Wanted by the Empire...desired by two massive aliens...resistance is never futile...
Hi, I’m Lexi, soon to be ex-mercenary, thief and assassin. I’ve got one last job and I’m free of this life forever - all I have to do is relieve the galaxy's most evil warlord of one of his prized possessions. Piece of cake, right?
My first mistake was stealing Captain Bron’s stealth drive. Not the best idea if I want to stay off the Haalux Empire’s radar.
Mistake number two? Catching a ride with a bunch of spacejunkers, where I’ve picked up a new friend, Graal. He's an enormous golden Rheon male who’s following me around like a puppy dog.
And that’s how I end up stuck on the warlord’s personal planet with an angry Haalux Captain and a possessive Rheon. As distracting as these two alien males are, nothing is getting in the way of my freedom. Falling in love with them? Definitely not an option.
Because the one thing I don’t do is love.
Is Lexi about to meet her match in a strong, protective horned Rheon and a wisecracking Haalux Captain? Smart, sexy, steamy, this menage will take you on a rollercoaster ride! Havoc is the third in the Haalux Empire series by Hattie Jacks.
Lets meet the characters in Havoc. Remember Captain Bron and meeting Graal in book two. Well we seem to get some more information here about these two. Lets not forget Lexi who is one awesome chick. She is one heck of a Bad Boss Lady. Not in a bad way. This woman is smart and quick. She is like a pirate of some sorts. She has been in space for a while and she has some issues that stem from what happen to her before she was taken. She is closed off and keeps people at a distance and she is funny too. Now lets go back to Graal, he is a Rheon and everyone is scared of him. They say that they are not smart and only used as bodyguards. When he meets Lexi, he was almost in a feral state. One way to calm him is to mate him and well you get the gist. Yeah Lexi was up for the challenge. However, Lexi is a free spirit and one person is not enough for her. So then we have Bron. He can't get her out of his head since the first time they met. When these three are together it funny and steamy. Bron is open to sharing Lexi with Graal, he does not seem possessive with her around him. These three seem to manage to get themselves in a heap of trouble but no worries, Lexi is there to help out. Get ready for a lot of action and adventure. Another great addition to the series. Off to the next one.
A good Hattie Jack's read, but there are some real frustrations that color the experience.
Lexi is pretty obnoxious for a female lead. She's clearly an alcoholic yet that's never acknowledged. She's reckless beyond belief, but manages to dodge most of the bullets that come her way even when she pulls the trigger herself, which is mostly. Her arrogance is unfounded which makes her a danger to most of those around her. This is all presented as if it makes her a charming, roguish character, but it misses the mark. Even though her backstory is fairly tragic, it's hard to rustle up as much sympathy as needed to get past her unappealing character traits. I get that this is the "love heals all" trope, but it doesn't fly.
The male leads are interesting. Bron has appeared in the other books, so his backstory is known. Graal remains a frustrating mystery. He's a being with great power, but just what power remains unclear. Since this book is their story, that's a frustration point. Their story should define them.
The "mated bond" or "trinity" bond is also unclear. In numerous sections, any of the three participants can feel one or more of the others in the trinity, in specific detail. Yet at one point, Bron and Graal are told that Lexi is dead. Both believe this. What? What about the vaunted bond? This massively intense feeling that allows them to know when one of them picks up something heavy can't tell them one of the members is alive? Come on, Hattie Jacks. Pick one or the other, but don't use a known plot point and twist it around just to move the action forward. That's a crappy, cheap writing trick.
In good news, the sex in this story's strictly awesome. But the constant danger/action gets old about halfway through, particularly as it's often Lexi-created.
I like this series and hope the next book is better.
Fantastic adventure! Loved the characters and Lexi coming together with her two mates. She just seems to always get into tight situations. Bron was a tough nut but he slowly revealed a softer side where Lexi was concerned. Then there is Graal, a huge alien with a heart of gold and an over protective side where his Trinity mates are concerned. They make a great force to be reckoned with and build such a strong bond. The bad guys are back and just as evil, but not for long! A good ending for a couple! :) A great ending for Lexi, Bron and Graal as well. Looking forward to more of Jak in the next book.
I had pre ordered this prior to getting a copy via Booksprout. This has been an amazing series thus far and I am very happy to voluntarily post a review.
It was okay I guess. I couldn’t really get into the characters besides Graal he was a sweetie, Lexi might as well have been written as a boarder line alcoholic with her drinking at every turn to numb.. wasn’t really into that. Bron was alright, nothing really special
It did pull together nicely enough at the end but overall wouldn’t recommend this.
