The only thing more inconvenient than being kept in a gilded cage... is being forced to marry a fed to escape it.

My name is Bianca Castello. I’m a mafia princess who’s being forced to marry a Fed.

Apparently, the sexy stranger is desperate enough to make a deal with my brother in exchange for a favor.

And favors are hard to come by in this world.

But Jack Connelly’s an outsider. He hasn’t heard the rumors. He doesn’t know the things I’ve done to protect my family or the reason why every single made man refuses to touch me.

If he did, he’d stop looking at me like I’m a fallen angel.

He’d realize the truth.

I’m nothing but the devil’s plaything.

And he's coming to collect.

Kelsie is a sucker for a love story with all the feels. When she's not chasing words for her next book, you will probably find her reading or, more likely, hanging out with her husband and playing with her three kiddos who love to drive her crazy.

She adores photography, baking, her yorkie, Bob, and her devon rex, Mara. And now that she's actively pursuing her writing dreams, she's set her sights on someday finding the self-discipline to not binge-watch an entire series on Netflix in one sitting.

I’ve read 8 books thus far by this author in 2020 and only since June! Yeah, she’s that good.

Just W0W. This series has been one of the best binge reading I have done in a really long time. I’m hoping this isn’t the end of this world because I am invested! On Sunday October 18th, I started with Wild Card and forced myself to wait until the following Sunday to begin Dark King and so on and so forth every Sunday since then. It took me almost a week to calm myself so I could properly think about what I wanted to tell you in a review.

These books aren’t standalones. I don’t care what it says in the blurbs. They should be read in the order they were written. I know you guys are gonna do what you do no matter what I say, but you’ve been warned. These books are just as much about the couples than they are about the world that Kelsie created and that’s why you can’t just go skipping around or start wherever you want. Again, you’ve been warned :)

I’ve decided to approach reviewing these books (Wild Child, Dark King, Little Bird, Bitter Queen & Black Jack) as one because I would be repeating myself anyway if I did them individually and nobody has time for all that :)

Each one of these stories is a high mark 5 star read. The drama has drama. The twists have twists. The relationships are convoluted yet kismet. The character growth is exponential. The chemistry of the characters was sexy and sensual and just delicious! The passion of the stories was explosive and gritty and combined with the people within, it was just mind-blowing at times. The plots were seamless and well thought out. I honestly do not have a single negative thing to bring up about any of these books. I am super excited to see what this author has in store for us in the future. She has proven she’s a multifaceted author and can take on any project and blow it out of the water. Well done!

4 star Review Black Jack (Advantage Play #5) by Kelsie Rae
I have only read the previous book in this series, so I didn’t have a lot of the back story of these characters. Black Jack had numerous twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat whilst reading.
This is Jack and Bianca’s story and at times my heart almost broke for her, what a hard life she has had. I don’t want to give too much away as this is a book you could easily spoil for someone so my review is going to be brief..
The characters were realistic, the story intense and the chemistry sizzles and I have to say Ms. Rae managed to surprise me.

Oh my goodness!! I am so in love with this mafia family!!! I had some real issues with Jack in the beginning and I wasn’t sure how I would react to his story. But I love these people and it’s crazy because I didn’t think I would get this attached to them!

Jack is a complete opposite of what he is from the beginning! I really thought him and Ace were going to be this crazy power couple who took on casinos! Man is that farthest from the truth ever! He is such a alpha male who gets knocked on his butt and needs to figure out his life. I never NEVER imagined this book taking so many twists and turns to finally end up where it did! I’m beyond crazed from reading but I’m also super excited!

Bianca is a complete contrast to what I saw in previous books. Learning more and more about this woman broke my heart!! I knew she might have it a little tough with a brother like hers but goodness I wasn’t prepared for that tough! My heart was with her the whole book and while I was blindsided by the end I still loved her character so much!

I’m scared to find out if this is the end end of this series because I’m obsessed now! I couldn’t read this book fast enough let alone this entire series so far! Taking on this release blitz freaked me out but after read from the beginning I devoured each book after the other just obsessed with finding out more! I had to read others in between but I couldn’t come back to them fast enough, that’s how excited and mesmerized by them I was from the beginning! Kelsie this series is freaking amazing and I loved it so much!!! Congrats!

