Every once in awhile, and very rarely for me, a book comes along that just absolutely leaves you breathless. As someone who always, and I do mean always, knows how she feels about a book, and just what to say about the characters and storyline, I found Snake and Naomi's book leaving me absolutely speechless. In fact, I've taken two full days since finishing it to digest and figure out what I wanted to say. It's THAT good.
First, let me say if you haven't read the other two books in this series, Escaping Conviction (Book 1) or Fighting Conviction (Book 2), go read them. It isn't necessary to the overall storyline, but it'll help fill in gaps and give you a much better understanding of the overall story arc and the side characters.
Breaking Conviction is a book about choices. It's a book that asks you to look inside yourself and decide 'when is enough, enough'? This book forces you to look at the tough choices we have all had to make, though not all of us will ever find ourselves in Naomi's shoes, and to admit that we've all made mistakes. The true measure of our worth is in how we come back from those mistakes, how we rectify them, how we move on. I enjoyed Naomi's character growth, and her strength, her backbone, her feistiness. I loved watching her strive to do the right thing by Thea, and loved that no matter what, her daughter came first.
Side note: Thea is the absolute cutest little girl, and I loved her so much. Her character was written beautifully, and was an integral part of the story, which I find so often lacking in books where the author writes in a child's character. It often feels as if they're pushed off to the wayside. That was not the case with this story, and that was refreshing.
Wes (Snake) has been a man whose story I've wanted since book 1, though let's be honest, I WANT THEM ALL (cough, cough Greer, I'm looking at you here). Ms. Rivers definitely did not disappoint. This man was PHOENOMINAL. He was the kind of guy you can only HOPE you fall for in real life, and he's the guy you know that if you are lucky enough to find, you better never let him go. Caring, kind, loving, with a darker, bad-boy side that lets you know you're forever safe and protected in his arms. AKA: My perfect man.
The hints of mystery, intrigue, and the overall plotline of this story makes for a book that I couldn't put down and absolutely DEVOURED inside of 4-5 hours without so much as taking a 5 minute break. Greer has built such an amazing world, with characters who seem so real you want to be besties in real life, and men that make you swoon. The spice is ON POINT, but doesn't take up so much of the book that it becomes repetitive, and Wes and Naomi's chemistry is so combustible that I found myself practically screaming at them to "JUST DO IT ALREADY!"
If you've read this far, I thank you. Overall, five stars just isn't enough, but it's all I get to give, so honestly, if you haven't already found yourself addicted to the world of the Blackstone men, dive on in. It doesn't disappoint, I promise, and then you can come find me, and we'll be immediate besties and talk all things EC, FC, and BC together, because book besties are the best besties.

I found Greer Rivers on TikTok and was instantly intrigued by this series and knew I needed to read them!
This story line is incredible. It gives you glimpses of characters from the previous two books.
The MC Naomi is in a relationship with the father of her child and it’s an abusive relationship. Major trigger warnings for Domestic Violence. It brings awareness to the realness of what women go through in an abusive relationship.
Naomi meets Snake/Wes and their chemistry is amazing! He helps her in so many ways. He is kind, smart, funny with a hint of bad boy and I’ll do anything to protect you!
There is spice!! And the kitchen scene 🥵
There isn’t so much that it overtakes the plot but it is still great!
I love naomi’s character development and to watch her spark come back as she takes control back over her and her daughter’s lives.
The way that Wes treats Naomi and Thea is incredibly precious! King, Queen, and Princess status!!
And THAT ENDING 😳 I did NOT see that coming!!!

He has been hunting the wrong villains, and now Naomi is caught in the crossfire. She can’t know how broken he truly is, about the rage he keeps buried deep. Or that the nightmares that haunt him from his past are her current reality. She fears she’s the damsel trapped by the villain in her story, but she’s his queen. And it’s time she breaks free.
Naomi feels trapped by her villain. Every time she feels she can escape, the chains around her tighten and her hope fades. She’s made mistakes, trusted the wrong man, and now she’s paying the price. Snake wants to help her run, but he doesn’t know how truly caged she is. Fear keeps her frozen, unable to escape her living nightmare. He worries that he’s a monster, ruined by his past. But he’s her knight. And it’s about time she finally breaks free.
I honestly didn’t think any of the MF7 boys would beat Devil as being my favorite, but holy hell, Snake is everything!! I was expecting Draco/Drake to be my favorite guy, but it’s going to be really hard to top Snake/Wes. The character development in this book was amazing. Not only with Naomi, but also with Snake. Naomi went from thinking she was the damsel in her story, to being the one that helped herself and others like her break free. Snake went from holding in demons from his past in the form of rage, to finding the light missing from his light in the form of Naomi and her fiery daughter, Thea. I loved how quickly Thea took to Snake, even after living in the same house as an abuser like her father. As always with this author, the story/plot was amazing and it had me on the edge of my seat. Greer is quickly becoming my favorite Romantic Suspense author. While this book/series is not heavy in the spicy department, the plot is so good I hardly even notice. This book is, in my opinion, the spiciest in the series(so far). This is book 3 in the Conviction series, an interconnected standalone series. Each book ends with an HEA for the couple, however the plot continues throughout each book. So I recommend reading the books in order.