So far Havoc, Book 3 of the Haalux Empire Series is the best one yet! I love me some Graal!!! Don't get me wrong I love me some Bron too and lucky for us Lexi doesn't have to choose.
I think this had more action, more love, and even though Lexi fought her Trinity in the beginning and did some stupid stuff, more understanding between the mates.
If you only read one in the series, this one is the one you should read, though my recommendation is to read the whole series. Why? Because that's the most fun! Now, for me onto Book 4: Bane!
Dark, but funny, alien abduction PNR involving a Trinity
I highly recommend that this series be read in order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are multiple reoccurring characters and an overarching theme. Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes (MF, MFM) and violence such as kidnapping / abduction, human trafficking, assault, torture, dominant / submissive acts, fighting with some to the death. etc.
This story has dynamic characters and story universe that continues to evolve and build as it continues, both with this book and the series overall. There are grammatical issues throughout, but like previous stories in the series, nothing that presented a challenge to determine.
Warning: I will try to keep my comments more general, but if you have not read the story or series, there may be spoilers.
Last chance ….
This story focuses on something new to the series, the formation of a Trinity mating bond between Graal, Bron and Lexi, all of which are different species and background. Graal is a Rhoen and has been searching for his mates to complete and find his mission. Graal and Lexi were actually introduced in the previous story with the General and Tara. Bron is a Haalux soldier serving the Empire and has also been in previous stories. Lexi is a human female that was abducted from Earth and has been surviving by “reappropriating” certain items for her clients.
Their backgrounds, moral convictions (or lack thereof) and storyline lead to some interesting, terrifying, and laugh out loud situations.
I loved everything about this book. Read Crave and really enjoyed that one. This was even better! Funny, sexy and awesome adventures right to the end. Really is a must read book.
2.5 stars. I deeply disliked Lexi. She is an alcoholic, but never aknowledges it. She's obnoxious and stubborn, and thinks quite highly of herself. She's supposed to be intelligent, but she makes the most stupid decisions, comes out of the situations out of sheer luck, and the reader is supposed to think that's her being smart. Not buying that. Also, she blames everything and everyone but herself when her awful decisions backfire. Thankfully, this is a triple POV, if I had had to spend any more time in her head than I did I would have DNFD this. I had trouble distinguishing between Bron and Graal. Their POVs are pretty much the same, the only difference being the skin color. Still they deserved better than Lexi.
So very happy that I found this book again !!!!😃😃😃
What an exciting adventure !!! I had read this story Years ago when I had an unlimited subscription. And thought about it Often !!! Was going slowly crazy , trying to remember the name if this book, and the author. Finally , SUCCESS !!!!! Captain Bron has had a very rough time being the sole survivor of the execution of his team . He was thrown into the fighting rings . Barley survived . But he did. With a burning hatred of Hardog, the nasty Grolix in charge . Lexi is a human in this Harom galaxy for years and she just needs one last job to get as many credits as she needs for this particular ship . Just one last one . She is creative and funny and always seems to get what she is after with very dramatic results . We met her in the last book , as she helped Tara and Commander Kykar . Lexi also ended up meeting Brown and his team in that trip . Also , she might have ,' borrowed ' , Bron's stealth drive 😆😆 He is going to Kill her when he catches up with her !!!!!! As Lexi is trying to get away from Bron, the piece of junk transport ship is carrying an illegal species , A Rheon. He is a juvenile, but he has unexpectedly gone into ,' heat ' . Guess who the only female on board is ? Yep !! Lexi is persuaded to help him out ....... And this story moves very quickly after that !!! This story had it all . Broken hero's, angst, laughter, happiness . Even some mystical magic makes its way into the fabric of this fabulous story !! So happy that I got to re read it !!!! On to the next book of this series !!!
Lexi has survived for a long time after being abducted using words like this as part of her mantra. Trust no one, take it all for yourself, and give nothing away. She has her reasons. Her brother sold her to a drug cartel on Earth to repay a debt he owed. She escaped, only to be abducted from Earth n sold again as a sex slave. Vowing never to be so vulnerable n defenseless, she undergoes several surgeries to enhance her mind n her body. Using her new skills to successfully eke out a living with a modicum of comfort. Captain Bron of the Freebird , has been tasked by Rex to find Hardag , a Grolix. The only problem is Lexi stole his stealth drive. The irritating, antagonistic human thief, with the bright blue eyes n soft curves that ignites a fire deep within him. One thing is certain though, they will meet again. Graal ,a Rheon , is chained aboard a ship Lexi hired to take her to her next assignment. A client wants a certain artifact stolen from an Alinorian named Ordog. Graal has entered into luska, his mating frenzy. Lexi was asked to satisfy his need , not fully understanding the ramifications of her decision. Rheons search planet after planet for the ones who call to their essence. This story has it all n more. Want blood n gore, check, got it. Love, check. Adventure, check. Danger, check. Excitement, check. Mayhem, got that too. Kudos to the author for another wonderful story.
