I borrowed His Third Try: A Hammond Family Farm Novel ~ Ivory Peaks ~ Book 3 from the Kindle Unlimited Program.

Boone Whettstein, a widowed single father and Cosette Brian find romance in His Third Try as they both learn to trust and commit to each other. Boone has his teenage daughter, Gerty to protect and Cosette was married to an excessive abusive man and has major trust issues with men. Boone has lots of patience and is so super nice and dependable that she learns that she can trust her heart to him very slowly. I loved how this life of the party guy showed her a softer side of himself and was so sensitive to her needs. All the great characters from the previous books in the series are in this story supporting each other and working together to help others, which one of the main theme of this series. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Another fun addition to this series! Boone's story

Romance, contemporary; series, but stand alone read, western setting
LI always crafts a fantastic romantic read with hurt characters that meet someone who compliments them well. Told from alternating points of view, Boone, Cosette's and a dash of Ferry and Michael's story along with the beginning of Travis and Posey's story waa a sweet lovely romance, with Western ranch setting.
She always includes a few characters from other novels, and you truly via with family and feel welcome at the table.
Alexa can't wait for the next.

His Third Try is a heartwarming story of Boone and Cosette, both working on the Hammond farm in Colorado. Boone had decided to leave his home in Montana and take his daughter Gerty to work as one of the cowboys on the farm and equine therapy center that his brother was the foreman. Matt had suggested Boone come after losing his wife to cancer and then trying to have a relationship with Karley, Nikki's best friend that he eventually seen she didn't have feelings for him. He needed help as he lost Nikki when Gerty was only 7 years old. Matt knew how hard that was as his wife left him with a son and a daughter to raise. Now that Boone was living in Ivory Peaks, Colorado he was happier than he had been in a long time. He met Cosette that worked in the office at the therapy center and something about her connected. He starts talking to her and found that she had been in a marriage that was abusive and she had went into therapy to try to come out of the deep fear she had lived in for the last few years.

Boone had such a kind heart that she starts dating him. They go slow but he falls so fast in love with her and she was not healed enough at that time but said if he was willing she was trying to get to the point she could think about getting married again. When her father becomes ill, Cosette's world starts falling apart. She calls Boone telling him she needs him. Boone felt loved and hope for a future with her. Gerty is depending on Cosette to talk to when she needs a woman. Matt had married Gloria and she was now helping him with his teenage son and younger daughter that had a disability that caused her to have problems walking and falling. They had just found out they were going to have a baby together. That was the life Boone wanted. He wanted a wife and someone to be a mother to Gerty as she deserved that. Boone just hopes Cosette heals her heart soon so the pieces of his heart that fell apart 7 years ago could come together again soon.

His Third Try: A Hammond Family Farm Novel: Ivory Peaks Romance Book 3 is by Liz Isaacson. Matt Whettstein had moved his family to Ivory Peaks, Colorado to work for the Hammonds. Boone had thought he would stay in Montana for the rest of his life. He had his home on the lake, his daughter, and was dating his late wife’s best friend. He thought he was happy; but it turned out that Karley wasn’t for him and they broke up. Boone found himself missing his brother and his family so he and his daughter, Gerty, moved to Colorado. After being here for the summer, he thought he and Gerty had settled pretty well. He hoped Gerty would make friends when school started. With Matt getting ready to marry for the second time, Boone began to think about dating.
Cosette Brian worked for the Hammonds in administration of their businesses. Boone had known her in that capacity since he was hired. He knew she was beautiful and there was something about her that called to him. What he didn’t know was that she had been in a very abusive marriage and had finally gotten out of it fifteen years ago. It has taken her this long, with therapy, to even be able to do her job in a world where men were who she mainly dealt with at work. She stayed at home most evenings and avoided situations where there were lots of people.
Could Boone break through her barriers and bring her back to life? Could he do this without hurting either Cosette or his daughter, Gerty? Was he even ready to see another woman?

