Besties, let me put you onto this book.
This is honestly one of my favourite reads of 2021. It was a 5 ⭐️ within the first 100 pages and no one could convince me otherwise. I was concerned at first that with the author being quite a young writer that the writing was going to be immature or disjointed and I really wasn’t expecting much but I was so wrong. It’s dark, it’s juicy, it’s romantic and yet it’s such an easy read. I don’t think there’s anyone that won’t love this.

The writing completely blew me away as did the character development; for a young and fairly new author the writing was phenomenal and often comparable to some of my favourite authors within the YA fantasy genre. The plot has clearly been researched heavily and planned out accordingly, the author created such a realistic world that I genuinely found myself struggling to put this down and go back to work!

I’ve fallen thoroughly in love with Beau (where can I find myself a man like that - any help is thoroughly appreciated) but didn’t find him to be annoying perfect. Marie-France Leger did a wonderful job at writing flawed characters and I genuinely cannot wait to read the next books in the series.

I actually really loved the different POV's and found that it kept the book fresh without taking away or repeating the story too much. Any of the chapters set in Hell I found really interesting and would have loved to see some more action within that side of the book. It was great to read a book with enough contextual information to make the plot make sense without over-saturating the book with Biblical quotes or stories etc. I genuinely feel this book has the perfect mixture of everything you could want.

If you loved Hush Hush as a teen and are looking for something a bit more mature but along the same genre with an over-protective extremely hot angel, an equally protective extremely hot demon, adventure, fantasy, romance that gets you hot under the collar then this is 100% for you. I’m genuinely thinking about asking to get my copy signed because I loved this so much and am certain this entire series will be a hit.

This was easily a 5 ⭐️ read for me; I’ll be re-reading this every autumn (it gives me Halloween, falling leaves, PSL vibes) without fail and I need the author to please hurry and get the rest of the series out. ALSO!!! The author quite literally thought of everything. One of my favourite things about the book was the playlist that was included in the back. I found this halfway though reading and when I re-read this in a few months I'll definitely be reading with the playlist in the background to add to it. Such a well-thought out book in all aspects and if you're even mildly considering reading this, move it to the top of your TBR. I promise that you won't regret it.

47% through...DNF. Maybe I'll try to read it later. There was just something lacking in the writing....wasn't awful but wasn't fantastic. Kind of boring lol

Wow. WOW. This book was nothing like I have ever read and that says a lot because I read A LOT!! I bought the e-book after seeing this author on tik tok and read it in two days. TWO DAYS. It was addicting (much like other reviews have said). If you are a beginner reader into the fantasy NA world I highly highly recommend this read. It’s fast, it’s intense and it leaves you craving another chapter then another and another! I even bought the paperback to have in my collection after reading the e-book.

I thought I wasn’t going to like it because I personally am not a fan of the 3rd person point of view, but when Maya (the main character) was written in 1st I was like - - huh!?! WAIT?! This is amazing! It was brilliant that Marie-France thought of writing the main character as the sole person with an inner 1st perspective point of view to focus on her emotions since Maya Brixton is the main character. My jaw dropped when I met Beau and thank god he was introduced earlier on because I absolute hate when these brooding mysterious bad boys get introduced nine ten chapters in.

Mags and Maya have such a raw real friendship that made me relate to my own relationships I have with my friends in college. When they had their inner talks and conversations I felt like I was really there like one of the girls! It was such real dialogue and I loved it.

Now there is Siles. I screamed when he ended up going against Lucifer, it was not expected not at all. I am so excited to see how his character progresses in the next two books and if he dies, I die.x

Amazing read, 10/10 I can’t wait for the next one!

