Yayyy! That was so good! Everyone needs to stop hating on Shige because I don’t think Shin would change a damn thing about him. He knows his boyfriend is a jealous perverted tease and he’s told him countless times that he loves him just the way he is. His personality is a major part of what makes this a great story and it would be boring if he acted any other way. It’s okay to enjoy a story without liking or agreeing with everything a MC does. I feel like a lot of yaoi/BL readers forget that (and is a reason I LOVE my mm romance community so much!!).

Anyway, what’s up with Tatara and Hanasaki? In regards to Shin, I cannot for the life of me figure out what their true feelings are, or if they themselves know. Tatara says he isn’t gay and doesn’t have feelings for Shin but every now and then he does something that has me scratching my head. And Hanasaki flirts with him constantly but I guess it's just friendly? Where is this boyfriend he keeps claiming to have? I need to lay eyes on him because I’m starting to doubt he’s even real!

Black or White und ich führen so eine Hass-Liebe. Das ist jetzt auch schon mein 2. Anlauf diese Reihe zu verfolgen. Und Band 5 hat mich echt überrascht.

Das liegt vor allem daran, dass hier keine Eifersüchteleien oder pushy Verhalten im Fokus stehen, die schon die ersten 4 Bände dominiert haben, sondern ein aufeinander zugehen.

Die Protagonisten mögen sich vielleicht charakterlich bisher nicht enorm entwickelt zu haben, doch könnte dieser Band ein Umschwung sein, dass sie lernen aneinander zu wachsen und sich zu unterstützen. Ich kann mir vorstellen, dass das Date, welches im Fokus des Bandes stand einiges vorangetrieben hat bzw. Ängste der beiden genommen. Wir dürfen gespannt sein, ob ich Recht behalte.

Aktuell schweben irgendwie noch so 2 ungeklärte / unaufgedeckte Nebenpairings im Raum, die ich sehr cool finde und bei denen ich auf folgende Entwicklungen ebenfalls gespannt bin.

I liked it overall. Had some nice development to Shin and Shige's relationship and was pretty cute and romantic. Probably the healthiest the relationship has been.
With that said, I wasn't sure what to make of Hanasaki, and I found it all a tad... anticlimactic. The volume felt like it was mostly just a bunch of people hanging out, and smut. Not much of a plot and low drama. I feel that the series overall lacks direction, but the messy romance is just entertaining enough.

I love how adorable Shin and Shige are trying to secretly date, along with all their friends and their agents trying to help them along.
That cliffhanger at the end of the last act though *panic.*

I'm honestly not a fan of the couple. I think Shin deserves better than Shige and I think Hanasaki is kinda meh?

But I'm also always into the manga that go into acting and I get easily invested in their careers and the fake shows they star in.

This was my favorite volume so far. I like the interactions between all the characters. Shige was also less of a weirdo, so hopefully he keeps getting better as the series progresses.

Impossible no pensar en Embracing Love, Vol. 1 per la dinàmica de dos actors que en certa manera són rivals, però aquesta sèrie és molt més wholesome i gens complicada ^^' Es tracta de dos actors que projecten una imatge completament diferent de com són en realitat i que fins ara han estat encasellats en un mateix tipus de rol (el morè fent de malvat i el ros fent de príncep). Són parella des de l'institut, viuen junts, es recolzen i s'admiren mútuament, però han de dur la relació en secret perquè al Japó la indústria de l'entreteniment funciona així. Tot i que no hi ha gaire acció i el drama que s'entreveu és mínim i es resol de seguida, anem veient una evolució de personatges tant en l'àmbit personal com professional. Ta bé :3

Now that Shin and Shige have established their careers and began blossoming in the movie and television industries, both have lost that initial feeling of jealousy towards one another. However, now that more and more people are finding out about their secret relationship, Shin and Shige must deal with the potential challenges this will put on their careers. Another great volume of this contemporary manga series.

Shige's manager reminds me of Haruki from Given lol.

This volume had less sex than the previous volume, but it felt significantly more horny. Also glad Shige is finally getting is shit together and love that Shin was like dude you're not a prince. Really shook Shige up. I knew Shin was going to embrace Shige's horny antics. I'm really enjoying these. The story is just taking me for a ride and I'm having fun. I'm really glad I didn't give up on this series.

