Finding happiness with Tor was Unexpected, but I don't regret it. Even if our happiness looks different from what people may expect. He's not my father, he's my lover. Yet he makes me feel the way a father should - protected, cared for, safe. And he definitely makes me feel the way a lover should - hot, needy, and wanting more. Our relationship may be dark to some...But it works for us ... And damn, is it ever working. Then he shows up. The only other man to stake claim to me. My real father.
Consumed is a full-length novel and the second & final book of the Taboo Duet series. Consumed MUST be read following Unexpected.
WARNING: This novel explores the taboo nature of a DD/lg dynamic/Daddy kink. It is a steamy novel with low angst and a HEA ending. NO ageplay in either book. For Adult readers ONLY.
Daisy Jane is a forbidden love romance author, inspired by VC Andrews and more . When she's not penning a hot age gap novel or dreaming up steamy stories, she's enjoying the sunshine and warmth at her home in California. She enjoys reading, true crime, exercise and, of course, romance.
When two lovers are constantly facing judgement they have two choices. Buckle under the pressure or stand united as Tor and Gianna do and allow their love to evolve. Oh and give society the middle finger because you shouldn't be shamed for who you love.
When we find that place of peace and acceptance, true fucking happiness in one another, when the rest of the commotion of the world fades away and goes dark. Then we can see the light burning between us, so bright.
A significant age gap and a brief moment when Tor was a temporary step dad to Gianna, makes their relationship raise eyebrows. However grief introduced them, but it's their passion and love that makes them burn. And if their dynamic has shifted to daddy kink, it's exactly what they're looking for.
You want to be reading Consumed after the first book Unexpected to fully appreciate how they got here. Where Gianna thrives on care and being doted on, Tor is a born nurturer. It's uncomplicated and natural, plus everything they've yearned for. They take comfort in the power exchange and their newfound sexuality. And damn it's hot!
Mark me. “On my face, and here,” I tap my breasts, “and on my belly,” I say, really trying as hard as I can to let go of the lingering embarrassment that is tethered to my honest admission of a deep-seated fantasy. But Daddy doesn’t shame me. Daddy understands.
Their relationship seems taboo and inappropriate to outsiders. However neither Tor or Gianna are afraid of the the struggle. They've found home in each other and now they are complete. Consumed was loving, emotional and Daisy Jane didn't shy away from the fireworks in the bedroom. Wow it was saucy and passionate! 🔥🔥
Consume is book two in A taboo duet. Unexpected should be read first. As much as I enjoyed both books, I actually enjoyed this book a little more; on that note, Consume receives 4.5 stars. Do read the author's trigger warning; the book is slightly taboo with Dd/lg. I loved it; however, it’s not for everyone.
Tor and Gianna's story starts shortly after book one ended. With outside help, they face many bumps in their relationship—actually, more than bumps, more like boulders. I have to say I was teared up on some parts, Make no mistake; you can feel the love between the two. I was literally shouting to tell people to mind their business. The book still has the old meet new Vegas vibe. Which I personally love.
There is a proper mixture of steamy spice with romance, and it's smoking hot. I love how they made judgemental people uncomfortable in public; I couldn't help but laugh. Gianna is such a strong woman who has such crappy parental units in her life, which molded how she is, and Tor is fiercely protective. He would do anything for Gianna. The author knows how to write an age gap romance with a taboo factor. I am not ready to say goodbye to them and hope to see them in the future. If you like taboo age gape with dd/lg this is for you.
I feel a little justified dragging my feet in read this after Unexpected considering this really didn’t add anything major to book one. I found myself skimming a little bit towards the end especially during the sex scenes. Overall an okay read for me.
I loved this book quite a bit! It picks up where the first book left off, and a lot of the subplots that were introduced in the first book were nicely resolved in this one. There’s a little bit of suspense, and the angst levels are higher in this one, which I loved. I do find it interesting that Tor talked about his mother a lot in the first book, but then she never actually shows up in this one. I would have liked to have met her!
I love these two characters together. This book is full of real emotions and heartfelt connections that two kind people have that makes them stronger together. I love this series.