IM RAGING RAGING. I WAS SO EXICTIED FOR THE END WHERE THEY SAVE THE WORLD AND SHIT BUT NOOOOO I HAVE TO WAIT TILL THE OTHER BOOKS COME OUT. BEAU HAS MY HEART AND SOUL AND HE CARRIED THE WHOLE BOOK. There wasn’t much detail at all and it was kinda like a overview. ESPECIALLY WITH MAGS AND SILES LIKE WHAT HAPPENED THERE AND WHY DOES THE FUCKING DEMON CALL MAGS MAGGIE LIKEEEEEE WE NEED A PLOT THERE. also none of the little stories had much connection to the plot like the ring and rosy like great I don’t care. MAYA NEEDS HELP WITH THE NIGHTMARES AND THEN IT WAS ACTUALLY HER I NEED MORE IT KINDA JUST WENT PAST THAT LITTLE NOT LITTLE DETAIL. BEAU SHOULD RUN THE HEAVEN AND JUST BE GOD AT THIS POINT. I still don’t get the whole drinking from the cup thing and then when she thought she went of the cliff I got a bit confused in that area. AND KY DYING IT WAS SO OVERLOOKED OH WAIT THE WHOLE PLOT WAS OVERLOOKED. the only thing not overlooked was maya and beau which I’m not complaining about but like the plot would of been so good IF THERE WAS MORE LITTLE DETAIL TO IT AND LIKE IT DIDNT KIST CUT BITS OFF LIKE THE COWARD THINGY. I also wanted to know more about lucifer and his backstory so I could change him 😏😏😏🥵 also I think beau as a demon would be SOOOOOO FUCKNG HOT LIKE I WOULD MELT

Okay, okay, Marie-France Leger. Okay...

So, this is an impressive debut novel. And you're 22?!?! Holy shit!

So, first of all... Beau is the man of our dreams. The sins I would commit to this angel man are obscene. I'd gladly burn in hell to know what he tastes like.

You gave the man tattoos, and that's a weakness of mine... But so is religious imagery, sacrilege, and blasphemy. It's hot, corruption of purity. What can I say?

This was a decently fast-paced read. A good one to sit down with on the weekend and lose yourself to.

I'm telling you, Beau is just walking sex in grey sweats and deliciously tight shirts. I love it. I love the clothes on the floor more

But, Seriously, this story was enthralling from beginning to end. I wasn't expecting some of the things that happened, and they were pleasant surprises.

I'm a little salty we didn't get to see what Beau's dick can do (god, I really wanted to), but the tension is gonna make it SOOOO DAMN GOOD if it does happen

I can't wait for the next one... Go get your man, Maya!! Ave Puritas!!!

Also, I imagined this Lucifer as Tom Ellis' Lucifer for obvious reasons 😆

Just read it. Do it. Just, do it.

CONTAINS SPOILERS!!

I finished this book in one sitting, that alone should tell you how much i enjoyed it. I haven’t read a YA in a very long time as usually i predict whats going to happen but when i tell yall I GASPED at ending. The relationship between Beau and Maya is romantic but is such away where you don’t really see until an intense moment. Their banter is top notch and i loved seeing Mags character develop into the baddass bitch that she is. Also I’m so glad Siles character has a redemption arc 😭

Overall, I loved this book. It was juicy and dark and romantic. It gave me hush hush vibes for sure even though Beau isn’t a fallen angel he’s a nuntius which is so interesting? I actually found myself looking up some of the terms terms like puritas and nuntitus and they actually meant messenger and purity in Latin which is so cool! For the authors first book I thought. Was splendid and I can’t wait to read the second!

angels and demons fighting a holy war

Potential, but not my favorite execution. The romance was lacking some chemistry, felt a little too insta love even though on his end it’s not.

When i say that you need to drop everything and read this book i mean drop everything and read this book. Holly Hell "literally" this book was probably one of the best reads of 2021 for my hands down. i stumbled across this new author on instagram and Tic Tok And was completely sold about not only the story but the vibe of this book, and might i say fantastic job for a first book every written, cuz i could never write a story as complex. Now The story follows Maya Brixton and Beau Gabriel but this book has multiple POVS from many of the characters that make this book SOOO good. It takes place in Kleatons Gate and we get glimpses into heaven and hell and we all know who lives in Hell hehe. and oh did i forget to say that THIS book has angels and demons. So my final verdict after reading the fallen series and Hush Hush, i personally found that 'The Gates of Gabriel" WAS way more exciting and had the right amount of spice and even death, and had me binge reading it till 5am just needing to know what happens next, so if you loved those series, you will love this book just as much or even more trust me on this as this is not your typical i am your guardian angel book it is just so much more.

And i cant with for the next book THE ENDING HAD ME IN SHOCK and LEFT me gasping on whats to come on the journey of Maya Brixton.

