Although I feel that ending this series at volume 4 is quite sad because of my resentment toward volumes 2 and 3, this fourth volume truly provided me with a satisfying conclusion. It carries a hint of sadness, but from the mysteries to the way they were resolved, even though I had predicted some of the secrets, it remained fascinating because the ensuing consequences were narrated with intense emotion by the author. This is a story where I could see and feel every single moment as if I were standing right beside the main characters, a story that thoroughly deserves a perfect ten out of ten.
At this point, I will also share a brief evaluation of the entire series. As I mentioned in my review of volume 1, I originally came for VOFAN, and I stayed because of the title of the story. Of course, the author integrating playful banter with petite girls and somewhat suggestive jokes was an enjoyable plus for me since I am a die hard fan of the Monogatari series. Not only that, but the perspectives of the main characters were thoroughly explored, maintaining distinct personalities without blurring together. As for the biggest advantage, I believe it stems from the geographical setting and the narrative background, which present a sense of familiarity yet feel completely unique, while simultaneously being resolved through a rare perspective that could only exist within the context of Taiwan.
Regarding the disadvantages, as I noted in my reviews for volume 1 and volume 3, the story is somewhat verbose. This is evident in volume 1 with viewpoints centered around Confucianism or similar topics, and volumes 2 and 3 with perspectives heavily focused on the past while sidelining the main cast. Naturally, because volume 4 completely lacks these drawbacks, that is precisely the reason why I feel the story achieved such a magnificent conclusion with this final volume.
However, the afterword is a bit strange haha.
