Wanted: someone to hand feed me Doritos so my hands don’t get orange. No weirdos.
Belle Pena was an editor. Not a writer.
When her brothers challenge her to create a dating profile, she makes up the most random biography she can think of. She never, not ever, thought she’d find anybody to respond. But she was sorely mistaken.
Sadly, she finds that she has way more interest than she ever could’ve imagined.
But only one profile catches her eye.
Bruno never meant to take the dating app seriously. Being the last single man in his band of misfits, he’s happy being the odd man out. Women spelled trouble, and he had enough trouble in his life to last him through the next decade.
Only his newfound family doesn’t feel the same. One innocent ‘sure’ has the women of the Souls Chapel Revenants MC creating him a dating profile that is too spot on to be comfortable. And just when he decides to delete the app entirely, a particular face catches his eye.
One innocent question of ‘Belle is that you? Do you remember punching me in the throat in high school?’ has him stepping into trouble neck deep, and he doesn’t even realize it until it’s too late.
Lani Lynn Vale is married to the love of her life that she met in high school. She fell in love with him because he was wearing baseball pants. Ten years later they have three perfectly crazy children and a cat named Demon who likes to wake her up at ungodly times in the night. They live in the greatest state in the world, Texas. She writes contemporary and romantic suspense, and has a love for all things romance. You can find Lani in front of her computer writing away in her fictional characters world...that is until her husband and kids demand sustenance in the form of food and drink.
We're at the end of the road and it's coming like LLV saved the best for last. How could anyone resist the charms and wiles of Bruno? Especially when he wasn't trying to be charming lol. He was kinda churlish and brooding and monosyllabic... and utterly delicious!
I always feel bad objectifying these characters, but then I remind myself that they're fictional and I ain't really hurting anyone and seriously... I can't help but be honest about how I feel... and all is right in my world again.
Bruno had taken some lumps in his life. He was destined for some greatness. And how awesome was it that his happiness was with Belle Pena?!
I feel like the author delivered two great characters, both deserving of blessings, and so much more. I loved how the Pena family popped in (Hi guys!!) and I loved how Bruno's chosen family was on point each and every time he needed them. And that epilogue... I'm sad to see them all go, but the author gave one amazing send off.
What a bittersweet read. It’s the last book in this series but once again LLV brings on her signature flair with sexy broody Bruno and a strong heroine that calls it like it is. Belle is everything I love in my leading ladies. I loved this pairing!
The plot does follow the overall suspenseful theme of the series and keeps us entertained and on our toes. I would’ve liked more detail on that aspect of the conflict but I recognize that the main focus is the relationship. I loved catching up with previous main characters and they were used effectively to move the story along.
I can’t wait to see what Miss Vale comes up with next. I find myself in awe of these worlds she brings to life and thinking about her stories way after I’m done reading or listening to them.
Complementary copy received and voluntarily reviewed.
Bruno and Bella's story and the last of this series. I liked this one but there were some questions that I needed answers to...for instance..why did Bruno have a pacemaker at such a young age?the nurse in me wanted to know...Then towards the end...the ladies banded together to murder the villainous governor of Texas..very far fetched and some how they all got away with it...vigilante justice I suppose.
Bruno and Belle are the SH*T!! I love these two together so much. I knew a little about her from previous books but not the entirety of who she really is and all her idiosyncrasies and OCD and let me tell you, it’s a lot…but I can’t help but love her because she makes absolutely no apologies for who she is and how she lives her life.
And then there’s Bruno who has lived his life in a way that doesn’t draw attraction to him or his actions which works well given what he and the other members of the Souls Chapel are doing. And when he and Belle first meet it’s a crazy time. There’s clearly an immediate attraction but the fact that it’s in reality the worst time to try to explore their attraction doesn’t seem to mean they’re going to stay away from each other… mostly not of their own doing!
There’s some crazy twistiness to this story and I went along for the ride and there were moments that I was laughing out loud at some of their conversations and others when I was hoping against hope that those that deserved to get what was coming to them actually would endure the consequences of their actions.
