Daily Guideposts, America's bestselling annual devotional, is a 365-day devotional from the Editors of Guideposts that will help readers grow in their faith every day of the year.
Daily Guideposts 2022 centers on the theme "The Lord Is Near," based on Psalm 145:18, and is filled with brand-new devotions from fifty writers. Each day readers will enjoy a Scripture verse, a true first-person story told in an informal, conversational style, which shares the ways God speaks to us in the ordinary events of life, and a brief prayer to help focus the reader to apply the day's message. For those who wish for more, "Digging Deeper" provides additional Bible references that relate to the day's reading.
Enjoy favorite writers like Debbie Macomber, Edward Grinnan, Patricia Lorenz, Julia Attaway, Karen Valentin, Sabra Ciancanelli, Mark Collins, and Rick Hamlin.
In just five minutes a day, Daily Guideposts helps readers find the spiritual richness in their own lives and welcomes them into a remarkable family of over one million people brought together by a desire to grow every day of the year.
I was gifted this 2022 daily Guidepost last year. While sorting the read vs unread, I debated on reading this again. I found the audio on Hoopla and that was the avenue I chose this time. I do believe I could read or listen again and find where I had forgotten the daily message or feel like I had never heard it.
I chose to listen to one month every day, and that was too much. When I sit back and think about it, 5-7 days if doing the audio and focused would work for me. I have two Daily Guideposts from previous years, I'm going to listen to them.
While the 2022 was a gift and the book is beautiful, I'm donating it.
This was a rough year for my hubby and I. We were care givers to my dear dad for the past 2 -3 years and he was welcomed home 24 June. So many of the devotionals spoke to me every day.
This was a Christmas gift and it’s been giving all year long. The daily readings quickly became part of the start to our days. We thoroughly enjoyed the inspirational and devotional stories and messages.
I always enjoy the yearly Daily Guideposts books. I would say that a majority of the readings connect with me, in some way, but not all of them, which is why only four stars, but that still means, "I really liked it."
Some of the writers resonate with me more than others. My favorites are Marci Alborghetti (and that is a change in recent years . . . I didn't used to like her writings), Mark Collins, Shawnelle Eliasen (she might be my over-all favorite), Edward Grinnan (I believe he is the main editor), Rick Hamlin, Kim Taylor Henry, Ashley Kappel, Pam and Brock Kidd, Carol Knap, Carol Kuykendall, Ginger Rue, and there are probably one or two that I missed.
Each one of those people has written at least one entry that really resonated with me.
Each day's entry begins with a Scripture reference, is followed by the writer's thoughts, and finishes with a prayer, written by the writer, and then some further Scripture readings. Every now and then, they have a typo, and there's a verse reference that either doesn't exist at all (a chapter or verse that's just not there) or doesn't seem to be at all related to the subject at hand.
But I love the way it is presented. Oh, and at the end of each month, they feature a couple of pages of blank lines for the reader to include their own thoughts. Those pages include a heading that remains constant throughout the year. This year, it was "The Lord is Near." At some point, I started trying to make my thoughts line up with that heading.
2023's edition is now titled Walking in Grace 2023, instead of Daily Guideposts. I see no evidence that this changes the content. I have also looked ahead to see that the headings for the reader's thoughts is "Let Us Sing for Joy." I'm looking forward to this.
Guide Posts publications has offered positive and uplifting stories to its readers for decades and I looked forward to each day's thoughts. Unfortunately, unless one lives in the USA we international readers can no longer access the Daily Guidepost ebook - or any other publication from the Guide Posts shop - for reasons not fully explained. So, I will look elsewhere to find other devotional inspiration that includes the whole worlds readers. Pity.
Daily Guideposts 2022 is a publication of Guideposts. Each day is a page that will give you a faith filled thoughts and encouragement. A moment to think about your faith, to encourage you and remind you of what is important and that you are not alone. Not alone in your fears, worries, or joys God is always with you. Each month begins with a quote and ends with a place for thoughts or prayers. I got this in February but until I caught up I read two a day.
I always love these. One gets to know the contributors. I miss some that have moved on to other pursuits, but am learning to love the new ones. A nice short devotional each day with bible verses tied to the selection and a prayer for the day. A great start to my morning this year, though I have appreciated them in the evening in past years.
I have been doing these devotionals for a couple of years now, and I enjoy the daily reflections. They have changed the title for next year, but I know it will be the same inspirational messages I have come to love.
The guidepost devotional is always the 1st book I buy of the year and the 1st book I start. I've lost count of the number of years I've been reading this but I love the daily inspiration, the stories shared from the heart, the touching lessons. I get so much from this book!
Guide post has served as a source of Daily encouragement and positive inspiration Each day. God loves each and everyone of us and this resource helps to deepen our relationship with him.
This devotional book is quite a blessing! Filled with Scriptures and a personal reflection for each day of the year, I feel as if the writers are good friends, and sometimes can determine who the writer is before I look at the bottom of the page. I am looking forward to the 2023 edition.
Reading Daily Guideposts is a thoughtful way to begin the day. It allows me to take pause and reflect before delving into the day's activities, challenges, and obligations. It also encourages me to practice gratitude each day.
This is the best devotional series. After reading year after year, one becomes familiar with the writers and knows their lives. Great stories and lessons.
These short daily stories and devotions are truly a blessing to have. They help me yo fulfill a promise to myself to spend time with God on a daily basis.
