THEIR YULETIDE HEALING is the last book in the Bliss Texas series and I loved every minute of it. The story takes place in Bliss, Texas and Mindy Obenhaus describes it so beautifully that I am ready to pack my bags and go see it for myself. What more could you ask for right? THEIR YULETIDE HEALING deals with so many different emotions that one minute I was giggling and the next tearing up. I love when an author can do that to their readers! Don’t you just love small town romance stories? Rae and Cole are the last two people looking for any kind of romance, but they can’t seem to ignore the chemistry they are feeling. To say both are fighting it ever day is a huge understatement! They both have pasts that keep them from getting involved, or so they think.
THEIR YULETIDE HEALING will surely pull at your heart strings and make it very hard for you to put down. Many times while reading, I just wanted to give everyone a huge hug. If you are like me, you won’t be able to stop until you know what happens to all of these beautiful people in Bliss. Reading how Cole and Rae responded to each other is very funny since both are so stubborn. Is it possible for them to get a chance at love if they would just stop and listen to the other? I’m not going to tell you, but I will say that you really should read THEIR YULETIDE HEALING and get to know this lovable small town. Also, a big secret is revealed that shocks both Rae and Cole to their cores. That’s all I can say! The connection that Cole makes with Max is wonderful! I was praying the whole time reading that Cole would get Max to trust him.
Rae is willing to do just about anything to give her kids a perfect Christmas. They have been through so much. Cole wants to help Rae because the kids have wormed their way into his heart before he even realized it! THEIR YULETIDE HEALING is an awesome way to spend the afternoon or evening. I’m going to miss my Bliss, Texas friends. Once you start THEIR YULETIDE HEALING you won’t be able to put it down and will find yourself cheering for Cole and Rae as they try to navigate their way through a very different and unique situation. Be prepared to have the kids steal your heart! Mindy Obenhaus will pull you in from the very first page and never let you go! I’m so sad that this series is over, but I can’t wait to read what Mindy writes next. I truly enjoyed each and every story in this series and every one of these , won my heart.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author through JustRead Publicity Tours. All opinions are my own.
I do love a good Scroogish story and this one if fabulous, though Cole isn't as bah humbug as the original curmudgeon. He just keeps his heart well armoured...until Rae's foster kids get a hold of it. :-)
Max and Maggie brought so much emotion to this story. And Cole is surprisingly sensitive to their needs. He makes a special connection with little Max in particular which just melted my heart. Rae's too. But this lawyer is definitely a bit of a Scrooge when it comes to Christmas...and happily ever afters, even though Rae and her kids are so easy to love. Sigh, I do so love a conflicted hero. Watching Cole finally work past his demons made for a thrilling read.
Rae is pretty conflicted too what with running her coffee shop, mothering her emotionally needy children and...orgainzing the Mistletoe Ball! How'd that happen? Cole's Aunt Tllly, that's how. Who also conveniently provides her reluctant nephew as co-organizer. Nothing like a little bit of Christmas matchmaking in a small Texan town like Bliss!
Their Yuletide Healing has all the ingredients that make up my favourite holiday read -- romance (of course!), cute kids and plenty of festive vibes all tied up in a happily-ever-after!
Thank you in advance to the author, Mindy Obenhaus, for providing a complimentary review copy through JustRead Publicity Tours. A positive review was not required nor requested, and all words are my own.
I cannot believe it is time to say goodbye to everyone in Bliss – Wes, Laurel, Mick, Christa, Paisley, Crockett, Rae, and Cole? I barely got to know the kids and I JUST met Cole!
Confession: One of my favorite TV characters? His name is Cole. That character was originally an attorney too.
Here we are at the end of the road in Bliss, Texas. I can’t believe this started back in June 2020 when we met Wes and Laurel with sweet little Sarah-Jane.
Speaking of …
All of the characters make an appearance in this book: Wes and Laurel (A Father’s Promise), Mick and Christa (A Brother’s Promise), Paisley, and Crockett. It is in this book that Paisley and Crockett (A Future to Fight For) will get married at the castle. The castle is also going to be the setting for The Mistletoe Ball that Rae and Cole get roped into organizing. The original organizer, Tilly, happens to be Cole’s aunt.
