The Darkening of Your Soul

Harry is betrayed. Harry gets a second chance to do it all over again.

There is just one catch. If Harry gets to keep his memories from his previous life, so does Voldemort.

WIP

Ugh how did I not know this was a work in progress? I’m so sad. I haven’t waited on HP fanfic WIP installments since Cassandra Clare’s Draco Trilogy. Dark times.

Wonderful story. It ends at chapter 56 a week before Ostara (spring) break in Harry's first year. Is marked incomplete.

All the members of his inner circle betray Harry, and the whole story is based on this. When Harry returns to his first year, he is now assigned to Slytherin and cannot forgive his former friends for this betrayal (Hermione, the Weasleys, Dumbledore, etc.), but surprisingly he can forgive Tom Riddle and almost all the Death Eaters on Earth. Furthermore, this “reborn” Harry in Slytherin is now a kind of genius and bookworm, while Dumbledore is just a silly old man who is almost senile.
As for the characterization of the Hogwarts houses, it's the same crap as in the original story, but reversed: here the Slytherins are intelligent, cunning, winners, and good students, while the Gryffindors are dumb (even Hermione) and violent (the Weasleys literally kill Harry).
Voldemort no longer exists (supposedly), as Tom Riddle has his original soul intact, and he and his followers are “whitewashed” as mere traditionalists trying to restore ancient magical traditions, but using a “political method.” However, they have no problem applying their own justice by killing those they deem deserving.

I know the work is unfinished, so I don't know how it was going to end. For most of the novel, I had the feeling of this whitewashing I mentioned earlier.

I mean, if you're not too picky and don't mind a not well written fic, super convenient plots and scripts and a lot of OOC, I guess you might like it.
