In the middle of the night, Detective Ray Schiller is sent to a crime scene in downtown Minneapolis. For him, it's business as usual... grim business. Behind a defunct dry cleaning shop, an attractive young woman has been found dead inside her car.The victim's past is virtually a blank slate, but more recent events in her life turn Ray's attention in an intriguing direction. Unfortunately, Ray's assignment to the Libby Bates case proves fate can be as cruel as it is inevitable. His investigation puts him in the crosshairs of an enemy he didn't know existed.A seed of hatred, planted ten years earlier, has grown like a cancer. While Ray's pursuit of a murder suspect puts him in lethal danger, it's the consequence of a decade-old grudge that turns his world upside-down.The accusations are false. The hatred is real. The consequences are terrifying.
My wife likes to tell me I’m a tough customer when it comes to me saying I like something but Marjorie Doering’s Ray Schiller series makes me a very satisfied customer.
She not only writes good plots, with good and likeable characters and realistic dialogue, but she does it all with out profanity, sex, gore etc.
I can get the strong and intense emotions, without the f-word
She doesn’t even have to hint sex, like others do. Though she did it in earlier books.
I can go on why Ray Schiller books get a rare five, while others don’t, but if you like good n clean give Collision Course a read.
Sadly, after original posts I came to find out this is the last Ray Schiller book. The ending made me think it was, but I thought no 😱one of my favorites characters, gone?
Thanks Marjorie the world of books needs more characters like Ray Schiller
I was thrilled to find out there would be a seventh installment to this series. I have enjoyed the characters so much. It was an absolute joy to catch up with Ray and Dick. I hope to see them again in future works. Excellent!