Rae is in her 40’s and has always wanted to be a mother. She becomes foster mom to Max and Maggie. I had to laugh about her comment about being 44 and aches and pains after an event.
As of note, Max and Maggie came from an abusive home. This resulted in the murder of their mother from domestic violence, and the subject might be disturbing to some readers though it is mentioned only once, and definitely not in graphic detail. However, little Maggie has a heart-breaking question for Rae about her father making her other mama go away. Grab the tissues for this one.
Cole himself also comes from an abusive home, namely his father, while not physical – it is bad enough to scare him off away from relationships. But, it helps him connect with Max who at first is not too comfortable with him, even refusing to eat if Cole is there. Yet, watching Max grow attached to Cole is endearing. Cole’s empathy for the boy is just as endearing. Cole’s father suffers from dementia which is unsettling to him given how his father was. This is something a lot of caregivers and family members go through.
How could I, even knowing the background, not want to read this book? The cover is adorable and heart-warming. After all, it has to have a happy ending, right? It is a romance and is a Christmas book. And, my favorite setting – small Texas town.
As of note, I definitely identify closer with Rae when it comes to the Christmas season. I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! While this year is different due to obligations, normally my tree is up (assembled, lit, decorated) by no later than December 5th.
I also LOVE Rae’s taste in Christmas music: Bing Crosby (no one croons “White Christmas” better), Andy Williams, even Amy Grant (I still remember her 1992 “Target” song – “Let the Season Take Wing”).
I definitely LOVED how the author included Johnny Mathis as well. So, this book was VERY personal to me given all the sweetness in it.
Another note about the “disaster” – slight spoiler – it is a fire, and I mention this only because there was a fire around where I live just before Christmas. It was very tragic and I want readers to be prepared given the topic. Like the abuse subject, Obenhaus treads it lightly and quickly without dwelling or miring in it.
Because of Max and Maggie’s situation, Rae wants to give them the best Christmas ever – just in case she isn’t able to adopt them. But, that interferes with the planning of the ball that supports children like Max and Maggie.
While it seems like Cole is the town Scrooge – he isn’t like the Scrooge of the Dickens’ novel. He just doesn’t do the holiday – until he meets Max and Maggie. As much as he doesn’t do kids either – he is determined to make their Christmas special and to be a good influence on them. Developing a crush on Rae isn’t helping matters either. But, neither one of them is looking for romance for different reasons. Rae notices a “sad air” about Cole.
But, as we all know … that won’t last long (even if it takes until the end of a book).
As soon as Cole helps Max and Maggie with their fears, they can’t wait to see him. Though Rae enjoys Cole’s commitment to the kids, she is left wondering why. This is even more so when Cole does something special for the kids after an incident at the park. When Rae learns Cole’s motives, she then decides to help him see the magic in Christmas.
It isn’t long until Maggie starts pushing Rae towards Cole even suggesting they get married. At one point, Maggie even tells Santa she wants them together. Ironically, it is Cole in the Santa suit.
Rae is also reflecting on how huge their families have grown – husbands, kids. Their Yuletide Healing definitely ends the series in a beautiful way that doesn’t leave the reader wondering “what happened”. The book also wraps up its own storyline as well.
The disaster is probably the worst part of the story, but it is balanced out, if not eclipsed by the entire town of Bliss “showing up” for Rae and the kids.
Obenhaus has a wonderful gift in telling a beautiful story that has elements of realism. You can go from laughing to crying and back. It is equally emotional and entertaining.
This is the fifth book I’ve read by the author and haven’t been disappointed. I do have the first four books in her ROCKY MOUNTAIN HEROES I still need to read.
This seemingly has shorter chapters than most books in the Love Inspired line, so that was probably the reason I read half of the book in about two (2) hours. I honestly couldn’t stop turning the pages. That isn’t too unusual. Back between 2000-2002 I would be able to read a Harlequin Intrigue (about the same size as the LI and LIS books) in a day.
