Wrong, Wright #3

Wrong Place, Wright Time

Rate this book
Staying in is my favorite thing to do. So, if you relate, you’ll understand my reticence about leaving the quiet comfort of my home for a night out at a noisy drag club.

But it’s for a good cause. My big brother is in town, and this is a chance to get to know his new girlfriend. I can’t really say no without looking snotty like the rest of the Wright family comes across. My aim in life is to be everything my father is not.

Lucky for me, there’s another reason to attend tonight too. A tall, dark and handsome piece of man candy going by the name of Banks Johnson. We met briefly this afternoon and let me tell you, the air sizzled. I’m likely to get burned if I get too close.

But while I swore off men when my last relationship went south, when I find myself in the wrong place and it’s just Banks and me who’ll know, I decide it’s the right time to throw caution to the wind.

One night can’t hurt, right? Unless I somehow lose my heart….

As with all Megan Wade books, this installment of the Wrong/Wright series comes with her Sugar Promise. High heat, low drama, guaranteed.

Fun Staying In

This is a really sweet book with plenty of sizzle as Banks tries to turn the one-night stand with Isla into forever. I love his approach!

Ever since that night in his bed, I’ve dreamed of little else. It’s like he ruined me for anyone and everything else. Even my vibrator is no match for the sexual stylings of Banks Johnson.
-- Isla Wright

They have missteps, of course, but the rewards are perfectly suited for them. And that ending...! 💗🤗💗

I read this as part of the So Wrong, It's Wright collection.

I thought that this was a really cute book. Isla and Banks were great together. As with all of Ms. Megan's book, there is very little drama but a lot of steam and sweetness. Isla is some issues to get through but Banks is willing to go the distance for her and to show her that he is her man. I really enjoyed this book and this series, and I would recommend it and Ms. Megan as a great author.

Walls hard to break
The story is very well written, tender, hot, with characters who like each other, but Isla, is already divorced twice under 30 years old and Banks is too much risk taking for this heiress for her heart. Banks must therefore find a way to break down her walls.

He is ready to go all in for love with her....but she just wants to bet a little

Wrong Place, Wright Time is the third book in the Wrong, Wright series and is the story of Isla Wright and Banks Johnson. Isla is twenty-nine years old and to say she keeps picking the wrong man is an understatement. She is not divorced for the second time and has given up on romance and love, I mean who needs to have their heart broken yet again. So she devotes herself to working in the family company, Wright Media Corporation, in the PR department. Banks is thirty years old and has opened a bar in the financial district in NYC. He is actually a former Wall Street trader who had enough and wanted out. He may not have gone far but it is a vast distance between his careers. The man is also a workaholic who does not do serious when it comes to relationships with the opposite sex.
When Banks and Isla cross paths there is an immediate attraction and they act on it. Let the toes curl and the body sing as these two are white hot. The thing is that Banks can't get enough of Isla and wants "more" with her. She is not about to trust him, as she already has a trust issue. Plus the whole "friends with benefits" situation is more than satisfying for her. It is going to be up to Banks to show Isla that he might just be the one to stick the landing in her heart.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

This is the story of Isla and Banks. Isla is part of the Wright family and Banks is Darren's cousin. Isla is waiting to be part of the chair of Directors of Wright Media however, her dad and uncles refused to retire. She was divorced twice and did not believe in love, mostly, she did not want her heart broken again. Banks worked at Wall Street and left that work to open a bar, Banked Up, and was completely successful. Once he met Isla, he wanted her. After their first encounter, she decided that he was too risky if she wanted to keep her promise of no more relationships. However, he realized that he wants to marry, has a family, a wife and kids. He decided to make her fall in love with him, but they began to cultivate their friendship. He tried and tried but he wanted more. The problems is that she wanted to be Friends with Benefits. Will Banks make Isla change her mind and open to love? Will the old Wrights retire and let the new Wright generation run the business?
I love the story, characters and plot. I loved the friends, Karen and Ronan and how they helped Isla and Banks to move in the correct direction. Darren and Theo always make the funny and important appearance. Great story line and development of characters. Highly recommended.

Another good read on this series. Even though these books are described as romantic comedies (and they are funny) they also are full of heart which makes them so realistic and relatable.

Isla Wright is twice divorced at age 29 and is not interested in getting her heart broken again. She works in PR in her family's firm, Wright Media Corporation. She is tall, beautiful, curvy, prefers to stay in rather than sociaize, has self-esteem and trust issues.

