Enclosed by the woods. Cut off by a storm. Three will die.
30-year-old Private Investigator Asha Kade is a self-made warrior woman who bears the scars of a trafficked youth.

She has created a new life in New York now. Engaged to the love of her life and surrounded by her closest friends, things are finally looking up.

But her dark past refuses to leave her alone.

A wealthy acquaintance summons her to her deathbed and makes a cryptic wish. “Find my children and tell them I did it for love.” Looking into the dying woman’s eyes, Asha has a hard time saying no.

Tormented by her vow, she travels to the dead woman’s secluded mansion at the base of the White Mountains. Within hours of her arrival, a household member is found dead.

After discovering a second grisly body, Asha realizes she has stumbled across a disturbing family secret. The truth is far more sinister than she ever imagined.

But a severe storm has isolated the mansion from town.

Can Asha stay one step ahead of the killer before they hunt her down, too?

A twisted whodunnit!

Asha and the RHR have accepted a task from the late Madame Bouchard, which if completed satisfactorily, will net them 1million dollars for their orphanages - how could they refuse?

The first case involves Asha, Tetyana and Katy visiting a creepy mansion in the woods, where threatening letters have been sent to the caretaker. What could possibly go wrong??
Very Agatha Christie-esque.

An intriguing tale of family betrayal, abuse, manipulation and retribution!

Have they put themselves in grave danger? How can they untangle the web of lies? Who can they trust?

Edge of your seat thriller that kept me up late, to finish it, unputdownable!! More, please!

I highly recommend all the RHR books but this new series, with the characters, just a little older and wiser but still occasionally reckless, is excellent!

I received a review copy of this book from the author and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This is the first book in the new series by Ms. Herath  and I really enjoyed it! I was thinking it would be somewhat like the other series with Asha and her Red Heeled Rebels but I was in for a suspenseful surprise! The gang is older now and the situation they find themselves in scared the carp out of me. The similarities between the two series are that they are still trying to do something to help someone but the level of suspense was intense. The place in New Hampshire that it takes us to is the place of nightmares, but is it the people who live there or the house itself? You will want to give yourself enough time to read the story straight through as there are not many good stopping places. I lived the start of this series and can't wait for the next book.
I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is my own honest opinion.

Asha, Tetyana & Katy spent years rescuing kids who had been trafficked. Retired from that they opened orphanages for a lot of those children. Madame Bouchard on her deathbed promised them money for those orphanages if they would handle unique problems that came their way. Now call has come in from the caretaker of Madame Bouchard's home with their first challenge.

It's a twisted mystery within a mystery. Madame brochards family and caretakers of her family home are strange and not very likable. Worship they keep dying. Enclosed off from town by a storm the three ladies have no choice but to figure out what is going on.

It's a nice twisty mystery and the three friends are people that you actually end up caring about.

This an amazing mystery thriller. Asha Kade and her two friends Katy and Tetyana are tasked with discovering who is sending threatening letters to the housekeeper of a old large family manor separated from the rest of the world and in the middle of the storm. And then bodies start dropping and everyone in the manor is suspect. This is a fast paced book and the characters are enigmatic and all have hidden secrets. As the story unfolds the reader is shocked by unexpected turn of events. A great thriller which will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat the entire time. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Continuing this remarkable series, the Red Heeled Rebels are ten years older and their desire to help help others has grown with them. Never to turn away from danger, this novel has deep, dark secrets, devious characters and our shining heroines here to make things right. Truly an unputdownable, entertaining and intoxicating story which Tikiri has become known for.
A Stunner. Outstanding and Very Highly Recommended.

The Red Heeled members Katy, Tetyana and Asha receive a call from Mrs Robinson who has been receiving threating letters. Madame Bouchard set up a trust to help fund the houses to help runaway children if they solve mysteries. They go to the isolated house and a storm traps them without any way to reach the outside. Three people die. This novel is a page turning thriller.

Fun Thriller

I truly enjoyed the first book of the Merciless series. Love the short chapters that prepares you for a twist or turn at the end of each. I started with Merciless Past and actually liked it a little better than this one. In both cases they were easy to read and hard to put down. I am definitely going to read the remainder of the series.

Another I couldn’t put down!

Still loving Tikiris stories, a little lost because it jumped ahead 10 years, though. Did I miss something in between? It’s an adjustment, skipping ahead so much in the Red Heeled Rebels adventures. Seems like such a huge gap, maybe leaving room for another series in between? Anyway, this book was good, and kept me turning pages in anticipation of what would happen next. I love that it’s not necessarily predictable, like so many other books like these can be.
The one thing that I didn’t like, however, was how forgetful and naive the characters seemed to be. For all of their experiences and backgrounds, they shouldn’t be as naive as they were in several parts of the book. They should be quicker than this to put things together or be able to perform well under pressure.
Other than that, I enjoyed this and can’t wait to start the next one!

Great story. Asha and her friends Tetyana and Katy, have been asked to help an older lady who is getting threatening letters. The lady lives in an old mansion hidden in the hills. The other people that live there are very strange and nobody wants these strangers here. Before they get too far investigating, the lady dies. In less than 24 hours there are 2 more deaths. This is a great mystery with plenty of clues and/or red herrings. It is very intriguing, with plenty of action and suspense. Very enjoyable read.

Cozy mystery a la Agatha Christie? I finished it because I wanted to find out the solution, but there were numerous issues. Twice “conscious” was used for “conscience”. The author apparently didn’t know that there are no DCI (detective chief inspectors) in the US, nor that pastors actually work on the weekends preaching in a church and typically are not employed as tutors. There was a lot going on in this book, and it seemed it was meant to confuse the reader so that we couldn’t unravel the mystery. Instead it just made it all implausible.

Asha, Katy and Tetyana, the red heeled rebels are on the case investigating threatening letters to Mrs Robinson at Mrs. Bouchard's mansion and get more than they bargained for with bodies piling up and people appearing who are not who they seem to be. All is resolved and a it's result for their trafficked children charity and one family member who was wronged in her younger years.

This one grew on me towards the end and I really didn't see the twist and other entanglements coming. However, I did find the start of the book at bit tedious, constantly referring to the characters pasts. I don't know if this was because the author tried to cover off what had happened in other books that these characters had been, but I found it clunky and to be honest a little bit annoying. That said, putting that to one side, I did end up enjoying the book

This was a very good clean, well written book. It lagged a little bit in some places, but they kept the story going very good.. She is a good writer without all graphic violence and sex and bad language.. It was very easy to read and very enjoyable. I really didn’t want to put it down till I found out who the bad guy was.. I highly recommend her books for a fun clean read that won’t give you nightmares. Looking forward to the next one.

Asha, Katy and Tetyana take a case from Madame Bouchard's friend in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. When they get there they are quite surprised to see large manor off on it's own with only one small bridge into the property. Mrs. Robinson, the caretaker welcomes then in and explains that she is getting threatening letters and is very concerned. The next day, things change for the lady when Mrs. Robinson dies of mysterious causes. What continues to be a book of twists and turns and two more murders, a great mystery fast paced novel.