While this was fast-paced, Obenhaus didn’t skimp on details or rush through the story. Sometimes the last book shows there is a rush to end it. Not just the book, but the entire series. I’ve read two “enders” (this one and Her Rocky Mountain Hope) and have not been disappointed or felt like it was a “rush” job. I didn’t read book #1 of the ROCKY MOUNTAIN HEROES series (Their Ranch Reunion) so I can’t compare the first and last books. I did read the first one in this series (A Father’s Promise) and there was NO difference in the care and attention from book #1 to book #4.
This will have a bit more Christian and faith themed references in it than most Love Inspired. But, give the theme of the story, this is definitely to be expected. However, I truly enjoyed this and CANNNOT wait for the next series from the author.
Her fans, those who enjoy the Love Inspired line, as well as those who read the first three books won’t want to miss this one.
I Just loved this story! There was something just so right about it. Maybe because of the season of giving we are in or because I just love stories that warm your heart and mind. Mindy Obenhaus was able to do just that. Give me a story that warmed my heart and gave me something to think about. I enjoyed how Mindy Obenhaus does not shy away from having her characters deal with tougher subjects and learning from their mistakes. I loved the foster care aspect of the story and that secret… Wow. What a good hook! Loved this visit back to Bliss, Tx and hope we get to visit again soon. 4 stars. *I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.
A fabulous finale to an enjoyable, heartwarming series . . .
I enjoyed the previous three installments of this 'Bliss, Texas' series by the gifted author, Mindy Obenhaus. This final story in the series involving the lives of four women who live in this small Texas town was a fabulous finale to an enjoyable, heartwarming series.
'Their Yuletide Healing' features the hardworking owner of the local café, Rae Girard. She has had a lifelong dream of being a mother; but as sometimes happens in life, things didn't go the way she planned. In spite of her many friends and her vibrant business, Rae's childless, broken first marriage left her alone and lonely. Now in her forties, she is getting the opportunity to be a foster mother to two young siblings, Max and Maggie. She wants to do everything in her power to make this Christmas extraordinary for her two children. I admired Rae's determination and sincere desire to make things right for these children entrusted to her care.
The town's attorney, Cole Heinsohn, is successful, respected, and well-liked. However, he has a lot of baggage of his own that he has kept hidden inside for decades. He is grappling with his own personal challenges and stress during the story. It was exciting to see his personal and spiritual growth as the story progressed.
When Cole gets together with Rae, Maggie, and Max to work on the town's fundraiser, 'The Mistletoe Ball,' wonderful things begin to happen. Barriers are torn down, hearts are opened, and the Christmas spirit begins to permeate into places it has never reached before.
I congratulate the author on her fine portrayal of people in need of some emotional support and how this community once again comes together to enrich the lives of its residents. Faith is an essential thread that is deftly woven throughout the book.
Highly-recommended to fans of Christian/clean romance, Christian/clean Western romance, and Christian/clean holiday stories. This book is completely clean in language and content.
I received a paperback copy of this book from the author through JustRead Publicity Tours. All the comments and opinions I have expressed here are solely my own.
Mindy Obenhaus never disappoints but this heart-tugging Christmas tale takes her fabulous storytelling to a whole new level! This romance has it all: engaging characters, a delightfully twisty-turny plot and so much holiday sweetness that you'll smell the gingerbread and taste the eggnog! I loved every word!
Mindy Obenhaus' "Their Yuletide Healing" is a stunning novel about Rae Girard and her fosterchildren Max and Maggie. Rae is the owner of a local café. When Rae has to work with Cole Heinsohn, the local's attorney, on the local fundraiser 'The Mistletoe Ball', special things happen. This story really made me feel like Christmas as the plot continued. Rae and Cole are such a wonderful couple. Also, the kids Max and Maggie melt your heart right away. The faith portion is also well woven through it.
If you like clean, Christian romance with special attention to holidays like Christmas, this is definitely a book for you.

A horrible tragedy turns to healing in this heartwarming Christmas romance.
Rae Girard is determined to give her foster children a perfect Christmas after everything that they have been through. She is surprised when Cole Heinsohn, Bliss's serious attorney offers to help. Together can they give the children a Christmas they will never forget?
Rae has a lot on her plate already, running a coffee shop and organizing the Mistletoe Ball, when she answers the call to give Max and Maggie a home. I loved Rae's big heart and how she wants to help the healing children. Cole doesn't want to step in, but he just can't say no to Aunt Tilly who ropes him into helping with the ball as well. I loved how he bonds with young Max, and how spending time with Rae and the kids helps to face convictions of the past.