This book crushed me before it put me back together. The emotions were powerful and all over the pages. From start to finish, your mind, heart, and soul are put through an emotional wringer. I had to step away at around 75% because my heart was absolutely breaking for both Tor and Gianna. In such a short time, they go through so much and the hits kept coming in this book.
The romance was absolutely smoldering and never let up the entire read. The fun “daddy” banter at the start, between Tor and Gia, was not only hilarious as they made several strangers uncomfortable, but it got a little wild, as well. So very fiery!! Yes, Jane crafts age gap beautifully, deliciously, and to absolute perfection.
I am still holding out some hope, after that ending, that maybe Jane will revisit these two delectable characters and give us a bit more story. Because I would be all over it. 5 Stars!!
Set against the glittery backdrop of Las Vegas, Consumed is a perfect continuation of Tor and Gianna's love story from Unexpected! Daisy Jane gives us two perfectly imperfect people who have to overcome very realistic internal and external pressures to achieve their HEA, and boy is it a rollercoaster of suspense, action, emotions, and hot smexy times! A decision Tor makes at one point made me so upset with him, but his willingness to be vulnerable throughout the book had me falling even more in love with him than I did previously! I identify with Gianna's past a lot and her intelligence, strength, and ability to set boundaries inspires me.
Consumed is not a standalone. You must read Unexpected first to understand the characters and situation, and it is worth the read just so you can start Consumed. I have 3 words for you... bad daddy scene 👀👀👀🔥🔥🔥. Five 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read for me!
This book was a ride. Tor & Gia put me through a lot of emotions in this one. I was laughing, sobbing & completely in love with the spice. Their dynamic is everything. The communication, commission and love 🥺🖤
Daisy Jane really knows her way around miscommunication and how to do wit right. I normally don’t love it but when it’s done right oh my it’s perfection 👌🏻
I loved seeing more of these characters and diving deeper into them and their story. This duet was perfect.
This one is rated a 2.5 because of the fact that I truly with everything in my heart hate the miscommunication trope, and I was liking it until the miscommunication trope happened and I was honestly pissed off. It literally pissed me off because Sometimes miscommunication, isn’t that bad but the miscommunication in this book it was like downright stupid in my opinion. Only reason it’s such a low rating, but I’d give it three stars to even out with the spice that’s with it wish it didn’t have the miscommunication trope, because then the rating probably would’ve been higher!!
I read this and "Unexpected", back to back. They were my first romance and first taboo novels. Great storytelling and to be honest, they didn't feel "taboo", just two people really into one another. Daisy Jane can really set a mood, so beware where you read this. :)
This makes up for my mixed feelings about book 1. Bobby is worse than Angelina as a parent. He legit stole her car and sold it. Love that Tor gave Gia space to build a relationship with Bobby.
Not how I expected the conclusion of this story to go in book two. Overall, the story was good but it was slightly more dramatic than it needed to be at the end.
The first book was mostly focused on gianna’s mother and grieving her as well as overdosing/addiction but there was a bit of romance there in my opinion. There was a lot of attraction between Tor and Gianna in the first book since they met and it developed into love as the book went along but i feel like their romance wasn’t shown enough (it was shown but in my opinion it wasn’t shown ENOUGH) but that’s because it was kinda mostly about grieving but towards the end that’s when we got a whole lot of smut and romance 😏😏
i very much enjoyed the daddy kink😏😏 and i loved Tor’s dirty mouth with gianna, it was honestly beautiful. We didn’t get a whole lot of smut in the first book but there was still tension, i have a feeling there’s gonna be more spicy smut on the second book but we’ll seeeeee.
I loved how Tor took care of gianna, how soft he was with her and how dirty he can get with her aswell 😏😏I did get abit frustrated about how much gianna’s mother was brought up but that’s bc i wanted to know more about tor and gianna and then i realised ‘oh it’s part of the journey blah blah.’ But overall i enjoyed the first book and can’t wait to read about the second book!
The second book in the duet is more about gianna’s and tor’s relationship. We see then depend on each other and give each other what they did. Tor and gianna have a playful romantic relationship as well as caretaker and whatever’s the opposite of caretaker 🥴but anyways i loved reading the ways tor took care of gianna and waches out for her. They do go back on the fact gianna is young and she may want to do other stuff and person in their 20s may want to be free instead of settling down w a older person, it was kind of annoying bc gianna has made is very clear she wants to be with tor but it’s understandable why that’s a big issue in the book. There was abit more smut in this book, focused more on the daddy dynamic of thr relationship. They fit so beautifully together, made me emotional when they had their little “break” and when the book ended🥲🥲. Reading him take care of filled something in me and now i’m all emotional. I love this duet. It was emotional, funny at times, romantic and i love their relationship and dynamic.
