“There is a time to kill and a time to heal. That’s in the Bible... somewhere...”
I Fell in headfirst. The world is deep and kept building. I badly wanted to know where it all headed. A smart, terrifying and highly plausible thriller. Urgent and fiercely exciting. Audacious in its scale and meticulously documented. A raging spy game today. A dazzling thriller and one of the most exciting reads. The wide range of multinational characters that most impresses in the wide spectrum of the plot. The plot of the story will absorb you in such a way that you will follow them anywhere... and suddenly you will realize that you have read hundreds of pages. On the one hand it is a fantastic entertainment; on the other, a window to a possibility that will give you food for thought. The end is brilliant! Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ instalment! Impatient waiting for the the release of Perfect Extraction #5!
The action starts right out of the gate as Jack discovers that even the people closest to him may not be who and what they seem. Then, on an assignment plagued by Murphy’s Law, the lines between ally and enemy are blurred beyond all recognition. I love that we get to see Jack doing what Jack does best: getting into places nobody else wants to go and tackling the missions deemed impossible for anyone else. We also learn some big surprises about the fate of Jack’s family that have me on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what will happen next. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Unextracted is another in Ethan Jones' Jack Storm series. Once again, Ethan has delivered an outstanding book. As always, Unextracted is full of twists & turns. A real page turner that's hard to put down once you start it. For me, personally, I wanted to shout: "I knew it" when it turns out that Jack's "friend" Nora is actually a rival intelligence service's agent whose assignment is Jack Storm. This story has Jack & his partner, Riley Brooks, sent on assignment to bring a CIS agent home. Turns out that this fellow CIS agent isn't as clean as he should be. MI-6 is involved & so are the Russians. I don't want to spoil the twists & turns for you, so read the book (& the others in the series if you haven't read them), you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend Unextracted by Ethan Jones.
I've just finished reading this book and my immediate reaction: Outstanding!
Ethan Jones is an absolute master in this genre and this is one of his best books, by far. There is just something very relatable about Jack Storm and his strengths and weaknesses. The first time I encountered the character in another series by the same author, I told Ethan that the character really has the potential to develop into something spectacular. Having read all the books in the series, I can only say that those words were very prophetic. This series just keeps getting better. There's some plot lines continued from previous books in the series, but to find out what that is: buy the series, I'm not foolhardy enough to upset the likes of Jack Storm.
As for drawbacks, there's only one: You'll get so sucked into a universe where you dodge bullets and speeding cars along with the heroes and villains that you run the risk of not wanting to return to reality.
When a CIS agent is burned extraction specialist Jack Storm is called in to locate the agent and bring him home. Unfortunately things are not as they seem nor do they go as planned. Chasing the CIS agent through Europe Jack and the agencies he teams up with leave a path of destruction everywhere they go. It's a dirty business where your friends and allies change sides as often as they change underwear! An exciting read that will keep you guessing. Jack also finds out some unexpected news with regards to his personal life.
A good plot and intriguing characters will keep you turning pages as Jack Storm try to accomplish the near impossible mission he has been given. The ending is a bit of a cliff-hanger. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.
Another great story from Ethan. This is the fourth one in the series which just keeps getting better and better. Highly recommended. Can't wait to read the next one in the series.
WOW ! Once again Ethan has brought us another awesome adventure in the life of Jack Storm. As Jack and his partner begin another extraction his neighbor once again preys on his mind as does the truth about his missing wife and daughter. An unseen conspiracy puts Jack’s life in danger and an unexpected ally comes to his aid. This is without a doubt a MUST Read !
CIS agent Jack Storm gets into a brief gunfight, after following his neighbour (and potential lover), Nora, to a park, with her Saudi Arabian companion , which doesn't end well for the latter. Jack and partner Riley Booker, are sent to Prague to extract an agent, whose activities have become 'of interest' to MI6. Is he the eponymous target in this Mission Impossible - and will he come quietly?
A sensational spy thriller from Master of Espionage, Ethan Jones, Unextracted grabs you by the emotional throat and doesn't let go for a moment, in a worthy homage to James Bond, Jason Bourne and Ethan Hunt, that you'd have to be mad to miss. Get it now!
