Strange things are happening. There are UFOs all over and one crashes into San Francisco Bay. Mitch's friend Tony has the wildest ideas about it.

Mitch got a spare room and will rent it, his new roommate Claytone arrives right on time. An odd tall guy, quite intelligent, and attractive in a particular way. They get along quite well.
Claytone is extraordinary in every way. Mitch is smitten from first sight.

When Mitch gets the chance to get to know Claytone better, he and I, are flabbergasted.
It’s like a dream, for others may be more like a nightmare.
But imagine if dreams come true.

It’s a solidly written story, clearly outlined, entertaining, fun, heartwarming with some extraordinary moments.
The message is short, clear and simple, just do it! I wish I wish!!
Maybe if we change Earth's name in Utopia.
I had a great time reading this story!

Pulled me in and held me till the end.

This story pulled me in right from the first doorbell ring and up till the lights faded away.
I enjoyed how the author wasn't afraid to discuss several different controversial subjects in a positive way. I feel he did an excellent job.
The story was also not my usual reading as I don't get into science fiction much but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to his future releases in this genre.
If your looking for a quick read snatch the one up before it flies away.

This was definitely a different range than I'm used to Matt going in but it's very interesting and oh so very true. He spent time sending some great messages to people in his book. If only people would listen. And I'm paraphrasing greatly here, but the biggest thing is people are afraid of change and fear of the unknown. I'm even guilty of it at times. I think we all are. But it's the more open-minded people that, even if scared, affect change.

All Claytone and his planet want is the same essentially. He has a message to deliver and it may not be a good one to some, but for others, it could be a way of hope. I don't necessarily agree with some of the stipulations for this change, because the world needs variety. However, the point was quickly proven on why change is needed. And I do agree that people like Mitch in this book and his best friends, are others who can affect change. We can't all be geniuses, but we all have the ability to make changes where we are. You never know what one little thing will do to impact someone's life.

And you definitely will never know if you don't keep an open mind and try. This was definitely a little out of Matt's norm and funnily enough….not. But the messages in this book alone make it so worth the read. Give it a shot.

OKAY WOW! WOW!! WOW!!!

This is really the first time I've read a book like this. It's just not something I'm remotely draw to but it is AMAZING!! Claytone comes here with a mission. He has a clear cut message. Mitch is an everyday nice guy. He is unknowingly chosen in advance. He's intelligent, trustworthy and compassionate. His average life becomes very different, very fast. I loved this book. Beyond the storyline is a plea for a better understanding of what's going on around us every day. The core is that we need to do better for each other. We are bigger than the day to day struggles that we face. MATT CONVERSE has opened a door that I can't wait to walk through to see what's on the other side. Thank You for introducing me to new possibilities. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!

I read this sweet novella as a gay retelling of The Day the Earth Stood Still. Aliens arrive, their ships visible around the world. Humanity is mesmerized, and life as we know it is changed forever. Mysteriously, they disappear, but one sinks into San Francisco Bay. Mitch, our hero, is fascinated: why are they are, what do they want? Where did they go?

Then, Claytone shows up to rent his spare room. He is impossibly tall, and odd. Mitch founds out how odd when he finds a robot in the closet, Nictow. Yes, Claytone is here to save us from ourselves. Mitch finds drawn to the alien. Could he be following in love? The answer is yes, and apparently so. is Claytone. The alien gets our attention for his message, by making the Earth stand still: all electronic devices go dead. Earth is warned. Shape out, stop the violence, or the consequences will be dire.

What will happen to humanity? To Mitch and to Claytone? Stay tuned.

I wish this novella was longer!

REVIEW
Stranger Danger! or not?
Mitch has a spare room and decides to rent it out.
The renter is Claytone. Strange name...
Things go from weird to weirder.
Claytone is pretty much upfront about who he is and where he is from but Mitch can tell no one else. All will know...
All Claytone wants is for the people on earth to believe as his planet does.
And Mitch wants nothing more than to fall into his dreams of Claytone for real.
This story held my attention, it's well written and has a great message.

I must confess that I have not ever been a big fan of Sci-fi reads but this book has made me a fan.

The characters were phenomenal. I loved reading and getting to know Claytone and Mitch. Together they made a beautiful and heart felt story. I felt a true connection with these characters, especially Mitch's feelings throughout the story.

The storyline is amazing. It's very well written with an awesome plot and character building. It got me in all the feels and made my heart ache for the characters. Converse has a knack for storytelling and keeping his audience on the edge of our seats with a touch of humor, love, connection and sadness. I am anxious to read the next story because I crave more of the characters and their story. I highly recommend this read!!

Unique

This was a unique alien story. Spacecrafts were seen in the sky and one landed in the San Francisco Bay. Mitch is a regular guy: sweet, intelligent, compassionate, and has a room for rent in his house. Claytone is a little odd and dresses like he stepped out of the 50's. Mitch is drawn to his new roommate and develops a little crush. But with the threat of aliens possibly showing up at any time, can Mitch and Claytone become more than roommates? I liked Mitch's active imagination and his intense dreams. The big reveal at the end was surprising, I was not expecting that at all. It really makes you think though and I am eager to dive into the second book to find out what happens.

Homage to "The Day the Earth Stood Still"

The Day the Earth Stood Still, the original, is one of my favorite movies. This was a little delight of an homage. If you haven't seen the original movie, see it as it helps with the mental visual.

By itself, this was a fun read. Mitch's third person point of view bothered me. I wanted more first person from Mitch.

I look forward to Claytone's return. Mitch will be hounded because of his apparent friendship to the "being from outer space."

If you’ve seen”The Day The Earth Stood Still” then you’ll have very good idea what this story is about. The difference between them is this is written from a gay viewpoint. For all those people who read and watch science fiction and wondered “Where are the people like me?” well they are in this novel. My only misgiving
is that we as a species, even more nowadays with all the turmoil in the world wouldn’t heed the message.

Inventive and Interesting

The Day the Earth Stood Still has always been a favorite movie for me. Taking that concept and adding a gay twist to give us a new look at the story is great. And to the point of the story, yes’s, we need to change the violent elements in our society. If it had to be a 99% purge, that might be the price we need to pay.

And then they came

Very interesting story. Not something I would usually read but I’ve been wanting to read this for some time.

Claytone has a mission and Mitch was selected as the one human to know his secret prior to the delivery of his parting message. Neither realized the connection they would develop for each other.

Interested to see what happens in 99 days later.
