Stockton
As the CTO of Steele Conglomerate, I work hard, and play harder, if you catch my meaning. I – and the ladies – like it that way.
My mother has other ideas.
For the last six years, she’s been trying to marry me off – because it’s time for grandchildren. She’s even started dropping by my office with prospects — on a daily basis.
But I’m going to beat her at her own game. Not only am I going to convince her I’m getting married, I’m going to pick the last woman my mother would ever choose for me… my crazy, inappropriate-for-me-in-every-way assistant, Penelope Fischer — Penny.
What could possibly go wrong?

Penny
I am So. Over. Stockton Ford. Just because he’s the hottest bachelor in Kansas City with the biggest wallet does not make him all that. I should know. Not only do I spend night and day helping him fight cyber bad guys and generally being his Girl Friday, I’m tasked with managing his personal life – his mother, his girlfriends... you get the picture. So yeah, I’m done. Done giving into that megawatt smile, the mischievous twinkle in his eye, and the pleading tone in his voice that somehow I can’t resist.
I’m quitting.
Today.
Until he makes me an offer I can’t refuse, and I say yes for all the wrong reasons.

A fake engagement workplace romp featuring epic pranks, dirty... ahem... and a very happy ending.

YAY … The Titans of Tech are #winning once again for me! *throws confetti*

Okay so Penny was a delight to read and everything Stockton didn’t even know he needed in his life, and vice versa! Their story sparked! It was humorous and fun to read and oh so sexy at times!

Tessa brought her a-game to this one and I would highly rec this story to all romance fiction readers!

Tessa Layne once again manages to create an exciting story where the boundaries between work and pleasure completely fade, and passion culminates in an unexpected explosion... A book that will keep your attention until the very end with its unique mixture of humor and gentle sensuality.
Is there anything more exciting than what is forbidden? To see it every day, to desire it, to imagine every day without being allowed to approach and touch ..... And then a poorly planned move allows you to indulge in that sinful enjoyment at least for a short time and to fulfill all those fantasies that have been tormenting you for years... But after so many years, will one short period be enough to satisfy all those passions? What if the lie becomes more and more like a truth that is hard to accept but even harder to ignore?
The story of Penny Fischer and Stockton Forde is a fantastic follow up to the first book in the Titans of Tech series. The author manages to keep the ease in the story, although at times she touches on quite serious topics, such as addiction, life in a foster family, juvenile delinquency ... And gives a sympathetic overview of a responsible society that knows how to accept and overcome shortcomings from the past. The author very skillfully intertwines the thoughts of the main characters, mixing parts of the past and the present in an absolutely exciting office romance, which will delight you with its interesting plot and even more vivid characters. Penny delighted me with her unique blend of defiance and humility. A girl who with her eccentric appearance and brilliant mind stands out from the stereotype of a modern heroine. The way she hides her vulnerability is something that will make you think a little deeper. Stockton Forde with his self-confidence and cockiness is a person who manages to irritate and delight you at the same time. Brilliant in his field, but illiterate in emotional intelligence and relationships with others. His behavior hides many truths, which he himself tries to deny. But his possessiveness and protectiveness, along with the swoon-worthy statements make him a great book boyfriend. The way he ‘deals’ with his mother and the women that visit him is definitely something that will make you laugh. Their connection as well as their explosive chemistry are masterfully conveyed in every scene, which makes it seem as if the emotion simply drips from every perfectly fitted sentence. The supporting characters are solidly constructed, not too exposed but quite enough to contribute to the whole story.
If you want to enjoy a modern fairy tale, a bit dirtier version of it. A story that contains all the elements of Disney fairy tales, with added dashes of eroticism and snarky banter, then you should definitely not miss this short story. Believe me, you will enjoy it.

"What a great follow up to the first book in the Titans of Tech series. Usually the second book doesn’t quite measure up to the first one, but that is definitely not the case with the Stockton & Penny’s story.
Stockton was everything I hoped he would be. I adored his self assuredness, but it was when he realized how he actually felt for Penny melted my heart.
Penny was positively a remarkable character. She was very much her own person and played by her own rules. The way she managed Stockton’s mother was beyond brilliant. I loved it and her!!!