I love the growth of the characters. I like that the content became real, and that it took into consideration that each one of them needed to grow. There was a lot of heartbreak and grit in this one.
Things that made the book not great. There were some continuity issues in this book and misspelling of a name in book one author comments.
In book one, the author comments (at the end of the book) spells Brian’s name with an I am not a Y.
In book one Salvatore tells Gianna that Michael and Andy are in a relationship and that Andy works in hospitality. In the second book, Salvatore says that both Michael and Andy are realtors.
I know this information is minor But it’s major to me because I am deep in book 2 and I loved book one so much that reread the book one and started to do a comparison. Outside of these minor things the book is great. Fantastic writing. Truly gets you thinking visually. There were times when I thought it was too wordy (same as my review) but I still liked it.
I plan to read more from this author. Happy reading, and wine drinking.
“This life I have now, it’s everything I've always wanted.”
This book picks up right at the end of Unexpected. One thing I love about Tor and Gianna is their honesty with each other: “And with her, I had no secrets. I had no reason to hold back. No more skeletons in the closet. It was, despite the age difference and always present current of electricity.”
I like that Gianna just goes with the flow and doesn’t make a big deal about his choices, which he often comments he’s surprised about.
Some great steamy scenes: “Then there’s a Tor that is punishing me like Daddy, Tor that is loving me like Daddy. 🥵🥵
I was emotional at times when certain obstacles came in their way 🤧 but luckily their HEA was beautiful 😍
God I am in a such a weird headspace not sure if its the real world or the end of summer but I have been so unable to read anything ughhh. This however was so lovely!!
I picked it up because I was so intrigued by this author. I didn’t even know it was some sort of continuation of the last story (that I lucky read) anyway talk about maturity and growth arc in this one!! Insane character development and insane emotional intelligence and maturity with a side of insanely hot smutt!!! Honestly perfection in my eyes.
I love stories like this, the ones that are technically taboo but the more involved you get with the characters the more you forget about the age gap….and whilst the DD/LG role play was at times a little strong the love story behind it was lovely. I’ve literally come away from this book thinking well wasn’t that lovely.
If you love a good romance then defo have this duet in your library.
Gianna and Tor are living in bliss and happier then either expected until a knock on the door reveals her father. While Gianna is leary about letting her father back into her life she decides to try for Tor. When things go awry can their love guide them back to what really matters?
This duology was boring af. I skimmed through majority of the book and had no trouble understanding the “plot”. This is a taboo romance and it’s an erotica. I wasn’t a fan of this book because a lot of the book felt unnecessary. I don’t think it needed to be two books I think it could’ve been one book.
I loved getting this second book and diving deeper into the relationship of Gianna and Tor. They have different dynamics in their relationship, but it works for them and that's all that matters. They had a curveball that threw that nearly split them apart, but in the end communication was key. They got their HEA and Gianna had her dreams come true.
I love that we got more of Tor and Giana's story. Their story picked up right where the first book left off. I was surprised that there was still a little trouble in store for them and it wasn't the smooth HEA at first, but after a few bumps they made it work. All set with a beautiful man...I mean city in the back.
😐😐 the miscommunication trope in this book genuinely pissed me off and ended up ruining the entire ending of the book for me. i really liked Unexpected and i was excited to dig into this sequel but it really fell short for me. the whole time i was reading it i just desperately wanted it to be over. 1.5 stars generously rounded to 2 - the 1.5 stars are SOLELY for Tor.
This is book 2 and the conclusion of Tor and Gianna's story. All I can say is to be prepared for an emotional roller coaster ride. I loved every moment of the journey and every woman deserves their own Tor.
Review: 3.9 stars! It was a classic age gap romance but I think the building of their relationship was done well. Tor and Gia were very likeable characters and both had depth to them that you slowly discovered through the two book series! Overall I really enjoyed it.
