of course it is, this is within a series focused on breeding kinks and all that comes with it after all. Does this installment, not unlike many of the others, continue to be simplistic in some places, a bit far fetched and over the top in others? Again, as with the other installments in this series, yes. However, the thematic tilt of this one is far more multifaceted and complex than the others, making this one definitely worth the read.

This was not good; I tried to finish this but I stopped around 75%. The premise was good for an enemies-to-lovers story, but the writing was disappointing. Mira and Drake's relationship progressed unnaturally, even if they secretly had feelings for each other (one earlier than the other). I was not convinced of Drake's remorse for how he treated Mira in high school, and I don't think he ever actually said he was sorry; just that he was an asshole and that's not who he was anymore.

There was an abrupt time jump of 3 weeks from when they first started their contract, but it was casually mentioned instead of being an important fact that needed to be brought to the forefront. Drake went from wanting Mira's love and to have a bunch of kids with her while not believing in family ("Family is overrated, Mira.") to suddenly proposing to her and saying he does want family. Because of that abrupt time jump, his change of heart seemed disingenuine to me. Yes, he wanted Mira to love him and be all-in in their relationship, but his reflections were lacking in this complete turn-around of his. Everything was rushed and their emotions just skimmed the surface for a plot that could've been drawn out to create a story worth its salt.

Also, Drake was kind of crude. I didn't like that he took a highlighter from his desk and put it in Mira's vag; I'm just thinking of all those germs and possible highlighter residue...yuck.

1. He’d switched her birth control pills with placebos the day she came home from the doctor after their honeymoon. (Isn't this like fucking illegal, wtf?)

2. Drake had ordered the placebo pills. She scrolled through the previous emails and discovered he’d taken a picture of the packet so it was an exact replica of hers, and unless she looked at them side by side, she wouldn’t have known. In fact, she didn’t know until she saw them right now. The pills contained a small shot of vitamins, harmless in most cases. (Girl, you have every goddamn right to be angry.)

3. “Fuck the baby,” Drake said. (Lmao)

4. “No, you listen to me. I will shut down this entire fucking hospital if anything happens to my wife. She is the only person that matters. Do you hear me? She has to live. She has to … live. I fucking love her. Tell the doctors, I don’t know how long it takes but they have to make sure she wakes up. They … make sure she wakes up.” (Exactly, wife (a living person) before an unborn jelly bean.)

1.5 stars

* Hero(s) - 1/5
* Heroine(s) - 2/5
* Secondary Characters - 1/5

* Plot - 1/5
* Romance/Steam - 1/5
* Drama/Conflict/Angst - 1/5

* Writing Style - 2/5

So basically this series is about a 30+ old virgin, plus size heroine, who meets the "special" one. They are madly in love in 24 hours, then something very dramatic happens, bamm HEA: married or engaged in a week/month.

SPOILERS:
Him switching the Birth-control tabs is a big NO-NO for me. Love of my life or whatever, I would run as far as I can from a man like that. An all that the stupid plot twist at the end with the ex ... that was suppose to create drama?! I mean come on ?!

I read everything, so my expectations are very low, but I can not take a book seriously that has so many unrealistic elements in there. It is just too much. Less would have been better. Even fanfictions are better. I feel like I wasted a few hours from my life... I will drop this series. It is just not for me...

Mira needed to help her brother. He made a big mistake taking a loan from Drake. With her brother with two broken legs, Mira had no choice but to go to Drake and make an offer. Drake screwed up. He wanted Mira since High School but the way he bullied her, she would never come to him. Granted he went about things the wrong way, but he now has her in his grasp. The deal was for Mira, ALL OF HER. I have to say, Drake was a jerk. The way he wormed his way into her life was low. He couldn’t have found a better way. Mira has had a crush on Drake even when he treated her like crap. But the heart goes where it wants. Drake is so naughty though. Ok, I admit the office is really interesting. They had their moment of falling and then things got stronger.

