They took her life and forever love.

It’s time to take them back.

Shane Banderas is ready to move on with his life. As a deputy in Splendor, a town he’d grown to love, the time had come to buy a place, marry, and start a family. Six years had passed since losing the only woman he’d ever loved. Years he’d never get back. Time to live for the present, and with luck, a new kind of future.

Angela Baldwin refuses to live under the strict standards of Boston society. Ready to break away, she and her close friend head west toward the love stolen from her six long years before. Refusing to consider he may have already married another, she boards the train. She has little going for her except a determination to win him back.

Shane can’t believe what is right in front of him. Angie, the woman who’d left him years ago, is standing on the boardwalk, as if she belongs there. He knew the truth about her. Trust isn’t a word she understands.

With no desire to rekindle feelings for an old love, he continues his plans to court another. A beautiful woman with a sharp mind and quick wit. A woman he can trust and share a future.

Endangering any future is the threat of an old adversary seeking vengeance for a perceived wrong. An outlaw who enjoys killing, including those close to his prey. Everyone important to Shane.

Silent Sunset, book eighteen in the Redemption Mountain historical western romance series, is a novel with an HEA and no cliffhanger.

Shane and Angela were young sweethearts. Shane planned on asking Angela for her hand when she was sent away to Boston. Shane was told she was dead.

Thinking the woman that he loved was dead, he made his way across the country and wound up in the town of Splendor. He stayed and became a deputy. It has been years since the love of his life has been gone and Shane decides that it is time to move on with his life and marry and have a family. No sooner had he decided this than a ghost from his past showed up on the stage, engaged to the man in her traveling party. When the man is murdered, Angela goes back to Boston to care for his mother.

Months later, just as Shane has decided to court a lady in town, Angela is back. He doesn't want to have feelings for her. She left him and let him believe she was dead.

Angela was sent to Boston against her will and wasn't able to contact Shane. After pining for him, she gave up and tried to go through life. Her friend asked her to marry him and she agreed but when he is murdered in the town Shane is a deputy in, she heads back to Boston to care for his mother. Seeing Shane was a shock and brought up a lot of feelings. She decides to head back to Splendor to see Shane and explain things. But when she gets back, she finds Shane is interested in another.

Before they can see if they can work things out, Shane's past comes back and puts them in danger. Will Shane be able to forgive Angela and can he keep her safe from his past? Or will he stay with the woman he had plans to court?

I liked this book and I've loved this series. This book left me with questions though about things that happened and other people in the story. I wondered why they were mentioned and why it was part of the story. I can't wait for the next book to see if I can find my answers.

I didn’t love this book the first time I read it, in fact I needed to read it all again to enjoy it.
That doesn’t mean that the story and character are not well written or that the series isn’t one of my favourite.
This story is a second chance romance and I do think you do need to read the previous book before this one to really understand the characters.
Sometimes there is just something about a book that just doesn’t suit, maybe it was the mood when I first read it that set the tone for me. I didn’t fully like the characters like I usually do.
Almost all the books in this series have been an instant hit for me, mostly I laugh, cry and find them such a page Turner that sleep is lost and housework forgotten.
I enjoyed this book more the second time I read it but I did read the previous book before reading this title again .
This book was given to me for an honest review and of course this is only my opinion.
Still a great read in a truly wonderful series by a fantastic author.

(4.5) This can be read as a stand alone though I would recommend indulging in the others and watching the town and the people of Redemption grow. Angela leaves Boston with her friend Martha. Martha has never been west and has an avid interest in everything. Martha provides the humor in this story. Angela shows the strength and determination of reaching for what she wants. Shane our deputy has lost his hold on the fragile peace he thought he had found when Angela walks back into his life. The topper is a cruel vindictive killer is out to threaten him and his. This story shares points of view from most of the major characters and was easy to follow. I really like that some of the background characters came through and I wish them well :). I am not a fan of second chances, as they usually drag on with all the mistakes, but I like Shirleen Davies so I asked for the arc. I am glad I did, nothing was dragged on and in my honest opinion, Deputy Shane waffled more than our Angela, yup - woman rule. Who else wants Noah to build something for them? It is always a pleasure to revisit Redemption, its like going back to your favorite vacation spot and meeting up with old friends. Thank you for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

Will Shane and Angela get there second chance at love?

Angela Baldwin has returned from Boston with her friend Martha to Splendor. She is back to see if Deputy Shane Banderas still has feelings for her. They were separated from each other six years ago. He was told she had died. When in actuality was sent away to the Winslows in Boston. Her parents had tricked her on getting her on a train and sent her to Boston to never return.
Now that Edith Winslow has passed, Angela has inherited the entire Winslow estate. Angela never knew that she was adopted by the Baldwin family. She was the daughter of Edith cousin. Angela found this out while going through Edith's personal effects.
She came back to find out whether she had a chance to talk to Shane about their past and if they had a future together. Otherwise, she would move on to California.
They had another problem, Sutton. He was after Deputy Shane Banderas for killing his best friend. Sutton was scheduled to hang for murder, bank robbery, and many devious crimes. But some of his men rescued him before his execution and escaped. But his friend got shot in the process. So Sutton has been out with revenge to kill every deputy that was involved in his arrest and killing of his friend.
Angela and Shane are now in his crosshairs for this revenge. He has it all planned on how he is going to get Angela to watch him kill Shane. But he gets a surprise he never saw coming.
Can Angela and Shane survive and get their second chance at love?
Great story of misunderstanding and second chance at love. Loved both characters and their heartbreaking stories.
Great story by Shirleen Davies. I can't wait until the next book.

