Have you ever been simply existing one day, and the next, your world is turned upside down?
Amazing how your whole life can change in a matter of twenty-four hours.
Dreams dissolve. Love shatters. Addictions relapse.
Hell for Leather motorcycle club finally broke me. By stealing everything important to me, they took what little energy remained in my weary soul that I needed to get through my final Bike Week as their exotic muse and crushed it beneath their hot, roving tires.
Now, the men who once held a special place in my heart are using me, holding hostage what is most precious to my existence and making me work for its redemption.
I was tired before, but that was nothing.
Time to put on the show of my life. Time for one more "dance."
Come what may, I will take back what is mine. But only if I can keep my head in the game and my heart out of the picture.
Adell Ryan is a hubby/wife pseudonym. Adell writes unconventional love stories about fierce women and their numerous male suitors. Because let's be honest, we need more than one to satisfy our multi-dimensional needs. Right? Ryan simply puts up with Adell's crazy fantasies and toots her horn regularly. Occasionally he'll add in a shoulder pat, and a deep, sexy "Damn that's good stuff."
That southern boy (bless him) stole this northern girl's heart and they live together in the deep south, raising their three boys. When Adell isn't writing she's homeschooling — primarily working on dictation, making sure they say 'creek' instead of 'crick' and 'fire' instead of 'fer.' She also dabbles in photography and graphic design. Oh yeah, and reading. Every. Night. Much to Ryan's dismay. Sometimes she puts the steamy stuff down and gives him a quick kiss on the forehead though.
Adell Ryan is able to make you feel what the characters are feeling in just a few short sentences. I'm always blown away about how quickly she can immerse me in the scene with a few descriptive phrases that'll make me smell the ocean or feel the grit of the floor. Lace is struggling to survive after her world keeps getting turned on end. There were several twists in this one that kept me guessing. The end of this book has me hooked in so hard that I'm already craving the third. I love the men of this group and usually prefer a smaller group of guys because I have a harder time keeping them separate in my mind. The author does such a good job of giving them their unique personalities and interactions with Lace that I couldn't imagine the dynamics without even one of them. This series does touch on drug abuse and some other darker material so it might not be for everyone. This second book is harder from the get go and doesn't get easier but I still crave it.
Gears & Fears is the second book in the Hell for Leather MC series and you must read them in order. L&L left us with that devastating cliffhanger. G&F picks up right where we left off. Again, not to give anything away on what's going to happen in the book I'm going to be vague. I can tell you that this book will absolutely ruin you. If you know me at all you know that I DO NOT CRY OVER BOOKS. I mean obviously it does happen but it is super rare. Adell had me crying at work while reading this book. They weren't all sad tears though. There were some happy tears in there as well. Which tells you just how amazing this book is. To not only bring me to a point of sadness that got real tears but to swing around and bring me such happiness...superb!
I will say that this book has you really thinking about these characters and what they are capable of. Someone did some dirty deeds and Lace is on the hunt to find out who it was. In doing her investigative work we get a closer look at some of these guys. Speaking of guys, there is one guy, not naming names here, who I was not 100% sold on. There were just some things that had happened that had me very wary of him. This book had me on board with him though.
So yea, not giving anything away is hard b/c there is sooooo much that I want to talk about. That absolute gut wrenching scene for one. Alas, I will just say that you absolutely, 100% MUST read this book. Hopefully we won't have to wait until 2023 for the third book b/c we have another ending that is just like WHAT??? Did that really just happen? No freaking way!
Hell for Leather MC 2 was honestly a little tough to get through. Adell Ryan managed to make me suffer alongside Lace but in the best way that only good story telling can accomplish. I was feeling every bit of turmoil alongside Lace throughout the entire book. Everything I guessed about the "who dun it" was wrong which also speaks to the way the author was able to drop hints that were not too obvious but thinking back were definitely present.
Sad to see the release of book 3 in this series is set so far from now, however I also won't criticize an author for wanting to take the time to make sure each installment of their story is done to the best of their ability. My impatience is mine to deal with 😂
Lace has been open and willing to do anything Hell for Leather asked of her. She would sacrifice her body and dreams for them but when they only seem to want more and more from her, she wonders when it will ever be enough. Her H4L men are on a mission and for some reason that mission leads directly to everything Lace holds dear. Without much ability to fight them all she has to give in and just hope that when the rally is over and they go home that she will have enough of her sanity left to free herself from the oppressive hold their club has on her. But there seems to be something bigger than all of them at work and Lace is the main focal point of it all.