Overall Grade: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What do you get when you cross two highly-intelligent technology experts, one a CIO and the other a twelve years younger phenom hacker? Well, you get fireworks. Oh, and a fake engagement. Plus a hero and heroine who are blind to the other’s attraction. Add in a snooty mother of the hero and her brood of upper-crust biddies, and you find yourself wrapped in the pages of Tessa Layne’s O Magnet, the second full novel of her Titans of Tech series.

Penny and Stockton, the heroine and hero of the O Magnet, are the type of hero and heroine you can’t help but fall in love with. For one, Stockton lives his life as a direct affront to his mother. He is wealthy, successful, athletic, and handsome, and he is protective in a way that I don’t think he realizes for much of the story. He is instantly attracted to Penny, but given their age difference, he spurns his attraction believing it would be inappropriate. This forces him to choose the company of many other women, oftentimes women who he knows he can never have something more. This, unfortunately, flies in the face of his meddling mama who wants to see him married and with children.

Penny is similarly complicated. Her past is a tragic one, and she creates an armor to protect herself from further hurts. She pines for Stockton from afar, continually becoming wounded by his affronts. She is also the smartest person in the story, and this is ultimately what attracts Stockton to her. There is nothing better than an independent, intelligent heroine except when she needs the love of a hero to heal her broken parts, and Tessa Layne writes this well in O Magnet.

Like Harrison and Sparky in Pu$$y Magnet, Stockton and Penny engage in verbal warfare for much of the book. There are times when it becomes tedium, mostly through Penny’s characterization. However, Layne makes it clear that this is only part of her armor and her intelligence.

As this is a fake engagement set in the upper echelons of society, it makes for a barrage of moments when Penny challenges the thinking of this higher social strata. This also creates some of the most comedic moments in the romance.

Like the other books in this series, O Magnet is steamy and Layne has integrated those moments so that they feel organic to Penny and Stockton’s journey. They do not overwhelm O Magnet, instead, they act as moments of revelation for its hero and heroine.

If I had to compare Pu$$y Magnet and O Magnet, the first two full books of the Titans of Tech series, I would say that they are comparable. Unlike the other book, O Magnet has a nice balance of point of view between Stockton and Penny. What this does is evenly distributes the affection for the two characters.

What I would change in this book is the quick resolution of their challenge. I don’t want to divulge more of the plot points, but I thought that the last quarter of the book could have used more development.

Like Pu$$y Magnet, I found myself attached to Penny and Stockton’s story. Tessa Layne’s O Magnet is a fun, feminist read. It matches well with the other books in the series, and it leaves you ready for more.

Adored this story!

"I've never met so much brilliance and sass wrapped up in one human."

Penny Fischer and Stockton Forde have worked with each other at Steele Conglomerate for four years. From the first moment they met, there's always been a zing between them. Penny's age and the no-fraternisation rule has always meant that she was off-limits, not to mention her prickly, sassy personality. However, in a mad moment, Stockton ties Penny to him and makes her an offer she can't refuse. It means that he won't lose Steele Conglomerate's best asset but also gives him the chance to finally kiss her.

"His mouth, when it lands on mine, is alternately ferocious and demanding then soft and coaxing."

The electricity between Penny and Stockton was stunning. I loved their dynamic and their verbal exchanges. She gives him so much stick but he enjoys riling her up in return. I loved her take-no-prisoners attitude and her shock factor. When they finally cross the line, they are super hot and so romantic. There were also moments that were funny, emotional, and downright swoony! Such a fabulous, easy read.

Penny had to overcome a less than idyllic childhood but thanks to her genius computer skills she not only found a career she enjoys working for Steele Conglomerate and Stockton but it changed the course of her life. She is a force to be reckoned with and doesn’t back down from anyone or anything.

Stockton has been attracted to Penny for a while, but she is his employee. When he needs her assistance to distract his matchmaking mother lines will be crossed and neither of their lives will ever be the same.

Witty banter, hot chemistry and Penny has a gift when it comes to challenging Stockton and is exactly who he needs in his life.