I finished this book almost a week ago and it took me this long to write a review because the book was that amazing. I have read this series since book one, and let me tell you, it gets better and better EVERY DAMN BOOK. Although this book can be read as a standalone, I would highly recommend reading the two books before it to truly understand the masterpiece that this is. Rivers does a flawless and meticulous job at seamlessly combining and overlapping each character's story among this series. It's like getting bits and pieces of the whole story. So adding them together to get the full picture is just amazing and so rewarding.
I will be honest, I had mixed feelings going into this book. I was OBSESSED with Devil and Ellie and felt like I wanted more of them. I didn't want to read another story about another couple. But boy did I learn how wrong I was. I got sucked in from the start with Wes (Snake) and Naomi's painful, beautiful, gut wrenching, and overall amazing relationship. I once again fell in love with the characters, their storylines, their backgrounds, their convictions, their GROWTH, just everything. I am solely in love with these books just because of the personal level of connection I feel with the characters alone.
Let's get to the actual book. Again, this perfectly weaves the amount of action, sex, romance, and awareness into one story. I got so captivated by the story and plot lines that I forgot there were elements of SEX in this book. But, I will let you in on a secret....the sex scenes are *chef's kiss* I just want to eat them up. I have nonstop been thinking about this book and the series.
I cannot wait to see what the next book has in store. This one really threw me with the twists and turns and I loved every second of it. Rivers writes so beautifully and naturally. It's hard to savor this book when you just want to devour it one sitting. Do yourself a favor and read ALL of the books in the series. This book alone will have you crying, swooning, and overall just in love with the crew. I just wish I could read the series for the first time again.

I found Greer on Tiktok and read her first and second book before getting the ARC copy to this book.
I am so in love with this book.
Naomi the MC has a daughter from a previous relationship. Her previous relationship was an abusive one.
This brings out awareness to the real side/emotions that women in abusive relationship go through.
Naomi is such a strong female character for all the shit she goes through not mention how strong she has to be for her daughter.
The growth of her character is amazing.
I felt so many emotions reading this book. There are not many books that can make me feel this much. This book had an amazing storyline.
Snake the male MC IS *chef’s kiss* He is a man that makes you feel comfort and protected in his arms. The way he treats Thea and Naomi from the beginning.He is book boyfriend material.
Also I loved how quickly Thea warmed up to Snake.They were written so beautifully.
The chemistry between Naomi and Snake.

Wow! The plot continues to thicken… This series is a complex, intricate story that will keep you on the edge of your seat & the wheels in your head turning.
Naomi & Wes’ installment is equal parts heartbreaking and endearing. I don’t think I’ve ever been so invested in a relationship from the first chapter as I was with these two. Wes drew me in during book 2, so I was rooting for him already. Plus, he’s totally swoonworthy 😍
There were many parts of this story that were difficult for me to read due to the violent nature (domestic violence). And, as always, Greer’s writing blows my mind. Her legal background allows her to add details that enhance the story that much more. Looking forward to book 4!

This was my first time reading any of Greer Rivers books. Even though I had not read her first two books I was able to keep up with the storyline. Now after saying that, let me tell you I have become a fan and want to read the first two books and the new ones to come. The way she gives you the survivors of domestic abuse point of view; it gives you a different way to think about it. I loved reading about Snake and Naomi. I don't want to say to much and give it away but she will have you laughing, crying, and jumping for joy. If you give just one of her books a chance you won't regret it and you too will become a fan wanting more!