LLV has done a fabulous job of bringing everything full circle with each of these men and their women. It was very satisfying when I turned the last page on this book and knew that everyone had found their other half and these men and women did what they set out to do even if it was cray-cray how they got it done!!
I wasn't sure about Belle and Bruno at the start, but these two were great together. Bruno really got Belle, didn't think she was weird at all. I liked how so much of what Belle hated, Bruno did and it wasn't so bad. The "case" that Bruno was working on the made them spend so much time together was crazy! I didn't think any of them took things too far, people totally got what they deserved. I liked the epilogue, loved seeing this couple so happy in the future.
The final book of the Souls Chapel Revenants MC is finally here and it’s awesome❣️
Belle is tired of her twin brothers picking on her about being single and finally signs up to a dating website - but keeps finding duds. Bruno is the last man standing of his MC brothers and the wives set up a dating profile for him too😉 Rather than accepting an invite from Bruno, Belle rejects his invite but meets him accidentally one night out at the bar waiting for her date to show.
An absolute awesome final story with some cameos from Belle’s family and some funny moments all around😍 I highly recommend this series and if you haven’t already started reading, you should😁 I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️
Shakedown is the final book in the Soul's Chapel series and I am sad! I love these guys so much! We finally get Bruno's story and Belle's HEA as well. I loved learning about Belle as her siblings got their stories and I think Bruno is a perfect match for her.
Overall, Shakedown continues the child kidnapping story arc. But, the danger is amped up for sure. Assassins everywhere, determined to get to Bruno. I really loved how unique both characters are, and how they were happy being independent and would have been happy, but realize that they each bring things to the relationship that compliment the other person. Belle certainly wouldn't be in a relationship with just anybody-she would chose to be alone. But Bruno complements her and understands her and vice versa. It is a really balanced relationship.
I am sad to see the series end because I love the Soul's Chapel MC and their mission, but when one series ends, another begins so I have that to look forward to as well! Shakedown was just pure enjoyment!

Come on! I'm pretty sure everyone who has followed this series from the start has wanted, demanded, waited and anticipated Bruno's story since then. This had to be one of my most highly anticipated books too. Lani definitely saved the best for last because his story was AMAZING!
Belle and Bruno were just perfect! Their story was perfect. It was so funny I couldn't put it down. I was having so much fun reading their story. These two couldn't be any more different. Bruno is brooding and gruff, but he can be sweet and protective too. Belle can be blunt, honest to a fault and not afraid to speak her mind. Though their chemistry and connection are undeniable. It only grows deeper and stronger the more they get to know each other. And I loved that the Penas made appearances. I can't wait for LLV's new series next.
Hot D@mn!!! I should have guessed Ms. Vale would bring up the big guns for the final Souls Chapel Revenants! Two of characters we have been begging for for a very long time, and we finally got all our wishes in Shakedown. Not only did it end with a BANG, but it was a monumental one, with the most perfectly matched couple!
Completely relatable characters, kickass suspense and action scenes, unforgettable love story and plenty of sexy moments in between, Belle and Bruno's tale kept us on the edge of our seats for its duration, and left us with a smile on our faces and joy in our hearts. These two kindred souls are the perfect wrap up for this fantastic series! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I was gunning for Bruno and Belle's book. I just knew it would be a intriguing story.
These are two very distinctive characters. Having read every book from this author I can say with no doubt that this pair will stand out because they demand your attention.
Belle Pena is a very memorable character with her quirky personality. She's a little ocd and very specific in whom and what she comes into contact with. Now being very similar myself it's hard to not relate to certain characteristics from Belle. Believe me Lani wrote them perfectly. I found Belle's blunt honestly refreshing. I loved that for her to be comfortable she has to have all the information and isn't afraid to ask questions most would'nt even dare. I adored her curiosity. I especially loved reading her learn. As a character she's unique, sharp and super intelligent and she's grows through the story in the sweetest ways.
