The Mitzy Moon Mysteries Box Set: Books 7-9 includes three full-length novels PLUS the bonus short story: Ghosts and Bad Toasts.
USA Today Bestselling author Trixie Silvertale grew up reading an endless supply of Lilian Jackson Braun, Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew novels. She loves the amateur sleuths in cozy mysteries and and obsesses about all things paranormal. Those two passions unite in her Mitzy Moon Mysteries, and she's thrilled to write them and share them with you.
Per book: 7 Swords and Fallen Lords Murder at the Ren Faire; what a wonderful book! As always it took me no time at all to feel completely immersed in the story. And I was riveted the whole way through! The kind of story that leaves you in a daze after it ends. The kind of story where you get to fully escape to another world, this time a world of knights and swords. The renaissance faire. This is a unique series that has its own personality, which sets it apart from other paracozies. It’s so well-written, with such a good flow and that one-more-chapter-ability. Re-ow! Pyewacket can confirm. Erick was quite heroic! Can’t tell you more, of course, just read it and enjoy! Fave quote: “A crash from somewhere in the bookshop startles me out of my silent analysis of the facts. Erick is out of his chair in a flash and motions for me to keep quiet. “Stay here,” he whispers. Has he met me?” Lol, so much humor coming from Mitzy, I laughed out loud!
8 Wakes and High Stakes Another awesome book in this entertaining series! I loved how Ghost-ma played a big part in this installment and was her ever entertaining self. I really enjoyed the interaction between Mitzy and her Ghost-ma! And Erick and Mitzy - they are just so cute together! I just love everything about this series, and this story! I love the style, the characters, the way the story is written. Awesome!!! This book was so well-written, so engaging, really really good. And at the end there is a surprise which makes me curious for the next book!
9 Tracks and Flashbacks My favorite book in this incredibly awesome series! A cold case. Ice cold. Or is it? Will Mitzy stir up trouble? Silvertale managed to deliver her best book yet, and that’s saying something, because the others were already so great! This book touched my heart in so many ways; it had me laughing, it had me crying, it had humor, it had depth, it had layers; it had everything! Some parts were so moving, so beautiful, that I couldn’t help but cry. Other parts were laugh out loud funny, I laughed out loud so many times! And the rest in between had so many subtle and not-so-subtle moments of humor that I smiled throughout the whole book. When I wasn’t crying, that is; and those moments were all related to Mitzy losing her Mama when she was 11 years old. A very impressive story. Mitzy’s extrasensory perception makes the whole story even more interesting. And look at Mitzy, being all selfless and stuff! She has come a long way and as a reader, you can’t help but love her to bits. The mystery was great, too. A multi-layered story kept me interested and on the edge of my seat! This is a book that you really cannot miss out on! It deserves 10 stars! The author really outdid herself! Favorite quote: “Pyewacket bobs his head in a frighteningly human way, and I find myself wondering whether he’s more cogent than some of the guys I dated.”
I love this series - one I look forward to and cannot wait for the next release. The characters are fabulous, the storyline is great, and these books can be read individually, but you will not want to. I cannot get enough of Mitzy, Ghost-Ma, the sheriff, and all the other perfectly crafted characters!
There is never a dull moment in Mitzy’s new life in Pin Cherry Harbor. All the more so now that she and Sheriff-Too-Hot-To-Handle are taking it to the next level.
Swords and Fallen Lords: Silvertale hits it out of the Faire-grounds with Book Seven and seeing the inhabitants of Pin Cherry again is always a joy. This author is outstanding at weaving tales that surprise and delight while still mystifying in equal measures, but it was over far too soon!
Wakes and High Stakes: Ghost-ma always seems to have a little something up her sleeve and in Book Eight, Mitzy is floored by Isadora's reluctant revelation! But shock and awe must be put aside since there's a murder or two to decipher, and a ghost to help cross over. With Sheriff Too-Hot-to-Handle inclined to include our spirited sleuth in what he's taken to calling "our investigation"; Mitzy is all in to nab the guilty party before more bodies start to fall.
Tracks and Flashbacks: When we left Mitzy and crew at the end of Book Eight, we were given a bit of a teaser for what was to come in Book Nine. Well played Ms Silvertale, well played! I was literally left with bated breath in anticipation of “what comes next”.
Well, friends, let me tell you that along with the temptations that “rooming with the Sheriff” will foist on Mitzy, Tracks and Flashbacks hits our heroine with painful memories, amazing insights, and a cold case that has tentacles reaching through intrigue, deception, and corruption. Far more than they had bargained for. Not knowing who – if anyone – they can trust, Erick and Mitzy find themselves running for cover. Though Ghost-Ma, Pyewacket, and Silas aren’t nearby physically, the wonders of technology make their invaluable input and advice almost as easily reached.