We kind of got teased with Penny and Stockton's story a little bit in Steele and Sparky's story. And ever since then, I was curious as to their story. And I loved their story! I loved their banter and how rebellious Penny is. She is a remarkable character and very much her own person. But I feel like their story is a bit rushed, especially at the end there. Or was I just reading this one too fast?🙈

Nonetheless, I enjoyed this riveting and addictive story. I can't wait for the next one!

Good read that flows, even the sex parts are not overdone and is still written great. Penny is 17 and was head for jail when Stockton scoops in to take control over her cyber skills. What neither one wants to except is that sparks fly between them. Will they ever accept their feelings for each other? Can Penny ever overcome her past? Can Stockton ever see past working 24/7.

Penny's worked for Stockton for years, ever since she was 19 and he gave a young hacker a choice: work for me or go to prison. Yep, she made the right choice, but not without making him give her a bunch of concessions, mostly to do with her ignoring the office dress code, and sassing the hell out of him when he deserves it. Now she's at her 4 year anniversary and she's finally decided she's quitting and accepting a job in California. It will be the best thing for her - a huge salary, working at a startup, and most significantly, away from the man she's been in unrequited love with for far too long. But when he throws a hail Mary at her and manipulates her into being his fake fiancée to keep his mom and her matchmaking away from him, Penny wonders if she'll be able to keep her heart intact when the invevitable end happens.

Stockton's been attracted to Penny since the day he met her, but he's always convinced himself he was far too old for her, and that he shouldn't mix business with pleasure. But now that she's his fake fiancée, he's determined to find out if kissing her is going to taste as good as he's always imagined it. He just has to make sure he doesn't break her heart when the inevitable fake breakup happens. But is it really fake when the feelings have always been there?

O Magnet is sweet, seriously hot, and a great sequel to Pu$$y Magnet. I found Stockton to be even more delicious than his friend Harrison from Pu$$y Magnet, and Penny is a sassy, feisty spitfire of a woman with the smartest brain I've read in a long time. I loved how much she threw sass at Stockton, and how much it actually turned him on, especially when she called him Sir in that bratty tone he loved so much. This series has been excellent so far - can't wait for the next tech titan to fall in love!

It's been four years since Penny became part of Steele Conglomerate and she plans on quitting, today. She's done with Stockton and his women and his mother interrupting the work day. She has an offer in California and she's taking it. At least that's what she thinks...

We learn how she came to be an employee which in itself is unusual, but with her skills and intelligence totally understandable. We learn of Stockton's involvement with that and also he'd been attracted to her even then.

Stockton has mother problems, she keeps showing up at the office with 'acceptable' woman for him to take to lunch. He needs a break from the string of women he isn't interested in. The idea he has seems perfect but the way he does it leaves much to be desired. His mother with a new woman in tow, the woman he's been seeing all collected in the reception area get to hear his announcement at the same time as Penny. They are engaged, and while she's fuming she plays along until they leave. Then the negotiations begin, they were awesome. However the event they need to attend and the ring he buys for her that fills the bill on expensive and gaudy is priceless.

The shock value of her ring combined with the snooty friends of Stockton's mother, has the snark just oozing from Penny.

The thing that these two take a lot of time to realize is they are perfect for each other. They might deny it but they have been flirting since day one. We get some glimpses into the past and learn much about Penny and her mother as well.

I laughed through much of this book, although I did breakdown into tears as well. The chemistry between Stockton and Penny is palpable and the heat between them sizzles off the pages.

I'm looking forward to the next book in this series 'Baby Magnet'!

O Magnet is the second book in the Titans of Tech book, but could be read as a stand alone. Penny has worked for Stockton for four years, but just as she’s about to turn in her notice, Stockton proposes. A fake engagement to appease his mother, but when real emotions mix into their arrangement, will Penny still be able to walk away with her heart in one piece?