Shane Banderas and Angela Baldwin grew up together and fell in love. Unfortunately, immediately after she accepted his proposal, Angela’s father told Shane that she had died. That was six years go. Since then, Shane has moved to splendor and now is one of the town’s deputies.

However, several months ago, when Angela and her fiancé arrive in Splendor, Shane discovers that Angela is really alive. After her fiancé is murdered during her stay, instead of turning to Shane, Angela leaves town again. Because of this, Shane believes that Angela had lied about her death so she could get out of marrying him. The result: Shane is bitter, angry and heartbroken.

Shane finally plans to move on, marry and start a family. However, this is exactly when Angela returns to Splendor. She hopes that, when she explains that her father had forced her to leave, she will be able to win Shane back. However, Shane no longer trusts her and continues with his plans to court someone else.

At the same time, an enemy of Shane arrives in Splendor, seeking revenge. He believes that Shane murdered his best friend years ago. He plans to kill Shane and anyone who is important to him.

This is a fascinating book. Shane is very confused. He is upset with Angela and doesn’t’ trust her. However he realizes that he will always love her, and he considers her his soul mate. Angela, too, still loves Shane and hopes he will take her back. But she knows that her parents’ actions have caused a gigantic rift in their relationship. Angela’s determination to win him back is, and Shane’s confusion is delightful.

Book 19 in the Redemption Mountain Series doesn’t disappoint readers. In it you catch up with Shane Banderas and Angela Baldwin who had been childhood sweethearts but were separated and Shane had believed Angela was dead until she came to visit Splendor with her Fiancé and his Mother in book 18 but after her fiancé’s death she travelled back east with his mother and Shane thought he had lost her again. After her fiancé’s mother’s death and finding a major secret from her past Angela decides to travel back to Splendor in hope of working things out with Shane but there are secrets and distrust on both sides to work through. In addition Shane is in danger from a gang of outlaws after killling one of them in the line of duty and the ruthless leader of the gang is determined to get revenge putting everyone who work together to make the town of Splendor and the surrounding ranches safe from any threats on high alert. Another page turner from Shirleen Davies with characters both familiar and new and a great storyline.

It’s an amazing story-line. Shane and Angela parted six years ago, saw each other when she came to Splendor with a fiancee’, and, now she has returned to Montana since everyone she cared about in Boston was now gone and the love of her life was in Splendor. There are long talks of lost time, trust issues and other past situations that must be resolved but, could love blossom once again? This author does a remarkable job of rounding up the characters of past books and giving them a place in this book that makes the story whole and wonderful. I love visiting Splendor and the fabulous people that make the community. Even old Enoch is finding a home. My heart is still pounding as The End of the book came closer and now I have to wait for the next adventure. Thanks for the ARC copy so I could catch up with beautiful people.

Another great book in the series. Shane was in love with Angela back in his hometown. But Angela was a high society girl and Shane wasn't good enough for her. Or so her father thought. He shipped her off to another town and told Shane that she died. So Shane tried to move on with his life but never forgot Angela. He settled in Splendor and became a deputy. He was trying to get on with his life. Then one day, Angela gets off the stagecoach with a fiance. Her fiance was murdered and she went back east. But, things progressed and her guardian died and she decided that she wanted to see Shane again if he was still in Splendor. Needless to say, Shane had decided that he needed to get on with his wife and was contemplating courting one of the single ladies in town. Then Angela gets off the stagecoach in Splendor again. What will Shane do and will Angela fight for the man she loves?

This is intense, suspenseful and romantic. Shane and Angela knew each other as children, they were in love and planned to marry, until Angela was forced to leave him. Years later they ran into each other in Splendor, but Angela was engaged to someone else, so nothing could come of the reunion. Angela returned to Boston again, but as soon as her deceased fiancé's mother died, she headed back to Splendor, and Shane. Things are not easy between them, there are secrets and danger that threaten to keep them apart. Every book in this series has been exciting and full of romance, and this book didn't disappoint. Each can be read alone, but it's nice to know the background of the other characters mentioned. I highly recommend the series.

I loved this wonderful historical western romance that was so well written I felt like I had traveled back to the old west and was completely involved in all that was happening from start to finish. I loved the undeniable chemistry and heartwarming second-chance at love between Splendor deputy Shane Banderas and Angela Baldwin. Ms. Davies has written another must-read in the Redemption Mountain series and I feel like I know many of the characters while being introduced to new ones. If you enjoy well-crafted historical western romance, don't miss "Silent Sunset". I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review. I also purchased a copy to read again later.