In this episode, Erick is getting dangerously close to figuring out that Mitzy’s insights on their cases are more than just hunches. While Mitzy is still determined that he shouldn’t be told, I have a feeling that coming clean won’t wait for our heroine to be “ready”.
Silvertale’s characters have long since found their way to being among my favourites. Tracks and Flashbacks is a stellar entry into this series, with a great back story and – finally – some closure for Ms Moon as far as her mother and her death is concerned. I believe we’ll see a slightly different Mitzy now that some deep-seated questions have been laid to rest.
Silvertale never fails to weave an intricate, intriguing story. I sometimes wonder though, does the author do the weaving, or is she simply along for the ride while these characters write their own adventures? Either way, these books are page-turners you will not be able to put down till you've reached the rather shocking conclusion.
[I was fortunate to have received an Advance Reader Copy of these books. I was not, however, required to write a review. The opinions expressed herein are freely given and entirely my own.]
This is such a great series! Swords and Fallen Lords- This adventure finds Mitzy and the gang navigating the renaissance faire in search of a killer. There are so many interesting characters that we get to meet, and the author really captures the feel of the faire. Also, Erick on a horse for jousting! Yes!!! An old foe is once again plaguing the town and Mitzy and the sheriff have their hands full trying to stop them. I of course am always overjoyed when Mitzy and Erick make progress in their relationship. He is just the sweetest! 💕 If you're not reading this series, you should be. Wakes and High Stakes- This was another great adventure with the crew. Mitzy finds herself smack dab in the middle of a murder and she has to infiltrate a horrible family to figure it out. Meanwhile, Sheriff Erick gives Mitzy a gift that will change her life. These books just keep getting better! Tracks and Flashbacks- Mitzy and her boyfriend Erick travel to Arizona to try to uncover the truth about her mom's death when Mitzy was eleven. There are some really ruthless people who will do anything to keep the secrets of the past buried. Her and Erick have to face danger at every turn. I loved the action in this book and I loved the focus on Mitzy and Erick's developing relationship. Grandma and the gang back home didn't help as much as usual but that's okay. Mitzy just had to depend on her own skills and the help of Sheriff Erick. I think this book is my favorite of the series so far. There are quite a few really touching moments focusing on Mitzy and her mom that got me quite teary. This book is a really great addition to an excellent series.
Swords and Fallen Lords - Book 7 I really love this series. Mitzy and her antics never fail to please. Whilst on a date (finally) with the local hunky sheriff at the local Renaissance Faire, she witnesses a very public murder in the jousting arena. In spite of the sheriff's disapproval, she takes a job at the faire to try and work out , not only who, but how the murder was committed.
Wakes and High Stakes - Book 8 I do so love this series and I am always sorry to get to the end of each book. In this book Mitzy and her father attend the funeral of a local well-to-do woman who appears to have died of natural causes. The funeral is followed later that evening - by invitation - to a 1920's themed wake on a riverboat casino. The dead woman's much younger 9th husband then disappears. There is a murder and all each of the dead woman's family are suspect. Of course Mitzy decides to help her sheriff boyfriend to investigate - whether he wants her to or not. Her next surprise is a ghost - and not her usual one. This one says they were murdered and wants Mitzy's help to find the killer.
Tracks and Flashbacks - Book 9 After having received her mother's belongings, some ten years after her death, Mitzy and her boyfriend, Sheriff Eric Harper, go back to her home town of Sedona, Arizona. They intend to find out exactly what happened, as the cause of death didn't add up. It would seem that she had been murdered. Mitzy and Eric enlist the help of a Sedona detective to find out what they could and see if they could bring the killer to justice.
Swords and Fallen Lords: I like this series more with each book. Mitzy and Erick are on a date at the renaissance faire when one of the knights, during a joust, is murdered. It seems cut and dried, but there is so much more to it. This time, Erick is more receptive of Mitzy's help. I like that these two are getting closer. Good mystery. Wakes and High Stakes: Mitzy and her dad were invited to a viewing of a woman in the community who died and then to her wake. The wake is full of surprises. The woman's family hated her and were disappointed to find out that they would not inherit her money. When the woman's 9th husband is murdered at the wake, Mitzy knows she has to figure out what is going on. The woman's doctor put her death down to natural causes, but she was murdered. Mitzy uncovers a few family secrets and then Erick tells her something about her mother's death that changes everything. Can't wait to see what happens next. Tracks and Flashbacks: I really like how Mitzy is taking her relationship with Erick slow. She wants to do it right and not rush things. How could she not fall in love with him when he starts to help her find out about her mother's murder. He is even taking vacation time to go with her to Arizona to solve the cold, cold case. She starts remembering things that happened while there and they unearth some information that leads to a dirty cop. Who can they trust?