Bruno is a harsh character. He himself is ocd with his very own quirks. He likes his privacy, doesn't have much need for baseless conversation and only speaks when he actually has something he wants to say. He can come across brash and blunt and at times just downright rude but behind that is a sweetness and uncertainty of the unknown which I found endearing. Especially because its only shown to Belle. He doesn't try to be anyone he's not and he isn't afraid to face up for what he believes in regardless of the consequences. Its a admirable quality. I genuinely love him and adored getting that softer side as their story progressed. It was sweet to read and more so because he's never really had that ever. It was something just for him. For them.
As a couple I found them incredibly endearing. Like they were both on unknown waters with no boat to float. They navigated through eachothers quirks seamlessly as if they were always a them and it felt very natural despite it being the exact opposite. I loved how they started and what flourished from it. I enjoyed every boundary that was broke and the trust that came with that because with two characters like them it wasn't an easy thing. It was slow burning but it felt right.
Of course they had hot chemistry and a solid connection that seemed to only get stronger the more they related to one another. But they also had this hilariously dry banter that had me laughing so freaking hard. I think it was definitely because they're both so blunt it just made it funnier. As a whole if there was ever any two characters made for one another... its Belle and Bruno.
Honestly I'm so fucking sad that this series is finished. I've been a fan of Lani for many years and with each series comes another layer to her writing and this series is no different. I adore the darker storylines, the more grey area characters and the situations that have you questioning your moral compass. It's been a crazy journey and I'm going to miss the hell out these characters but they will for sure be a staple in my reread library and It of course won't be the last time we are graced with these glorious faces. Lani loves to pop in new and old faces through every book.
Now give me Alway's Someone's Monster. I am ready for the drama!!!!!!.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is Bruno and Belle's book and the final, I am so so sad to say, in the Souls Chapel Revenants MC Series. I have loved this series and I fell like as amazing as this book was that I will still mourn not getting more stories from all these people I have fallen in love with. Belle is an editor and she loved to read. She is also great because she says what she wants to no matter to who or what it is about. But when her brothers egg her on and tell her she will never go on a date she takes the plunge and signs up for a dating service just to prove them wrong. It's not long before she sees Bruno's profile and rejects it. And that is the beginning of the rollercoaster ride that this book is going to take you on. I loved it so much and I'm not going to spoil anything about it for any of you. Just grab it and enjoy this amazing journey just as much as I did.
I'm so glad to finally get Bruno's book and I liked Bella from the beginning. I love anyone who is willing to speak their minds no matter what.
These two clicked from the moment the met and it didn't fell forced at all.
The MC part of this series always felt a little shaky to me, but since it's mainly just a front for their other activities I've been able to forgive that, but I did feel that there were some inconsistencies with Bella not liking touch and how that needs to be handled. When the time came for the sexy time touching it didn't exactly pan out how she said it would have to for her to be comfortable or at least how I thought it would have to after her earlier explanation.
I loved Bella's relationship with her family and kinda wish we had gotten more of that.
This last book in the series, left me very satisfied and the epilogue left me with a bid smile. I also just want to say that I love the snippet of vows from the wedding ceremony. That had me cracking up.
Shakedown is the eighth and final book of the Souls Chapel Revenants MC series dealing with child trafficking. This is Bruno and Belle's story (Belle is Nico and Georgia Pena’s daughter from Double Tap).
Bruno was Six’s childhood friend, her father threatened him away from her) and they were absent from each other’s lives until Lynn was introduced.
Belle’s twin brothers, had taken it upon themselves to make her life a living hell each time that she visited with comments about her dating prowess. By most accounts, she’s a genius, the only reason she had an IQ of 143 was because she’d become bored with the questions…and instead of answering the last few questions, she’d… guessed. She demonstrates symptoms consistent with mild autism underlying touch/sensory sensitivity.