Oh. My. Goodness! It’s been a long time since I started a book and just powered through it in one sitting, but Penny and Stockton absolutely stole my attention and heart! I adored this couple! I loved how Penny would push Stockton and how he would support her in his own ways. They weren’t perfect characters, but they were perfect for each other. Penny is one to only depend on herself, refuses to be anyone except herself, and won’t apologize for her wildness. I loved her so much! She did have a vulnerable side that she protected fiercely, except for when it came to Stockton. And oh my, what a perfect man for her! Stockton is bold, smart, protective, possessive, and I adored how he would know perfectly how to handle Penny, yet was clueless when it came to his own mother. I adored their interactions and banter and steamy connection! I was flipping pages and completely invested in their relationship and with how their journey would play out. If I had any issues with this book, it would be that I felt the ending was a little rushed in comparison to how well the beginning was built up, but I loved how everything plays out in the end! I have really enjoyed this series so far and I can’t wait to see what will come out of the next book!

Did you read the first book in the 'Titans of Tech' series? If you did then you know what a great piece of romance writing that was and you won't be disappointed with 'O Magnet' the 2nd book in this outstanding series.

Stockton and Penny's story does come with a 'Swoon' Alert so be prepared. Stockton lives and breaths Steele Conglomerate the company he and his friends set up back in college. Stockton spends nearly ever waking minute at work with his trusty side kick Penny. Penny at 23 is 12 years younger than Stockton; meeting 4 years ago Penny was a brilliant hacker who was one step away from the law when she got offered a job with Steele, since that moment the pair have tip toed around their attraction; but Penny who spent her childhood with a drug addict mom and then put in foster care doesn't conform with her dyed black and pink hair piercings and tattoos but you should never judge a book by its cover and this is certainly the case with Penny, she is someone that I would be proud to call a friend!

Now at 35 Stockton's mother is on the path once again to throw as many eligible women in front of her son as a potentially wife, someone completely different to Penny. When Stockton needs a way out he turns to Penny for help what could go wrong.....oh Stockton what have you done and are you really ready for sassy, brilliant and beautiful kind Penny? Oh I hope so because deep down Stockton needs Penny as much as Penny needs him!

This is book 2 in the series and I absolutely adored it. It easily stands alone so you don't have to read the first book but it was pretty awesome too.

This book stars Penny who is 23 and Stockton who is 35. They have known each other and worked together for 4 years. They met when she was 19 and was a hacker and got into some trouble. I loved how this book showed the past and how they first met.

In this story Stockton's mother, Honore is driving him insane by trying to find him a wife because she wants grandchildren. When he decides to save himself the hassle and convinces Penny to be his fake bride.

While Penny is young she is a wild and super smart woman who loves to dress very gothy. She was the funnest character I have read in awhile and I loved how she refused to change and she was so authentic.

These two are perfect together and I loved how they both come to realise that. Stockton is pretty awesome as well and I loved how he could not imagine a life without Penny. He was willing to do just about anything for her and adored him for how great he was to Penny from the first moment they meet.

This was one of the best fake fiancee type of romances I have ever read and I absolutely adored every minute of their path to love and romance.

I have read all of the books in this series and have been reviewing Tessa Layne’s books since she published Mr White. I have found that her skills as a novelist have improved a great deal. “O Magnet” is the best yet. Tessa does a great job bringing her readers from the present then flashing to the past, gradually revealing the complicated relationship, and the emotions accompanying it, between two people who have kept secrets from each other and, in Stockton’s case, from himself. The entire story unfolded in a way that kept the reader from knowing too much, or not enough, too soon. If I were to find any element of the story less to my liking, I feel that a little more time could have been devoted to the conclusion of the story, it was as if 90% of the story was dedicated to the conflicts and emotional pitfalls of the hero and heroine and then the resolution of their conflict is taken care of in 5%, leaving the last for the epilogue. It was rather abrupt. Regardless, I enjoyed every page from beginning to end and am looking forward to the author’s next story about the fourth member of this crew team, whose story looks like it will be the most interesting one yet.

Stockton has to much to worry about than his mother trying to marry him off. As the Chief Technical Officer at Steele Conglomerate he and his team are constantly working to close the gaps in systems. But his mother shows up every day on the dot holding out hope for a daughter in law.

Penny has worked for Stockton for 4 years. After he rescued her from the biggest mistake she could ever make. Now that she has fulfilled her four year obligation to Steele Conglomerates, she plans to turn in her resignation and get away from the one man who she has had sparks for.

As always, as Stockton’s mother tries to throw another woman his way, he’s going to put a stop to it. He tells his mother that he’s engaged. To Penny. All are shocked.

