If you enjoy age gap romance, this is for you. Each title in the Homemade Heat series is a short story/short novella! Here is the reading MeCake WalkHand TossedChef's KissBite Me
Sweet young heroine falls for the hero, who is British celebrity judge. She enters his show, loads of comedy of error ensues, they engage in some daddy talk and paddling, a big proposal and a HEA.
Hilarious and sexy! I was laughing the entire time while reading Judge Me by Abby Knox. There were just lots of funny moments here. At the same time, I was wondering if the author took inspiration from the celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay when she created the MMC here. Lol.
It's all about 48-year-old celebrity chef Phillip Wildwood and 23 year-old American stand-up comedian Chloe Williams. These two met in the UK when Chloe decided to become part of Phillip's reality baking show. Her sole purpose was to get closer to him and make him fall for her, and not to compete as a baker-- because she definitely sucks in the kitchen. Lol.
Aside from the hilarious scenes, there are definitely lots of sexy times here too. In the end, it turned out to be a sweet, quick love story that I thought the characters deserved. Of course, their story was hard to believe in lots of aspects, but hey. Even so, the fun this book had to offer was enough to make it worth a read.
This one was just a bit too OTT and dramatic for me- with the 'quirky' and unique heroine- and please, I'm choosing to forget about the British accents and slang within the book 😶-
She is a "cheery little American tart"....a Pop Tart
Judge Me is the first book in the Homemade Heat series. It is a way, way, way OTT insta-love (both falling when they see each other on video). But it is a quick, funny, and smexy little story. It is about Chloe Williams, a twenty-three year old woman who at the age of seventeen fell in love with Phillip Wildwood when she saw him for the first time. It was when she and her mother were trying out a new cooking show, Britain's Best Baker. One look at the screen and Chloe was already hooked, to the "stone-cold Daddy on the screen". She knew she needed to meet him and that she was going to marry him. Now she learns that the show is looking for American contestants so she is determined this is her way to the man she has saved all her firsts for. The only thing is that Chloe is a disaster in the kitchen and can barely make a Pop Tart. Even with her family not believing she can do it somehow she becomes a contestant. Phillip is forty-eight years old, a famous baker and is one of the judges on his show Britain's Best Baker. He "has two settings: hungry and horny", both make him a charming bloke with grouchy being his brand. The producer decides that they need to try something different on the show to get the ratings up and having an American show, where all the contestants are American, is just the thing. Phillip watches all of the audition tapes and when he sees a petite young woman who "wore a frilly apron, joking and babbling her way through a disastrous cooking demonstration". The thing was that as she set a saute pan on first by accident she also set Phillip on fire. So it seems Chloe is off to a castle in Warwickshire, England to be a contestant on the show. I wonder what she will win, as we know it will not be the contest.
This story is way OTT and outlandish...and if you take it that way it can be very funny (LOL) and cute. There is a little bit of "Daddy" but it is very brief. It was an entertaining read.
I've been obsessed with the famous baker since I was far too young to fall in love with a man so much older. My family thinks it's an innocent celebrity crush, but what they don't know is I've been saving myself for this stone cold silver fox. And now, to everyone's disbelief, I've got my chance. There's only one problem that I hope he doesn't notice: I'm a terror in the kitchen.

Quotes
I don’t know the first thing about baking, except as a spectator sport. But I do know one thing. One day I’m going to marry that man.
Unfortunately, I can’t spank an American on worldwide television, but I take solace in the prospect of figuratively paddling a cocky colonist into submission.
It beats for no one and nothing until you showed up in my garden last night.