I read the first book in this series a few months ago and was immediately hooked. I was ready for the second one when it came out and was eagerly awaiting this one. If you’re worried this one won’t live up to the hype, let me assure you that it will. The action really accelerates in this book and I cannot believe I have to wait three more months for the next one.
I will not be giving any spoilers away because that’s just not fair.
Breaking Conviction (Book 3) follows Wes (Snake) and Naomi. Wes is trying to find clues to the human trafficking ring they’re looking to bust up and Naomi is trying to figure out what to do about her abusive fiance. The book opens with the same scene that occurs in chapter 2 of Fighting Conviction (Book 2), where Devil and Ellie are at Sasha Saves to meet a survivor (Naomi) and her daughter (Thea).
Naomi feels stuck with her fiance because frankly, he’s a narcissistic asshole who has isolated her and made her feel beholden to him. She also feels like she has to stay because they have a child together. Much like real life, he keeps promising to change and she keeps hoping he’ll go to therapy and everything will get better.
Also much like real life, that doesn’t happen. But the crew at Sasha Saves convinces her to volunteer so that she can build a support system.
Many moments of this book are tense. There was a scene I waited to read for two days because I just didn’t wasn’t prepared. (Rivers is good about trigger warnings, but if you haven’t guessed yet, domestic violence and verbal abuse are major elements of Naomi’s home life.)
Naomi’s story is incredibly complex, but under it all, she’s trying to do what she believes is best for her daughter. She’d do anything for Thea, and when push comes to shove, mama bear comes out in full force.
Wes is … really great. Smart as a whip, he takes care of the tech stuff. At his core, he’s an incredibly empathetic person, but he has a rough past that he believes has made him a monster.
I was fascinated by the pacing of the novel because it felt like it was moving rather quickly too early in the book -- I don’t mean the romance, I mean the plot points. Like… there was still half of the book left. But holy crap is this book packed. Rivers keeps you guessing as the characters are pushing and pulling you in all directions.
The final 25% of this book shook me.
When I tell you I gasped and also stifled a yell (so as not to wake my family at 1:00am) and gripped my Kindle for dear life (so as not to chuck it across the room), I mean it with every fiber of my BEING.
Looking back, I can see the foreshadowing in the first 2 books for the plotlines that unfold in book 3. It’s quite brilliant actually -- things that didn’t seem significant (to me anyway) prove themselves to be quite important.
Rivers isn’t out here slinging books out as fast as she can without regard to continuity -- she’s creating an epic story about finding your chosen family, learning how to love (both others and yourself), and figuring out what true justice means.
There are obviously romantic elements to this series, but at the heart of it is the Blackstone team. Each of them is trying to figure out what justice means to them and how they can find it in an imperfect justice system.
I loved this book. I loved Naomi’s story. I loved Thea’s wit. I loved Wes’ kind heart. You’ll figure out who the next hero is (*internal screaming*) and I, for one, cannot wait to see how his story unfolds.
If you haven’t started this series yet, I highly suggest reading it in order. While the couples in each book could be standalone in nature, the underlying suspense/crime plot would be very difficult to understand if you didn’t follow the series order. These books are tightly woven together.
If you’re into romantic suspense full of military heroes and strong, sassy heroines, you’ll love these books. Of course, mind your trigger warnings (domestic violence, verbal abuse, human trafficking, sexual assault. Check the front of the book for a list from Rivers, herself).

I will not be giving any spoilers away because that’s just not fair.
Breaking Conviction (Book 3) follows Wes (Snake) and Naomi. Wes is trying to find clues to the human trafficking ring they’re looking to bust up and Naomi is trying to figure out what to do about her abusive fiance. The book opens with the same scene that occurs in chapter 2 of Fighting Conviction (Book 2), where Devil and Ellie are at Sasha Saves to meet a survivor (Naomi) and her daughter (Thea).
Naomi feels stuck with her fiance because frankly, he’s a narcissistic asshole who has isolated her and made her feel beholden to him. She also feels like she has to stay because they have a child together. Much like real life, he keeps promising to change and she keeps hoping he’ll go to therapy and everything will get better.
Also much like real life, that doesn’t happen. But the crew at Sasha Saves convinces her to volunteer so that she can build a support system.
Many moments of this book are tense. There was a scene I waited to read for two days because I just didn’t wasn’t prepared. (Rivers is good about trigger warnings, but if you haven’t guessed yet, domestic violence and verbal abuse are major elements of Naomi’s home life.)
Naomi’s story is incredibly complex, but under it all, she’s trying to do what she believes is best for her daughter. She’d do anything for Thea, and when push comes to shove, mama bear comes out in full force.
Wes is … really great. Smart as a whip, he takes care of the tech stuff. At his core, he’s an incredibly empathetic person, but he has a rough past that he believes has made him a monster.
I was fascinated by the pacing of the novel because it felt like it was moving rather quickly too early in the book -- I don’t mean the romance, I mean the plot points. Like… there was still half of the book left. But holy crap is this book packed. Rivers keeps you guessing as the characters are pushing and pulling you in all directions.
The final 25% of this book shook me.
When I tell you I gasped and also stifled a yell (so as not to wake my family at 1:00am) and gripped my Kindle for dear life (so as not to chuck it across the room), I mean it with every fiber of my BEING.
Looking back, I can see the foreshadowing in the first 2 books for the plotlines that unfold in book 3. It’s quite brilliant actually -- things that didn’t seem significant (to me anyway) prove themselves to be quite important.
Rivers isn’t out here slinging books out as fast as she can without regard to continuity -- she’s creating an epic story about finding your chosen family, learning how to love (both others and yourself), and figuring out what true justice means.
There are obviously romantic elements to this series, but at the heart of it is the Blackstone team. Each of them is trying to figure out what justice means to them and how they can find it in an imperfect justice system.

I forgot to post my review bc I work in healthcare so here’s the nitty gritty: Greer fucking slayed—this book was an escape I needed from reality after 10 hr shifts.
Naomi, Wes (aka Snake), HOT DAMN. I love spice, a little flavor (if you know what I mean) but not so much that I feel like the book is over seasoned. This book—perfectly seasoned. Not only that, but you can see the technical side in the writing being woven so well. Not gonna lie, I wanted more butttt I won’t be too selfish. Also, I usually seriously hate it when kids are in these kinds of books but Thea was a doll and I didn’t mind at all. I sometimes feel like, as a mom, that kids are written too poorly but that didn’t happen in this book. A standing ovation all around. Now, give me more—-thanks.

Breaking Conviction is the third book in the Conviction series by Greer Rivers. You need to read Escaping Conviction and Fighting Conviction before you read Breaking Conviction. While you will still enjoy the story if you do not read the first two, there are crucial introductions to some of the team, history that may leave you feeling like you've missed out, and obviously two spicy stories that you shouldn't miss out on.