This is Boone and Cosette's story. Cosette was abused terribly by her first husband. She escaped in the middle of the night and went to her family for help. Thank goodness she had them to turn to and had the strength to do so! Many years later, she was still a shell of her younger self, scared of men, worried about getting hurt again.
Enter Boone, literally the life of the party, happy-go-lucky single dad. The two couldn't be any more different! However, Boone's past held deep hurt as well, which helped him understand Cosette's actions and respect her boundaries.
I really enjoyed seeing the development of Cosette's personality, back to what it would have been before her first marriage! She was a flower bud just waiting for a little sunshine to help her be the brightest she had ever been. I 100% recommend this book to anyone who loves clean contemporary love stories. I received a copy of this story from the author, but that didn't influence my review in any way.

Journeying to Liz Isaacson novels, and the world she builds with her words, is the best! She pens a sneak peek at future main characters; readers can feel connected to and already begin rooting for the next couple to make their romance work. We also get glimpses at previous characters too, so we know how beloved figures on the homestead and ranch are doing.

Boone and Cosette are soooo precious! I’ve been ready to dive into their romance since the tiny preview in their chapters from the second book. In “Ivory Peaks” third part of the series, we get healing from past relationships, ups and downs of parenting a teen girl, and consenting to boundaries. I love how Boone was respectful of his daughter’s dating life and of Cosette’s sensitive past with abuse. Cosette was kind and understanding of Boone’s late wife and ways he and Gurdy need to keep her spirit alive.

Individually, Boone and Cosette’s stories are compelling, and they broke my heart, but I didn’t find their story – together – to have held my attention quite as well as the previous book. And perhaps it’s because both leading characters had such tragic backstories. A widower and a domestic abuse survivor are naturally going to have a lot of emotional baggage to unpack. I also wasn’t feeling the connection between our leading couple that I wanted to. I could tell that there was something between them, I just wasn’t always sure it was strong enough to build a life on. In any case, I’m very interested in seeing how the story of our next couple will unfold.

Third Times A Charm

After his wife's death and a failed relationship, Boone has uprooted his daughter and himself. He has found a good job and is working alongside his brother. He is still trying to keep his promise to his late wife, find another woman who will love him and their daughter.

Cosette is still trying to put her life together after her abusive ex. Things change as Boone has shown interest and she isn't so sure she is ready for him or a relationship. As they learn more about each other feelings become real and they become entwined.

Can they really be together?~

Great Series! Boone is a widower with a teenage daughter just learning about boys. Cosette is still trying to work through her failed, abusive marriage that ended years ago. Can he help her heal and can she be trusted with his heart and his daughter? Can they each get beyond their pasts? Once again Liz Isaacson brings characters to life that depend on faith to help deal with their problems. It was great to catch up with the Hammond family and see how their love and faith extends to their cowboys. Don’t miss this new, clean, and inspirational story!

A sweet story of second chances (or third in Boone's case) and overcoming hurts and wounds from the past. Boone is a single dad raising a teenage daughter after his wife died. He moves to Ivory Peaks to work on the Hammonds' ranch with his brother. When he meets Cosette he is attracted to her, but she wants nothing to do with any man after escaping from an abusive marriage. As they both learn to trust God they find forgiveness and healing. A touching, inspiring story. I can't wait for the next one with Travis and Poppy

I really enjoyed the story of Boone and Cosette. How Cosette came from an abusive relationship into this relationship and how it didn't just happen overnight. Boone's story from being a widow to coming into this relationship also took time and interweaving his daughter. A really great story . I read this as a stand alone and I am going to go back to read books 1 and 2 to read about the others. I am also looking forward to reading about Travis next. A great story that makes one want to read the series.

Boone is a widower and single dad to a young teen. Cosette is a divorcee with an abusive marriage behind her. He is still grieving his wife’s death six years earlier, but he is lonely and a bit envious of his brother’s second chance. They meet on the huge Hammond homestead where they both work. The mutual attraction is there but the baggage is going to be a pretty big hurdle to overcome for both of them. Well written and an enjoyable read.

Love, love, love this author!

I am never disappointed with any of Liz's books. She is such a great storyteller and her characters are so real and relatable that I find myself completely invested in their stories. The minute I start reading, I can't stop until I'm done. I loved Boone and Cosette's love story, and I also enjoyed the way we were given some insight into the other Hammond's too. I like being able to catch up with previous couples and find out what's going on in their lives. Wonderful. I highly recommend this book and the whole series honestly!

