Imagine the most embarrassing thing to ever happen between a moody Irish boss and his least favorite, cat-loving engineer.
Is the answer pepper spraying him at the office because it was dark and he took you by surprise?
Yeah. Welcome to my nightmare.
Because of the—ahem—unfortunate pepper spray encounter, I have no doubt broody Colm Murray will send me packing. Until a time-sensitive job makes him join forces with the leading expert on the project. AKA—me.
After a few late-night coffee runs, some takeout in the office, and an unforeseen allergic reaction to my fur baby, I start to see a sweeter side to Colm.
But when our job well-done earns the praise of corporate, Colm is offered the first flight back to Ireland, and I’m at risk of doing the most unprofessional thing yet—confessing I’ve fallen head over heels in love with my boss.

I live in Utah with my husband, our four kids, our dog who thinks she is human, and a rather suspicious cat. A fantasy anthology which included my work in 2018 hit the USA Today Bestseller's list. I have written several fantasy and romance novels and adore both genres!
You'll most likely find me when I'm not writing trying to keep up with the kids, daydreaming, spending time in the mountains, and drinking too much caffeine.
This is an entertaining opposites attract romance between Jace and Colm. The author does a great job pulling you in with her detailed and descriptive writing as she brings these two together. It's a sweet ,fun story and I enjoyed reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I loved this story so much. It was clean and wholesome with lots of swoon-worthy kisses and a sexy Irish accent to boot.
Jace was successful, funny, smart and intimidated by her Irish boss. Colm was cold, reserved, handsome and had a sexy Irish accent. They were about as opposite as you could get but you know how it goes; opposites attract.
Colm was the perfect book boyfriend. As the story developed and Colm became less reserved and more open around Jace, he became even better. I loved the connection these characters had with each other and the other supporting characters in the book. The small town atmosphere and friend connection lent more support to the story. I was sad when I finished the book. I have read all the books in this series and can't wait for the next one to continue the Honeyville story of friends.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
But in spite of the great reviews this book has received, I can’t say I loved it, either. I haven’t read the other books in the series, but if they’re as lacking in humor, romance, and emotion as this one is, that’s probably a good thing. There didn’t seem to be much chemistry, not much romance, certainly nothing to hold a reader’s interest. It would have been twice as good, in half the time. There was a whole lot of nothing going on for a whole lot of miles. I won’t belabor the endless typos that made it very difficult to slog through. Well, the WRITING did that, but the typos certainly didn’t help anything. For me, this is a no. I’ll be passing on the other books in this series, as well.
I love Don't Marry the Boss so much that I am ready to read it again! I love Colm and Jace - who are both quite unforgettable. I am certainly glad they got past the mace mishap and the cat allergy. Colm's grandfather is the epitome of an evil manipulator. It is nice to find that August's and Rafe's dad actually has some redeeming qualities. I thought I loved Dot and Sawyer's story, but this one quickly became my new favorite of the series. You do not want to miss it.
Loved the story of Jace and Colm. First off I love me some good Irish accent. Swoon. Second it was delightful to watch the development of the relationship and to see Colm open up and heal his heart.
And I won’t spoil anything but all I can say is get some tissues ready for a super touching reunion! I rarely cry from books but this one was just too good.
Highly recommend this series and this author. Her rock star series is fab too!
loved the accent, loved their chemistry, would absolutely kill for a guy like Colm. loved their "little thing" custom. I liked Jace a lot, she was a flawed woman with insecurities who still managed to appear confident and nonchalant about the things that bothered her, but at the same time, she felt things deeply and wasn't afraid to say what she felt. loved her character, and it was just what Colm needed
This may be the final in the Debutante Rules series but I am sure that I will reread them. Each book introduced characters that built the image of a complex but delightful community. Jace finally meets her boss who recognizes her talents and encouraged her growth. In turn, she encouraged him to fight for his dream of freeing his mother from his vindictive grandfather's guardianship. Love blossoms!
Great story. Colm and Jace have an interesting tale to read. Their interactions are sometimes witty, sometimes poignant. Their backgrounds are very different, especially emotionally. Really enjoyed reading this and highly recommend it. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
I absolutely loved Jace and Colm. The layers to the story were very engaging and we get to see all the characters from the previous books. I definitely shed some tears over Colm’s struggle. This was a great series. If you haven’t read it start at the beginning and enjoy the wonderful ride.
I will definitely re-read this one and I don't say for a lot of books. I absolutely loved the first person point of view of the story. I couldn't put this story down. 5 stars.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
4.5⭐️ Stayed up to late and smiled too much! This book was such a surprise. I enjoyed the characters, the deep “life” stuff and of course the romance. Wowza was it gooood! And clean. The pacing was so well done and I loved the ending.
This series has gotten better with each book. The characters intertwining stories are are so well done, and by this last book an entire community of family exists. Love it!
Ok this one just wasn’t for me at all. I was close to dnf but powered through because I didn’t completely hate it. I definitely should have checked more reviews beforehand because I wouldn’t have read if I knew it was closed door. Not a bad book for some but not for me.
Delightful story. I truly have loved this serious. Nice to see restoration. The accent is yummy lol! Sorry to see this series end. They need more friends or family.
One of my favorites of Childs's. The earlier books in this series are fun, but they rely a lot on cliches. Here, Childs has found her stride. This was an absolute delight.
