Discover the biblical promise of God's unending love in this whimsically illustrated board book that assures little ones nothing can separate them from God.
Can anything stop God's love and God's grace? This uplifting board book, based on Romans 8:38-39, looks at this question in the most fantastical ways. Curious children wonder if God's love can be stopped by rumbling volcanoes, deep ocean waters, rain storms, hail storms, or even the mistakes we make. The answer is always a resounding, "No! There is nothing so powerful, nothing so strong—God's love is too high and too deep and too long!" The engaging verse is paired with wildly imaginative illustrations, and the affirming message of God’s unstoppable love is one that parents will want to share with their little ones over and over.
Natalee Creech is a children's author who is equally at home in Canada, (where she grew up) in the U.S., (where she studied education) and in South Korea (where she taught for many years). Regardless of where she lives, she is probably sneaking more children's books into the house, much to the delight of her children and the dismay of her husband. Oreo, the family cat, remains indifferent.
Scripture Connection For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39 Spiritual Themes The rhyming book begins with a question: “Can anything separate me from God’s love?”, then offers its answer– a resounding “No!” Each page sets forth a possible object or scenario that could, possibly, separate a person from God’s love, typically beginning with the phrase “not.” In this way, the book follows the format of the key Scripture. Just as the verses in Romans illustrate that there is NOTHING with the power to separate us from God’s love, this little book conveys the same message.
Additionally, the book adds affirmation of the strength and resilience of God’s love: “There is nothing so POWERFUL, / nothing so STRONG– / God’s love is too HIGH, / and too DEEP and too LONG.” This is why even “a swirling tornado / or a sinkhole of mud” cannot separate us from God’s love!
What I Liked As I mentioned in a recent picture book review, it is easy to become desensitized to God’s truths. There is SO MUCH goodness in the Good News and, especially for those who grow up learning these truths in Sunday School, it can become easy to forget what they really mean– if, indeed, we really understood them, at all.
My recollections of Sunday School are more lessons of morality than messages about the depth of God’s love. And, frankly, I was already learning about morality (“Character Counts!”), at school.
That’s why I SO appreciate books like this one. The message is clear and tangible– and the Indiana Jones style imagery definitely contributes to the fun.
My favorite pages were the ones that discussed God’s love with respect to our sin: “No! God’s love doesn’t change / with the words that you say / or the things that you do. / It will not go away!” I think that this is a message most of us need to hear. So often, I feel that, once I’m aware of my sin, my relationship with God is all messed up and I can’t find my way back to Him. I feel that I have to make things right, on my own. But this line makes it so clear that, even when we mess up, God isn’t going anywhere!
With such a great message, this is a book I would gladly recommend for kids AND grown-ups!
Illustrations The writing evokes some powerful, adventurous images, and the illustrations are right on board! (That was an unintentional pun. Hooray!) Cowman’s artwork is zany and whimsical, and the book features some splendid scenarios, from a kid astride a white buffalo on a teeny-tiny cliff to a kitten in a space suit aboard a rocket ship.
I really enjoyed Cowman’s integration of animals, in general. On closer inspection, I realized that almost every illustration includes at least one animal. I spy a pooch, a butterfly, a buffalo, some mice, two squirrels, a frog and someone who loves ice. (And more!) Plus, the animals have definitive personalities, just like the children. The eagle, for instance, is not a happy camper.
Overall, Cowman’s artwork is delightfully imaginative and makes the sentences leap off the page.
Recommendation For adventurous littles and adults who need a reminder of God’s love, this is a title I highly recommend.

Nothing can separate us from God's Love according to Romans 8:38. But don't we all, adults and children, have days that we feel pretty unlovable and we wonder if that is true. In Nothing, Natalie Creech tells young children (and adults) that God's love is forever no matter what you do or what happens on earth.
Nothing is an adorable board book with simply gorgeous illustrations and beautiful prose. This 32-page book has the tough cardboard pages for little hands under age 4 to look at and turn the pages on their own. It measures roughly 8 by 9 inches so it is a nice size for little ones to hold on their own too. This book would make a great gift and would be a good addition to any little one's library in Christian families.