Challenged by her twin brothers Booth (Joke’s on You) and Bourne (Join the Club), she’s tasked with creating a dating profile, conjuring the most random details imaginable. “Wanted: someone to hand feed me Doritos so my hands don’t get orange. No weirdos. My ideal match: No animals, no kids, no annoying voices, doesn’t like beaches, can deal with me not talking, and doesn’t mind when I talk down to you or that I’m smarter than you. Also, it’d be ideal if you don’t like to cuddle because my body temperature runs hot, and I don’t generally like people touching me skin to skin. Is blunt and doesn’t try to use sarcasm. Won’t try to get me to go out to places where there is a large group setting. Again, no weirdos.
At the insistence of Six and the the women of the Souls Chapel Revenants MC they create a dating profile for Bruno on Farmers Only website.
His biography “Hobby pig farmer by day, Souls Chapel Revenant MC by night. Thirty-two-year-old man looking for a woman that isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. Anybody that can’t manage that need not reply”. “Oh, here’s one for you.” “This chick sounds like she’s perfect for you.” Six clicked on the photo, but she didn’t need to. I’d seen the photo. The woman was gorgeous. Though I couldn’t see her height, I could make out other things. She was curled up in a chair that looked like a cocoon of sorts. One with really tall sides, big, poofy cushions, and it was all hanging from a contraption from the ceiling. She had her knees crisscrossed in front of her, and she was wearing a baggy white t-shirt, black horn-rimmed glasses, and had a book partially in front of her face. That book happened to be one of my favorites. Captain’s Fury by Jim Butcher. In all honesty, that was the very first thing to catch my eye. “She’s perfect,” Crockett declared. “Message her. But don’t make it weird. Make it… sweet.” “Bruno’s not sweet, don’t make him come off as sweet. The chick will definitely know that it wasn’t him that wrote it.” “Messaged her. Let’s see what she says.” He received a resounding response of “Hell no”.
Bruno, is an ex-con, he shot and killed someone. The guy had raped three women. He’d beaten his own mother and all but maimed an innocent two-year-old with his careless actions. But that wasn’t his reasoning for killing him. It was a case of kill or be killed. He’d chosen himself. Spending the next eighteen months behind bars until the parole board learnt of the other man’s heinous crimes. Then they’d hailed Bruno a hero.
Bruno was her ideal match, accepting her unconditionally, balancing each other in their idiosyncrasies.

As a fan of Ms. Vale’s books, I’ve found something special with each one. From unique and appealing characters to moments of excitement that kept me on the edge of my seat. With this final installment in the Souls Chapel Revenants MC series Ms. Vale has once again crafted characters that I thoroughly enjoyed and brought everything to a thrilling and richly-deserved conclusion.
This is a story of second chances, a romance of insta-love between two people who think themselves unworthy of love. Bruno is the last single man standing amongst his Brothers, but it’s not long before unexpected attraction leads him towards his own HEA. Bruno’s hard to like early on as he's a man of few words. He speaks when he actually has something to say and never wastes time or words. He's a big, brute of a man who never pretends to be something he's not, but there's still hidden layers to him that only Belle brings out in him. His beliefs are strong and he would die doing what he knows to be right but around Belle a softer side to him emerges, a sense of uncertainty that's endearing. He has a few quirks of his own, a bit of OCD in how he functions, that further endeared him to me. I grew to love Bruno and thoroughly enjoyed watching his gruff barricade come down as he grew closer to Belle.
Belle Pena was a delightfully realistic heroine, one though who's far from perfect...but one who's perfect for Bruno. She's a woman of many quirks, riddled with OCD tendencies that have her cautious of who and how she comes into contact with people. She too is blunt in her words, abrasive to some, but I liked her straightforward nature that had you always knowing where she stood. She's an inquisitive woman, one always looking beyond the surface, which helped her in her connection to Bruno and seeing them grow together warmed my heart.