👽 “We have claimed her. She holds the key to our souls.” ~~~ Lexi is a total badass and I loved her so much! She’s one sassy, brave, fun, stubborn, smart and strong female mercenary. It’s admirable how she’s managed to survive so many years alone in the galaxy.
Bron and Graal are such wonderful alien males. Both are strong and protective. And while Bron is confident, bossy and patient, Graal is so sweet, caring, calm and... with a bit of destructive tendencies. Their different and unique personalities complemented each other wonderfully and brought the trinity to a whole new level.
I absolutely adored the development of their relationship. Although Lexi has some serious trust issues and there were many ups and downs, their chemistry was great and so very hot and their banters - such fun to read. And that woman definitely needs two males to keep her in line!
Overall, the story is another great addition to the series and probably my favorite so far. It’s filled with action, danger, adventure, humor, drama, mystery, excitement and steam.
I loved every page of it and cannot wait for the next one!
Havoc: Alien Captain's Alliance is the third book in The Haalux Empire series by Hattie Jacks. The series is made up of five steamy Sci-fi romances. I have enjoyed my first foray into Ms. Jacks work, pulled into all the action and adventure as these fated mates traversed all the ups and downs along the way to their HEA. With alpha alien warriors, politics, agendas, drama, angst, danger, tension, mystery, action, emotion, and lots of sizzle- this series certainly made it hard to put down for any length of time when the real world demanded my attention. The Series Contains: -Taken: Alien Commander’s Captive (Book #1) -> Commander Rexitor and Jayne’s story. -Crave: Alien General’s Obsession (Book #2) -> General Kylar and Tara’s story. -Havoc: Alien Captain’s Alliance (Book #3) -> Captain Bron, Lexi, and Rheon’s story. (MFM) -Bane: Alien Warrior’s Redemption (Book #4) -> Jak and Eve’s story. -Traitor: Alien Hunter’s Mate (Book #5) -> Terx and Stella’s story.
This has been a great introduction to Ms. Jacks work, and now I am looking forward to reading more of her books, asap. Happy Reading…
Aweee! After I finished reading the last one I knew I wanted to know more about Graal. He just seemed like such an interesting character. Of course I also thought the same about Bron in the earlier books and wanted to know more because he seemed like such a trouble maker character. Coming into this book I was stoked to see it was about Lexi, Bron and Graal. Graal was that cute earnest male who had such an innocent and devoted air about him. I loved him instantly. Bron was already on my love list from the previous books. He was brave and troubled but also seemed to have some great humor to him. Lexi was an interesting character with a sad back story and a lot of fun banter and colorful language to go with it. These three together were perfect and the interesting story behind the Rheon species was new and astounding. This book was full of action, suspense, thriller, comedy and spice. While also have a great sense of humor, amazing banter and some returning characters that I loved to see once more.
I have to say I have loved Lexi since I first read of her being an additional character is previous tale. She is lovely and fierce lady and you can't help but have respect for her as well as a soft spot. She is just such ingenious person and despite what she likes to think of herself she has a heart of gold and hates to see people suffering. Bron is a battle-hardened Haalux warrior who truly needs some softness in his life but given the person he is she would need to be more than just that. Enter Lexi, well in truth re-enter Lexi, who has also somehow taken on Graal, a Rheon, while trying to help him and now gets to keep him. Thing is she is unaware that she gets to keep him and he is intent on being her shadow til she accepts it, oh and also Bron, who is also not quite sure what is going on. There's a whole lot going I can tell you! Fantastic book. This has been added to my favourites and will definitely be read again soon.
4.5 stars. This author is just getting better. I loved all the characters for their distinct personalities but especially Lexi, the female lead. I understood and appreciated her reservations regarding relationships and her reluctance to become involved with the male leads, Graal and Bron.
All these characters were valuable secondary characters in previous stories and I enjoyed how the relationship grew and developed as well as the individual character growth.