Wonderful historical romance in the Redemption Mountain series. The characters are so engaging, realistic and help draw you into the story. Both the characters and storyline are fantastic. It’s a page turner with the suspense, mystery and intrigue. There is a second chance romance possible between Shane and Angela. The characters from previous books make appearances giving the feel of friendship and community. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I received a complimentary copy of the book and chose to write a review.

Shane and Angela are reunited again when Angela returns to Splendor with her friend, Martha following the death of her dead fiance's mother. Shane had already been trying to move on and gave her a chilly reception but Angela is determined not to be chased away until Shane listens to her reasons for leaving before. Shane is also trying to deal with the return of an escaped criminal to Splendor who is seeking revenge against Shane who had him previously convicted for murder. Can Shane and Angela survive all their history and the threat to Shane and Splendor? Read an ARC for an honest review.

Shane and Angela

They had fallen in love years ago. Her father separated them. Shane was told that she had died. Years later they meet again in Splendor. Her fiance Carson was killed and Angela had to return to Boston. Carson's mother lost her will to live with the death of her son. After she got things straightened out, Angela decided to go back to Splendor to see if there was any hope for Shane and herself.
A beautiful story of love, betrayal, second chance, revenge. I'm always glad to return to Splendor and sad to leave. But inbetween such great reading joy.

I’ve always enjoyed westerns and the Redemption Mountain series by Shirleen Davies is one of the best. This is the story of Deputy Shane Banderas and his childhood sweetheart, Angela Baldwin. As is typical of a Davies western romance, the action starts in Chapter 1 and doesn’t let up until the end of the book.
If you love westerns and romance, this is the series for you. I truly enjoyed this one and I am looking forward to the next.

Shane and Angela were going to marry years ago, but her father sent her to Boston and told Shane she'd died.
She stayed with the Winslow family and was engaged to Carson, then he was killed and she had to go back to Boston to help his mother.
Now his mother has died and she's making her way back to Splendour to see if Shane is still available.

As usual, a great romantic suspense from Shirleen.

A young man who had the love of his life ready to marry him when her father shipped her off to relatives in Boston. He decided to move away so he would after he had been told she died . He moves to Splender and became a deputy when he meets his love while she is on a holiday with her fiancé. This story is both intriguing and a mystery waiting to be solved. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

In this second chance romance we find Shane and Angela who have had nothing but bad luck in the romance they once shared but when she comes back into his life he is courting someone else. I was hoping they could find they way back to each other but with him courting another some danger also comes back to town. Will Shane and Angela get their second chance or will he choose another?

Silent Sunset

I really liked this story, Shane really liked Angelia when they were very young. For some reason he never understood, she was put on a train and sent away. He was told by her dad that she had died. One day, getting off the stage coach, there she was, Angelia, more to come. Revwnge by an outlaw, bank robbwries, and killings galore. Enjoy

Just as Shane Banderas is getting his life together and looking forward to settling down with a wife and starting a family, his former fiance comes to Splendor. Shane wonders why. It's been 6 years, and Angela is determined to see if she and Shane still have feelings for each other. Angela brings her best friend Martha, who is quite humorous at times--everything in frontier life is new to her, and she's quite inquisitive. She's looking for a husband, asks a lot of questions, and wants to know more about the ladies in the saloon (wanting to peek in the window because she never saw one before. An exciting story with twists and turns and outlaws seeking revenge. I am enjoying this series! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.

Shane and Angela have loved each other since childhood and they planned to marry. However, she had been spirited off the Boston and was not able to contact him. With time, she had become engaged to another man. She and her fiance had visited the western town where Shane lived, not knowing that he was there. This book opens after her fiance's death. Angela decides to go back to that town to see if she has a chance with Shane.

Shane is busy preparing for a town invasion by a very nasty group of outlaws. Their reunion does not go as Angela had hoped.

This is a sweet, clean romance mixed in with suspense.

This book can be read by young adults and older.

I really enjoyed this look at Splendor, MT again and the current romance that is taking place there. This is the story of Shane and Angela. As always there are updates about the couples that have been told about before in the other Redemption Mountain Historical Romance books.

Shane is a deputy that feel in love when he was young and wanted to marry the girl of his dreams but he was told by her father that Angela died. Later in Splendor he saw her again but couldn't believe it. Then he found out that she was marring someone else. Then Angela's fiancé is shot and dies leaving Angela free again. She goes back with her fiancé to return his body and Shane thinks that's the last he will see of her. But she comes back to Splendor.

Angela has only been in love once with Shane. After her fiancé dies she knows she has to go back to where Shane is and try to win him back. She doesn't know if he's dating someone else or if he is going to marry someone else she just has to find out.

As always these books are so well written and the story just grabs you and you can't wait to find out what happens next.
