“We don’t need any overaged groupies in here, so you should probably get the fuck out immediately.” Rosie looks at the tall man with eyes the color of sweet chocolate and swallows both tears and anger. He’s Tony Ryan, President of Cascadia MC, and she immediately labels him Tony-the-jerk. “The size of their genitals is of course a sensitive topic, especially when there are younger and apparently much more well-endowed men available.” Tony stares at the woman in front of him. She’s curvy and gorgeous, and he might have behaved a little bit like an ass, but did she really just share with him and an embarrassingly large group of people that she thinks he’s old and has a small dick? Rosie is single and not looking for a man, but wants to find new friends, which isn’t as easy as one could think at the age of fifty-something. Then she gets invited to a book club hosted by some of the women linked to Cascadia. Tony has his hands full dealing with club business and the annoying presence of the former Cascadia President who is released on parole. He should stay focused on that, but all he can think about is how he really, really wants his hands to be full of something completely different. Being lonely sucks, and Rosie is happy to finally feel like she fits in. Being steamrolled into all kinds of activities with Tony-the-jerk was not in her plans, but he isn’t the kind of man one says no to. Or, that’s what she tells herself anyway. Then their respective families create problems neither of them anticipated, and they have to decide who to trust, who to forgive, and how to forget. Please This book contains crude words and somewhat explicit adult scenes. If this isn’t your thing, then this book might not be for you.
This is my first Mia Malone story and after finishing it, I had to go get all of her books.
I really enjoyed reading about a heroine that has common sense and is in no way shape or form a doormat. The hero wasn't an alpha nematode either and that is Super Refreshing to read about.
The older couple vibe is great too, being over a half century in age myself, I really appreciate the maturity mixed with excellent plot and I really like that there isn't a lot of navel gazing about younger adult issues going on.
These characters know who they are, know what they want or at least have a willingness to try and figure it out, which means that I got a great romance with a side of moderate dramatic plot and it made for a very enjoyable reading experience.
I love Mia Malone’s books. They are warm, funny and real. The characters are so engaging I want to sit in a pub and have a drink with them, while we banter about people we know. Her books feel like a sit down with old friends who have no inhibitions and truckloads of wit.
This book is about Tony, the president of Cascadia MC, and Rosie, a woman who was Eye’s boss, both in their 50s. We meet Rosie when she comes into The Roadhouse to deliver some books for Eye as she has resigned. After the break up of her very bland marriage, Rosie is sick and tired of her life. She is lonely, with her daughters moved away and living their lives, and stifled and wants something more. She doesn’t know what, but she knows what she has isn’t cutting it for her.
When Rosie and Tony meet, Tony is so attracted to Rosie that he completely messes up and really insults her, however, Rosie does make friends with Addie, so they are brought into each other’s orbit again. After many apologies, a very stealthy and slow courtship ensues.
As I already said above, this book is wonderfully real. There are issues with friends and family, their history is painfully revealed and lusty adventures are had. This is another thing I like about this author’s work, she shows over 40s having a fun and active sex life that may not involve a dungeon or a sex swing but still is pretty adventurous.
The plot isn’t complex, but it’s so well written and the characters just wriggle under my skin so much I’ve had to give it a higher rating than I give most MC books. You will smile, laugh and feel sad for the pain the characters feel and be fully immersed in the lives they lead during the course of the book. I definitely want to read the next book when it comes out. I’m betting it’s about Emma!
Damn it all to hell I loved this book. Each book I read that Mia has written just keeps getting better. I loved Tony and Rosie they where just amazing together. I can't wait to read the next book!
Great book, it kept me invested, and I love the characters. More authors need to learn from Mia Malone that it’s completely possible to write an alpha male that’s not a controlling cave man, and that female characters can be strong without being a bitch.
Mia Malone is a new author to me and I have just binge read the Brothers, Thor MC and the first two books in the Cascadia series. And this book the second in the cascadia series did not disappoint. Love the world she has created with these connected series. Looking forward to the next Cascadia novel and really hope Brook's and Ronnie's stories from Thor MC comes along soon.
Ok, so there were a few very un-smily parts but I just adore the charachters and community that I can't stop smiling when I read them. Still think that reading them in order will give the best experince, even if they are stand alones. It's a simple read in the way that it's not packed with highs or extreme plot twists; it's about people and finding a place where you belong. It will leave you feeling happy and in the mood for good food and crazy company, and who doesn't need that right now?
I really enjoy the stories that Mia Malone puts to paper. As an older reader (how I dislike labeling myself) it is great to read books with older , mature couples and friends that have dealt with many things life has tossed them and still venture on for more exciting things to experience. I love reading stories that tie into each other and embraces family and friends.
Another fantastic strong female lead, one who is able to stand up to the President of a MC, and walk away with confidence. She slides into the spot of top lady and does not even realise.
Awesome installment in this new series. Tony finally gets his HEA after watching Finn find his with Addie. Rosie was unique among the women in her books and I enjoyed seeing her growth and maturity when all the various dramas came up in their life.
I felt sorry for Emma and Katie, as they felt jealous over how Rosie appeared to come in and take over but also didn't blame the others for how Emma specifically acted and the shitstorm she engineered and the feelings and harm she caused.
Quick ending without any huge action scenes which seems to be the way Ms. Malone usually does her suspense and action. Slightly disappointing. But still enjoyed the growth and expansion of our knowledge of the Cascadia MC.

I love the stories Mia Malone writes! The mix of older and generations gives a real life feel to the book. Mia's stories has a way to sweep you away to different parts of the country where you never been and makes you feel like you are there in the moment with the characters. I thank God for for the talent that Mia has, and I thank Mia for giving us such wonderful stories.
Strong females, protective handsome males and a family created from friends, I loved every word. I feel like if I traveled to Seattle I would be able find the roadhouse and order a burger
Another winner, everything I loved in the first book is in this one, Rosie isn’t the fighting, hiking survivalist that Addy is but she’s got more than her share of Moxie and a deep well of strength that is exactly what Tony needs in his lady. Excellent read.
Love Mia books, she writes books about older couples finding love. Love Tony & Rosie’s book. Love that Tony never once make Rosie feel like she didn’t have control over her life. That she was a equal like him. Can’t wait to read the next book!
This was totally worth the wait. I Loved it. I love MC romance but I also love reading about older couples still getting a chance at a 1 in a million love.