Banks Johnson is a former Wall Street trader who have it up at age 30 to open a bar in the Financial District. He is tall, dark skinned and a workaholic. He has never had a serious relationship, but that changes when he meets Isla. They were supposed to go see his cousin's drag show, but ended up having drinks together then hooking up. He wants to prove to her he will stick around so he starts meeting her in the morning and walking her to work. They get together for dinner and puzzle making and he shows her his secret hobby. They fall in love but she is still not interested in getting married again. They break up but manage to reconcile after he makes a grand gesture and get their HEA.

Megan is an amazing author and her Wrong/Wright series is one of my favorites!! This book about Isla Wright and love interest Banks is swoon worthy!! You will immediately fall in love with Banks and his patient and romantic pursuit of Isla.

After two failed marriages, Isla is not interested in relationships no matter how Banks might make her feel. Banks on the other hand is ready for that step in life and knows that for him it’s Isla or no one. Knowing her rough history, he sets out to show her that she can depend on him. Building a rock solid friendship before making any moves towards more sets this up for success. But Isla still has to make the choice to move them towards more.

There is so much to love about this book! The instant connection and cute early flirtations. Their first steamy hookup. Banks’ slow and patient pursuit of Isla’s heart. The beautiful growth of friendship. The way that boring hobbies actually open the door to more intimacy. The HOT hickey that brands her body and her heart. The grand gesture to end all grand gestures! The ending that brings the whole journey together! Read their book and enjoy their love!!!

Megan Wade's Wrong, Wright series continues with the third book, Wrong Place, Wright Time. Only twenty-nine and divorced twice, Isla Wright has shut the door on love, focused on getting her father's and uncles' attention and making a difference at Wright Media. Enter Banks Johnson. The thirty-eight year old made it big on Wall Street, then gave it all up for his dream to own one of the hottest bars in the city. Meeting through mutual friends and family, Isla gives into a one night stand, then promptly friend-zones Banks. But Banks is ready to settle down and have a family - and he wants it with Isla. Understanding why she has built up the walls she has, Banks is intent to prove himself to Isla. Isla and Banks are have Kindle-melting chemistry, and are such engaging characters in their own right that if they were the only two characters in the book, it would be fabulous. However, the supporting cast - especially Darren - make this a can't-put-it-down novel, and another excellent addition to this fabulous series!

Gentle romance of insecure BBW and her forever man. Isla is a successful business woman who likes nothing more than to decompress by staying at home and doing jigsaw puzzles. She encounters gorgeous bar owner, & ex financial wizard, Banks, for the second time on a night out with mutual friends and relatives. He already caught her interest at their first meeting, but her insecurities and workaholic lifestyle prevented her from pursuing the attraction. This is a gentle romantic tale with lots of heat and sigh-worthy moments. I loved Banks’ persistence in breaching Isla’s barriers, in particular, how he reveals his unusual hobby to her. There are some amusing interludes, one in particular made me laugh out loud (we’ve all been there!) you’ll know which one I’m alluding to when you get to it! The romantic side of any reader will appreciate the lengths Banks goes to, to win the woman he quickly realises is ‘the one’. Great ending as he gets her the one thing he knows she wants most and great HEA.

Isla is part of the notorious Wright family, but hopes to soon help change what they are know for. She’s waiting her time out in the family conglomerate until her and her cousins are in charge and can really make a positive change. While doing that, she is content in living her solitary homebody life after being burned multiple time in the romance department.

Banks is content in his life, but gets a shock to his system with the chemistry he experienced while going to support his cousin at one of his shows. Turns out the chemistry was more that a passing feeling and now you have Isla and Banks trying to work past their personal histories to see if they can share a future together.

Really enjoyed all the characters in this story. Although you will not need to read the he other books in the series, you’ll learn to love the secondary characters more if you do. Can’t wait to delve into the next one when released.

HEA
Standalone, interconnected characters

*over 18 readers only*

Trigger warnings
Toxic family
LGBTQ+ side characters (get over it)

Isla (29, mfc)
Ash (42, brother)
Banks (mmc)
Darren/ Coco Monroe (Ash's wife's brother's husband, drag queen, and cousin to Banks)

Isla works in the family's media company. She can't change how things are done until the 3 heads of the family retire, and they are set in their outdated ways. All she does is work and has lost two marriages to her job. Ash introduces Isla to Banks, whose cousin is a drag queen. Banks and Isla hit it off great, things progress that night, but then she up and leaves. He's flabbergasted. That's never happened to him before. He spends the next several weeks proving to her he really does want her, that he is not like her ex-husbands. But catching feelings for a woman that is so against marriage makes things difficult... What can he do for her that she can't do herself? What could he possibly give her to show he is 100% committed?

