Bend her like Beckham!

The heroine: Jacinta - She got pregnant by Rylee’s ex fiancé when he was cheating on Rylee. He was abusive and an all around bad guy. While pregnant she ran and tried to stay hidden from him and his wealthy family. During her time away, she married August who also left town because he didn’t think he deserved Rylee. However, when he returned to town for a funeral, he got back together with Rylee.
The Hero(es): Beckham Harley - Brother to Rylee and her twin sister Rhianna. Beckham took over running their father’s company years ago and has increased its worth ever since. Beckham lost the love of his life, Paige in the last book. He had been best friends with her since they were young. Paige was August’s half-sister. August is Rylee’s husband.
The Story: Jacinta has a young son and is working as a secretary to Beckham. He is a hard task master but soon realizes that Jacinta is good at her job and dedicated. Beckham is extremely attracted to Jacinta, and her to him but neither of them want to cross that line since he is her boss. Plus he is hard to work for and Jacinta is a great worker.
When Beckham and Jacinda have to go away together to a swanky resort for business, the book gets a bit steamy. Though I must say this book seemed a bit rushed to me and could have had a lot more detail. It is less than 200 pages, so I didn’t expect a deeply intricate storyline.
However, I thought there would be a bit more angst about Beckham’s love for Paige when he started to have feelings for Jacinta. He was definitely grieving before he got to know Jacinta, but he seemed to move on as soon as he got intimate with Jacinta. So I will give this one 4 stars instead of 5.

'MY CRUEL LOVER' Is the third book in T.L. Smith's 'Wicked poison' series. This is Beckham Harley & Jacinta Leigh's story. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'
Beckham was born into a world of luxury from the lifestyle to following into his fathers footsteps and taking over the business right beside his sister. In his early twenties he's a multi-millionaire and well on his way to becoming a billionaire.
After losing the love of his life, Paige he's not the man he used to be. Most weekends will see him drowning his sorrows trying to numb the pain. And because of this loss he doesn't allow too many close to him. He's a bit of a playboy, uses woman as he sees fit, he's a bit of a jerk towards them.
Jacinta has a young boy and has been working for them for a few months and has now been assigned to work under Beckham. He may have the looks of a movie star but he has a temper of a two year old, many can't work under Beckham, even though he fires her on her first day Jacinta is made of sterner stuff and is at her desk bright and early the next day.
These two are attracted to each other straight off the bat even though they try and fight it things take heat up on a business trip which is the starting point for these two.

Finding love

Enter Beckham. He isn’t the sweet little brother anymore. He’s partial owner and savvy mover and shaver in the family business whose holdings he has increased almost single-handedly exponentially. But it’s not all work, Beckham has evolved into the consummate playboy, an alpha jerk leaving broken hearts in his wake, even after his young heart was broken. Jacinta, whose sad back history is almost shamefully intertwined in the Beckham's family, now works as his personal assistant -- but she's no wallflower. She's the woman he didn't know he needed, so the story folds.
This is a light and easy story with a bit of drama that others may enjoy. For me, the plot line was a little too predictable and less engaging than the duet in this series, simultaneous a bit cringy given Jacinta's history. Hard to be persuaded to suspense disbelief on latter.
A once discarded Jacinta finds love; and a cynic, happiness. And the journey is paved with hotness. As usual this author delivers with excellent pace, intriguing characters, and beautiful steam. Try this story for yourself.

I was anticipating this story since the moment that i finished reading Rylee and August's duet.
The truth is that I guessed that Becham will end up with Jacinda, even though, honestly, I don't know if it was the right choice.
Jacinda wasn't a bad person but she had played a big role in Rylee's demise and into her relationship with August and even though, I wasn't her biggest fan, I can't really tell that she wasn't a good girl.
But here, we have a new chapter and we are leaving everything behind.
"The two of us? We are bound not to work. We are bound to explode."
Jacinda was a tortured woman and she hadn't the best luck on men.
The man that left her pregnant belonged to another woman and he turned out to be a very bad person. And her ex husband never forgot the love of his life and now, he is back with her.
At the moment, she is a single mother who is about to work for a man that even though he is drop dead gorgeous, he is so difficult to work with.
“I want to be someone’s first. I deserve to be someone’s first. I want someone to look at me and see only me. Not wish they were seeing the person they really want to be with. Be the touches they crave and wish were someone else’s.”

There was sparkle between them from the very first moment and it was inevitable to act upon it. But even though the bodies are craving each other, there are too many things that are standing between them...
Is there a hope for these two after all???