HOLY SAINTS IS RIGHT! This book… this book right here is wonderful. I seen it all over my Tik tok and I knew I had to buy it right away and when I did, I binged read it in one night. I don’t even know where to begin tbh but I will start with Beau.

Beau Gabriel, damaged, sexy, sultry and sinful. He is everything you want in a main character without overdoing it. His relationship with Maya is so real and relatable especially since he watched her grow into the woman she became. How can you not get attached? And Maya. I loved that the author included personal thoughts because it made me think of myself when I get into situations and I overthink as well. all too relatable!!

The character development of Siles was impressively written! I had no idea he was going to end up fighting for the good which was so nice to see because I always liked him but I liked him even more after he turned good.

SCREW MARINA and Rosanna is such an interesting character. Just when I thought no more plot twists could come, they did.
I was SHATTTTEREDDD at the end guys. I cried and I neve cry. This was one of my favs of 2021, if not my fav. PLS move to the top of your TBR!

I saw this book on tik tok and decided to give it a buy. Im am not much of a caver when it comes to popular reads but the cover caught my eye so I had to .. and I’m overjoyed that I did. I’m going to include spoilers * so I read the book in two days .. literally two. It is such a fast read and you don’t even need to think about what your reading. I read the back and saw that the author Marie france has never written a YA/NA Fantssy before and I can’t believe that to be true. I can’t wait to see the author progress in the trilogy! *spoiler* I love Siles character growth, I didn’t see it coming especially with how he started off with Mags. Beau also had me thinking in the beginning? Where is this character gonna go? But you see that he curves his way into Mayas character a lot and really tries to protect her despite everything he has endured over the last century. * spoiler closed
it was an impressive read! Can’t wait for the next books

To begin I have never been much of a new adult/young adult fantasy lover. Always have I read non-fiction to a spread of self-help/exploration and never quite ventured off into the world of monsters or witches etc. This book I saw all over my Tik tok and decided to support the young author and truthfully I am very glad I did! It was a very easy read, extremely fast paced and enjoyable. I read it on the train to work and it made the time go by super fast. I suppose I give it a 4/5 because it is not my typical genre so I had a difficult time adjusting but for this to be my introduction I would say to a new realm of books was a sublime transition! The characters were all very personable and I loved the twists and turns. Because something happened every chapter I was excited to read more even if it was getting late!
Great job and well written for a first book of a new young author. Will continue to read more books from her.

I don’t normally write reviews but I spoke with the author and had to say it was a NEED. First offf I had the impression she was in her late thirties which I was wayyyy offf! She is 22 and she wrote and published such an amazing book. I give her 5 stars not because it was the MOST AMAZING SPECTACULAR HARD TO PUT DOWN READ EVER but because of the talent that she has at her age. The characters and dialogue are so relatable and I can envision everything in my head with a good amount of detail. I don’t know why anyone would give this a 1 star because I have read 1 star books and this is not that not at all. She wrote with poetry and tension building which I die for!’ Can’t wait for the next two books!! I’m pre ordering

I know the author personally, and I have to say that it is quite impressive that a 21 year old with minimal experience wrote such an intricate book. You not only see one character, but several characters and their storylines that all come together naturally. I absolutely *SPOILER* love Siles's character progression and can't wait to see more of him in the next book. It has a very grunge-dark style and vibe to it which matches mine perfectly and is extremely easy to visualize what is going on without bombarding you with all the pesky drag-on detail. Overall, I love this book, and I have nothing but good things to say about it! 5/5 and cannot wait for the next one!

SO MUCH TO UNPACK HERE!!!!!
***SPOILER***
Where did Rosanna come from? What is the backstory? She popped up out of nowhere and helped Siles???? I NEED to know more about Siles and his backstory too and I am hoping the author writes more of it in the second book. I cannot rave ab this book enough. They really were written in different perspectives with different story lines and I thought it was greatly done. I LOVED how the author included a playlist at the back of her book I’d never seen anyone do that befor! Great read!

A friend of mine recommended this book to me and I absolutely loved it. Ngl I wasn’t expecting much considering it was written by a young author and writers are usually better with age (with age comes experience) but I was so thoroughly impressed. Nothing about it was complicated (as many authors spend hours describing scenes; so unnecessary and timeconsuming . But this was well written on every page. Very interested to see how the story plays out