Maybe one or two typos, but otherwise great

3.5 stars. Isla, the female lead, has been emotionally hurt, twice, by men she trusted enough to marry and she is very gunshy of having ANY relationship, let alone a serious one.

Banks, the male lead, is a little older and has achieved all his career goals. He’s now looking for the next phase of life and is enthralled by Ilsa. At first, he’s willing to abide by her limitations but, over time, becomes unsettled by her continuing refusal to consider anything more than what they have.

With some secondary character input, both are able to consider what they want and how they can compromise to have a relationship that both are content with.

This story is dual POV, well written, and I appreciated that it focused on them as introverted characters that deeply enjoyed the quiet time at home together.

This is part of a series of books with interlinked characters but that can still be read as a stand alone.
Isla is a twice divorced curvy woman who's sworn not to have her heart vulnerable ever again.
Banks is a single man who has never thought of marriage and children but as he's approaching his very late 30's he's beginning to have a change of heart.
When they first meet they're both aware of the chemistry that's there and one night after a few to many drinks they spend the night together, but in the morning Isla bolts thinking once Banks has sobered up he'll be glad to see the last of her. She couldn't be more wrong!
It's a good job these two have best friends who can talk some sense into them and steer them into seeing what it is they really want, which is each other, whether that's with marriage, or not, with children, or not.
I really enjoyed following Isla and Banks to their HEA.

Isla is waiting for her father and uncles to retire so she can takes over with her cousins. Things aren't going they way they want in the company and it doesn't look like anything is going to change. Banks runs a bar called Banked Up and he is completely taken by Isla. One night despite her saying she was done with relationships she goes home with Banks. Banks think its the start of something but when Isla gets up to go home he sees she is still running. Banks is ready to settle down and is very determined to get Isla to fall in love with him. Will he get his woman? Can Isla see that she can be with Banks despite her previous failed relationships?

This is an amazing story that you will lose yourself in. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is a great series that follows the hearts of the Wright family. Isla is in line to take over Wright media with her 2 cousins but their fathers refuse to retire or allow the changes the cousins want to move the media empire forward. Isla has 2 failed marines and has decided marriage isn’t worth the heartache. She likes her simple life. Banks Johnson gave up his high power Wall Street life to open his bar Banked Up. When he meets Isla he knows she’s the one. The two have more in common than they ever thought. But can Banks prove to Isla that he’s not like her ex husbands and convince her he’s never going to not want to be with her for her curves, cellulite, introvert, puzzle loving, nerdy self because that’s everything he needs? Can Banks prove that he’s the “Wright” one for her forever?

Isla Wright had given up on love and marriage after two failed marriages. She preferred to stay home watching TV and putting puzzles together. Then one evening her brother introduced her to bar owner, Banks Johnson. They seemed to hit it off right away so they agreed to go on a double date with her brother and his girlfriend, but the at the time of the date they got distracted missing meeting them. Isla did not want to see Banks again, but he decided she was the one for him. He only had to convince her. That was definitely going to be easier said than done. Their chemistry was over the top. Banks and Isla had lots of advice from friends and family of what to do and not do. Enjoy this exciting read as Banks and Isla discover what`s best for them.

This was a cute addition to the Wrong/Wright series. A woman who's sworn off marriage after being burned by love and a man who actually wants the commitment of marriage and kids. Banks and Isla's story really was adorable and I really felt like we could relate to their struggles on their journey to HEA. Love is never easy especially after you've been hurt before. Isla was convinced that all she needs in her life is her job and Banks was trying to show her that there could be more. They met through Isla's brother and had chemistry from the start they both want different things from a relationship though. Can they overcome their differences and get their HEA? You really need to read this book and go on their journey to see what happens with Banks and Isla. I would definitely recommend this book.