I liked Jacinda and Beckham very much.
Unfortunately, there will never top August and Rylee for me, but I can't deny that I enjoyed their story.
It was cruel, it was sexy, it was sweet... Too many condradictions in here...
I just wasn't feeling their connection in the beginning. It seemed just sex for me and nothing more, but as the story was progressing I could feel this connection sparkle!!!
"Feeling anything for Beckham is not something I ever wanted to do. It wasn't meant to happen. How did it even happen?"
This was a really good story and it can be read as a standalone, but I would propose to you to read before August and Rylee's story for two reasons.
First, you will understand better Beckham and Jacinda's backgrounds and what led them in here, and secondly, everybody needs to read August and Rylee's duet. It is a story that I will always hold close to my heart!!!
I just can't wait more of this author. I love her stories very much.

First time reading from this author is was a very great and nice pleasant surprise! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Didn’t say i love it very much but hopefully in the future it will get better 😂😂😂🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS POSSESSIVE but not much and protective and very much azzhol3 alpha male. He is so honest and very blunt in stupid way. Like sometimes he lets that stupidity get in the way too much and that actually made him seems more bad.
The hero lost the love of his life since very young and was very sad ever since. He mourn her by doing many stupid things and always runs away. Which is sucks because we can read that here in many most part of the book of how childish he is and how he still so very hurt by it. He even let that get in the way in the relationship with the heroine at first before they even be official. BUT I’M GLAD THAT WHEN THE HERO FINALLY MADE THE HEROINE OFFICIALLY HIS, HE REALLY FORGET ABOUT THE PAST AND ONLY EVER LOVED AND FOCUS TO THE HEROINE.
So it such a beautiful thing to read...

I love Beckham and was so excited for this story, he is still in mourning all these years later and doesn’t have time for love but slowly Jacinta crumbles down his resistance.
Now it took a while to like Jacinta but she really was what Beckham needed in a way.

5 sexy as sin stars!!
This is book two in the “Wicked Poison” series and can be read as a stand alone. But know this story does continue from the last.

This author kills me so many times. How many assholes can one girl love?!?! I wanted to hate Beckham though out this book with the way he acts but I just couldn’t. I mean going into this book I already had a major soft spot for him but damn!!
Jacinta is just the right mix of bad ass, independent, naughty and vulnerable. She is a kick ass mom and friend. I actually didn’t like her prior to this book and boy have things changed. I absolutely adore her. And Oliver of course.
These two together are explosive. Whether they are fighting, friends or lovers. I am down with this couple for sure. I, also, very much love their support system. The characters in this book are perfect.
What I love about this book and most other books by the author is they are all, usually, easy reads. I sit down and next thing you know they are finished. But what happens doesn’t feel like that. I don’t feel ripped off or that I missed everything. I didn’t need to know what color shirt he was wearing or if there was ice in his cup. The author makes the words flow effortlessly and you are just there for pure enjoyment. No need to follow clues or go back and read. You just enjoy the ride.

I enjoyed Beckham but I had hoped we'd get to witness him come to terms with losing Paige, along with forming a relationship with Glenn. I just wanted a little more from him since he had been holding that pain for so long and let it weigh him down. That said I enjoy these characters and this world the author created with fantastic couples and their journeys to finding love.

My Cruel Lover is part of the Wicked Poison Series and is the story of Beckham, Rylee's brother who is the main character of the two previous books. If you read My Wicked Heart and My Beautiful Poison you will remember that Beckham was a sweet and protective boy with his sisters, especially with Rylee until a fateful event occurs that changes him completely. Now he lives with the constant memory of that person and vowed not to fall in love again. He is currently a grumpy and bitter man. He takes over the family business and he's good at it. He is completely focused on it and the only one who can get a smile out of him is his little niece Winter. Until Jacinta appears, his new secretary and a woman who is related to his sister and her husband (I will not say in what aspect to avoid spoilers). She takes him out of his comfort zone, provokes conflicting emotions, and is determined to keep her away from him. She is a single mother and her only concern is her young son Oliver. Jacinta is hard-working, patient, and inevitably drawn to Beckham. They both do their best to ignore magnetism, but one trip changes everything. However, the memory of Paige, the hierarchy in the workplace, the bad love experiences of Jacinta and little Oliver represent the points against they can be together. Beckham shields himself with cruel, hurtful and even immature attitudes towards Jacinta who does not allow those attitudes to hurt her, although deep down they have an impact on her feelings. Although their affair happens very quickly, the development of the relationship and the emergence of feelings occur gradually. Beckham and Jacinta are a beautiful couple and I really enjoyed their story. Totally recommended.

