Like Michael Carasik's Mikraot Gedolot series, the Mikraot Hadorot seeks to give readers the views of a variety of commentators. But while the former series contains four or five perspectives, this series contains the insights of dozens of commentators, from Philo (1st c.) to 20th-c. commentators such as Rav Joseph Soloveitchik. Of course, this volume requires a lot more reading: while Carasik edited one volume for each book of the Torah, Koren seeks to have one volume for each Torah portion (of which there are over 50).
