We're from two separate worlds. I'm the heir to a billion dollar corporation and he's a small town mechanic. It was supposed to be a summer fling. And yeah, it was fun while it lasted. But, we're from two separate worlds and it will never work. Even though he makes my heart hammer like there's a heavy metal drummer in my chest; my parents and grandparents would never accept a Laketownie into our family.
He can never find out that this baby is his. Ever.
The Captain's Secret Baby is the fifth book in the Laketown Otters Hockey Series, but each book can be read as a standalone. Get ready for more small town drama, cocky hockey stars, and midnight skinny dipping under the stars.
If your a fan of this series and have been waiting for Dylan Moss and his Model lady, wait no longer, here it is. It’s so good to read his story at last.
Lost parents, Lost out being raised to the major leagues, Struggling with alcohol. It’s been a grind for someone so young.
Maybe it’s finally going his way, but a few challenges still remain for the pair. Sweet and passionate love and romance, with some exciting touches of action on the ice.
Bronwyn and Dylan were incredible together. It was time Dylan got his happy ending. He was truly my favorite character. I loved the epilogue, it was a beautiful ending.
I enjoyed this story. I’m a fan of hockey romances and I love surprise pregnancy so I really enjoyed this story . Not very steamy but sweet and a great HEA.
Secrets are hard to keep in small towns when the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks meets the rich princess but they fall in love her parents don't agree find out that there's a secret baby and everything goes to hell in a handbasket but true love cannot be wavered you can try it will bend but never break I absolutely loved that her greedy parents where shown up and embarrassed and shown they were absolutely wrong wonderful.
This is book 5 in the series but can easily be enjoyed as a stand-alone. There is character overlap, but nothing pertinent to the storyline."The Captain's Secret Baby" follows Dylan Moss and Bronwyn Yates. She is the uber-rich socialite model and he's the hockey-playing blue collar small town guy. What sets this story apart from others like it, is where we start. When we open Bronwyn is already pregnant, her family knows but Dylan doesn't. Of course, her family doesn't approve of her blue-collar beaux, which is a big part of why she hasn't told him. Also, there's the fact that although they've been "together" for two years they've never defined their relationship so both think the other sees it as a no-strings fling.
I couldn't help but feel for Bronwyn, she's so isolated. Keeping the baby a secret means she's had to give up the lifestyle she'd been accustomed to. She also quickly found out how real her friendships were when she stopped going out to party. When she's looking for a friend to confide in she doesn't have any options. Her family is manipulative, unsupportive and belittles her choices. She seems almost afraid of interacting with them.
Dylan is the captain of the Laketown Otters. He's had a couple of rough patches in his life, due to his parents' death, but has pulled himself up and back together. He's a hard worker and has some great people in his life, but little time to enjoy with them. I found he did one thing a bit out of character when he was locking in his date to his sister's wedding. I could see him teasing to do it in the way he did, but felt it a bit out of character to manipulate Bronwyn (I do understand his reasons).
I couldn't help but wish this story was a little longer. I would love to see how much further these two driven people can go. I don't see having a baby slowing them down much.
I received an advanced copy of this story from the author through BookFunnel and am leaving a voluntary honest review.
It doesn't matter that Dylan's job is a mechanic & his passion is to be a great hockey player, he is drawn towards Bronwyn who is a stunning model & has grown up with the billionaire life-style. Her parents try every tactic in forbidding her to be with this "below her social status undesirable" man. They convince her she can do much better than Dylan. She stands to lose everything if she tells him that she's pregnant & continues to associate with him at any level. When they start dating secretly, they confirm they've always loved each other & continues to grow each time they're together. Dylan & Bronwyn discover, thanks to her parents' interference, their secret doesn't stay hidden for long & the truth is revealed. Two people from different worlds who can still overcome any obstacles thrown their way, manage to get their HEA they truly deserve. Such a wonderful story to read! I was rooting for them to see the true colors of her parents & to not let them stop Dylan from getting his queen!
I volunteered to read this ARC & leave an honest review.
To tell you the truth, when I read the previous book in the series, I think Dylan would end up with his friend... sorry that I don't remember her name but Wynter mentioned her on (I think) the second book and I felt like she is in love with him. At that time, she watched while he drunk and met Bronwyn which I think they have started their summer fling since. Well, guess what? I'm wrong. Those summer flings are turned to be their happy ending eventually.
I totally dive into Dylan and Bronwyn's dramas and forget about his friend's feeling along the way while I am reading it. Bronwyn is not perfect even if she is a supermodel and rich. I understand her fear of uncertainty in the future. Dylan has been through a lot after he lost his parents but with his coach helped, he now turns to be the captain of the team. I like that they try to make their relationship works and with Dylan is in a spotlight, it seems Bronwyn finally sees who he really is. The story is full of angsty feeling from family drama, social class differences, and a secret Bronwyn hides from Dylan but it is also sweet and swoon-worthy too.
I've been waiting for Dylan's book ever since we met him in the first book, Not A Player (the story of Dylan's sister, Jessie), when we also briefly met Bronwyn too and I knew that she was meant for Dylan then. I'm not going to spoil anything and the blurb tells you all you need to know about the story. You can definitely enjoy it without having read the first four books, though you will probably go back and devour them after this. Lots of assumptions are made by Dylan and Bronwyn, and her parents are real pieces of work, but this is A.J. and you know they're going to get their HEA. It was nice to catch up with old friends from the previous books, as well as meeting new characters. I loved Dylan's boss and his wife at the marina, bless them, such good characters even though they only had bit parts. I rushed through the book, enjoying every page, and I loved the epilogue. Dylan and Bronwyn's story was everything I hoped it would be, and as I said, hands down the best book A.J. has written so far (although Freddie and Serena from Accidental Chances, Chance Rapids Book 3, give them a run for their money).