In Breaking Conviction, you actually overlap timelines with Fighting Conviction. You're first introduced to Snake and Naomi from Ellie's perspective when Naomi comes into Sasha Saves. In past books, Greer has written about human trafficking, sexual assault, murder, etc. This book takes a different route and, while they still talk about trafficking, trauma, and assault, this book looks at the relationship with domestic violence. I would highly recommend proceeding with caution. While I personally have not been physically assaulted, I still had some triggers from the emotional manipulation. I've also been around survivors my entire life and this story brought back some memories that weren't pleasant. That being said... do not shy away from this book based on that. If you are a survivor and want to avoid it, I understand. However, this is an educational experience and eye-opening to both the survivor perspective and the volunteer support perspective.
Now, for what we are really here for. Snake is part of an elite group of ex-military men that created a security firm, that has been focusing on human trafficking in their area. He's the tech guy of the group and a total Superman type guy. You know he's hot, wears glasses, saves the day... Yea. Superman. Naomi is an assistant to the CEO of a major company and mother to Thea, the coolest little princess. When Naomi and Snake meet, it's not under good circumstances. However, Thea immediately bonded with Snake, made him watching Brave, and dubbed him and Naomi the King and Queen.
To prevent spoilers, I'm going to be vague here and not talk specifically about the storyline (which is Ah-Mazing). Naomi's character is a beautiful soul who has lost herself. Snake has a history of his own that makes him protective. This book is more of a protective alpha trope, while Naomi is giving off a mild enemies-to-lovers vibe. Snake steps up to the plate and proves himself trustworthy while breaking down Naomi's walls, and the whole process turns attraction into a real connection. And no surprise, the spice is top-shelf. I'll never think about caramel chocolate chip cookies the same again.
Greer Rivers is a wonderful romance author that knows how to write characters in the same universe, that are all interconnected, but totally different in every way. You think you will know the characters but you will be surprised as the character development unfolds. The relationships are distinctly different and all of them are spicy and satisfying. Greer gives the best "happy-ever-afters" while leaving the reader aware there's another book coming, but not frustrated with a cliffhanger. I know there's a fourth book coming out, and very much excited for the continuation of this universe, and seeing another couple's relationship blossom.

♡♡♡5 stars for Wes & Naomi and their ability to build love through times of incredible stress!♡♡♡
Greer Rivers depiction of a person trapped in a relationship with elements of domestic violence is spot on, and shows how frequently it can happen to women anywhere.
Naomi is a woman with a heart of gold, doing the best she can to keep her daughter safe, and raise her with a father figure in her life. This time though, she's been pushed too far. She thought Dean was going to kill her. When she gets to Sasha Saves though, and is confronted with the possibility of finally getting help - she finds herself lying to them. She can't figure out why! She just knows that if Dean ever found out, it would be so much worse for her!!
When Snake (Wes) walks in to update the security system in Sasha Saves, he is at once both attracted and repelled by Naomi. He's seen this too often: the woman that comes for help and then goes straight back to her abuser, and Snake does not have the patience for it. But when a four year old that has been terrified by everyone else asks him to watch a movie with him, he finds himself inexplicably drawn to both of them.
There is SO MUCH going on in this book! Nora is still watching over Draco daily, as he rests in his comatose state after being shot at the end of Stealing Conviction, something is up with Phoenix that no one can figure out - mostly they just think he's still ragging on Wes for the failure they experienced as MF7 in Yemen, but is that all it really is?? And they're still trying to take down the a$$holes involved in trafficking women at the once a year parties held by Ashland Inc.
The spicy scenes between Wes and Naomi once they finally both realize what they want are OVER THE TOP HOT - that kitchen scene? Just dang!!🔥🔥🔥 On top of that the suspense of hunting down the traffickers, keeping Naomi safe, wondering HOW LONG it was going to take the guys to realize Naomi and Thea were in a life threatening situation kept me going back and forth between tossing my kindle and turning the page to see if they figured it out yet!
I won't lie, this book kind of ends on a cliffhanger with big changes between the couple in the next book, a rat in the midst of Blackstone Securities, and more, but we're lucky Ms. Rivers never makes us wait too long!! Go grab Breaking Conviction NOW, you need this 5 star treat in your bed... I mean kindle!