A heartwarming Christmas time read about love in the face of tragedy and loss, as well as taking chances on new beginnings. A Christmas romance that was everything I could have hoped for and more, filled with romance, faith and adorable children!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Y'all, this one is too cute! Especially for the holiday season. Rae is just trying to have the perfect Christmas for the precious kiddos entrusted to her care, and Cole is just trying to keep his distance.
I wanted to wrap *all* of these characters in a hug because my goodness, their poor hearts have been through the wringer. Though this is a delightful read, it certainly has aspects of deeper emotional themes as well as inspirational threads that remind readers of the importance of truly giving it all to God.
I loved seeing more of Paisley and Crockett, the only couples I recognize as I haven't read the full series yet. But I have full intentions of doing so because Bliss, Texas settles in your heart. ❤️ Overall, this was a lovely read!
I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the author. All expressed opinions belong to me.
Their Yuletide Healing is a wonderful conclusion to the Bliss, Texas series. It is book four in the series, yet it can easily be read as a stand alone novel.
Rae and Cole were characters who showed their kind hearts right from the start of this book as they both worked to provide Rae’s foster children, Max and Maggie, with the best Christmas they could imagine, while also trying to help these kids heal from their tragic past.
Rae and Cole had pasts that made them reluctant to give in to the romantic feelings that were developing between them. There was a lot for them to overcome before they could find their happily ever after together, but it was definitely worth it.
It was great to return to this little community and get to catch up on all that was going on during the festive Christmas season!
(4.5 stars)

Mindy Obenhaus always delivers a wonderful story in her books, and Their Yuletide Healing will tug at your heartstrings while putting you in the spirit of the holidays.
Rae is well loved and hard working. She’s determined to give the children in her care the best Christmas possible. When she’s tasked to oversee the town’s fundraiser for foster children, she’s thrown into the duties with local attorney Cole. This is a man who protects is heart fiercely because of his childhood.
And because of said childhood, Rae’s foster children find his soft spot. Maggie and Max have some of their own healing to do, but under Rae’s loving care and Cole’s determination to earn their trust, they blossom.
This is an excellent finale to Obenhaus’s Bliss, Texas series as the four women friends have found more fulfillment and joy than they believed possible when readers first met them. I can’t recommend Obenhaus’s books enough.

Loved this sweet Christmas story. Rae and Cole are fantastic and the kids are adorable in this story. I read this book in basically one setting because I couldn’t put it down. Great and wonderful story!
The final story in the Bliss, Texas series, Their Yuletide Healing is a lovely Christmas read! I adore books with children, they just add a different emotion and connection. Rae Girad is finally a foster mother and determined to make the first Christmas with the kids perfect. She is shocked when the town’s Scrooge offers his help. Cole Heinsohn feels a connection with Rae’s charges and wants them to have the amazing day he never had. As disaster looms, they may not have their perfect holiday, but they may find something better, a family. It is so nice to read about Rae! She seemed so lovely and nurturing in the other books, so I was excited that she was able to foster. It was so sweet to see her with the kids. They had gone through a lot and the adoration was mutual although it took a bit. Honestly, she was trying so hard to make everything amazing and perfect for them, my heart was so full for her. I also felt for her as she took so much on to make things go right. She was a bit of a perfectionist and did not like asking for help. I definitely related to that! Cole was also a sweetheart, even if he was a bit reserved. He had gone through a rough childhood and was holding himself back from a lot. It was so sweet to see him with Rae and the kids. They stole his heart before he even realized it! He grew a lot through his relationship with them. The kids were adorable and so resilient. They had a tough go, but were flourishing with Rae even with some setbacks. I thought that this was a fun and sweet holiday book! I enjoyed reading it and it was pretty quick overall. I would recommend it to those who enjoy clean romance with strong familial aspects. There is mention of child abuse and trauma, but nothing graphic.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.
They deserve a perfect Christmas... and Max and Maggie's foster mom Rae Girard is prepared to do everything in her power to ensure that they get it. But how to reach two children traumatized by the abuse they saw will take some work and maybe some help. And Rae doesn't do help easily.