A really great story! Isla has been through two divorces and doesn’t want any more relationships. She meets Banks, and whilst she is incredibly attracted to him, she won’t allow herself more than one night with him. Banks however has different ideas, he wants Isla, and he is going to prove to her that she can rely on him. After months of building a friendship and a relationship of sorts, Banks wants more, and even though Isla previously told him she didn’t want a serious relationship, he still declares his love, however when he doesn’t get the response he wants, he walks away leaving himself and Isla heartbroken. A really enjoyable story, loved the characters and humour in the book, made me laugh out aloud in parts. A really good book that I would recommend.

Wrong Place, Wright Time was a sweet and fun little read. After two failed marriages the last thing on Isla's mind was love. When the beautiful, sassy, and witty introvert caught Banks' eye he realized this time things were going to be a bit different. As a former trader now successful bar owner Banks was ready for the next phase of his life and hopeful that the enchanting Isla just might be a part of it as well. I enjoyed the slow buildup between them and how they shared their quirky and unique hobbies. I loved how Banks sets out to prove to her just how different things could be with them. The secondary characters were great and the way they helped these two see what they'd each be missing out on made me love them all the more. Overall this was an adorable feel good read.

After two failed marriages twenty nine year old Isla Wright has no intention of going down the commitment road again, if it just wasn’t for the fact of Bank Johnson the man who sets her all aflame, Hunk extraordinaire!
This was a steamy, fun and sweet Contemporary Romance featuring likable characters, a well written narrative and two leads traversing the sometimes difficult but always rewarding path to love.
Banks Johnson wants the whole nine yards, love AND marriage while Isla isn’t willing to go there again, and convincing Isla powers this fast paced emotionally charged ultimately satisfying read. HEA

Such a great story, with an amazing flow that pulls you in! The characters are simply wonderful... not only the main characters, but their circle of friends as well! I loved Isla - she´s super sweet, independent, sassy, cute, strong, and fierce!!! This is no quiet little wallflower... this is a woman that knows what she wants and isn´t willing to compromise her dreams! LOVED her! And of course, Banks is just as amazing as she is... he is determined and knows how to work for what he wants - and he wants her. They´re beyond hot together, yet their connection is so much more. It`s a fun story that`s cute, sweet, funny, extra steamy and beyond entertaining!

This is the first story that I've read in the Wrong/Wright series. Totally enjoyed this fun story. Love the storyline and the fact that Isla is tired of marriage and after two divorces she's ready to just focus on moving up in the family firm. She meets Banks when she meets with her brother and his girlfriend. They both are attracted to each other but Banks wants the whole package of love, marriage and kids. He has a long road to go to change Isla's mind about their future. They have their misunderstanding but Banks is working hard to have Isla change her mind. They have great chemistry together, laughs, advice, drama. Will they get their HEA? Great story. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Oh this was a cute and sweet book.... the passion and heat between these two is fabulous. To take it slow and never give up on what you truly want, yes it is scary to take another chance at love but in the end it could be worth it..
Isla never had great luck with men, after 2 ruined marriages she has called off relationships. Until she meets Banks, she tries so hard to fight off the attraction but it is impossible.
Banks knew Isla was special right from the beginning, but she tries her hardest to avoid him. But he will not stop until he wins her over, he wants a future with her , he will break down her walls.

How often do you find a woman in a romance novel who wants to have a “friends with benefits” relationship and a man that wants to get married. Not too often, right? Well that’s what we find here. She’s definitely running scared after two failed marriages. After finally getting the nerve to say those all important three little words, things don’t go according to plan, and Banks walks out. With the help us his best friend, they hatch an amazing plan for Banks to get his girl back. Hopefully, it’s foolproof!

I enjoyed this book. It was a great addition to the series.

Another good read by a good author that you will enjoy readying about. Banks and Isla are a couple that as soon as they meet there is a reaction that none can let go. When they are suppose to go the the drag show she shows up at his bar and one thing leads to another. She’s had two divorces because they want the fame that comes with the last name and she doesn’t know if she can open her heart up again. Banks will do anything to prove that he’s different but I don’t know if it will be enough. Get this book today and find out if they get their happily ever after!

It missed the mark

I keep trying to analyze why I didn't love this story. It feels like something is missing. Maybe it is the lighthearted humor that was sprinkled all over the other stories in this series and was seriously lacking in this one. Or maybe it was how it took Isla more than 90% of the story to get her act together. She took so long to finally decide to have a relationship that I started hoping Banks would go find another girl that better deserved his love and attention. I think this was an okay addition to the series, but it's not my favorite.