All my reviews are always voluntarily written. Swords and fallen lords: Set in a s simple small town, this mystery murder keeps a smile and a smirk on your face while these characters weave their way through solving a crime. Communicating with supposed familiars, magical mood rings, uncanny ( and somewhat untimely) psychic visions, spectral relatives and alchemist barristers..throw them all together and you get a really entertaining tale that adds a bit of sunshine to a gloomy day. A great read that is easy to recommend. Wakes and high stakes: Exactly the read I needed amidst all the doom and gloom and craziness going on in real life! Once again, this quirky sleuth teams up with her ghostma, mystical attorney, swoon worthy love interest, and talking feline to solve solve murders layered atop mysterious deaths. Secrets from the past gets revealed as well that touches everyone’s lives. This series is so immensely entertaining, I struggle with taking a break from its pages! That’s book success for me. Tracks and flashbacks: Finding out your parent died of unsavory circumstances, this intrepid psychic investigator once again baffles law enforcement with the help of her alchemical family lawyer and talking caracal. Let the fun begin! These characters have truly captured my attention, and this author ensures my entertainment level is kept high! Once again, I couldn’t figure out the actual culprit...exactly as it should be!
Book#7 - Swords & Fallen Lords: Fun at the Faire. Mitzy & Erick's date at the faire turns deadly during a jousting match. Mitzy goes undercover to help find clues. The clues lead them to an old foe. I love this series. It is original, well written with great characters. The stories will grab you from the first pages and take you on a fantastic adventure to the end. They will leave you wanting more. I look forward to reading the next book.
Book#8 - Wakes & High Stakes: I can't get enough of this series. I just love Mitzy & Ghost-ma. The other characters are awesome to. Story is well written and different from the other paranormal cozies & that's one of the many reason I enjoyed this book as well as the others in the series. I do hope that this is a long running series. I look forward to book#9.
Book#9 - Tracks & Flashbacks: I have read & enjoyed every book in this series, this one is my favorite so far. While I love Pin Cherry, it was great to see a glimpse of what Mitzys life was like in AZ. She & Erick go on a quest to find out what really happened to her mother all those years ago. I laughed, I cried, I really loved this one! I look forward to more.
I have enjoyed reading this series. I'm not big on dropping "f" bombs throughout dialogue in books. I don't spend a great deal of time with people that use salty language. An educated person will find other words to use instead of 4 letter words in their conversations. I also appreciate Kitty's self control. Building friendship, growing a more lasting love, doesn't require bedroom aerobics, beginning with the first kiss. I like the development of the Prime characters relationship based on mutual respect and friendship, which be be more long lasting than a quick roll in the hay.
I've the first nine books of the Misty Moon Mysteries so far and I must say that Trixie certainly knows how to spin a story and keep the readers on the edge of their seat waiting to see what happens next. These books are a must read for anyone that loves a little murder, ghosts and a lot of paranormal going on. Okay that's all for now I need to get the next 3 books in the series.
Mitzy and company are great, they are kinda funny but also some seriousness sneaks in. I also love how you never know exactly what state they are in, it's just referred to as almost Canada. I stumbled on Trixie through another series with several other authors and I fell in love with her books. Highly recommend and on to the next set.
Erick is a believer, he.just isn't sure he knows what he knows. He is a good man and he follows the live of his life but a day of reckoning is come by hiding in plain site is fading away.
So TRAGIC that most modern authors have such a Very Limited Vocabulary! They - for some unknown reason - abuse words that belong only to GOD viz. HOLY, JESUS, GOD, CHRIST. In this context, they also use horrific oxymorons. This is blasphemy and Will be severely punished in due course. Believe it!
These are fun clean cozy mysteries, that I would recommend to anyone 14 and up. The paranormal aspects are not frightening but interesting enough to hold my attention.
Mitzy goes to a Halloween party in an asylum built on top of speak easy. There she finds her ancestor and two other ghosts. She wolves the problem that allows them to pass on.
Don't miss this collection of the wonderful Mitzy Moon series! I've read all of the books in this boxed set and they're some of my favorite books in this series.
Enjoyed books 7,8, & 9. The series continues to be full of different adventures and characters. Mitzy continues to learn more of her special skills. I have downloaded the next 3 books.
Another great Mitzi moon story. Way too short. Looking forward to the next book. I had read box set 1 thru 7, I wish this one would have been 8 thru 10.