When Bliss's Mistletoe Ball lands in the middle of her life Rae is less than thrilled, especially when Cole Heinsohn is asked to "help" her pull it all together. Cole is everything Rae isn't aloof, grim, unsocial, and not a fan of Christmas. How such a person is expected to help is beyond Rae's imagination, but Cole proves to be a surprise especially when he takes an active interest in both Max and Maggie.
Romance is something neither Rae nor Cole is interested in due to their painful pasts so of course one expects that to go out the window. And what follows is a sweet story of care, concern, and a chance at family. Their Yuletide Healing is one of those leave-you-happy books though there are a few times you may want to have a tissue or two nearby. A perfect book to get you in the holiday spirit. And there is even a special visit with Santa that is more than a little touching.
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion - all thoughts expressed are my own.
As a finale to Mindy Obenhaus's Bliss, Texas four book series, Their Yuletide Healing strikes some unexpected notes while delivering a story of forgiveness, redemption, and Christmas romance.
Brought together by circumstances - and an elderly aunt with a certain twinkle in her eye - Rae Girard and Cole Heinsohn are suddenly in charge of bringing off the annual Bliss yuletide ball to benefit children in foster care. Neither one is interested in a relationship, but Cole's empathy for Rae's foster children soon has them seeing more of each other than is strictly required by the yuletide ball. Beset by obstacles and emergencies, Cole and Rae begin to open up to each other - though neither is quick to risk their heart.
Once again, Mindy Obenhaus has created a story and characters that touch the heart. And while this is ultimately a feel-good love story set during the holiday season, it is not necessarily a light read.
If you enjoy a Contemporary Christian Romance with characters in their forties and fifties - though Cole read younger for me - whose lives revolve around their professions, their faith, and the sometimes adorable children in their lives, then this is a book (and perhaps series) to check out.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
Their Yuletide Healing: An Uplifting Inspirational Romance by Mindy Obenhaus is the final book in the Bliss Texas series. I have read a a couple of the other books in this series and was excited to read this book also.
The main character in this book is Rae Girard, owner of the Town Coffee House and a foster mom who is trying to plan a GREAT Christmas for her kids, Max and Maggie. I LOVE how she was joyfully shocked when Cole Heinsohn, the town attorney known for being a Scrooge, offers to help her make a wonderful Christmas for her kids. I have to say my favorite part of the book was reading how Cole was able to let his guard down and allow his hardened heart to be softened. Max and Maggie really tugged at his heart and he was able to reveal his baggage that kept him so distant from others for so many years. The bond between Max and Cole was AMAZINGLY Beautiful! He bonded with LOVE and to be able to do something for Max that Cole missed out on as a child. Rae is a wonderful Foster Mom and very caring. I enjoyed seeing how the 4 of them grew from individuals to what would possibly become a family! I would read this book again and again. A GREAT Christian Fictional Romance!
This story was another wonderful visit back to Bliss and this time we deal with issues of abuse and foster care. I love how the author tackled this issues, not shying away from the main deal but still making it easy to understand showing the different types of abuse and the effect it has on the individual in the long run. Both Rae and Cole are definitely not for romance at this moment but it seems to find them when they least expect it. Rae has charge of two foster kids and she tries to make it the best Christmas for them in the midst of her busy schedule. When Collar comes into their lives though it's hard for them to adjust initially and there's some denial on both their parts, it ends up working out in the end, leaving you with warm fuzzies and a smile on your face I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author via JustRead tours. All opinions expressed are solely mine
This is the final installment in the Bliss Texas series but I was able to read it as a stand-alone. First off that adorable cover had me and I knew I had to read this one. I loved this book deals with fostering children and the challenges it presents. Rae is a strong woman who wants her children to heal and feel secure while she is running a cafe and organizing The Mistletoe Ball. Tilly sends her nephew Cole to help with the ball and we get to watch a friendship unfold that is delightful. I loved how Cole took to the children and the special things he does and the reason behind it all. Those children held my heart in their hands and I just wanted to hug on them. What’s not to love as this book contains children, family, Christmas, faith, and unexpected happenings that cause distress but lead to happiness. A beauty for ashes story. You must add this to your Christmas book list. I received a complimentary copy from the author. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.
