I've found her. Touched her silken skin. And then she ran from me.
I will do anything to find her.
My mate.
Storgin is the fourth book of the Warriors of the Golden Meridian, a stand alone series in the Warlord Brides universe. There's no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA for each couple!
Reader, dreamer and frantic scribbler. I really do believe that love conquers all... and make terrible things for my characters to survive to prove it! (insert evil laugh here)
Written in first person by AVA YORK & STARR HUNTRESS, Storgin is book 4 and final of the Warriors of the Golden Meridian series and switches perspectives between Storgin and Chloe. Based in a time where aliens are known to humans, and there is a lottery that selects females for compatibility testing to the Mahdfel warriors in exchange for protection against the enemy Suhlik.
I had every intention of writing a decent review, however, since the author(s) couldn't be bothered to write a decent book, I decided to put forth the same amount of effort.
The plot: lacking. The character development: lacking. The storyline: lacking. Romance: lacking. World building: lacking. Everything about this book was subpar at best.
Several times the perspective was skewed. For example, the author would write "Chloe did this or said that" when we were supposed to be reading from Chloe's perspective. It was obvious that the writing was rushed to meet some deadline because there was too many anticlimactic scenes.
4 books. 4 books chasing Zarklac all over the galaxy. 4 books of the villain escaping. 4 books, where the plot was to capture the enemy leader of the Sulik. And it was the most rushed, anticlimactic capture ever. The battle to capture him was crap, and we barely saw nor heard from the big bad intelligent enemy. Wham, bam, no thank you ma'am.
Half of a chapter was dedicated to the battle captains getting together to... snack? For 20 minutes? Before regrouping in the middle of a battle? And Chloe, a spoiled rich girl who ran away from "daddy" just to escape the lottery was suddenly a military admiral? And her only qualification was being able to play an alien version of chess well? So much unnecessary filler-fodder. Just terrible writing.
The book was all over the place, without being committed to a dang thing. It's like they took a chaotic idea board and wrote a half planned version of each idea from the drawing board. "Should we write about the couple's competitive behaviors and let that be the basis of how they fall in love?" 'Sure, but let's do it half-assed.' "Should we include a complicated battle scene?" 'Sure, but let's have them travel back to Tehglaish four times for no reason, when a phone call would've sufficed, and also write it half-assed.' "How should we write the capture of the main villain?" 'Two sentences long, and half-assed.' "Should we have personal conflicts and complex innerdialogue?" 'Sure, but let's make it confusing for no reason, and have their feelings change rapidly without explanation.' "Sweet, we've got a book. Let's print it!"
Dumbest. Series. I've ever. Read. Pretty sure I'm even slightly dumber for reading it. I will NEVER touch a book by these two authors, ever again.
Storgin is the last of the crew that hasn’t found his mate until now. He catches her in his lab on Goldie stealing medicine but by the time he gets his head on straight she’s out the door. Storgin and Thelkor are chasing after her but Thelkor has to stop Storgin because they aren’t getting anywhere running around so he sits on him.once Storgin listens he is convinced to get the crew to help find her. After Rachel asks the urchin they find her and help all the children plus stoping a pandemic on the game station. Now that Storgin has gotten Chloe to think about being his mate they are off to stop the enemy. That is when Chloe step in to get help to save her friends on another planet from the enemy. And that’s how the captains of the galaxy come together to stop the enemy. So enjoy another good book in this series and see if it works out for them!!
Chloe just stole medicine for sick kids from Strogin's lab and he is chasing her not only for the steal but she is his fated mate. When he finds her helping the sick orphans, their lives will never be the same again. There is lots of action and passion during their quest to clear their names and lots of love. This series is completely awesome with wonderful characters and lots of humor. I am looking forward to see how Rachel breaks the news!! I am voluntarily leaving my review of this super carazy good ARC.
The book was awesome with enough action, adventure, drama, humor, fighting for justice, family love, and sexy scenes tat sizzles but not over the top with awesome characters. It seems that this is the last book to this series and I am sad to say goodbye to all the characters ; that feel like old friends? Highly recommended series and definitely a must buy.
I enjoyed reading this series, sad this is the last book. The storyline is entertaining and filled with humor. The interaction and chemistry between the characters is wonderful. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book 📚as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
From Storgin’s first frantic chase through the marketplace to the very end, I loved this book! The banter between the entire crew and the fun and games between Storgin and Chloe had me laughing throughout, especially those on Throik. The antics on Throik made me want to be Chloe! Another hit for this author!
I totally loved this book! Not only was it exciting, it was the perfect conclusion to a seriously entertaining series. Chloe was perfect for Storgin, full of light and fun. She balanced his seriousness and brought him out of his lab and his shell. It was her very nature that knocked the final battle out of the park. I loved it.
One heck of an ending, and I'm going to miss these characters!
The lizard gets it in the end, as do various other bad humans and other miscreants have their days in the sun! The UIN rules, and lost children are saved by a rich lady, the universe gets a new Admiral, and all is right with the world of the Golden Meridian!
It was a good book from beginning to end. No hangups except where the father was concerned. I would like to have seen something happen to the earth side of the men who wanted to try to start the war!!!! Other than that. All was good for me. I don’t have too many hangups about the mis typing and what nots. So I’m good
This is a very good, well written, Alien/Human romance. There is lots of action and heat. The characters are well developed and interesting. This is the last book in the Warriors of the Golden Meridian. Each story could be read alone but it is better read the books in order. Read and enjoy.
It starts with a game of points between the two main characters. This eventually leads to a game of strategy, but it soon becomes so much more. In learning this, she learned to plan ahead, to predict her opponent’s next move….a tactic that will eventually save or doom a multitude of species. .
Loved the first three books. I was always at the edge of my seat on their adventure. Loved the plots. However, this forth book, I found a chore to finish.
This series is so endearing and action packed that I lose track of time and space. Storgin is sparked with fated mate energy when he touches Chloe as she is stealing medical supplies. I cannot strongly enough recommend this book!!
Fast paced with many adventures! I love Chloe’s bright personality and willingness to laugh. I enjoy getting to know a new side of Storgin (aka Handsome). As the adventures continue other friends and contacts strengthen this colorful and powerful force against the evil Suhlik. Enjoy!!!
Une série captivante et très bien construite. Une traduction au top. Des personnages diversifiés et très attachants. De très belles valeurs sont transmises. Les intrigues très bien ficelées. Un gros coup de coeur pour l'équipage du Golden Meridian et leurs amis!
I would give this 3.5 stars, I struggled to complete this. The three previous books in this series was awesome. This one seemed to be rushed. I couldn't wait to finish it.
3 1/2 star rating ( I round up ) Pretty good installment of the series. I enjoyed most of the story. the ending was anticlimactic just wanted more from the villain and the fight.