Wes (Snake) and Naomi are amazing. Naomi is in an abusive relationship with the father of her daughter. She stays because they have a child and she wants that family for her daughter, but their relationship ends up putting her in touch with Sasha Saves after he gets especially violent one day. Unfortunately it’s not quite enough, but Naomi draws a line that day - if he crosses it she’ll be gone, but she still wants a family for her daughter. But after she meets Wes at Sasha Saves, and then sees him more and more as she volunteers for them, she realizes that maybe sticking in a bad situation just for the sake of a family isn’t what she needs. Wes is immediately drawn to Naomi. He doesn’t understand why she stays with an abusive partner, and he immediately gets wrapped around her adorable four year old daughter’s finger. All he can do is be there for her and hope that she’ll make the right choice. The chemistry between them is palpable, but Naomi is torn. The perfect words, the light touches, the caring and kindness she gets from Wes are great, but she’s completely stuck on the idea of her daughter having a relationship with her dad, that she keeps pushing him away. It feels like such a realistic and honest depiction of how someone can get caught up in a situation like that and feel like they need to make it work, despite the warning signs. Even when things finally do start to happen with Naomi and Wes, it’s a slower progression. But their feelings can’t be denied forever, and when they give in, it’s golden.
The over-arching story through the series, the human trafficking mystery, continues - and Naomi actually ends up more involved than you might think she would be. There is still plenty of mystery, lots of unknown players, and surprise betrayals. This part of the story continues to be compelling, and the team working together in the background to figure it out is straight fire. It’s awesome to see the couples from the previous book, overprotective Jay and very pregnant Jules, and the amazing Devil and Ellie. Devil is still my favorite so far, but Wes gave him a run for his money in this book, for sure. We’re left with an HEA for Naomi and Wes, and an intriguing set up for the next book in the series, which I am excited for.

Y’all! This book. This was the first book I’ve read by Greer Rivers. I plan on reading the first two in the series at some point but even not reading them I was able to follow the storyline of Naomi and Wes. I don’t normally read books in third person, but this one was amazing! I’m officially on the Greer Rivers fan train.
Naomi is an amazing woman, and an even better mom. Her unwavering love for her daughter is her strength, and it’s something you don’t see enough in books. Wes gives you the silent but deadly vibe, and the fact that he was nerdy with blue hair was enough for me to love him as is. His instant need to protect her from their first meeting gave me all the butterflies.
Naomi is in an abusive relationship, one where she doesn’t feel that she can escape from yet. When things turn ugly and she nearly loses her life at her abuser’s hands, she finds a place for her and her daughter to go. A safe place, for people like her – a place called Sasha Saves. She also makes herself a promise that day. Throughout the book, you watch Naomi become a part of the team, helping women (and men) like her. Survivors. You watch as she finds her strength enough to leave her abusive life, you watch her fall in love for real, and you watch her become a true badass. I loved everything about Naomi, and Wes was the perfect guy for her. She pushes him away for a bit because she wants her daughter to have a relationship with her father, but it makes up for lost time once she finally gives into her feelings for him.
The plot twist at the end of this book is insane! I had a hunch, but never anything to convince me fully. The trafficking element of the story continues to grow and unlock more secrets, and Naomi surprisingly ends up more involved than you’d expect. The mystery of this book is amazing! Even after getting the details, I still don’t have a hunch as to who’s behind it all really. This book keeps you on your toes for sure! When I read the synopsis, it sounded so intriguing. It exceeded my expectations!

Well, she’s done it again! Greer kept me on the edge of my seat this entire book! The main storyline continues from the previous two books, and I HAVE THEORIES!! As soon as you read this, I’m going to need all the DM’s to chat about them! I also want to punch a character in the face! I even saw it coming and it STILL made me want to throw my Kindle!
As for the sub-story in this one, it was amazing. Naomi’s story was written with care and compassion and was so well done. Little Thea definitely steals the show a few times and was incredibly adorable and resilient! Domestic violence is featured heavily throughout Naomi’s story and through Sasha Saves, and it was given the respect that the topic deserves. I also love that therapy plays a part in several character’s lives. It’s so important to know that it’s okay to seek help when you need it.
Moving on to Wes and Naomi…FIRE! Straight fire! Wes gives off the “touch her and I’ll, well…you know”, vibes while also saying “you’re always safe with me.” He was incredible with Thea and Naomi both! There’s nothing sexier than a man who’s good with kids! Thanks to Wes and Naomi, I will never look at cookies and caramel the same way!

Oh my gawd. Each book in this series gets better and better. I highly suggest reading the first two, Escaping Conviction (Book 1) and Fighting Conviction (Book 2), it helps piece together what is happening in this book and who everyone else in the story. The way Greer handles the sensitive and triggering topics such as domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault is done with so much respect and care, it is amazing.
Naomi's journey throughout this was beautifully done as she has to learn for herself what her own limits are and when enough is enough for herself. Wes, aka Snake, certainly helps her along the way in the encouragement and support that he gives her to make her own decisions regardless if he agrees with them or not. And speaking of Wes, oh that tattooed, sexy, computer nerd. You will never look or eat caramel and cookies the same way ever again after reading this book. Once both Naomi and Wes finally gave into each other, oooohhhh worth the slower burn between these two!
Very rarely have romance books made me smile stupidly, but this one did all because of how Wes talks to and treats Naomi and her daughter Thea, who is the most adorable little girl.
I was however not prepared for the twists that got thrown, and they hurt my heart, but were done beautifully for the story. I know when to appreciate well placed and done plot twists, and Greer Rivers certainly knows how to do them. I cannot wait for the next one! I have a sneaky suspicion who it will be about and I am so excited for it!

Once both Naomi and Wes finally gave into each other, oooohhhh worth the slower burn between these two!
Very rarely have romance books made me smile stupidly, but this one did all because of how Wes talks to and treats Naomi and her daughter Thea, who is the most adorable little girl.
I was however not prepared for the twists that got thrown, and they hurt my heart, but were done beautifully for the story. I know when to appreciate well placed and done plot twists, and Greer Rivers certainly knows how to do them. I cannot wait for the next one! I have a sneaky suspicion who it will be about and I am so excited for it!