Advantage Play Series draws you in from the first book and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout every book. You feel as though you are a part of this incredible Romano family. You feel thier pain, love and their compassion.
Jack has been framed and the only way this Fed is going to get off is if he marries Bianca who is a sassy, insecure mafia princess.
Jack tries his best to make his marriage work but Bianca gives him a run for his money.
When Bianca's past comes back to haunt her it cause chaos between her and Jack as well as the Feds.
A lost and tortured soul who can only find her guilty pleasure in the arms of a Fed.
A magnificent series!! Highly recommend!!

OMG.. I've read all of these books from the first one that came out. Each one pulls you in to the thoughts, images, feelings. But Jack's story.. omg FBI agent trying to clear him name, falls in love with a girl from the wrong side of the tracks and loses what he thought was everything until he realized she was his everything.
This story definitely didnt end the way I imagined it would, but it ended the way Jack deserved
I cant wait to read more in this series

It’s no secret I’m a fan of Kelsie’s!

I have loved this whole series. I think it is dark and delicious.

Jack and Biancas story was so amazing!

Each of them has been backed into a corner and neither wants to be there.

Somehow they manage to make things work though there is a LOT of apologies and groveling.

I knew that this story was going to be epic and the way I felt reading this book was nothing short of awesome. So. Many. Feelings. Sometimes multiple feelings on one page.

Whatever she writes I read and the books just keep get better and better.

Jack!!! I have been waiting for his story!! And let’s just say, Kelsie did not disappoint! Black Jack was the fifth book in her Advantage Play series! It was emotional, raw, and sexy!

Jack was in trouble and had nothing to loose. A fake relationship just might be his saving grace but when the lines get blurred, would it matter?

Bianca was born into the mafia and that was all she knew. When she was thrown into an arranged relationship, would she be able to get herself out or be pulled back under?

These two! They were complete opposites but yet so similar! The push and pull of their relationship made for an amazing slow burn that had an explosive ending!

Oh my!
I have been waiting for Jack’s story ever since I met him in Ace’s book (book 1). I just knew he was going to be a great love interest!
And let me tell you - he does not disappoint!!!
I wouldn’t mind him for myself! (You know, if I wasn’t married and I could actually have a book husband.)
Bianca - she’s a different story. I hated her in the very beginning. You make your own decisions about her though.

(I’m not saying anything about this one since I don’t want to spoil it for you.)

I recommend reading this series in order to fully get the whole story.
This is a great series!
I’m going to miss these characters.

This was the 5th book in the advantage play series and one of my favorites. To be honest you could read this one as a stand alone, I think you’d enjoy the series as a whole more but this book can stand on its own if you choose.

Going into this book I wasn’t sure why Jack need his own book but I was wrong to question Kelsie. Jack as a character was stronger and smarter than I realized. Bianca has been in this world forever and she knows what it takes to survivor so when her brother throws a curve ball in the form of Jack her way she does what she always does and handles the situation the best she can.

That’s all I’m going to say because I don’t want to give to much away but I loved this book and I highly recommend the whole series. You might even say it’s one of my guilty pleasures.

Jack is sure perfection!!!

Bianca has a sordid past and once Jack gets over this, he will do anything to let Bianca have a choice. He might get frustrated with her but he always lets her have a choice which is important to herself. These two together have an interesting dynamics which works. So glad Jack ended this series. Sheer perfection.

Well, she's done it again! Another amazing book by Kelsie Rae! I've had a soft spot for Jack since Wild Card! He's been kind of an enigma, but to see him get his own story and learn more about him was amazing! It was a great story, and totally did not end up where I thought it would! No spoilers, but, just wow! Honestly, I wasn't a fan of Bianca to start, but the more the story got going the more I understood her and really fell in love with both of them!

4.5 stars.
This is Jack's book. Dominic arranges for him to marry his sister Bianca in turn for his testimony.
Once Jack and Bianca meet things get interesting. She's beautiful, spoiled , dramatic, she has a terrible attitude.
But what happens once Jack gets a look at what lays under the mask?

Black Jack is the fifth book in the Advantage Play series by Kelsie Rae, and this book was truly incredible. The way in which Rae depicts the strong personalities of her characters, their flaws and their quirks is amazing. They are so vivid, believable and I love how their morals are questionable but their loyalties are always strong.

Black Jack focuses around shamed FBI agent Jack Connelly. A cop who is being framed for a crime he didn’t commit. As a lover of this series, I was familiar with Jack’s backstory and history, but this can be read as a stand-alone as it clearly explains his current predicament and touches upon his past.