I love this book! A wonderful story of love and forgiveness, and the true meaning of Christmas. Rae and Cole make a great couple and the kids are just adorable! 5 stars
This was a great conclusion to the Bliss, Texas series. It was admirable that Rae was trying to give her foster children the best possible Christmas. I liked her right away. Cole was also a likable character and I was drawn in immediately to how he wanted to help Rae's foster son. Cole's story added an extra layer of depth to this story.
I loved how the characters of this series were a little older than most contemporary romance characters. Although this is the fourth book in this series, it can be read without having read the first three without a problem.
The cover of this book was irresistible and why I picked it up in the first place. Just the picture of those two children won my heart right away. Then when I read the synopsis on the back I took it straight to the checkout line. I was not disappointed. This brings a heartwarming story of foster care and love. Childhood traumas are touched on and how they affect children but also adults that carry them with them through adulthood. Rae just wanted to give her foster kids the perfect Christmas, but she had left out the most important part. When tragedy strikes she is brought to her knees but true love is shown through many hearts. This was a personal purchase. My review is done freely with no connections.
As it turns out, this is the last of a four-part series, but I read it stand-alone and that was quite okay. A tender story, dealing very well with the trigger themes of abuse and foster care. The author transcends this with God's healing love and guidance. A beautiful story for Christmas.
This is the second book I have read by Mindy Obenhaus and it does not disappoint. I would love to visit this town of Bliss especially at Christmas because then I could attend the Mistletoe Ball. It sounds like a great event to attend especially this year since it is being held at the local castle. I also would love to get to know the townspeople better. Mindy Obenhaus did a wonderful job of bringing these characters to life. I find myself wanting to help Cole realize that he does not give himself enough credit when it comes to his generosity and kind spirit. And the two kids, Maggie and Max, sound like they would be awesome to be around. I would also love to tell Rae that love is worth the risk. I would definitely recommend reading this book to any Christmas lover.
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in order to give an honest review.
In this short novel, we meet Rae Girard, who is trying to fulfill the wishes of two foster children who have had a traumatic experience in their lives. Rae wants to give them the best Christmas ever, so she is pulling out all the stops. However, when Tilly, one of the event organizers for the annual Mistletoe Ball, asks Rae and Cole Heinsohn, Tilly’s nephew, to work together, Rae ends up with a lot more on her slate than she was wanting.
Cole Heinsohn is battling his own demons, and trying to pair up with local café owner, Rae Girard, to work on the Mistletoe Ball was all he needed. However, he soon creates a connection with Rae’s foster kids and understands their pain and grief. But they aren’t the only ones that Cole creates a connection with. He finds himself falling in love with Rae, but she has her own set of battles and tries to remain distant, because of her past situations.
Will Cole and Rae be able overcome their past experiences and be able to work together on the Mistletoe Ball or will they hinder themselves and destroy the only bonds they have come to know? You will have to check out this great Holiday theme Love Inspired Novel for more.
What I liked about this book, is that is was a short and easy read. Perfect for those that don’t have a lot of time. I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it for anyone that wants to get into a holiday romance. I want to thank the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion. I was not compensated in anyway and was not obligated to leave a review.
Their Yuletide Healing by Mindy Obenhaus is the fourth book in her Bliss Texas series from Love Inspired.
This was a touching Christmas romance. Rae has her hands full with so many things, most important of all the two foster children who have been through so much. I love how Cole determines to show them that they can trust him, because he understands how they feel.
I found this to be a quiet romance. In other words, the romance wasn’t center stage, yet unlined the whole story in slowly building fashion. It made the tension understandable and the ending so sweet.
If you’re looking for a lovely Christmas read with all the holiday feels, then pick up the conclusion to the Bliss Texas series.

THEIR YULETIDE HEALING by Mindy Obenhaus is the 4th book in the Bliss Texas series. It’s the fabulous story of Rea Girard and Cole Heinsohn as they find themselves working together to organizing and orchestrate the Mistletoe Ball. While learning more about each other, they might learn that their true Christmas wish is for their time together not end after the ball is over!
