Elderly Amish widow, Ettie, wonders whether trouble follows her. She is in the hospital trying to recover from pneumonia when a lady in the next bed dies a suspicious death.
Samantha Price is a USA Today bestselling author of Amish romance and cozy mysteries. Raised in the Brethren faith, she writes with a heartfelt understanding of the Amish way of life. When she’s not writing, Samantha enjoys quiet moments at home with her rescue cat and her fluffy white dog, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Snowy from the Ettie Smith Amish Mysteries.

I am reading this series on Kindle Unlimited. I reviewed the one before this in the series which I’d found disappointing, but this one was my favorite one in the series. It was a vast improvement over the 8th book. I had previously binge-read the entire “Ettie Smith” series prior to discovering this older series (and loved it), so it is possible I’m just more fond of Ettie and have waited for her to be the “star” of one of the books.
The plot of this book though was really interesting, and I liked it that Maureen got a little more attention in this series. She always seemed to be more of a secondary character in the earlier series books. I think she deserves to find true love, but I guess she’ll have to find it fast, as there is only one book left. I will go on to read it next.
I really appreciate that a lot of this author’s books are available on Kindle Unlimited, as it allows me to read more of them than I would be able to afford. I do have some of her books on a list of ones to purchase; she deserves to make some money off of me!
Plain Wrong (Amish Mystery) by Samantha Price is the ninth book in the Amish Secret Widows’ Society. Ettie is in the hospital recovering from pneumonia and desperately wanting to go home, until her roommate, Judith Morcombe, dies suddenly. Ettie knows she saw a nurse give her a lethal injection in the middle of the night. She decides to stay in the hospital to uncover the details of this mystery. This is a suspenseful story that I highly recommend.
It's so amazing how these two sisters of advanced ageing, can get so involved in suspicious happenings which lead to murder, they have the weekly meeting of Secret widows with younger women together they all work on whatever case seems to land in their laps and work with a English Detective to boot, I'm amazed at the author and she has the imagination of writing these books that brings Amish and English together
This book was well written. It was full of suspense throughout the whole book. The murder mystery had a surprising ending. It kept your attention till the very end.