So funny. and so cute. young woman sees famous grumpy chef on cooking tv show and she falls in love at first sight. she vows to get on his tv show to meet and claim him as hers. little does she know he sees her audition video and falls in love with her too, at first sight. she is hysterical and he is grumpy. but they are perfect together even though there is an age gap. there is some spanking, age gap and some daddy kink.
I want more! and I just thought the cover was so pretty.
Plot: Chloe has had a crush on famous chef Phillip forever. She finds out that he is hosting a competition with an American contestant panel and she applies. She's accepted into the competition, but the problem is that she can't bake - at all. But just like Chloe didn't apply because she wants to be a chef, maybe Phillip didn't choose her because he thinks she's a good cook.
Commentary: Chloe is so funny during her actual competition - she was pretty brazen, and the other people's reactions were hilarious. Even better was that she thought she was doing all the seducing, when actually Phillip brought her there in much the same circumstances as she applied, that is, having fallen in love with a picture/video, they each made their way to the other.
I loved everything about this book. Chloe aka little tart sees Phillip on his baking show and knew he would be hers one day, and yes those were her words, love her confidence. She is so funny, and so extra, probably one of my favorite female characters ever. I also loved that she saved herself for him because she was that confident he would be hers. If we could all have that kind of confidence and determination. Liked that while her mom was not embracing the age difference, her dad was totally indifferent. And to top it off, she’s on his baking show, when she couldn’t bake if her life depended on it, hilarious, and yes she’s well aware that she can’t bake. The baguette scene, I about lost it, funny af. She is about as subtle as a Mack truck, she’s there for one thing, and it’s not to bake.
Safe read. When these two meet, it’s like they’ve always been together. They are so funny together. This book was so hilarious, Chloe is just so extra, and Phillip is the calm to her storm. An epilogue and a hea.
Judge Me by Abby Knox was cuteness overload in the best possible way! From the blurb I knew I was going to fall head over heels in love with Chloe and Phillip and this book ABSOLUTELY delivered!
Chloe is endearing in her instantaneous smitten behavior! She's sweet, innocent, and immediately drawn to, attracted to, and captivated by the growly man she's only ever seen and heard on screen.
Phillip is grouchy, a bit of a curmudgeon, and I LOVED him for it! His inner monologue has me chuckling, and his staid yet fierce outlook on what he wants, when he sees it, and how far he'll take things to make them happen, and have everything go his way was a sheer and utter delight to read!
And all the food metaphors and allusions? Just get ready to grin like a loon and simultaneously get hungry!
This story is a quick and fast paced read, deliciously filthy, SHMEKSHAY, and full of all of the HEA FEELS!
Chloe had seen Phillip on his baking show and announced that he would be hers one day. She has no cooking talent whatsoever, but she learned just enough to make her audition tape so she could be on his show. She was so convinced that he was the one she would marry that she saved herself for him.
Surprisingly, when Phillip saw her baking attempt video, he knew immediately that she was the one he was looking for in his life. Certainly not for her cooking talent, but he had that part covered. The two of them are hilarious together. Will he convince her he wants her as his forever? Can he get a signed statement that he will do all the cooking in their home?
I giggled my way through Judge Me, so flipping cute I tell you! I binged watched a celebrity chef's kitchen makeover show a few months back and he was who I pictured Phillip as. I couldn't help it and that just made it even more adorable. Chloe has had a thing, a huge thing and definitely bigger than a crush for Phillip from the moment she saw him. She is determined to meet him and marry him someday. Phillip is lonely, success makes for a very empty home. When he sees Chloe, suddenly he is anything but lonely or bored for that matter. I don't want to say too much, it was just too delightful! 5 stars!
Oh my! This was hilarious! Made me laugh out loud! And it was so hot! Chloe was a riot! She was funny as hell and bat shit crazy and I loved her. Phillip was grouchy as hell but kinda sweet with Chloe.. And sexy!
The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! By the time you’ve figured out who is who and how deep hate can run, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! Can’t say I didn’t warn you. Chloe has been crushing on a famous baker ever since she can remember when she was little while watching a show with her mom, she declared she would marry Phillip the famous baker one day…. A little girl dream or so her mom thought. Phillip has everything any man could want but the one thing or person who makes his heartbeat faster with just one look changing his world. All that changes when the producers decide to an American version of his show and he agrees if he picks the participants. Watching that show with her mother inspired her to become a baker but not well enough to win a spot on the show that is until Phillip sees the video and let’s say changes a few things ensuring she get picked for his show just watching her he knew she was it for him and he was going to do what it took to have her (even if that means a little cheating). Chloe stance is she submitted the video in hopes of being picked just to see or be around Phillip because the girl can’t back to save her life well not to be on any type of show. These two seem to know they want each other and will do what it takes to have each other, manipulating a video and coming on a show that requires baking you get Phillip and Chloe also, some extremely funny parts and amazing characters but will it lead two lonely people to each and happiness?
I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Everyone had thought her celebrity crush would vanish over time but if anything she had become more obsessed with the grouchy English celebrity chef Phillip Wildwood since she sat watching a cooking show with her mum, she knew from that moment on that he was the man she was destined to marry. So when the opportunity arose and she could apply to be in his new show she grabbed in with both hands, even though she is an awful Baker she knows now is the time for her to show Phillip who he belongs to. Is it possible that they could be together or is all this just a dream?
Phillip Wildwood has had the career that many only dream of but there is something missing, something he finds watching the audition tapes and he will do all that it take to get her in to his orbit. Is he wrong to think that they have a future together. One thing he knows is after this show he’s keeping Chloe out of his kitchen.
This was a sweet age gap story and I just loved how Chloe knew what she wanted and was going to do whatever she had to, to get it. Loved this and looking forward to more on this series. 4.5* read.
This is the first book in the series. They can be all read in as standalones but they have interconnected characters (sisters).
This is an age gap romance with a sassy and confident Chloe who wants and is attracted to the famous baker Philip. She enters a baking competition just to meet him with no apparent baking skills but her end goal is to marry him. Philip falls for her the moment he sees her audition knowing she has no skill but wants and craves her.
The instant they see each other the attraction is there and so strong and you feel it. It’s a quick, swooney, funny read and the more I read the more I wanted. I read it in one go and was left with a smile on my face. What a great wait to start the series and I look forward to reading the other sisters books.
I laughed quiet a bit and loved how Chloe showed how attractive she was to Philip through cake. That moment she made a specific body parts shape bread, perfection. One of my favourite laughing moments in the book.
Do you like to cook? How about making plans to visit your favorite crush who is a celebrity chef who is smart, intelligent and grumpy? Well that describes Chloe who is a participate on a cooking show to get closer to her future husband Phillip. She makes plans to make this older gentleman hers in every way. Chloe is cute and a horrible cook in the kitchen which is how she gets her man at the end. Phillip did not stand a chance! After all, everything Chloe does has praises coming from Phillip lips who was one of the judges on his cooking show. It was so much fun to read about Chloe shenanigans.
Phillip is one of the judges on his cooking show. Phillip is smitten with Chloe and goes out of his way to make his presence known. He wants Chloe to replace his loneliness and hold his heart. He is obsessed with Chloe and makes Chloe his queen. I loved Chloe and Phillip together. This was a short novella that will keep a smile on your face. ***5 stars ***
Now I love a certain British baking show so this story is right up my alley. Phillip is a judge on a famous British baking show, he loves bread, has silver hair and steely blue eyes. Chloe fell in love with him through that show and made it her mission to meet him and make him fall in love with her, regardless of the age gap between them and the fact that she can't bake for her life. Phillip doesn't care, he just wants her, needs her with an intensity that makes him put her on the show despite her failures. This story was by turns sweet, sexy and saucy. Chloe is a firecracker and Phillip needs her in his life.