When Jack’s hand is forced and he needs to enter into a deal with Dominic Castello, he is fearful, knowing that Castello is less than whiter than white, but desperate times call for desperate measures, and unfortunately Jack has hit rock bottom and is desperate to clear his name. But with the deal, he gets more than he bargains for in the form of Bianca Castello, Dominics very stubborn, and very attractive younger sister.

Bianca is ruthless, she does what she needs to in order to survive, and she has always had a fight or flight mode. She has provided for her family in ways that others would never dare, and unfortunately her past brings shame to her.

As a daughter born into the mafia world, she is used to being on the wrong side of the law, but when her brother arranged her to marry Jack an ex-fbi agent, she knows that it’s in order to attempt to save their family, and as per usual, she does anything in order to help herself and her brother survive. But will it be enough?

Bianca is a very strong and stubborn, sexy and sassy, and I loved her as a character. You initially want to dislike her but the more you delve into her history, the more you admire her and find her an inspirational strong heroine.

Jack is a prideful character who has always wanted to be seen as the ‘good guy’ and his hero complex is exactly what someone like Bianca deep down craves, which makes their relationship odd, but also equally just as compatible.

I loved everything about these two characters, and like all of Rae’s books, I was hooked and dying to know what would happen. The book was action-packed, addictive and I couldn’t get enough. Rae’s plots are always carefully plotted and the suspense almost kills you, but it always pays off to an incredibly beautiful ending.

The series as a whole is brilliant and one of my absolute favourites, and I would highly recommend to all those who love mafia books, or those who like books that make you question your own sense of morality. Sensitive topics are touched upon, so this book is not for young readers.

An incredible, page-turner filled with non-stop action and drama.

Kelsie Rae has written a 5-star book. This is the story about Bianca and Jack. Jack has been betrayed by his boss, Reed. Now he is on the run but has gotten help from the Romano crime family. Jack goes to see Dominic in jail to try and get him to testify against Reed. Dominic said he would do it but only if his sister was protected. Jack said he would put her in witness protection and Dominic said no, he knew how that worked. The only way for him to testify was if Jack married his sister Bianca. When Bianca meets Jack for the first time, he is in jail waiting for Reed to get arrested. Jack doesn't know what game Bianca is playing yet but he knows she is playing one. Jack and Bianca do not get along at all and Jack tries everything to get along with her. Jack keeps messing up with Bianca. Jack and Reed's boss Wallace Embry called Jack and asked to meet with him. When Jack got to him Wallace asked him some questions about Bianca and then showed Jack some pictures that made Jack mad. He went home and asked Bianca about them. He said some things to her that hurt her and she said that they were over and Jack left. Bianca know what she had agreed to do for Wallace would more than likely get her killed but she wanted Jack's name to be cleared. She no longer had her brother Dominic holding things over her head so she could now do what she wanted to do. After Jack talks to Kingston, he realizes that the things Bianca had to do were not by choice and he knows he doesn't want to be without her.
Can Jack get Bianca to forgive him for the hurtful things he said to her?
Will Bianca go back to Jack and open her heart up to him?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

This is book five in The Advantage Play Series and it is Jack and Bianca's story. Jack is a FBI agent and he has been framed for a crime he didn't commit by his FBI boss Reed who is in to illegal activities and the only way to clear his name is to get Dominic who is part of the mafia to testify against Reed but Dominic comes back with a counter offer that Jack must marry Dominic's sister Bianca to keep her safe but what will Jack do. Bianca has gone through so much tragedy in her life and she has been used and abused so much by her family and others that she has put up walls so high and never shows her true self. When Bianca is told by her brother Dominic that she will have to marry Jack or he will release all of her sordid secrets and she will have a price on her head and she will be killed so she has no choice but to follow through as she has no one to turn to and ask for help as her life as never been her own and she has always been manipulate by her brother. There are many twists and turns along with emotional situations and even though Jack and Bianca have strong chemistry between them will it be enough to give them a chance of being together or not. Omg I absolutely love this book and I couldn't put it down as I had to keep reading to see what would happen next and it was so addictive. Kelsie Rae is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book and series and you will definitely not be disappointed.