But Penny is not going down without a fight, she agrees to Stockton’s deception only for the most gaudy, extravagant, and obscene price trying to get him to change his mind. But that doesn’t deter Stockton. It only fuels his determination.

It also makes him realize is that he’s always had an eye for Penny. From the moment he picked her up and offered her job with Steele Conglomerates.

Will Stockton and Penny keep to the farce or will they finally part their separate ways?

I'm very new to Tessa Layne's world, but I can tell you that I couldn't get enough of O Magnet whatsoever. It's the story of Penny & Stockton, who have been working together at Steele Conglomerate for several years now. They've had chemistry since the moment they met but there are rules in place that made sure that they didn't cross that line with each other. However, Stockton's mother is determined to parade woman after woman in front of him so he'll get married & give her grandbabies. It gets to be so chaotic that he gets Penny on board with a crazy scheme to get his mother off of his back, not to mention, maybe just maybe he'll figure out that he needs Penny like Penny needs him. It's a journey that kept me very entertained throughout because these two have the best interactions since Penny is totally willing to go toe to toe with anything he throws at her. Oh, and that crazy chemistry isn't going to be denied anymore since they're spending some extra time together, so how long will it be before feelings are being caught?! You know what to do to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I have decided that I need to read the rest of this series as they drop!

I love office romances. O Magnet is one that ticks so many boxes for me. Stockton & Penny have great chemistry, and the way they banter & negotiate is often times downright hilarious.

First introduced to me in book 1 of the Titans of Tech series, Penny was painted as one of the unofficial partners at Steele Conglomerate. Her intelligence was only hinted at, but in this book, we get a better look at just how important her work is to the partnership. We also see how her personality has been shaped, and the reasons why she feels the need to keep walls up around her. To his credit, Stockton recognises this, and tries to do little, subtle things for her, hoping she realises he cares in a way that wouldn't make her cut and run. So, it is only when he is faced with the very real threat of her departure from his life that he begins to bring out the big guns. He is afraid of not being enough for Penny, but soon realises that life without her will not be enough for him.

I am excited to read the next book, and I recommend this book wholeheartedly.

Uptight Tech CTO & Quirky, Brilliant Sidekick!!!

Stockton is CTO of Steele Conglomerate – technology and security company. He was raised with soirées and cotillions, and now that he is thirty-five is receiving pressure from his mom to marry and produce an heir.

Penny is an ex-hacker who was plucked out of jail to work for Steele Conglomerate– they would be sunk without her.

Penny is planning to quit at 4 PM on the day we meet her. Ready for a new opportunity, more money, no longer watching the revolving door of dates for Stockton, and no longer fending off his mother.

Pushed to the wall, Stockton suddenly announces they are engaged! An amazing list of conditions finally has Penny agreeing to the façade.

Two people with much in common, yet worlds apart. The line of pretense becomes murky.
Fabulous characters and world-building. You feel for both of them. It is entertaining, snarky and at times emotional. Romance at its best.

This is the 2nd book in this amazing series and is Stockton and Penny’s story. Stockton is a workaholic and one of the most eligible bachelors, and his mom is on a mission to parade the perfect socialite, heiress or debutant in front of him. Stockton decides that he is going to produce his own woman, and he choices his assistant Penny. Penny is his sassy and crazy assistant who has been working with him for the past 4-years, which has had them dancing around each other for the same amount of time, and Stockton makes her an offer she cannot refuse. This is a well written story which flows seamlessly, and is emotional, steamy, romantic, and with witty banter, which had me enthralled throughout this riveting and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend for all.

I absolutely loved and needed O' Magnet which is the second book in the Titan's Tech Series.

This is wonderfully sexy, charismatic and funny I loved Stockton for how arrogant and frantic his life is the but the one thing he's drawn to is his Assistant Penny who is a magical character she doesn't fear Stockton like most people if anything she lives to drive him insane with her crazy hair and office attire and how spunky she is in general! I love how she handles folk and exclusive people like Stockton's mother who's simply stunned by her son's somewhat false engagement.

The last few chapters for me are simply breathtaking I wanted to live in Stockton and Penny's world forever.