Dylan has faced big challenges in his life, and his biggest challenge lies ahead! Bronwyn can’t seem to forget her once and again hookup, but will she give up her lavish lifestyle to be with the man she loves?
I read this as an ARC, it was phenomenal and I couldn’t put in down.
Wynter ought to be celebrating in the streets over the publication of this book. Dylan and Bronyn met several years ago and began an off the grid romance. Or maybe it was just a lot of lusty one-night-stands that happen again and again. For whatever reason, they continue to see each other and are quite smitten with one another. Then Bron gives Dylan the cold shoulder. He can't figure it out. She is a supremely rich girl and he's a boat mechanic, so who knows? Bron's best friend, Tessa turns out to be a jerk, Bron's parents fuddy-duddy, rich, privileged devils, and her grandmother is a big question mark. Dylan's hockey saves his life and the benefits of playing provide them with what they need to live independently. Love gives them a great deal more. Overcoming All The Odds For Love - Bronwyn and Dylan had been in a secret friends with benefit relationship for a couple of years, but Bronwyn had ghosted Dylan for the last couple of months, as she was keeping a ginormous secret from him. Fate brought them back together again and they subsequently embark on another secret relationship. Unfortunately, secrets never stay hidden and her family take it upon themselves to drop the bomb, that would create havoc in their lives, just as they settle into their new relationship.
This book has got romance, family drama, wonderful characters and a truly interesting storyline, that will ensure you are hooked on the story from the first page, until the last word. This book is intriguing in every sense and I can assure you that you will be happy you read it.
I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I usually don't like the secret baby trope (I find it lacks in believability, no matter how hard the authors try) but I found myself enjoying this story and rooting for Bronwyn and Dylan. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Loved this book. Dylan is a hockey player and has been in love with brownwyn for over two years but the problem is they are from different worlds money wise. Can brownwyn keep her secret from Dylan? Will true love win out in the end?
Loved this read! I enjoyed how well the story pulled me in and had me loving Bronwyn and Dylan from the start. I have been curious about these characters and so glad to get to dig in to each of them, see what makes them tick and how strong each of them are. They've been a secret for years, so different yet so connected. The story has ups and downs, sweet and hurt, a fight and determination. It all works very well to create an amazing read!

This is book five in the Laketown Hockey series. This is Dylan and Bronwyn's story. Dylan is Jessie's brother and he is currently the captain of the Laketown Otters hockey team. He is considered a Laketownie, he works hard as a mechanic at the marina and plays hockey. He has also been having a fling with Bronwyn Yates. She is a supermodel and referred to as a cottager. Both of these characters are young, trying to figure out life, deal with the cards they have been dealt while is not always easy. This story has a lot in it that keep me turning the pages and coming back for more. As always it is good to have previous book characters pop in for a little update. Enjoy!
Felicity is an author that writes horror stories. She’s sensitive about what people say about her writing. She decides to write her new book and goes to a small town to do it. Wyatt just had a horrible breakup leaving his angry and not trusting others. They meet and he’s attracted but acts rude as she’s not wanting a girlfriend. But it seems that Felicity has other ideas and goes after him. But the town decides to help and even his family! Will they be together as it seems everyone wants it to happen? I can’t get enough of when true love wins. Dylan isn’t ’good enough’ in the eyes of Bron’s parents, when they decide to be open with their relationship. At the end they decided to start their new life together. There were a lot of twists and turns before they came so far. The characters were very lovable. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
I really enjoyed this book. In past books I wasn’t a fan of Bronwyn, but it didn’t take long into this book to change my mind. I liked that we got a look into how she was really feeling on the inside. Dylan worked hard to get where he was and went after what he wanted. Together they were really cute. I wasn’t a fan of her parents at all, I sort of wish Bronwyn stood up for herself more but she really was just a quiet person. This was a great HEA.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
The Captain's Secret Baby by A. J. Wynter is about a rich girl, Bronwyn and a mechanic, Dylan. Her parents do not think Dylan is good enough because he does not have lots of money. They cause trouble for Dylan and Bronwyn until these two take charge. This is an excellent romance with some heat but I would not call it steamy. I recommend it to romance lovers that want to read a great story that will hold their interest.
This is Dylan and Bronwyn’s story. He is a mechanic and captain of the Otters hockey team. She is a famous model and very rich. They are from two very different worlds, but seem to mesh together perfectly. Her family is determined to keep them apart, but love conquers all. I loved this book and the whole series so far. Can’t wait for the next one.
The Captain's Secret Baby by AJ Winter is an entertaining, intriguing, captivating, steamy with ups and down sports romance story of Dylan and Bronwyn..a hockey player/mechanic and the Heiress..against all odds love prevails...loved it! well done! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.
Read as part of ARC! This is another amazing books in the series!! A.J. has really done it again!! Dylan (Jessie's brother from the first book in the series - Not a Player) & his secret hook up that no one knows about have a run in again here! She is not only still into him but keeping a big secret from him! Now if they could just get it all together they would be so good together even being from two separate worlds! Such a great story!!
Bronwyn Yates, supermodel and billionaire heiress,, and Dylan Moss, hockey player/boat-building mechanic/ Laketownie, had secretly been seeing each other for 2 years. She ends up pregnant and comes home to the family mansion where her family dictates that nobody should be told of the pregnancy. Sparks fly when they realize that they love each other. Great HEA.