Kelsie's done it again another one you find hard to put down and have to keep going. Fbi agent Jack gets framed and gets thrown together not by choice with Bianca. Bianca has been brought up in the mafia world and an enemy to Kingston's family. Through no choice of their own, they are thrown together in a way they never imagined. Kelsie sure knows how to write her characters, in the beginning, you begin to hate Bianca but towards the end, you need the tissues when you find out what she has been through in her past and all she has given up. Jack is such a sweet guy but gives as good as he gets at times with Bianca. Every girl would love a guy like Jack. I was sad when the book came to an end. I hope we get some books in the series as I totally loved this series and want more (sorry Kelsie). It's one of those book series even though being a dark mafia topic I would love to see on the big screen or made into a tv series one day.
I received an arc for NN Book Blog. Although it is part of the Advantage Play series this one could be read as a stand-alone though it helps to have read the others in the series for some of the other character appearances in the book. If you love a dark hot mafia romance you will love this one.

Jack's chance at freedom was lost, the same as his marriage!
by sewsummore

I am a sucker for a romance story where the two lovers, against all odds, end up with a happy ever after. If you are like me, then this is a book you will enjoy. Jack was an undercover agent who had been framed by his boss, but fortunately for him, he knew someone prepared to help him out of an impossible situation. All he had to do was agree to marry the guy's sister. It seemed an easy way out to ensure the real culprit would pay, and marrying the beautiful Bianca was no hardship. However, Bianca had a past few men would be able to accept, forced to prostitute herself by her brother, and she was damaged goods. However, Jack had fallen for the woman before he knew of her past; they had forged a relationship that made them both happy. When Bianca's brother is killed before he can testify, Jack's chance at freedom was lost, the same as his marriage. This story has a happy ending, but you will need to discover what happened next when you read the book.

The Advantage Play series is one of my favorites by my favorite, Kelsie Rae. Her books are such page turners that you can’t put down. Kelsie has cost me hours of sleep, but it was so worth it!!
This is book 5 and is about our trusty FBI agent, Jack. Jack has been working to bring down the mob ever since we met him in book 1. He comes to realize that not all mobsters are created equally. In order to save his ass, he makes a deal and agrees to marry the sister of one of the bad guys. Bianca is the dutiful sister who agrees to marry a stranger to help her POS brother. Bianca has been used by her family her entire life. She has always put everything above her own happiness. She has been told she is a whore and no one would be able to love her because of the things she has been forced to do in her past. Can Bianca get her happily ever after? Jack is determined to give Bianca the life she’s been dreaming of but thinks she doesn’t deserve.
I hope this isn’t the end of the Advantage Play series. I love all these characters and the world they live in. Well done, Kelsie.

Black Jack will have you guessing whose got the upper hand in this romantic suspense. Just when you think all the cards are on the table Kelsie Rae throws her readers a curve ball and you won’t stop reading until the end! Jack is a sexy FBI agent that has a sweet and nurturing side that will have you swooning for days. Bianca is hard core and guarded because of the devastating hand she’s been dealt in life since childhood. At first I thought I might strangle her, but her vulnerability and fear had me praying she’d find a way out. This couple is intriguing and mysterious and they have this intensity that will make you scream one minute and fall in love the next. You need to read this book for the roses, the velvet box, the teddy bear and the letters alone. Black Jack reminds us why the hardest journey might just lead us to the perfect destination in this story full of desperation, fear, hope, forgiveness and breathtaking love. Can Jack be my guilty pleasure for life?

Jack, an FBI agent, has been framed. In order to clear his name, he needs Dominic to testify. In order to get Dominic to testify, he has to marry Dominic's sister, Bianca. She is a Mafia princess, through and through. This is a terrific book, a great ending to this series. Action, suspense, romance, crime, a plot with twists and turns - all adding up to a fast-paced story that's hard to put down. Jack is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get kind of guy, straight up, responsible, an all around good guy. When he is forced to make a deal with the devil, he goes in with his eyes wide open, vowing to make the best of his situation. At a glance, Bianca is spoiled and demanding, and not very likable. But peel back the layers, to find an entirely different woman, one who has done what she had to do to survive in her cruel world. They seem to be complete opposites, when in reality, they balance each other out. I'm glad to have read the series, and can hardly wait to see what surprises the author has in store for us next.