Boone and Colette

When a woman has endured physical and mental abuse from her first husband, she has scars inside and out. Cosette finds herself afraid to have men touch her so when Boone catches her as she starts to fall, Cosette finds herself being cruel to Boone. However, Boone is a horse whisperer so he knows he has to move slowly and carefully with Cosette.

Do things go smoothly all the time? No, but like in any relationship conversations must occur. This makes this story so believable and great.

Liz Isaacson has outdone herself again.

I had an Advance Readers Copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Boone Whettstein whose wife had died leaving him with a 12 year old daughter and Cossette Brian who had divorced an abusive husband try to find their way to a new relationship. First they must both heal from the past. This book involves trust in relationships and allowing people to be close. Liz Isaacson weaves a great story in this book and I recommend reading it.

Boone and Cosette

I love when the characters in a book have true to life problems and get the help they need to overcome their mental and emotional illness. I love that Boone is outgoing and patient. And also that he has his own problems and concerns to figure out. I thought the relationship between Boone and Gerty was perfect. If you like a story that will make you laugh and make you cry, you should read His Third Try.

Boone's and Cosette's story is touching. He's patient with Cosette, who's had relationship issues since she married her abusive ex-husband. Boone's outgoing personality hides a painful relationship. I like how the characters have multi-dimensional descriptions, dealing with realistic problems. I'm loving this entire series! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have freely given my honest opinion in this review.

IS SHE READY

Boone is a loving and patient man with a great love for his 13 year old daughter and Cosette who has a lot of baggage to work through. I enjoyed reading how kind and understanding Boone was with Cosette while she worked to find worth in herself. This was a very touching and inspiring story. It brought a tear or two to my eyes a few times. I really enjoyed reading this book and think you will also.

His Third Try

Once again Liz Isaacson has given us an interesting book in the Ivory Peaks series. This story follows Boone and Cosette as they strive to find a lasting relationship. Cosette has suffered an abusive first marriage so she is learning to trust once again. Boone suffered the loss of his first wife to death followed by a bad relationship experience. Will they be able to overcome their pasts to let themselves love again?

Healing After Hurt and Heartbreak

I just cried through finishing this story. After the death of my own spouse, it was easy to relate to Boone's life and love. It was handled gently and beautifully. Thank goodness I can't relate to the abuse Cosette had endured. Once again, Liz Isaacson handles life's hurts with grace and reality. I love her stories' families, their honesty, and loyalties to each other.

This is such a beautiful story and covers so many real-life experiences. I loved how Boone was able to move forward after his loss, I love Cosette and her ability to trust and love again, they are such a great couple. I loved Gerty, Boone's sweet tween, I laughed at some of the interactions between parent and child. I cried at such tender moments. Liz has created a wonderful series full of love, trials and happiness.

Another wonderful visit to Ivory Peaks

This is so good. The characters are interesting and delightful. We catch up with the extended Hammond family as well as Boone and Cossette's family dramas. There is humour, angst, tears, uncertainties and lots of love and hope. Absolutely well worth reading.

Really Great Series

I'm really enjoying this series and getting to know all the characters and catching up with some from a different series. I absolutely loved Boone and Cosette’s story. Boone's wife died, later he embarked on another relationship but it didn't work out so he's moved to be near his brother. Then he met Cosette but she's had an awful previous relationship and still hasn't recovered.
Boone takes it slow but feels like he's going one step forward and two steps backwards.

Is there an HEA? Of course, it's Liz!

Another good reason not to miss a Liz Isaacson book. This book has romance, humor, family interaction, faith and a few twists. I fell in love with Boone and the way he parents Gerty. Cosette is patient with the time he needs to be with Gerty and the love he has for his late wife. Cosette takes time for her family, especially her father. These are people you want to be friends with.

I Kinda fell in love with Boone last book. I wanted to find out about his life a bit more and try to understand Cosette! What a roller coaster for him! I had tears in my eyes many times.. My heart ached for him and also Cosette. Loved this one so much! Looking forward to poor Travis' attempts to win over Poppy to no avail.

A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This one about Boone and his daughter Gerty and the journey their life takes. This is a standalone read with plenty of characters to follow easily along with. Cosette works at the farm for the Pony Power a children's equine therapy unit.