Tessa Layne is a new author to me but from reading this book I will definitely be reading more of her work in the near future.

Penny and Stockton couldn’t have been more different. She was queen of the goth look and he was button down and suits. She was a reformed hacker who chose working for Steele Conglomerate over a complimentary stay in federal prison. He not only had a headache named Penny, but also one he called his mother who brought him a revolving line of women she deemed suitable for marriage and babies.

When they concocted a fake engagement, I couldn’t help but laugh. On the outside, they were like night and day. But inside, they were more alike than either could have imagined or admit. And this is what made them work! I loved this couple for their banter and quick wit with each other. The stories in this series just get better.

Stockton and Penny's story is an opposites attraction, age-gap, fake relationship, and office romance. Their banters are amusing to read and their chemistry is off-the-charts. Penny is so adorable. She is smart, intelligent, and sassy. But I also feel heartbreaking for her for quietly being in love with Stockton for 4 years and she have to watch him with his women. Thankfully, Stockton finally acknowledges his feeling. I also like how possessive he is. It's hot. And I have to say I am surprised by the author because I expect some drama about their arrangement but nope, the drama is on Penny's part with her mother and it is in a minimal part of the story. The book is well written and Layne writes it so smooth that I can read it without boring but I still think it lacks of something so I decide to give it 4.5 stars.

Stockton is the CTO of Steel Conglomerate and he is about to hire a new hacker to help them develop the defenses for his business. He got surprised when he sees she is female and very young.
Penny is a hacker who starts working for Steel Conglomerate with a contract of four years. After that, she is free to go.
The story is well-written and the characters well-developed as is expected in any novel by Tessa Layne.
I loved Penny. She is so feisty and sassy. She is not afraid of speaking what she really has in her mind. She made me laugh most of the time.
I liked Stockton also. He is bossy but, at the same time, he is protective of her. This is my favourite in the series so long.

What a great read!!

I liked the chemistry between Penny and Stockton. I loved that Stockton was as interested in her mind as her body. He is a hard driven singular focus man who needs someone to keep in on his toes.

Penny was someone I had to warm up to in the beginning. I understand that the author was going for the whole opposites attract troupe and I know that while reading we should dispense belief but in no universe would a company let an administrative assistant to the CTO where what she wears and blatantly disregard him and insult him in front of others.

After awhile, I was able to get over this but took awhile. I liked when they were on the same page of sticking it to his mother.

Book 2 in the Titans of Tech Series. Stockton is a workaholic playboy with a mother who wants grandchildren already. Penny is the hard working assistant of Stockton and she is sick of his revolving door of women and annoying mother. When enough is enough Stockton decides to announce a surprise engagement....it even surprises Penny! Will this keep his mother away? Will this really work? Will this back fire on them? What will they do with all this extra chemistry they have in the office? This is definitely a quick sexy read!

Awesome reading

Stockton is a rich playboy whose mother is determined to see him married. She's constantly trying to set him up. Penny is a brilliant hacker who was hired by Stockton four years ago. She's rebellious, mouthy and doesn't back down from Stockton. She's also been secretly in love with him since they met. Stockton comes up with the idea of a fake engagement to get his mother to leave him alone and Penny reluctantly agrees. The dialogue is witty and the story intriguing as it unfolds.

Another wonderful story but Tessa Layne. This office romance was a fun & sassy story filled with lots of humor and chemistry. A fake engagement helps them to realize how much they really do love the other. I loved that there wasn’t a bunch of angst in this story. And, loved how Ms. Layne gives us some background insight as the story unfolds along with what each are thinking too. The scenes with his mom & her socialite friends are priceless. Another great story, Tessa Layne!!!

O Magnet is book 2 in the Titans of Tech series by Tessa Layneand a great addition.

Up Next is CTO of Steele Conglomerate, Stockton Ford and his assistant Penelope Fischer.

Stockton‘s mother wants grandchildren and she parades lady prospects to him daily, and he depends on Penelope to manage this all. He finally has had enough of his mother parading these ladies so he decides to make Penelope the offer of a lifetime.

What starts out as a fake engagement could end up as so much more…only time will tell!