This girl just keeps getting smacked down and laid low but it never keeps her down for long. Even when everything seems hopeless she still finds a way to power through it. She is incredibly strong. But I really don't like the way the guys treat her. One minute they are caring and acting as if she is it for them and the next they are treating her like any old whore they could pick up off the street. It is really hard to keep up with who feels how strong for her and to what degree is it just them wanting to get their rocks off. I do believe there are a few in the group that genuinely have a thing for her and others who simply like what she can give them in the equation. Their relationships don't read like traditional love stories. There is no hearts and rainbows where any of them are concerned; not even with Lace herself.
The mysteries become even more hard to follow in this book but by this time most of the foundation story is covered so I didn't feel quite so lost in the details. Even after completing the second book in the trilogy I am still scratching my head as to what Kal has up his sleeve and ultimately who the actual big baddie is.
I was thoroughly surprised by the debauchery Zane engaged in in this book. I thought he'd offer a bit more resistance but it didn't take Lace long to wear even the most devote of the brothers down it would seem. I do think Zane is by far the more healthy of the love interests for Lace.
The cliffhanger in this book was terrible! I have to wait until April 2023 before I can know what happens next! Ms. Ryan is an evil woman, but I am glad I didn't give up on the series. It's proving to be well worth the read.
I will be the first person to tell you I read what I feel like in the moments that I pick up a book. If it does not agree with me, I will stop reading, because there are so many books out there that are deserving of a person reading it. I like the way this author writes. She writes dark, and I have posted a review about her stories previously. This story starts up right after Leather & Lace, and it is no less dark or sexy. Adell Ryan has dug deep for this story of Lace & the men of HFL MC. Lace is up against the wall, in many ways, and now is the sole protector of her baby sister. What she forgets is that she is still under contract with the MC, and they will do everything in their power to save her, even if it is from herself. The author states at the beginning of her story that nothing in this story (drugs, sex, motorcycles, death) is used to glorify certain plotlines in the book, but that they are part of this lifestyle and therefore she does not shy away from them. I liked this story as much as the first, and I cannot wait for the next in the series.
I am in shock in a good way. That cliffhanger was equal parts heartbreaking and satisfying. You really get to see a bit of a different side to Lace. The steamy scenes were also emotional and it was very well done. There is still so much mystery but you get a few answers in this book. I feel like we haven’t even really gotten to the meat of their troubles in this book so I’m excited to see and learn more in the next book! love the cameos with Remi and Crow. It going to be so hard to wait for the next book!
Who needs sons of anarchy when you have this hell for leather series.
Lacy seems to have a lot of bad luck, her story still not finished and hopefully what happens next will turn her life round for the better and the guys actually become a proper MC and family.
Trust has been a huge issue in book 2, tests, drugs and a lacy who isn’t scared to get her hands dirty or in her case filthy 😜
It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions and a shocking surprise or two that you didn’t see coming.
Loving this series and I actually liked this book a lot more than the first- although that was good too. Here we delve a lot deeper into the different characters and relationships as well as the intrigue. I loved the pageant scenes as well- those were a lot of fun.
I somehow saw coming what we get in the end- or at least part of it- and now I’m jumping right into book 3 to see how it all works out. I loved that angsty aspect of not knowing who was doing what or how it would go- kept me engaged and turning pages!
it was good but so sad, but the things the club put on her was too much. Taking her sister, letting her believe that her dad was dad. And all that, dont think i can forgive Kaldon. And he needs to apologize to her, he treats her like crap but still be like" i cant get her out of my head". She deserves better honestly i hope she Kal dont get to be forgiven. Zayn was my fav. Sorry for bad english.

This book had so many switches going left and right and up and down that I never saw the ending coming. I mean, I got one of the things right, but the very end...no freaking way. Wow Adell. Never has anyone got me that good. Book three needs to happen sooner than later please cause I need to know. 5 stars means loved it and would read it again and again even though my TBR is long. Thank you for sharing your gift!
Wow ive been stalking laces books for a while well written with some hard story lines this book might not be for sensitive readers . Im hooked through i love lace and her leather wearing men i just hope she gets her happy ever after
O.M.F.G. That was INTENSE AF. My heart hurts for Lace so much right now, it’s not even funny. I have questions I need answers too and I hope 2023 gets here fast as hell. I need so much more of this crew!! 🖤🔥😈🔥🖤
Lace and her guys oh my stars as she would say! The spice and the twists and turns. That freaking cliffhanger was a complete shocker I did not see that coming. I can’t wait for the next book.
I honestly don’t know what it is but it’s just not hitting for me.
I feel like so much has happened yet so little, don’t get me know I’ve not been able to put it down. I just feel like the writing could be so much better.