An almost unrelentingly bleak episode as Jack attempts (note the title) to extract an asset from Europe aided at times and hindered at others by teams from Russia and MI6... Add his ongoing suspicions of Nora and his hopes that his family is still alive - it was a relief to get a brief suggestion at the end that that hope is not yet dashed.
Another agent is referenced along the way - and Jack needs to call in help from several contacts as his mission goes awry.
Ethan Jones Extracted Series Continues To Be Awesome

Foster, who has supposedly broken into MI6 HQ and stolen classified intelligence, is now off-grid. Storm has been tasked to locate him and bring him and the intelligence back home.
Jack Storm winds his way across Czechia and other countries in an attempt to find Foster. During his travels, he has to wind his way through the Russian team whose mission matches that of Jack's, and find Foster, who may have a mission of his own.
Follow Jack in this great adventure to find out if is able to successfully find Foster and extract him back to Canada. And what a story it is!
Note 1: There really is a true CIS, but it's actually called the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS).
Note: 2: an extractor is an agent whose mission is to exfiltrate other agents whose mission my have failed or otherwise rescue other personnel whose location has either been revealed, compromised, or exposed.
This episode has Jack and his partner Riley tasked to find and extract fellow agent Dwight Foster, who has stolen classified information from MI6. The chase leads them through Czechia, Hungary and Austria, and they cross paths with agents from Saudi Arabia and Russia, who want that information, MI6, who want it back, and even Foster, who has his own plans for it. Then there’s Jack’s neighbor, Nora, who might have a romantic interest in him, but he wonders if she has an ulterior motive. Besides, Riley, is there anyone he can trust?
This is another great thriller by Mr. Jones. To say that this story has a lot of twists and turns, is putting it mildly. It’s well-written, fast-moving, full of action, has a fitting conclusion and sets up the next book in the series with a surprise coming from left field. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so far, and have already pre-ordered the next book. If you like international espionage, you need to read this series! You won’t be disappointed!!
I knew it!!! I can’t tell you what I knew as that would spoil it for you but we finally get some answers to questions that originated back in the first book of this exciting series. This book is the most action-packed yet, with some very unexpected plot twists and so many betrayals and changes of allegiance that it was hard to keep track of who was on which side! The CIS agent Jack is attempting to help is most uncooperative. Everything Jack attempts seems to go sideways and he leaves a trail of destruction everywhere he goes. Some longstanding questions are answered but only lead to more questions. A couple characters from past books appear but we are left to wonder what this means for Jack. He is put in a very difficult position which will impact him in the next book. I’m eagerly awaiting the next book.
I love Ethan Jones’ spy thrillers and he has set extremely high standards for himself. I’m never worried that he’ll be able to maintain them though because he has proven time and time again that he can. Unextracted is a perfect example of his high quality work. Jack Storm is really put through some tough situations in this book from the beginning to the very end. Being an ‘Extractor’ isn’t easy but it’s especially hard for Jack this time when he’s sent to bring out a fellow CIS agent. With many agencies interested in this agent they send their own highly trained personnel. Can Jack even trust the man he’s sent to get out? Ethan Jones gives his readers a fast paced thriller full of top class action and a plot that you’d be hard pressed to find better anywhere.
The 4th novel in Ethan Jones Jack Storm adventure does not disappoint the fans of this outstanding series, Unextracted starts off where Extracted Asset Bk 3 ends and helps to immediately satisfy the lingering questions left in that book for readers to ponder. Jack also finds some answers to questions that he has concerning a British asset assigned to help him bring a successful to his current op in locating a rogue CSIS agent. Jack is betrayed on all fronts in this action packed, page turning adventure, But while the operation continually goes sideways on all fronts, Jack manages to come out on top albeit barely. Readers will not be disappointed I how this book ends. However, in the Ethan Jones way yet another cliffhanger leaves us hungry for more.
A Canadian defector, MI6 intelligence and the Russians. Another great action-filled book from the Master of espionage and counter-espionage novels, Ethan Jones. With well developed, complex and colorful characters, coupled with strong background and settings, the “extracted” novels constitute my favorite Jones series to date. The story line takes you through eastern and western Europe - Czechia, Hungary, Austria and of course, Jack Storm's own Canada. Constant action. Success and failure. The ending is most unexpected to say the least and makes you chomping at the bits for the next book in the series. Loved it.