Entertaining from start to finish.
Just might be my favorite of this series. Even as I read through Bianca and Jack's story, the reoccurring characters made me want to go back and reread the previous books!
Bianca was all kinds of damaged by the time she was forced to marry Jack. Her dysfunctional relationship with her brother along with her utterly sordid past was pretty much a deal breaker for any kind of HEA. So kudos to the author for presenting a heroine with an irredeemable past and history into a MC worth rooting for. I loved the way Jack was the only one to move her emotionally and physically despite the multiple men she had in the past.
Jack also had a lot to take in, and I'm glad he was able to do what most would not be able to as he chose Bianca again and again.
Very steamy with sweet romance thrown in this mafia based storyline.

Black Jack is just as engaging as the previous books in the series. This story may be about Jack and Bianca but the underlying story thread that has been weaving it way through the series is still filled with danger, intrigue and plenty of twists and turns as alliances are made and enemies are questioned.

I thoroughly enjoyed Jack and Bianca’s story. They started out as enemies and were thrown into a relationship unwillingly and it definitely had it challenges but Jack pulled down Bianca’s walls and they both finally found a place where they truly belonged.

Neither character turned out the way I expected them to. Jack was definitely a surprise. He was so different than when we first met him and Bianca first came across as a bitch but there was so much more to her and it was a nice to see her finally show who she really was underneath the mask.

I totally love this series. Through each book we learn more and more about the family and each of the players that make it just that, a family. While there are blood ties with some, this is a family that definitely chooses itself. Folks from all different walks of life that come together for one reason or another. Jack and Bianca are no exception. Jack, who we met early in the series, is about as far from this world as anyone can get, yet through the stories, he's become somewhat of a staple. Bianca though, is all too familiar with the world, although on a different level. Typical of any good mafia story, deals are made, paths are changed, offers are extended and secrets are exposed. The question is, how is everyone going to fare once the dust settles? If this is the end, I'm really going to miss this series.

This book is gripping, captivating and draws the reader in with lots of intrigue action and suspense and succeeds in keeping the reader on the edge of their seat, captivated and with baited breath. Jack an FBI agent is forced to marry Bianca, in order to get her brother Dominic to testify against Reed, Jacks boss who betrayed him, a truly and powerful evil man. When Jack discovers what Bianca has done in the past to survive he holds her prior profession against her. Bianca is heartbroken but still loves Jack, he is her guilty pleasure and sets out to try and save his reputation and career tarnished by her. My heart broke for Bianca, its clear she loved Jack, regretted what she had to do to save her family and survive, and I found my self eagerly turning the pages hoping Jack comes to his senses. Amazing Read highly recommended.

I think I feel a lot better that I read Bitter Queen before this book because it helps me knowing all of the characters' backgrounds so I don't feel quite lost like when I was reading Bitter Queen though. And I like Jack and Bianca because they are compatible. Bianca has been hurt and used by her family for a long time and she deserves to be loved by someone who can treasure her. Jack and Bianca is like opposites attraction. They bicker but that makes them closing to each other. And Jack is so sweet to her. Usually a mafia romance is not my main choice to read but I have to say that I enjoy reading Black Jack a lot.

For this being the last book of this series it was great! I loved it. I've come to love these characters alot! I renewed my love for mafia books. It was so much fun seeing past characters and their loves. But i also loved seeing Jack and seeing how his life unfolded. And i couldnt have pick a better future for him. Bianca was great. I loved how Jack showed her that she didnt need to hide her true self from him. He was exactly who she needed. And she for him. But im just saying im going to need a novella or newsletter story to see them in the future. Im not ready to say full goodbyes yet.

For starters...great story! Bianca and Jack have so much built up chemistry between them that it’s just keeps bubbling to the surface as you go through the book. Bianca’s family sure is a piece of work. No one should be degraded like she’s been and I hate them for that. I liked to think of Jack as a good turning point for her life. Even though it was a forced marriage and Jack is only doing it to get himself out of trouble, it allows Bianca a chance to get slightly out from under her families thumb and gives her the chance to finally be happy

Kelsie completely changed my mind about Jack!!! We met him in early books in the series and he seemed sneaky. He's thrown for a loop in this book when he makes a devious deal with a criminal who can literally save his life and reputation. Bianca has tried to escape the mafia life but never can with her family's legacy or her own past. When the two are bound together, their world's right themselves and crash together. Until the perfect bubble burst. Jack is compassionate, loving, and not the a-hole we met before especially when it comes to Bianca, even though he does screw up quite a bit.