My Cruel Lover is Beckham Harley’s book. He is all grow up now and after the events from the past, Beckham has turned cold where his heart is concerned. Rich and powerful can only satisfy you for so long. When his new assistant Jacinta Leigh tests more than his nerves, can Beckham finally put things in the past and start to heal? Beckham is Rylee’s little brother from the first two in this series. I recommended reading the first two to get the whole story as there will be spoilers otherwise. You are going to love Beckham in this enemies to lovers, office romance. My heart hurts for what he had to deal with when he was younger. I’m glad we got his story and we also see everyone else back too. Told in dual POV

This is book three of this series and it is just as amazing as the first two books! I couldn’t put it down once I started it. I was so ready to see where TL Smith took Beckham and Jacinta after all the heartbreak both of them had been through. Beckham acted like a grade A douche lord at times, which made me want to slap him around a little, although that did change as the book progressed and he wasn’t as bad as he was in the beginning. Jacinta is one tough chick to live through everything she has and still be strong. This book has drama, it has steam, a bit of angst, and is just an excellent read. I’d definitely recommend it!

OMG I loved Beckham and Jacinta’s story so much! I knew Beckham was going to be a jerk of epic proportions after loosing his first love in such a tragic way and poor Jacinta I think was perfect for him! Jacinta came with her own baggage as well but they made it work . The chemistry between these two was sizzling! This story was a well written story about two broken souls healing each other and learning to confront their demons from the past . I loved watching these two heal and grow together this was a amazing emotional sexy steamy office romance that I couldn’t get enough of! Loved it !

Loved this one too, what's not to love though! An ar%&hole boss ✔ his capable & attractive assistant ✔ a fabulous storyline ✔ Beckham & Jacinta's story was a great one, it was good to get to know more about Jacinta who we met first in previous books in this series. It took a good woman to break down the barriers Beckham had built up around him. A fabulously emotional read, I can't recommend this series highly enough.

Anger, pain, frustration and nightmares have plaqued Beckham since that fateful night. Jacinta only wants to do her job and not have to deal with her jerk of a boss. Can these two get along long enough to work together? TL has been my favorite author since I stumbled upon her books years ago. Never looked back once.

Beckham is the perfect alpha who you want to hate but end up swooning for. Jacinta is his new assistant how has a troubled past. THis is a fast paced book which pulled me in and full of all the passion once they break through to each other . I loved the writing style and even more so the appearance of other characters from the prior books.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "MY CRUEL LOVER" OMG!!!! WOW!!!! This story had so many feels heartache, loss, intrigue, a little suspense, angst, hot steamy scenes, surprises, twist that made for one interesting captivating read so addicting from first page.
Jacinta Leigh got pregnant by Anderson at the time he was also involved with Rylee Harley he was abusive ended up hurting & almost killing her he went to prison.
Jacinta moved away originally to keep Anderson's family who had money try to take Oliver away she married August to change her name he was in love with Rylee seems her & Jacinta had same men they were involved with at one time.
Jacinta & Rylee became friends when she moved back August is with Rylee now she also works with Rylee at her company & has a circle of friends now she never had before.
Jacinta was put in a position as an assistant to work with Beckham Harley he was rude, obnoxious, yelled alot as her boss she told him if didn't stop treating her like sh*t she'd quit but he needed her she wax good at her job & helped him land a big account he'd been trying to get.
Beckham lost the love of his life 6yrs ago he was a different man then he drowns his sorrows must weekend's to dull the pain takes woman whenever he needs, he uses them, is disrespectful to them, thinking their only with him for one thing his money.