“There is nothing so powerful, nothing so strong – God’s love is too high and too deep and too long,” Natalee Creech ends her children’s book, Nothing Can Separate You From God’s Love!
~ What ~ This thirty-two-page-page board book with rounded corners targets children ages four to eight years old. With no scary scenes, it contains how wonderful God’s love is and that we cannot escape it. Colorful, engaging, and expressive illustrations cover both sides of the pages with an easy-to-read font size.
This short read for kids reminds them how God loves us, no matter where we are. He can and does see us whether we are high on a mountain or deep in the sea. He is there no matter the elements outside or if we attempt to get away from Him. Even if we say or do something wrong, His grace and love will not go away. The ending reiterates we are children of the King.
~Why ~ This is an amazing rhyming book that young children can enjoy looking at the interesting drawings while being read to or beginner readers up to the third-grade level can understand without too many complicated words. I greatly appreciate the book’s main point that God’s love is always there, no matter what. The artwork is intriguing, detailed, and fun entertainment, especially the animals’ expressions.
~ Why Not ~ Those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ may not like a book that talks about God and His eternal love. There are a few two- and three-syllable words that young readers may need help pronouncing.
~ Wish ~ It would be helpful if it mentioned Jesus so there is no confusion between the Almighty God and a false god. It may be more age-appropriate for two to six-year-olds.
~ Want ~ If you are looking for a creative, fun, and endearing book that focuses on how powerful God’s love is, this would be an excellent gift for a young one.
Thanks to Hachette Book Group, WorthyKids, and the author for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.
Can you go somewhere and get away from God’s love? Join this group of children as they go all over to see how far God's love will stretch:
They dive down to the bottom of the deepest ocean and to the highest mountain peaks. They encounter horrible hail and thunder storms--including a tornado. They travel all over the globe, even into outer space.
And they discover God is in all those places, still ready with love for us all. No matter where we are, or what we have done, His love is always waiting for us to turn to him, and accept it.
This little book is based on the verses in Romans 8: 38 - 39:
"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow--not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below--indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."
This sweet board book illustrates all those places and ideas with bright colors, and eye-catching illustrations. Little ones will be drawn into this story by discovering where God's love for them is--everywhere! Age three through eight-year-olds will enjoy this five-star book.
Worthy Kids has provided Tickmenot with a complimentary copy of, Nothing Can Separate You from God's Love, for the purpose of review.
Nothing: Nothing Can Separate You From God’s Love is a children’s book about God’s love for us. It stated how no mountain, valley, sea, hailstorm, winter, volcano, and traveling the world can separate us from God’s love. There is nothing too powerful and the book explained how God’s love is deep and wide. It also explained how God’s love doesn’t change with any words we may say or anything that we may do. It ends with describing how we are loved and forgiven and how God has adopted us and we are child of a King.
I would recommend this inspiring book to anyone who is looking for a positive book to influence our children’s lives. The book would be great for anyone aged 1-7. I immensely loved the colorful pictures in this book. They are very detailed and I loved how bright the ocean appeared in it. This book contained a wonderful message about God’s love and it displayed how nothing can keep us from God’s love. No weather event, no mountain, valley, and there is no place we can hide. The book conveyed how much we are loved and how God has adopted us as His own.
"I received this book free from the publisher, Hachette Book Group/Faithwords/ Worthy Kids for my honest review.”
I love books that help to explain Scripture to little ones. Natalee Creech has done a great job of explaining Romans 8:38a in such a way that most toddlers will be able to understand. She takes many examples from the world that children in this age group are most likely familiar with and answers the question “can….separate you from God’s love?” Joseph Cowman’s illustrations are colorful and whimsical and match the text well. I can see Nothing: Nothing Can Separate You From God’s Love! becoming a favorite. Since this is a board book, it probably isn’t appropriate for most K-12 Christian School libraries. However, it is perfect for a church nursery, day care, or home library. It would also make a great baby gift. Nothing is also available as a picture book. I have not reviewed the picture book format but if the content is the same as the board book, I would have no problem adding it to a school library picture book section. I received a complimentary copy of Nothing. This is my honest review.
By design, board books are short words with thick pages. Parents and others read these books to their youngest children. NOTHING: NOTHING CAN SEPARATE YOU FROM GOD’S LOVE! By Natalee Creech uses simple words to explain an important spiritual concept for children (and adults). Based on Romans 3:38a in the CEB “Nothing can separate us from God’s Love…” Like Creech writes, “There is nothing so powerful, nothing so strong—God’s love is too high and too deep and too long.”
The truth of these words is combined with realistic and beautiful illustrations from Joseph Cowman. The truth of these words provides a message for young readers (and their adults) which needs to be read over and over. I loved reading NOTHING and highly recommend it.
Nothing: Nothing Can Separate You From God's Love! is a board book based on Romans 8:38-39 that says, “38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This book is written by Natalee Creech and beautifully illustrated by Joseph Cowman. The rhyming passages is easy to read and easy to understand for children of any age. The pictures are fun and even outlandish but they serve to get their point across. The characters pictures are diverse in their appearance and adventurous in their activities. This would be a great book to be read regularly to remind little ones that there’s nothing that they can do that will ever separate them from God’
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest opinion.
The rhyming of the words in this book is impeccable! There is a wonderfully, smooth rhythm to each stanza.
The message is fun and uplifting.
The Illustrations done by Joseph Cowman are done in attractive watercolor variations, emphasizing, each type of situation mentioned throughout the book.
This is written so it will hold the preschooler's attention, the elementary age children will enjoy it and it s written to be easily read by parent/guardian/teacher or anyone else.
It is a religious book, centering on God’s love.
The cardboard books seems to be securely made. It also comes in a hardback version.

This is a truly timeless tale that should be told for many generations to come. No matter your age, children and citizens alike need to know that nothing will ever be able to separate us from God's love. No matter the distance, time, or space, His love is beyond measure or boundary. I would recommend this book to small children since it is easy to read, but the book truly does remind us of Romans 8:38 and God's profound mystery of love.
This book is a fun, adventurous depiction of God’s great love for us. My 7-month-old son loves reading it and turning the thick pages. Even though the book is probably slightly better suited for older kids (probably mature preschool or school age) because of the vocabulary, it’s a great way to lay the foundation of God’s love in my son’s life. I’m excited to read it again and again with him!

This children's book reiterates what we should know. NOTHING can separate us from God's love. All the things that make a child pull the sheets up over their head is addressed: storms, tornados, earthquakes, floods, and all the scary stuff. A sweet, and well illustrated board book, based on Romans 8.28 Recommended for the toddler to 7 year old.
I love this board book. Such beauty wrapped up in on delectable truth: God will never leave us. The sky turned ocean pics mesmerize me. Really well done!
