Even magical families have their share of secrets. And Drow Royalty's secrets run even deeper--with a hint of danger.
Cheyenne Summerlin's finding that out firsthand.
Can anyone in her family tell the truth and avoid the mayhem?
That doesn't seem likely.
The Crown has their eye on Cheyenne and Ember. They've been tracking them all over town. First to Bianca's house, then Cheyenne's apartment, and now the school where she teaches. Is there a trap waiting to be sprung?
Is it connected to whoever is melding human tech with O'gúl tech? That's a nasty piece of work. Could the Crown go that low?
Cheyenne and Ember are in a race to complete the last trial and place the coin on the altar. Is this the destiny they want to fulfill?
Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
This was an exciting book, in this already great series!
There was so much action, and plenty of danger, for Cheyenne and her companions, as she goes back to Ambar'ogul, through the do-dangetpus portal that she'd not long travelled through begore.
She's accompanied, this time, by her Father, to do what the Drow, L'zar Verdys, had asked of her, and is making this journey to conclude the trial she had started, against the Crown of Ambar'ogul.
This has been a really convoluted plot, as L'zar didn't explain half of the things that he wanted Cheyenne to complete but, with her best friend, the Fae, Ember, who is also her Nos Ani - a close companion/champion/ guard/advisor - Cheyenne feels able to conclude her trials.
There is so much going on in this series, and on so many levels, and I'm thoroughly enjoying every book, so I'm very keen to go on to the next one, of this 18-book series, which is the first book of the second Boxed Set - Book Ten: ' Drow Royalty'.
As usual, it's silly o'clock in the morning, with me reading all through the night, once more, so I'll get a few hours of sleep, before I start this next book.
But, once I have, i'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know if it lives up to the rest of the books, so far!
So I've just loved this series and this one didn't fail to live up to the rest. Martha Carr what a good job weaving a fun story with alot of ass kicking and masterful weaving of a tale.
Wow, things get even more real! Loads of action, suspense and intrigue. Can both worlds even contain our beloved goth drow? Cannot wait to read the next book!
After all the wrangling and pain, Cheyenne succeeds. Good story line and a consistent character relationships are some the things that make this volume