My heart has been broken, torn to shreds. I'm used to the game of pain. Basically, I'm acquainted with it. Some would say I've become immune. That is....until him. He's cruel, hard and everything I should stay away from. For one he is my boss. Second, well, I can't stay away. But in this game of life, maybe pain is my love. Or maybe I'm not seeing things clearly. Because every time his hands touch me, it's anything but cruel.
This is the third book in the Wicked Poison Series but you can read all these books as standalones. But you will want to go back and read them once you have devoured My Cruel Lover. I know that I read it in one sitting and I loved every single second of it. This is I guess you would call it a office romance and we have the boss or CEO Beckham Harley. He is cruel to everyone he meets and just uses women as he sees fit. He lost the one woman he was meant to love when she died and he is not suppose to be able to love anyone else or so he has told himself and the man has to drink himself to death to sleep and not think about her. Then you have his new assistant Jacinta Leigh (yes I had to google it and listen to a youtube video of how to say her name so if you can't figure it out just google it.) She is really great friends with his sister and is a single mom and trying her best to keep her son away from his father since he is a psycho for sure. On the first day she starts as his assistant he fires her right off the back but she doesn't go anywhere and it just makes her want to do her job that much better. These two have a really back and forth relationship but man does she give it as good as she gets right back at Beckham. I really liked his as we got to know him through this book. He and Jacinta are really perfect for each other in so many ways but can they get their happily ever after? You have to read to find out. I believe most of us can say we have experienced that cruelty of some sort before. Some can say they have maybe experienced that situation where their family, boss, neighbor or the hot guy they met that dropped his guard and showed that cruel side. But this story presents us with someone that surpasses the expected. My Cruel Lover may be the title but what we really find out is something we probably already knew.
Beckham is that alpha male that can make women drop panties quickly...if he wants. But the other side of him, that side that is not on the chase, is the part most dodge. “That attitude” is not for the weak of heart or mind or spine! Yes Beckham is known for being difficult to work for. But what many don’t know is the pain he hides and harbors. And that pain has definitely contributed to his current actions. Sometimes the heart is the last to heal.
Jacinta seems to be a vision straight from a magazine. Beautiful is an understatement, yet she does not seem to realize it. Of course to make matters worse, some of her prior decisions have not been the best. You might even think she was vengeful. But in actuality she has become a very strong woman with power and strengths she does not know she possesses. Visions into her future are clear and her mission in life is well defined. If she could only kick that one nagging passion that parks in the room next door.

T.L. Smith writes a hot, steamy, heartbreaking, lustful and addictive enemies to lovers story. This book had you hooked from the beginning with the heartbreak but then keeps you with all the twists that are throughout the book.
Jacinta has had a hard life from the man who got her pregnant, by someone’s ex-fiance and not wanting her or the baby, to marrying a guy that was basically there to help her and didn’t love her. Both men were/are involved with Rylee, her employer. She is living with her son, Oliver ad he is the world to her. She had no family turn to for help. She is now the assistant to Beckman, the part-owner of his family’s company with Rylee.
Beckman has lost the love of his life six years ago and still deals with it by going through women and drinking his pain away. He treats his employees like crap but pays them well. Well, this is not different for his assistant, Jacinta. She wants to quit or transferred within the company but he requests her to stay. He has said he will never fall in love again but then Jacinta shows up and maybe his thinking will change.
They are going away for a business trip to meet with new clients, what could possibly go wrong? Will they both give in to their feeling towards each other or keep it professional? This is where the lines get blurred and lust gives away to the boss/employee professionalism. Will Jacinta be able to live with herself after the trip? Will Beckman still the arrogant ass that people know him for?

5 Cruel Stars! TL Smith blows me away every time... and this book is no different!
Beckham has had a dark past after losing someone super important to him and since that it's shaped him into the dark and cruel businessman he is today. He refuses to let anyone close to him or anywhere near his heart. That includes his new assistant. Jacinta is the new assistant and good friend of his sister. On her first day on the job, he fires her, but her sassy attitude refuses to quit and walk away. Their relationship is a cruel back and forth game, but with tons of heat... hold on to your seats!
TL Smith always writes a book that sucks me in from the first page and this book was no different. I've been hooked on this series since book one and each book just gets better and better. And as much as you want to hate Beckham, your heart just can't help but fall for him! And Jacinta is a woman most girls strive to be and I just love her! This book packs a powerful punch and I loved every single second of it!

My Cruel Lover is the third book in The Wicked Poison series by T.L Smith and is a brilliant enemies to lovers, office romance that I absolutely loved!
I was reeled in and hooked from the start. I loved Beckham and Jacinta's emotional, heart breaking and journey to find happiness.
Beckham's world was ripped apart 6 years ago when the love of his life was killed. He now drowns himself in alcohol and women to take away the pain. Never opening up his heart to anyone but his family, until his new assistant grabs his attention.
Jacinta has had her share of heartbreak and hurt. She has lost her parents, the man who she thought loved her, her husband. She still has her son, the only boy who has a piece of her heart. Her new boss may just be able to steal some if she lets him in.
I really loved this story. While it's different from the previous two books in this series, it's a really good different. I loved that the characters from the previous books were present. I loved how Jacinta didn't let Beckham walk over her, she is a strong single mother and it shows. Also that Beckham finally learns that he can love again. Their chemistry is hot and their connection is instant, even if they try to dent it.