I haven’t had a book effect me this much in years.
One day Naomi walks into Sasha Saves Clinic to receive treatment and her life is changed forever. Forced to face the reality of her life she fights to make the both her and her daughter’s life better with the help of a man called Snake.
This story made me cry, a lot, and I loved it. Recently, I have read a lot of dark romances and I’ve never had a reaction as I’ve had with this book. The way Greer Rivers was able to make me feel what Naomi was feeling is both terrifying and magical. As someone who has been in an abusive relationship before I really felt and cried for Naomi knowing how hard it is to escape a situation like that.
Naomi is a strong character and mother who shows all too well that no matter how much you want something to be true, sometimes we just have to let go.
The words Wes spoke to Naomi, “make sure to put your oxygen mask on first,” will stick with me for the rest of my life. Wes is so supportive and so loving of Naomi and Thea and is there for them 100%. Him realizing that maybe he had more work to do on himself was refreshing. It’s okay if a man isn’t the perfect Prince Charming, he doesn’t exist, what matters is that he’s willing to continue work on himself.
The storyline that is continuing throughout the series is wonderfully and masterfully crafted and keeps me on the edge of my seat. I can not wait to dive into the next book.

Oh. Em. Gee. Just when I thought I could not be more obsessed with this series and Greer’s writing style, enter Breaking Convictions.
I love the way Greer develops characters over multiple books, just enough to keep the reader interested in a potential coupling, then boom. She leaves you breathless - amazing writing style, the best character development I’ve read in ages, and all the dark romance & suspense.
Beware, this book is not for the faint of heart, lots of heavy trigger warnings, but if you take the chance, you will not be disappointed. I’ve been waiting for Snake to get his HEA and Breaking Convictions absolutely blew that expectation out of the water. I loved how Greer integrated so much from Naomi’s past into her present and future, especially with Thea and how she interacts with Snake and takes up with him so effortlessly.
Breaking Convictions has got it all - nerdy, alpha male (without it being in your face cheesy), a heroine that is finally coming into her own, and all the Blackstone Security team goodness! I thought that Devil & Ellie were going to be favorite couple in the series, but Snake & Naomi may officially be taking that top spot.

Dare I say it… this may be the best book out of the series (so far)…? And trust me is devoured the 2nd book like nobodies business.
Each book in this series can be read as a standalone, but the stories and characters do interconnect so it’s definitely recommended by me to read in order. Trust me, I started with book 2 and was a bit confused but it’s definitely do-able!
I have been waiting for this book since I came across Greer on tiktok. I fell in love with Snake In “Fighting Convictions” and have been eagerly awaking his and Naomis story with bated breath!
These books definitely do not shy away from the hard to talk about topics such as domestic violence and human trafficking, and sexual assault. I found myself doing a lot of research on the topics after reading her books and honestly I’m in awe of the care she took with explaining everything with so much care and I honestly have so much respect for her tackling these conversations.
I absolutely loved learning more about the dynamic/relationship between Wes (Snake) and Naomi, we saw a glimpse of it in book 2 but to see everything in this book was an absolute pleasure 🐍💚
Definitely check your triggers but seriously it’s worth it.

Greer really took no corners with this story. It shows the inner working of the mind of a domestic violence survivor from her point of view. It was so well written that I had an understanding of why she was in her situation to begin with, but more importantly is the growth that she took to overcome her situation and take control back. Thank you for that Greer.
The story follows Wes aka Snake and Naomi journey to there HEA with returning characters from the first two books in the series. It a emotional story, but got just enough action and sassy/humour bits to break up the tension. Thea (4year old Princess) was also a very welcome addition to the story and pulls on the heart strings. The relationship development was wonderful to read.
Trigger in this book will definitely be Domestic Violence, but since it a follow up from the first two books in the series the concept and mention of sec trafficking is mentioned throughout the book.

This was probably my favorite book I read this month.
It will make you laugh, it will probably make you cry, it will frustrate the fuck out of you! But it will make you so happy in the end
This book was so well written when things would get intense my heart rate would shoot up as if I was there dealing with the drama.
It talks about some very upsetting topics, but WOW Greer does it so well- she does such a great job at touching on these subjects without it seeming insensitive it just hurts your heart to read this happening but makes it so much more satisfying when things work out for everyone.
And OH man the spice??? SO good. Cookies with caramel have never sounded so damn good 🤤
Overall this book gets a solid 10/10 would recommend. If you love drama filled action packed romance novels with spice this book is for you! Definitely can be read as a stand alone but I’d say read the first two first! The overarching themes of the books do come together within the plots of all of them so it can be a bit difficult to follow if you haven’t read the first two but again Greer does a pretty good job at explaining what’s going on. But trust me- you don’t want to miss out on Escaping Conviction and Fighting Conviction!!