The story is tri POV, well written and edited, and so much fun to read. I’m anticipating the next one - the male lead for that looks to be adorable!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lexi was abducted from earth 10 years ago now she is Harom Galaxy’s only female marauder she’s proud of it too, Bron is a Haalux warrior they are like the galaxy’s police and he’s not happy with Lexi because she stole his ships stealth drive but Lexi believes that he owes her because she saved his life a human pregnant female a general and his crew. Bron is so mad with Lexi but he can’t help the way his body responds when he see’s her and that just makes him angrier, then there’s Graal who is a slave he says that Lexi is his mate. There is so much more going on in this fantastic story I loved it and the characters and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
Please, please, please write more reverse harem books! I absolutely loved the main characters in this book too! Not ever author is as talented at creating a female lead who's strong , funny, and able to be vulnerable ~ at least vulnerable around her men. I found the character of Graal fascinating due to his indestructibility and the fact that he was man enough (or shall I say alien enough lol) to be able to use others assumptions about his species, in order to trick them. Love it! Please write more like this! Especially the parts of them having babies! All in all, I loved every part of this book.
I just have to say that I want a Rheon of my own! Graal is so sweet, kind, adorable, patient, hot, willing to do anything even lay down his life if needed. You have all met Bron before if you have read the previous books. So I won't introduce him. I know that Lexi is a lucky woman to get both of these hunky aliens as her mates if she would only accept it. But, she has a betrayal in her past that causes her not to trust anyone anymore and to feel as if she is unlovable. I love this universe and would love to maybe have a series devoted the the Rheon and learn more about them next after we get our fill of the Haalux.
loved it !!! love this series !!! loved Lexi, Bron and Graal !!! this is their story . Lexi is a bada$$ thief. she had to be just to survive...Capt. Bron hates/loves Lexi...he can't think straight...Graal will fulfill his destiny... trinity...he loves Lexi... Lexi says she has a lust parasite...misunderstandings , the unseen, evil doers... saving the galaxy ... trinity...can't wait for the next book !!! OMG !!!

This is my first read by this author and, obviously, my first foray into this series. Saying that, I was completely thrilled with the story, characters and pacing. I did have to pay attention to the different species of 'aliens', and the tech, too, of course, but it was an exciting read and well detailed so I didn't feel lost at any point. I loved the author's imagination in setting up such a complex world for me to dive into and really can't wait to check out both the previous books to the series and also her other works. Lots to look forward to ;D
What a great ride. Lexi, Bron and Graal are fantastic characters. Lexi has one more assignment to complete but things start going wrong when she steals Bron's stealth drive and the riding around with space junkers where she meet Graal. Lexi is looking for her freedom but Bron nor Graal will let her leave without them. Will she find that her live is fulfilled when she's with her two males? What an adventure. Loved the story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lexi, Graal, and Bron aren't the most likeliest of mates, but they keep the story interesting. Lexi has a good reason to not trust others. Bron had a hard time fitting in. A Graal was a bit too trusting by half. Together they grow and become whole.
The book has everything needed to keep readers on the edge of their seats. Action, adventure, and great sex. Sex is no issue between these three. It's just the right amount of kink.
I hope we revisit this trio in a later book for a quick check-in.
I absolutely love this series, and the Haalux. This is another exciting story about those dropdead gorgeous alien warriors, the Haalux. Lexi is treading ever more dangerous ground in her exploits while Bron refuses to admit he wants a mate. Fortunately for him the universe has other ideas as Graal also gets involved.

This was an easy read with a sweet romantic tale. The lead female Lexi has had a difficult life with a betrayal from her brother. Graal is so easy going and lethal. Bron is just fighting any other emotions other than revenge from an imprisonment. Graal takes Lexi and rocks her world, then he systematically moves her, through their bond, to love and including Bron. Graal shines as the star in this story. Read on!
I received a copy of this book for review. This is the first of Hattie Jacks' books and I'm a bit disappointed I missed the previous two, but this one - WOW!!! Bron, Lexi and Graal - what an amazing trio who just brought out the best in each other and the protection Bron and Graal felt toward Lexi was just beautiful. I want more! Highly recommend.
The third book in the Haalux Empire series a well written sci-fi story that kept me turning pages. I enjoyed reading Lexi, Haalux Captain Bron and Rheon Graal's story of suspense, drama, danger, villains, and romance. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Oh my this book was anything but boring. Getting to know Graal and furthering my acquaintance with Lexi and Bron keep me reading without a break.
The story line was well developed and the characters have unique personalities which helps engage the reader. I laughed, cheered and had to fan myself while reading.