2.5! i have many issues with shige but i am glad to see some positive development in their relationship. T^T Seeing Shige handle his issues and communicate with Shin is nice to see. I’m wondering how the next volume will be, knowing that a photo of them kissing was caught >~<

I do like this couple more and more I read the books. However I sometimes still get lost with names and scenes when I think we will get to one scene then switch scene just like that either as a flashback or to a other characters. But I'll keep reading them because I want to see where it goes.

Que voilà une série qui gagne vraiment en profondeur au fil des tomes. Avec sa couverture la plus sexy, elle nous promet une aventure sensuelle et humaines des plus douces.

Avec leur carrière à tous deux qui décolle mais se complexifie en même temps, Shin et Shige avaient besoin de faire le point, de se parler à coeur ouvert et de mettre les choses sur la table. C’est par le biais du théâtre, du jeu, qu’ils y parviendront et c’est une très belle séquence émotion qui ouvre ainsi ce 5e tome de leur histoire. J’ai beaucoup aimé la médiation que va revêtir leur métier dans leur relation et leur évolution personnelle. Shige coince avec son nouveau rôle tellement loin de ce à quoi il est habitué, lui à qui on a toujours donné une image de prince. J’ai été touchée de le voir demander de l’aide à Shin et de voir ce dernier y répondre en osant être tellement sincère. C’était beau et cela a vraiment débloqué la série !

A partir de là, j’ai adoré suivre leurs tournages réciproques. Le duo formé par Shige et Tatara dans ces rôles de détectives qui se détestent est top. J’aimerais beaucoup voir le drama qui en ressort 😉 Celui formé par Shin et Hanasaki est plus léger, plus rigolo, mais tout aussi intéressant car il aide Shin à sortir de sa coquille. Chacun évolue dans son métier et ses relations aux autres, se découvrant capable de jouer de nouveaux rôles plus proche de leur réelle personnalité. C’est lumineux et ça fait un bien fou quand on connaît leurs parcours.

Pour autant, on sent les complications poindre, d’un côté avec les médias qui vont s’emparer de ce qui se passe sur chacun des plateaux de tournage et de l’autre avec le patron de Shige qui semble mijoter quelque chose et qui a tout de la pourriture. L’autrice tombe un peu facilement dans le panneau des classiques complications liées au showbiz. Je sais que ce sont des passages obligés mais j’aimerais parfois les éviter. Oui, je pense qu’il sera nécessaire de parler au grand jour de la relation homosexuelle des héros pour qu’ils n’aient plus à se cacher et soient un modèle pour les autres. Mais non, je ne pense pas qu’il y ait besoin de noirceur et mélodrame comme ce qu’on sent venir pour ça. Je croise les doigts pour que la douce composition de Sachimo l’emporte, elle, qui a toujours réussi à éviter les écueils jusqu’à présent.

Avec une relation intime apaisée, les héros parviennent à trouver un bel équilibre également dans leur vie pro. Avec un art théâtral comme base thérapeutique dans ce tome, l’autrice tourne une page importante de leur histoire et leur permet d’avancer plus librement. J’aime beaucoup les nouvelles interactions qu’ils créent ainsi et les possibilités qu’ils s’ouvrent professionnellement. Quelle belle évolution !

I was really happy to get back to this story about Shin and Shige, two Japanese actors. It's a different sort of romance.

These two both have careers and they have to hide their relationship. In this volume, the two have co-workers, fellow actors who go out as a group and it's like a first date for the couple. They get to be together with each other in public for the very first time. It's so cool.

Both actors have projects going well for them at the moment. At the end, both managers have gotten them a new apartment that can hide the fact that the two live together. I really appreciate this series and the fact that it's something different. I need to speed this story progress up.

Shin and Shige both grow a lot in their careers, but the ride isn't over yet. Their friends and managers even pitch in to help out, but it seems even with all their caution, someone else is poised to drop the other shoe on their story before they may be ready for it. This may be the eye of the storm, but there have been a few good realizations along the way that hopefully will help them through to the end.

The cliffhanger! Amazing! Went from being so fun and cute to that!
Also the faces of Tatara and Shige in the beginning after the selfie was hilarious. I laughed out loud. Some really good moments in this.

February 2023. Volume 5 in a BL manga about actors in a secret relationship.

Wasn’t super into it, this series felt like it had potential to be interesting at first but I haven’t been too impressed. Wouldn’t really recommend. The characters aren’t interesting or likable enough for the inclusion of explicit scenes to be meaningful either. Got it from Link+ System through Sac Library. Not sure if I’d bother requesting more volumes through the library in the future.