Greer Rivers did it again! She slayed Snake and Naomi’s story. Greer always had a unique way of pulling me into her story and this book was no exception.
Naomi came into the series in the end of Escaping Conviction, because of her need for Sasha Save’s. Her relationship with her “fiancé” was certainly volatile and her need to protect her daughter was fierce. I got frustrated with her thought process because I knew from experience all her, for lack of a better word, “excuses.” I loved watching her grow and become the BAB she was.
Wes, or his call sign Snake, feared for Naomi because of his own past traumas. His interaction with Thea were amazing and so cute. Lots of steamy frustration between the two. The caramel scene was 🥵🔥🥵🔥
Princess T was adorable and brought lots of laughs. Her obsession with Brave was a great addition to the book. Nora is still my favorite and I can’t wait for her book, really hoping it’s next 🙏

Breaking Conviction is the third installation in Greer Rivers' Conviction Series. It is technically a stand-alone but it is recommended to be read in order as the storylines intertwine with one another.
I do not typically read dark romance but I enjoyed this particular novel. Rivers packs an emotional punch with the opening. Naomi enters a domestic violence asylum clinic with her daughter and meets the crew of Sasha Saves. Her daughter is immediately taken with Wes...or Snake, the sexy IT guy who also doubles as an agent who works to save sex traffic survivors. We immediately are introduced to Naomi's dilemma of leaving her abusive fiancee and for those who may not understand a survivor's experience, it actually allows one to consider things from the survivor's standpoint. It gives perspective in such an eloquent way. Naom's need to emulate her parent's relationship and to have the perfect family for her daughter is her motivation to stay with the monster she calls a fiancee. It's refreshing and enlightening.Right off the bat, Noami and Wes develop a flirtationship. He says the funniest things to get her fiesty but also respects her need for space. And it appears that Wes has a past in which his father was very similar to Naomi's ex-fiancee. It's nice that Naomi has someone who understands her situation enough to give her the advice and comfort she needs. It becomes even better after Naomi finally breaks free from Dean in not 1 but 2 emotional and stressful scenes. The whole teasing of steamy scenes throughout this book was unreal. The pair keeps getting interrupted by missions or Dean or even Wes's partners... LIke come on,,, even they should have known they were cock blocking. Sheesh. Although that kitchen scene....chef's kiss. (Pun intended).As if Rivers doesn't already have enough positives, she gives her readers POV from Dean-Naomi's fiancee. I was quite intrigued by this development and come to find out he works for the organization that kidnaps these women and sells them into slavery. Whether he's aware of the operation or not, it all starts to make sense why an ex-cop has such great benefits at a security company. The desperation and denial from this man were unreal and I honestly love a story where our villain gets a perspective to share. We keep getting a sense that Dean's security company is always one step ahead of the boys. Turns out, there's a mole, and I was saddened to find out that it was Phoenix. This character and Wes did not get along due to a failed mission in the past but the guy clearly has PTSD and other mental health struggles. It's clear that he would not have been reliable and I'm sad that he was a target for these people to get a mole on the inside. I was rooting for this guy to make up with Wes and get the help he needs... Turns out he crosses over to the dark side and for what? A confused sense of what is right and wrong? I feel like I'm gonna need more explanation in the next book.
My final notes are that I really did enjoy this dark romance. The dialogue wasn't cheesy and River's paints a great picture. The slow burn between Noami and Wes was so cute and I am pleased with their relationship development. One of my qualms is that we didn't get much action from the rescue mission about halfway through the book. I was looking forward to the action and possibly development of how the Blackstone team operates but it was simply brushed over. What was even more disappointing is that Ellie was kidnapped and it's mentioned as background detail. It all seemed random and underdeveloped.The best thing the author did in this book is use the word "survivor". She illustrated an abusive relationship and followed through with how difficult it would be to move forward, the process of getting or giving support. She wrote that these women (and some men) are not victims, they are survivors. It is a wonderful perspective that I am sure is appreciated across the board. Rivers also provides resources similar to Sasha Saves and other hotlines for readers to utilize in their actual lives. She provides excellent disclaimers, messages, and proper jargon. Definitely will be continuing this series to the end.

When we were first introduced to this potential couple in book two I was really hoping that the third book would be about them. Thankfully it was and I loved seeing their story.
If you haven’t read book one and two, they aren’t necessarily needed to enjoy this book, this book does end with a happily ever after. However, in order to understand the overarching plot and mystery as well as get a little bit of a background on the side characters, I highly recommend reading the first two books. They will definitely enrich your reading experience when reading this one and as this series progresses.
I think this book had a good balance between the romance and the overall mystery. New key players were introduced and old ones were brought back. Some of the characters ended up being pretty surprising so I’m looking forward to see how that plays out. When reading the book I was really hoping for book four to be about a certain couple and it looks like it will be and I could not be happier. I am very much looking forward to the next book.
In regards to this book, it was a tragic story that thankfully had a happy ending. If you have a trigger towards domestic violence, do not read this book. I think the author did a great job showing how hard it is to escape and the mentality surrounding it. Especially when there is a child involved, like this book. I think seeing the female main character overcome her situation, rebuild her life and become the strong woman she is was very empowering. As well, I completely loved the interactions with her daughter, she was adorable and very funny. Add in her romance and it was a very well rounded book.