When Chloe sees celebrity chef Phillip for the first time on TV, she knows he is the man for her. There are a few obstacles in her way - she's a teenager in America, he's a much older man who lives in Britain and she's a horrible cook. However, years later their paths cross and it's his doing as much as hers. Will they both get what they want? I like this story! Phillip is stern, lonely and wants a family. Chloe is a headstrong, aspiring comedian who makes her dreams come true. This short insta-love romance is told in dual POV, has good world-building details, is descriptive in emotions, has humor & passion and cooking mishaps! What an entertaining romantic comedy!

First things first; I love the cover of this book! This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Chloe has had a crush on a baking judge since he appeared on her TV. Determined to get her man, she signs up for his British baking show. Phillip has wanted Chloe since he saw her disastrous video application for his show. Will Chloe get her man? The chemistry between Chloe and Phillip is clear to see and I liked them together. I was amused at how determined Chloe was in getting her man. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
Oh, this story is just great. It reminds me of Jason Mamoma when he said when he was little that he would marry his now-wife. And this is what she said in this book that this chef would be her husband one day. She is not a cook, but a natural disaster in the kitchen. He is older, but she does not care. Her family thinks she just has a crush and it's nothing more. That is, until he sees her video and that's when he decides she will be his. Does he have what it takes to find her and get her for him and keep her out of the kitchen?

Strong start! I was barely eight pages in and I’d already highlighted at least four bits that I found funny.
It was highly relatable. A lot of us know that feeling of seeing the celebrity on the screen and thinking, “I’m gonna marry that person someday.“
Though, few of us go after our dreams with as much gusto as Chloe. 😳
It was all going so well… Then she called him daddy.
Not my kink, yo.
Barring the “daddy“ thing, I think this could’ve been a lot more fun if it was a little longer. The speed at which of the two main characters meet, fool around, fall in love, and become engaged is just head spinningly fast.
Hilarious, pure fun. Chloe was so funny, I can't tell you how many times I snort laughed at her. Phillip certainly cracked me up as well but in a different way. I loved everything about this story, from Chloe doing everything to get herself in front of Phillip to him playing favorites to get her in front of him. There was some spanking and daddy kink but even if that is not your thing this book is worth the read. Loved it!

Ok Judge Me by Abby Knox is now in my top 5 reads of 2021. I loved Chloe and her celebrity crush, Chef Phillip Wildwood. After seeing him on tv, Chloe becomes obsessed and she knows without a doubt she is going to marry him. Now a few years later she has gotten a spot on his baking show. What Chloe doesn't know is that she is not the only one obsessed because Phillip sees her audition tape and he falls hard and fast. Even if the only thing she can't ruin in the kitchen is a pop tart! If you enjoy age/gap romance you will love their story!
One of the funniest story I’ve read. I love Chloe’s attitude and getting what she wanted. Falling for the older English baker, Philip, she saw on TV when she was seventeen and finding a way to meet him at 23 showed how much she’s in love. Philip on the other hand picked her for his baking competition show even though he can see that she can’t bake at all. You can’t fight fate. What Chloe baked during the competition was hilarious 🤣. I highly recommend this very refreshing story.
Chloe has been in love with Phillip since she was seventeen, now years later she finally has her chance. He breaks all the rules just to get to meet her, he’s fallen for his contestant. This is an OTT pull out all the stops to let her man she will do anything to have him. A lol display of campy actions to reel in her man and marry him.

I loved this, the way Chloe saved all her firsts for Phillip, and the way she thinks, esp on breadmaking day. I could not stop laughing. I think my fave sentence in the whole story must be "Virgin Mary on toast" lol. The only drawback is I laughed so much the steamy/erotic aspect was kinda lost.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Phillip is a famous baker and the man that Chloe has loved from afar for years. Fate had a plan when she gets the chance to audition for a show he is doing. One viewing of her on tape and he knows that he needs her in his life. Their love story is full of humor, differences that fit well together, lust and love.