Not only did I enjoy seeing these two grow emotionally, I also enjoyed seeing their sweet and sexy romance grow steamier with each turn of the page. The banter between them was crackling too and had me laughing through all its bodacious honesty. Along with this endearing and unforgettable main couple there were glimpses of past couples, interactions with other Brothers from the MC, who together rounded out the sense of family that's been built throughout this series. There was a nice splash of suspense too as the trafficking ring that was played out throughout the series was brought to an end. This was a satisfying series as a whole that I was sad to see end, but I'm very ready for what Ms. Vale has planned next!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ohhh I didn't expect such a lighthearted and fun yet cute romance but that's exactly what I got =D
I loved seeing Belle and Bruno meet (the punch in high school then the dating site then the bar xD) and fall in love (this wedding <3)! Belle was such an original character (with autistic disorders and unequaled intelligence !) and endearing (and I loved seeing her family again x)) but I also really liked Bruno (who perhaps seems very cold from the outside but is actually a big teddybear =D)
I would have liked a little more detail for the end of this plot (which was quite original for the way it was "settled") but that's my only complaint =)
In short, the last book of a series that I read with pleasure =) It's not my favorite because of the somewhat weak plot but the characters are very endearing !
This story was about the two people that I really wanted to read about and I think they were perfect for each other 😊 Bruno and Belle loved them 😊
Belle Pena was an editor so obviously she loved to read. She was also one of those people who said whatever they wanted (loved that). So when her brothers told her she wouldn’t go on a date she signed up for a dating service just to prove them wrong. And that’s where she saw Bruno’s profile. And immediately rejected him. What happened after that was just a roller coaster of bad/weird/and so much fun things. Before she knew Bruno ended up in the hospital and she told them she was his fiancé and then he they were trying to escape an assassin while his pigs got rid of some evil men…
Can’t keep up, you have to read this book lol
I loved Belle she was exactly what Bruno needed in his life. The gruff and grumpy hulk of a man who didn’t speak a lot was just so different when he was with Belle. And Belle she definitely needed Bruno, someone who would accept her with all her quirks and weirdness and just love her. Loved the romance, loved the suspense but really wanted to see more of the takedown and rescuing of the kids traffic ring. Loved that I got to see my favorite Pena family and all the siblings. Just sad that this series is over, but looking forward to the next awesome series by this author 😊❤❤
It was filled with man-eating pigs, killer ladies (literally), & the best kind of diarrhea of the mouth. The exchanges between the cast of characters were oh-so memorable & made the reader want to stay in this Souls Chapel world for forever.
Belle & Bruno were an unexpected, one-of-a-kind couple who I just couldn’t get enough of!
Belle… This woman was a breath of fresh air. Her bluntness, her “Belle Stats”, her relationship with her dad, her virginity phone call with her mom, her “hot breath” innuendo… These are just some of the reasons why I fell in love with her. She was funny, beautiful, & truly a genuine person.
Bruno… He was such a strong, sexy man. His “mine” talk, his stealth, his desire to save all of the children, the fact that he was a baby hog who literally owned hogs… He was total #swooncity without even trying.
The only things that were missing… MORE conversations between Belle & the Souls Chapel crew! Those kinds of scenes are PRICELESS, so I can’t help but turn into one greedy b*tch who wants more when I read them!! :)
So sad to see this series come to an end but pumped to see which new one is up next!
Side Note: That “Belle on double standards” chapter title at the 8% mark… *insert laughing till you cry emoji here*
I cannot believe Shakedown was the last book in the Souls Chapel Revenants MC series . . . but what an ending it was!!!
Bruno and Belle were absolutely perfect for one another. Belle never expected to have a happy ever after of her own. She’s literally a genius who always speaks her mind and doesn’t like touch. But, from their first interactions, Bruno just gets her. And, Bruno never thought he would be in a relationship either. He learned early on not to show emotions or depend on anyone. But, for the first time in his life, he knows Belle would leave everyone else in her world behind to support him if that is what it took.