I like bully romances, but this one is not really a bully romance. Again I knew not to expect much considering the series, but you don't even have the story, they only refer to the bullying. Mira and Drake have their own individual issues, and their relationship seems so stupid. It changes way too fast. And sometimes the story just seemed so unorganized, like the authors just blurted every thought onto paper and didnt care if it fell in line with the already existing storyline or not.
The danger/drama they brought in at the end was so dumb. Like let's throw some big climatic scene in and a near death experience is the way to go I guess. But again, the story is a super quick read, just dont expect much for the plot.

Mira's brother is in trouble and owes a lot of people a lot of money and she's about to make a deal with a bully from her past to help him. Drake bullied her in high school. Secretly though, he wanted her, he just didn't know how to go about loving her thanks to his upbringing. I'm not usually fond of bully books but Sam Crescent and Stacey Espino wrote an amazing story that had me hooked from the first. I loved that Mira had some backbone and stood her ground when she had to and I loved that Drake KNEW that he messed up big time. He was patient with her, even when a crazy ex shows up. But will Mira believe him or will she let the past run her present life?

I was not impressed with this book. At first, I thought I just had to get into it, but the more I read, the more I disliked it. The main (female) character kept repeating the same thing, just using different words (could he really like/love/want me). Then the characters changed halfway through the book. Her brother wanted to keep the pawn shop, at what seemed like, any cost, but then at the end he wanted nothing to do with it and didn’t care about it or her. The H and h relationship seemed forced (aside from the obvious). Example: all of the sudden they wanted to get married, but never said they loved each other or really showed any affection. Idk, it just rubbed me the wrong way.

This story was all over the place IMO. The two lead characters were a bit annoying she because at 30 years old she was not clued in about anything she was annoying, as for him he’d been her bully in high school and he had the most pathetic excuse why, he also wasn’t above going behind her back to get his own way even in the present. He claims he’s always wanted her, I wasn’t sure about their connection it seemed more lust than anything else. The OW was OTT and not believable for me.
This is a quick read, if it had been longer it could have been fleshed out more, as it was it suffered because of the minimal page count.

If. I. Read. Bully trope. I. Want. A grovel. Overload.
Not the next day "I forgive you". 🙄 Oh, I'm sorry. It wasn't the next day. It was a few weeks after but you would never guessed because it was written so randomly.
What pissed me off was the main dude. When the heroine wears no underwear for him it's hot but when the OW does it she's a filthy bitch?
Nope.
Also:
Swapping pills for the plot? Im fine with it.
Gaslighting her about it? No!
There are rules my guy for this kind of fictional situation. You broke them.
And then the ending??? WTF? 😂
I genuinely laughed out loud. That's why you get two stars, not one.

This book left me slightly disappointed. I do enjoy the Breeding Season series, and it's great for a semi-fast read of instalove type with more smut than plot really.
But I felt it fell behind some of the other ones in the series which I enjoyed more.
It's got it's place, it's fluffy and it's got some hot scenes, enemies, to lovers and was a good go-to when I was in a bit of a reading rut waiting for releases.

The book is pretty much what it says on the box, and I felt it started better and then it kind of fell off a bit.

This was pretty good. Drake is pretty consistent in that he was a bully and he takes responsibility for his actions. He tells her why he was so awful and apologizes. My issue is with Mira. She gave me whiplash with her back and forth. She would change from moment to moment and it went on for longer than I liked. Otherwise, there was a lovely level of heat between them, exactly what I expect from Sam Crescent.

WOW….

Ok this story started of in a super sad situation, I thought her brother wouldn’t leave her hanging like he did.. Mira and Drake’s relationship was like a tug of war, some one would make progress then not… but their chemistry was off the charts. 🙈in the end a crazy ex brought them closer together…

I’m a sucker for a bully story but most times find my self disappointed that the bully has completely reformed and turned into a bit of a wuss BUT this story Drake was a lil bit of a force , he still had darkness . I loved it

This was a short book that felt too long. The last third or so, I was ready for it to be done. It felt like there were too many plots going on, and most weren't necessary. And the (I'm assuming) climax towards the end was just confusing. I don't know why I keep reading books by this author, I'm rarely impressed, but the blurbs just pull my attention, and I can't seem to keep away from them.