“The Unextracted” answers a lot of questions. Who is the female, Nora Lake? What is she up to as she attempts to woo Jack? He’s given the task of extracting a Canadian agent, Dwight Foster. Will he be successful? What are the Russian GRU agents up to? What are the British MI6 agents up to? What are the Saudi GIP agents up to? This book is delightfully complicated and has what novel writers call “many twists and turns.” It moves from Canada to Czechia to Hungary to Austria. The energetic, invincible, and very lucky Jack Storm takes us on quite a trip. Last question: What does Jack owe Nora? This is the best book in the series. I look forward to reading Ethan Jones next novel.
Whether in a movie or a book the setup is always a, "It's just a quick and easy grab and go." extraction. But, in reality, it never is easy. And Jack Storm, even though he's the best, can attest to this. He's experienced extractions of all types. But most ask for or expect being retrieved. Sometimes not every candidate can be extracted. But they can't be left either. That's the case with this target. The agent to be retrieved doesn't want extraction. In face he's fighting it from every angle. And reality is that not every target will be retrieved. This saga had a lot of twists and change-ups. A fast-paced and enthralling read.
This book does not disappoint us followers of this great series. Jack is sent to extract a rogue CIS agent from Prague. Along the way he encounters help/resistance from both the Russians and British. He also has to deal with involvement of the Saudi's at home through his "friend" Nora. Can Jack get his fellow agent extracted alive? Does Jack get any closer to finding any information on his missing family? Once started, this book is very hard to put down until finished. Then it leaves you anxiously awaiting the next book!!!
Jack is an extractor working for the Canadian spy service. His job is to get people out of tight situates and return them home. His task in Unextracted is to help a fellow Canadian spy escape from his enemies in Eastern Europe. Jack is left to his own devices as he learns that the British spy service, MI6, and the Russian super elite spy service, GRU, are also after his target. Many twists and turns as Jack discovers no one is his friend. ENJOY!
Apparently the one person closest to you is not your friend. A fellow operative is a traitor working for the Russians who fail to realize he has played them too. Jack has v been placed in an impossible situation and now his missing daughter who everyone thought died in a plane crash with his wife is now being held hostage. A bargaining chip. Another excellent read in this series!! Enjoyed immensely!!
Once again Jack does his magic but with a lot more difficulty than normal. He is torn between wanting the good but seeing the evil. Between another agent and a possible future with another woman. This is the best one of the series! Packed full of action and adventure. He doesn't know who he can trust. The ending blew me away! My heart almost stopped as I read the last sentence. Definitely a must read and I can't wait to get into the next one!
A chilling, tense novel so well written and so exciting that I just deflated when it was over. It's one of those POW books that keeps the adrenaline flowing and your mind spinning during the fight or flight action that makes for a super thrilling story your wish would never end. The is the best Extraction book yet and that's saying a lot. Outstanding and Very Highly Recommended.
Another excellent installment in the Jack Storm series. The book is packed full of action and twists that keep you glued to the pages. Plots that are followed throughout the earlier books are continued in this book nicely. You are left wanting to read the next book as you are left with a cliff hanger and a glimmer of hope that I was waiting the entire series so far for. Highly recommended read.
Jack Storm seems to always get into difficult situations when tasked with running an operation for his agency. And this time is no different. It seems everywhere he turns someone is betraying him. And no one is telling him the true facts of the operation. But in the end it gets done, but Jack learns very troubling personal information that is hard to handle.
This story moved along at a pace that wasn't exciting. For such a short book, it took a much longer time to finish. This should've taken me a day or a day and a half but took me 3 days. There was a lot of talk and when there is action, every peeble, traffic signal, building was described in excruciating detail that skipping numerous pages won't matter.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
For those who have followed the series another excellent on the edge of the seat read . Full of action and intrigue will not disappoint up to the usual high standard and of course highly recommended buy and enjoy.
Because as I finish the nerve ending finish , I need the next book immediately, and he makes me wait ...... Other than that , great author who writes brilliant books
