The only way to rid Lumen of corruption was to hit Reset.
My Plan for the Reset: 1. Figure out a way to heal Wade. 2. Find the mainframe. 3. Don’t get caught by Lumen, the Apostates, or the gods.
Anouk had his idea for the end of days, but so did we and they couldn’t be more different. Humanity had fallen, but it seemed so had the gods.
As we go about our mission we are met with secrets, lies, and betrayals around every corner. When faced with revelations that bring my world crashing down around me, what will I choose? Will I follow the men that claim me, body and soul or will a temptation from my past be too great to pass up?
What do I do when both choices mean breaking my heart in two?
The Forgotten Prison series is a WhyChoose mmmmfmm romance, meaning the female main character doesn't have to choose between her men. Reset contains violence, attempted assault, and other situations that others might find triggering.
I don't know if I'm ready to see Mila and her fellow demigods go yet. This series has become one of my favorites to read. The character development and the storyline were so balanced along with the amount of steam involved throughout the book that there was never a dull moment, even when the scenarios or locations changed as the story progressed.
This final book was a bit faster in pace compared to the others, but that wasn't an issue for me. I enjoyed everything finally coming to a head, having the governing higher ups exposed, finding out who all the baddies were, and coming to an ending that didn't make it necessary for the gods to go to the extremes that they had planned. It was also nice to see Mila and the guys think outside the box and adapt the horsemen's abilities to the more modern world, mingling them more with the technology available and not just relying on the basics.
Another great thing about this story was that the villains weren't as obvious. I feel like there were several possible suspects, but the ones that were shown were so completely unexpected that I never would have guessed them. Even though I do enjoy stories that leave little bread crumbs along the way to give you hints, I also love being shocked by a story where the author(s) are able to keep secrets away from the reader the entire time.
Overall, this series has been so much fun to read. It's captivating with a unique play on reincarnation and a storyline that is not only interesting but also includes action, humor, and romance blended together. You could be laughing one minute and then hit by an intense sadness the next. This is one that I'll come back to for sure.
Suki Williams is always a one click read for me, so I snatched this series up the first chance I got. And I'm working my way through the rest of Jarica James' books right now.
I loved this series. There was so many twists and turns. I loved how this story started off. It drew me in when I was stuck in a rut and nothing was catching my attention. While this omnibus is long, it does have the books broken up so you know where you are at in the story. I would recommend this to anyone who likes steampunkiness. I liked the originality of this series. It was different from the normal things that I read which was a welcomed change for me.
Mila is so sassy and snarky. I love a strong fmc. I liked that the guys weren't already a complete formed harem. I loved watching Wade make his place within the group. Seeing how all of the characters grow together and face their challenges was a sight to read. The pacing was great. I didn't feel like I had to push myself through any of it nor did I have to skim.
"No time to go over our past traumas since we got locked up. You've been collecting dick like the gods were getting rid of that instead of technology."
Reset is the final book in the "Forgotten Prison" series, and what a final it is... I truly loved it from start to finish; the characters, the action, the development of the story, the unexpected twists and turns, ..., that ending! These authors just keep on making the fictional lives of their characters harder and harder along the way, like some twisted test to see what will finally make them break.
I'm not sure if I'm entirely ready to say goodbye to these characters. I lost a piece of my heart to Mila and her men, and especially Wade will always be one of those characters that sticks with me, no matter how many books I read. This is definitely a series I want to recommend to everyone, especially when you're a fan of dystopian fantasy stories.
Mila and her men are back, and this time the fate of the world depends on them. They will have a battle on their hands now that the real enemies are being exposed. The citizens are going to see they’ve been under the boot heel of a corrupt government, and it will be up to the group to restore the balance. The task won’t be able to be completed without facing danger, and not everyone can come out unscathed. For every danger they face, you can feel their love and support of one another and their mission—the good of the people. For as focused on their mission as they may be, they still find time to come together, and those moments of connection, comfort, and peace are not to be missed. I’m sad to say goodbye, but happy to have spent the time with this group.
So here is the final book in the series and man this book was the best. Mila is back with her men and they are on he run. They are also trying to find out where the computer hub is and are trying to bring down Lumen. There were so many twist and turns and shocking information. I mean I never even would have thought of those twist. Oh and Wade is not down and out. Which is a relief. Mila also gets help from the mother of the sea, now that was amazing and this also started the war. A lot of action and some steamy moments. This series was just amazing and brings you a lot of elements. So when I got to the end, I was in happy tears. This series is totally worth it.
I have so many words I'd love to use in regards to how I feel about this book/series but those will get me in trouble. Let me just say, I adore this series as a whole. It's unique yet relevant to the society of today. Reset ties up all the loose ends and provides the perfect ending to the series. I love Mila and all of her guys. There are still numerous twists to come that I really didn't expect. It's action packed with so much happening and the steamy bits were delicious. I'm sad to see the end of this series!
I Give this Book a 3.5-4/5 Star Rating, Listing as 4.
HEA(?): Yes Relationship Type: RH> Reverse Harem - MMMMFMM M/M(?): Yes. Romance: 4/5 Dark(?): No to me, no. Heat: 3.5-4/5, While there is heat, it’s not the focus in this book. What is being focused on is what the storyline has been gearing up to. Drama: 4-4.5/5 Pacing: it does read a bit faster paced than the previous books, but enjoyed the ending very much. mid-fast. Suspense: 4-4.5/5
A bit to fast. Several issues where not resolved. Some just glossed over and the ending needed a bit more explanation. Did she get that role? How? Did her status change? I don’t know and the series is over 🤷🏻♀️Me and this book just did not click.
As for a series I liked the first two books the best, after that it went a bit downhill. All in all not a bad series. Am I sorry I read it, absolutely not. Will I reread it? No.
This is the fourth and final book in The Forgotten series and I have to say, I have loved them all! This is such an amazing book and series! I love Mila, her guys, and all their sexiness! I also love the action and the intrigue of the story. I devoured this book in no time at all and now am so sad it’s over.
Epic conclusion!!! There towards the end I was really worried the authors had done me dirty. I should have known better than to doubt them. Our little demigods are all grownup and pretty darn kickass! This series was just such a good mix of sci-fi, mythos, and the paranormal. Just a fantastic job! 💜
Wow! This final installment of The Forgotten was as excellent as the preceding three. Loving the characters and the entire concept of humanity's dive into degradation, greed and ignorance in a post apocalyptic society created in fantastic world building and plot development - this series is a brilliant read for something 'out of the box'. Mila and her boys are compelling characters you've gotta love and it was satisfying to see them dish out justice.
Absolute 5 star read for this book and an overall 6 star read for the series.
I truly enjoyed the series. Just wish there was more information on Amelia's powers and what happened at the end. Other than that - I absolutely loved the characters and plots and hope there's more with Thaddeus' own story soon - he totally deserves a happy ending.
Finally! the last book delivered so much more than the previous 3. While it still wasn't "amazing" for me it got me interested enough that I read it a lot quicker than the others. It still reads a little like a soap opera with the twists but it was still entertaining.
Series could have been done in 3 books. It struggled to keep my attention. Sexy scenes in book 3 & 4 got repetitive and never got the whole group scene that was teased for 3 books! Disappointing

This is the last book in the Forgotten Prison series. Mila and her men are about to face the biggest enemy and the weight of the world is on their shoulders. This book was fast pace and I loved the ending.