Rea is fostering two siblings, Maggie-6 and Max-5, who she loves dearly. They came to her after their father murdered their mother. Maggie was in school, but poor Max was at home and saw it all leaving him with a great fear of men. She’s hoping to be able to adopt them when they are legally up for adoption. Her wish is to give them both a memorable Christmas like she had growing up. Working at her business, Rae’s Fresh Start Café, and working to make it a memorable Christmas, has Rea working double time. The last thing she needs is to be handed the huge job of organizing the Mistletoe Ball and making it a success. However, that’s exactly what happened with Tilly Becker, who normally handles it all, announced she had family obligations causing her to leave town, she leaves Rea with her organization binder, that she uses every year in order for things to run smoothly, and her phone number to call for emergencies. Not having a legitimate reason to say no, she accepts the binder and prays she can do it all. She doesn’t want to fail at any of it.
Cole may be an attorney, but he’s happiest when not in a crowd or having to deal with lots of people – especially one on one. It’s a result of his abusive upbringing. His father was extreme verbally abusive to both his mother and Cole. Sadly, his mother died a few years back and now his father is in a rest home suffering from dementia. He is completely different now from the man who raise Cole. Ironically, now he is good natured and downright friendly, but he doesn’t remember his son at all. He lives believing his young wife will back in just a little while. While Cole tends to his father’s needs, he’s determined to remain single due to the fear that he would turn out just like his father. Cole’s never been one to celebrates much at Christmas because it was never a fun time in his youth. When pretty much hogtied (because he could never turn down his aunt – who along with her husband helped him so much as a child) to be co-chairperson for the Mistletoe Ball, he’s not sure how successful they will be. Knowing he will be working alongside Rae is another problem. It does seem less so when he finds out she’s fostering two children. When he finds out about their abuse and the young boys fear of men, he’s more than determined to be the man to pull the young boy out of his fear. Having been there himself, he can relate on a different level than most. Helping these too small children becomes his goal for the holiday season. Hopefully along the way, they can make the ball a success since it benefits Bliss Children’s Ranch and foster families.
Will working together have them learning more about the each other and having their opinion of each other change from their preconceived notions? Will Cole caring about the feelings of the children warm Rae’s heart? THEIR YULETIDE HEALING is the fabulous story that opens the eyes of the young, not so young and the reader as to the true meaning of Christmas. It’s a story of putting the hurts of the past behind you, enjoying the present fully and looking forward to the bright new future. Mindy Obenhaus gives us a story of hope, learning from one’s past, forgiveness, the chance to see Christmas through the eyes of a child, family, sweet romance and wraps in it a glorious thread of faith. THEIR YULETIDE HEALING is a FIVE STAR story worthy of reading anytime of the year! I highly recommend it.
Although part of a series, THEIR YULETIDE HEALING can most definitely be read as a standalone book.

Their Yuletide Healing is the fourth book in the Bliss, Texas series. This is the final book of the series that was based on four women who moved to the small town of Bliss, Texas, and found love, faith, and wonderful friendships. This was a beautiful and heart-warming story of two people who wanted to give two foster children the best Christmas they had ever had. Rae Girard had always dreamed of having children but after her bitter divorce, she was not willing to trust another man with her heart again. She moved to the small town of Bliss and opened Rae’s Fresh Start Café. Now she has the chance to be a foster mother for Max and Maggie and she wants them to have the best Christmas and experience all the wonderful traditions she had when she was a child. Grumpy attorney Cole Heinsohn didn’t do Christmas, but his aunt pressured him into helping Rae with the Mistletoe Ball. He was raised in an emotionally abusive household and his fears of turning into his father have kept him from forming any permanent relationships. Long ago he decided to never have a family and risk it, but something touched his heart when he heard Max’s story. He wanted to be the one who taught Max that some men can be trusted. The book was beautifully written, and I have loved this series since I read the first book and meet the people of Bliss, Texas. They are a community that helps one another and offers friendship and encouragement to newcomers. I loved watching Cole grow and realize his fears were just that fears. Seeing him open up and become part of Rae’s and the children’s Christmas traditions was endearing. I loved this series and hate to see the end of it but maybe we will see some of the characters in other books by the author. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