Shakedown was definitely a thrilling ending to the series as we finally get to see just who has been in charge of the human trafficking ring the MC has been chasing after since book one. There are some incredibly unexpected moments in this book that had my jaw dropping a few times . . . like the final takedown of the big bad guy! I also loved seeing Nico, Georgia and the rest of the Pena clan as they rallied around Belle, Bruno and the rest of the gang.
Lani, this series was phenomenal. I loved the slightly darker side to the stories and these characters and truly enjoyed every book and couple. That being said, Bruno and Belle’s story in Shakedown was exceptional and my favorite in the series. 5 stars!
Bruno and Belle? Made for each other for sure, why would I say that? Well it's not everyday you meet someone rare that's almost exactly like you to a T. The thing about them is, they get each other very well, they could just stare at each other and knows what's wrong, their quirk are very cute. Them being on the run and the bad guys after them makes it more romantic in a sense, they've gotten to know one another and knew they were it, would do absolutely anything for each other. As I'm writing this review, I got a little sad because this series is over. I've enjoyed reading about these characters, they're funny, awkward, very grumpy and loveable, also over the top loyal. I don't know what else author Lani Lynn Vale have in store for us but I'll be anxiously waiting for the next awesomeness.
YAY Bruno's story finally I was so excited when Shakedown hit my reader like I am with all of Lani Lynn Vale books and this was amazing everything I hoped for and more . This can be read as a standalone but I recommend that you read every book in the Souls Chapel Revenants series along with every story Lani Lynn Vale has written you won't regret it . I really liked Bruno through out this series he just had something about him that had me wanting to know his story . Belle was such a interesting character I loved her little quirks and how she just told people how it is she is the daughter of the couple in Double Tap and the sister to Joke's on You and Join the Club hero's they also make a couple of appearances in Shakedown .This book had everything you are looking for in a must read it has romance , humor , action , some twists you don't see coming and just all around good book you don't mind staying up late to finish . It's sad to see this series end but I'm excited to see them in future books they are such awesome characters . I can't wait to read what's to come for this author her stories are always amazing and always re reads for me . stars 5 hero 5 heroine 5 secondary characters 5
Sad to see this series end but have complete faith in what LLV will have for us next. Loved Bruno with Belle. Loved all the secondary characters too and seeing the Pena family with all their badassness!
This was a fun read, closing out the sex trafficking storyline. The hero and heroine were a perfect fit with Bruno completely getting all of Belles nuances to the point it was funny. Can’t wait to get into the next series and tap into the madness that is contained in LLV’s obviously complex mind!🙃
This book is something else!!! I was expecting Bruno's story but could not believe who would be his match. Belle Peña is a great female character and she has so much with all LLV's world, it was live seeing old friends.
Bruno and Belle have so much in common but they are too stuborn to see it. The story is well written and super sexy as always!
The last quarter of this year was a big ball of ahhhhhh. Which made reading hard as my brain just couldn't focus and writing reviews was impossible. However with that said I did read a few books and if I don't add them here I'll end up adding them to my TBR a dozen or two times because of my goldfish memory.
Every book I have read I always wanted to know more about Bruno and since I read about Belle I wanted to know more about her too! The fact they found their happy together is awesome. Loved this book it was a really brill read. It had me laughing and crying. Belle is an amazing character and Bruno is too! Brilliant end to the series! Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Thanks for another awesome book llv. Sad the last in the series but hoping to see more about them all in the future. As with all of Lani Lynn Vale books, It was beautifully written and heart felt. Your able to connect with the characters. I absolutely loved reconnecting with the Pena's and loved that they were all in this book! Would love to hear Angel and Daniellas story as well as the rest of the Penas that haven't had story yet. Thanks again Lani! Xxx if you haven't read the rest of her book seriously need to check them out!
I just loved this one. It was absolutely amazing. Bella was my all time favorite female character that I've ever read. I just a adored her. This was a really good wrap up on the series and I can't wait to see what Lani has in store for me next!
