Sleeping next to vampires wasn’t on my five-year plan.
Then again, neither was going on the run. I was doing fine on my own until government agents started tailing me through Seattle. Then a vampire—sorry, civilized immortal—named Topher up and rescued me. Now I’m staying with the immortals running “daylight errands” while Drake is on his way. Topher said he’d keep me safe until then, but even with nowhere else to go, I’m not sure I can trust an immortal’s promise.
But right now I don’t have a choice because I think something might really be wrong with me. I can’t sleep, or eat. And I keep waking up in two places at once—like I can see my room in the vampires’ house through one eye, and somewhere I don’t recognize with the other.
I only know one thing. Drake cannot get here fast enough.
Elle lives in the Pacific Northwest where she is the author of thirteen paranormal romantasies about deeply damaged people finding love amidst the extraordinary. Executive Director of a non-profit, and mom of two, Elle spends her slivers of free time reading, running, or thrift shopping—coffee is usually involved.
Ah, DRIFT. So angsty, so atmospheric. The unrest continues from RECAST into DRIFT, and now Leah is part of it. This book is readers' first real introductions to my vampires—Born vs. Turned, daylight errands, their socio-political structure, etc. and it was important to me to get it right since the vampires ("Immortals") play a much larger role in my upcoming Bloodline Saga series. I love Leah's experiences getting to know Topher (such as they are) and her struggle to find her place in a world much bigger and more complicated than she'd ever been aware of before. I mean, what seventeen-year-old can say they've lived in a house full of vampires while being persuaded to become the spokesperson for all Shifters?
I wish this had been longer... I feel like not that much happened, and there was a lot of unexplained things. Hopefully they get cleared up in the next book; like why she was able to "hear" Cesilia? Is she going to keep having headaches and visions, or was it because she hadn't shifted back in so long? Questions...

Love this story so far I was surprised the way it just stopped at the end and your like what the heck I want more on Lee and Drake they are so good together and know how to make each other complete. So will be waiting patiently for the next book I think.
All right Elle Beauregard, YOU WIN! I read the three books in the series in 2 days. I am officially addicted. So pretty please tell me that book 4 will somehow magically come out soon.
A very interesting read albeit a little slow at times. The suspense keeps you going on an emotional roller coaster through and through with a twist at the end.