Breaking Conviction by Greer Rivers is the 3rd installment in the Conviction series. It's a standalone but I recommend reading the first two books for it to make more sense and for better experience.
The story just keeps getting more interesting and better with each book to be honest.
What can I say? I loved Devil and Ellie together so much that I wanted more and I still do. But this book was great too I'm in love with Snake he's so sweet, as for Naomi I had mixed feelings about her I love her yes but she annoyed me sometimes especially when she found out what wess did to Ascot. And this line just made me nuts “But, what about you, huh? Can we be safe with you?”
Like seriously? Fuck off Naomi he's been nothing but protective of her and her child he did nothing wrong.
At the same time I understand that she's been in a toxic relationship and suffered from domestic violence for a long time to the point she's traumatized.
Then there's Thea sweet little angel, I loved this kid I wanna a baby like her. 😂
I loved this book and I totally recommend this series because it's Amazing. Y'all should read it asap.

Snake and Naomi were excellently written characters. Their individual development was authentic as was their relationship development. I’m being picky here but several things made this book difficult to really get into.
1. The southern twangs. This is a personal book ick for me, and I’m from the south! Reading dialogue written in twang makes the characters “sound” unintelligent.
2. Thea on the tablet 24/7. I have kids and I give them tablets but she’s on it in almost every scene. No way would Snake or Naomi send her to her daycare unless that had filed a police report and informed the Daycare that Dean was no longer allowed to come for her.
3. The plot line about the human trafficking. I felt like this whole other side story and situation (which I know ties in) was written poorly. The details of what exactly Dean does for a living and what exactly Snake and Company do was vague and left me feeling confused for a majority of the book.
4. The amount of characters who had names and call names left my head spinning trying to follow them around. I also felt like so many characters were mentioned by name multiple times throughout the book but never had any development in the story. For example, the lawyer Snake and Company are friends with could have just been called “the lawyer” because I kept forgetting who was who to who.

I can't wait for the next book to come out to see what happens next. I was emotionally invested in Naomi and Wes with just how they progressed through the story with one another. I have not found many authors that can write about trauma and blend it so eloquently. By reading the quote at the beginning of the book, I know that this story will touch people's lives. I enjoyed reading about Naomi and Thea's relationship and how they rely upon one another. They have built a silent communication understanding the situation.
Thea maybe four and boss, but she knows that her mom is hurting, and it's not ok. For Wes to treat another man's child as his own with so much love and respect has my heart. It made me go on an emotional roller-coaster ride. I was feeling all the feels. That's when you know you have found a fantastic book if it can keep you emotionally invested in the story. I cannot wait to read more about the rest of the series when they come out.
Greer Rivers is one of my favorite independent authors. I read and fell in love with "Escaping Conviction, A Tempting Motion." If I could, I would gladly give this book more than five stars. I received this book as an ARC for an honest review, and I love this book.

This book has it all!! Loved the suspense so much. The Royal Family will fill your heart with sexy sassy adorableness
Naomi is a sassy strong woman currently in a relationship with a violent manipulative man. She’s seen love between her father and mother so she thinks if she stays she might be able to give her daughter the same type of family. You go on an adventure with her deciding when to draw her line in the sand. You want to scream and cry and cheer for her throughout the book.
During all of this Blackstone Security are still working on taking down a group of sex traffickers. Blackstone Security is on a mission to take them down and the rollercoaster ride !!!! So many surprises and questions !! Wes also known as Snake is the resident tech specialist. He knows he wants to keep his team safe and find the traffickers he gets frustrated knowing there’s more digging he needs to do. When Naomi comes along he has to face his own past. Has he really beaten all his demons ? Can he protect Naomi,Thea, and get answers ?!? Loved this book definitely will reread again and again !!!!

Another amazing, emotional and suspenseful read in this series.
I love the way these books overlap without repetition, each book giving a totally new POV.
Naomi’s life behind closed doors is where she suffers the most. And what stood out to me was the genuine portrayal of her working through this and finding the courage to break free. It wasn’t a quick or easy process and her behaviour, actions and defensiveness as well as everyone elses was so genuine.
It actually made me so frustrated at times and thats because it was such an accurate depiction of domestic violence survivors.
Her connection with Wes gave so much hope and love to this story. Seeing them build trust and they way he was with Thea had all the feels 🥰🥰🥰.
I am loving the overall suspenseful story in this series. Each book gives insight to each couples story/HEA and they all connect with the goal to take down a secretive organisation that deals in human trafficking.

TW: this book does require a trigger warning for domestic violence and sexual assault. Protect yourselves if you know you're sensitive. Greer also gives a TW which I LOVE because a lot of authors do not.
Amazing!! As usual! Greer did it again with another riveting plot and romance. I could NOT. PUT. IT. DOWN. I was useless for 2 days lol. The POV is exactly what I love to read, the characters are well developed and real. The romance isn't cringey and it's easy to get swept away in the emotions of it all. The plot is honestly my favorite, I'm obsessed with knowing what's happening next. My husband has to listen to me tell him all about it 😂 I love that Greer uses her knowledge of law, as well as real statistics within her books. The spice was just 😙🤌 for the scenes. These books ARE spicy but that's not the sole focus here. However the scenes that do exist would probably have gotten me pregnant if I wasn't already. 🥴
