Tara Taylor Quinn began her love affair with Harlequin when she was fourteen years old and picked up a free promotional copy of a Harlequin Romance in a hometown grocery store. The relationship was solidified the year she was suspended from her high school typing class for hiding a Harlequin Romance behind the keys of her electric typewriter. Unaware that her instructor loomed close by, Ms. Quinn read blissfully on with one finger resting on the automatic repeating period key. She finished the book in the principal’s office. Forced to leave her romances in her locker after that, Ms. Quinn’s typing skills improved - a fact for which she is eternally grateful.

With over 80 original novels, published in more than twenty languages, Tara Taylor Quinn is a USA Today bestselling author with more than seven million copies sold. She is a winner of the 2008 National Reader's Choice Award, four time finalist for the RWA Rita Award, a finalist for the Reviewer’s Choice Award, the Bookseller’s Best Award, the Holt Medallion and appears regularly on the Waldenbooks bestsellers list. Ms. Quinn writes for Harlequin and MIRA Books. Reviewer, Cindy Penn, wordweaving.com says, “Amazing character development is the hallmark of author Tara Taylor Quinn’s work. Indeed, Taylor’s profound observations of human nature and intimate understanding of values and priorities lends extraordinary psychological depth to all her work.”

Tara Taylor Quinn was born and raised in Ohio. Though she wrote her first story at the age of seven, her professional writing career began ten years later when she was hired as a stringer with the Dayton Daily News in Dayton, Ohio. She attended Wright State University and graduated from Harding College in Arkansas with a degree in English and Journalism. She published several magazine articles before turning to writing as a full-time occupation.

Ms. Quinn is a Past President of the Romance Writers of America and served for eight years on the Board of Directors of that association. She has a wide range of experience as a public speaker and workshop presenter for writers groups around the country.

When she’s not home with her owners, Jerry Lee and Taylor Marie, or fulfilling speaking engagements, Tara loves to travel with her husband, stopping wherever the spirit takes them. They’ve been spotted in casinos and quaint little small town antique shops all across the country..

Another in The Parent Portal series, in which Dr. Elaina Alexander finds herself pregnant before receiving her late husband's sperm, and in which Dr. Greg Adams, aware for years that he is infertile, learns that he's going to be a father. How could this have happened? Well, we know the how, but Elaina and Greg are not in a relationship. They haven't been, but now it seems they are forced to at least agree about what to do. After all, they are going to be parents to this child.

Elaina decides that her baby deserves a fulltime father, so she invites Greg to move into a guest suite in her house. They may not be together, but at least they will co-parent. Right? Oh, and adopt a dog. After all, every child deserves a doggy playmate.

All this hearts and flowers, however, is darkly tinged with past relationship mistakes that these two flawed characters have experienced and concluded they will not repeat, particularly not with a child in the mix.

The question becomes, can they look past those dark clouds of past mistakes and move forward into the light of a new relationship with each other?

An emotional story of love when they least expect it! With book five in her Parent Portal series Tara Taylor Quinn brings Elaina and Greg to life as dreams are fulfilled, miracles occur and love conquers all.

Elaina is a complex character. At first she seems straightforward, but as her past unravels we learn what a soap opera of a life she's been living over the years. She's career driven, but takes time to appreciate life and isn't afraid of going after her dreams.

Greg is a sweetheart. His infertility derailed his marriage previously, so hearing that a miracle has given him a second chance is so heartwarming.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an unexpected baby story with a lot of heart, comfort and joy.

dnf@24%. I'm having really bad luck with my book choices. This is the 5th book in a row that I have 1*'d. This had all the ingredients for an awesome read but unfortunately it fell flat. It felt cold, more about the telling than the feeling. Both characters, but esp the h, seemed almost robotic. That might be part of her character but it seeped into every aspect of this book. I couldn't go on.

I really wanted to like this book because I liked the rest of the series. But this was a different book. I can not get past this book not having a black moment. The ending feels completely out of place, rushed and odd.

Baby daddy

Elaina wanted her dead husband's baby for all the wrong reasons. Greg came along feeling a little like damaged goods but they found each other and what they both wanted.
