Mister #2

Mr. Knightsbridge

Rate this book
Dexter Daniels prefers gems over women. Emeralds over girlfriends. Diamonds over marriage.

He might be the most successful jeweler of his generation, a loyal friend and some say the most handsome man in London, but his past means he doesn’t deal in love.

When Hollie Lumen enters the ballroom where exquisite royal jewels are on display, she brings Dexter’s world to a screeching halt. Despite her hand-me-down dress and borrowed shoes, Hollie is even more stunning than the jewelry. Feisty, funny and ferociously independent, she’s all Dexter can see.

Hollie Lumen can’t catch a break. She thought an internship in London was her chance to escape her responsibilities back in Oregon and for her dreams to come true. When she’s fired only a few weeks after touching down, she’s ready to give up and go home. Hollie never asks for help. She knows the only person she can rely on is herself.

So what’s she going to do about the tall, dark, handsome stranger who keeps rescuing her?

She’s going to rescue him right back.

Mr. Knightsbridge is a stand-alone romance.

Swoon, sigh and all the feels. Mr. Knightsbridge by Louise Bay was an epic emotional ride. The sinful and playful passion. The intense emotions. Dexter and Hollie's dreamy and steamy love story has won my heart fair and square.

Dexter Daniels has tried his whole life to live upto his deceased parents' legacy as master jeweller after his brother sold their family business. And he has the best chance to prove himself for once and all. That is to win the competition to design Finnish Princess's wedding jewellery. And then he meets Hollie. The very different girl who has come to London all the way from Oregon to pursue her dreams as a jewellery designer by interning in Dexter's competitor Sparkle. They have something special. But their worlds are completely different. Daniel is rich and successful and polished. Hollie comes from a poor and hard and dark side. Is it only temporary? Is it only sex?

Dexter Daniels is an extraordinary man. Period. He is sexy and gorgeous. He is kind, witty, charming and caring. He is a passionate man and his passion extends to all aspects of his life. He is a bit dominating and controlling in the sense he wants to take care of Hollie at any cost. This amazing man also carried a lot of anger and guilt and hurt inside. And his awesome friends couldn't make him heal and forgive till Hollie came into his life with her big heart. I don't have words for Hollie. She is just beautiful. Her life didn't give her much chance beyond surviving and struggling. But she is strong and talented and smart and she is determined to have a better life for herself and her sister. She always sacrificed herself for her family until Dexter made her feel that she is worthy of happiness. She isn't impressed by Dexter's money and she isn't afraid to speak her mind. They both had reservations and doubts about love. But love just swept then off their feet! They have this scorching hot chemistry that also brings lots of sweetness! This was such a captivating love story that just made my heart and body melt! They have this mindblowing connection that goes beyond social status and space and everything. My heart was breaking for them but the ending made me smile and cheer. And the Bromance between Dexter and his friend? Just hilarious and entertaining to the most.

Mr. Knightsbridge by Louise Bay is the kind of epic romance that just left me so happy and warm. It was a perfect combination of sexy, swoonworthy and soul deep. Louise Bay's writing created magical moments all through this brilliant story!

Louise Bay is a genius when it comes to original and entertaining story plots! She introduces me each time to a world I wouldn’t even dream existed!

Dexter and Hollie’s story is a beautiful story full of gems and priceless love! I loved seeing the I side of the gem world and how things work! Which is what I love about this story! I have yet to read a romance novel that looks at or even mentions a jeweler! I also love how Dexter found inspiration for his work in the love he had for Hollie!

Though both are from two different worlds they enjoyed each other’s company and they understood one another in a way no one else had! Hollie was a strong, independent heroine who was used to wearing the world on her shoulders! She didn’t know her worth but Dexter did! From the moment he saw her Dexter knew that Hollie was more than an outward beauty! He could see her heart and he knew her soul! As they got to spend time and got to know one another their connection only got stronger and when the unknown pulls them apart they have to decide if love is enough!

5 star Review Mr Knightsbridge by Louise Bay
Dexter Daniels and Hollie Lumen intrigued me from the first to the last chapter and I was fully invested in the story that Louise Bay wove.

Having been badly burned in the past, Dexter is focused on his business, rather than looking for love. He is a rich, powerful, determined man; he gets what and who he wants, when he wants. Both Dexter and Hollie are independent and strong characters and I found them likeable and easy to relate to.

Hollie makes me laugh, she’s feisty,sassy and there is just so much humour in her and some of the best moments throughout the book are when she calls Dexter out on his behaviour. She is determined to rescue her knight in shining armour from himself, even as he comes to her rescue time and again. For these two to make a success as a couple there was plenty of give and take required from both of them.

I loved both Dexter and Hollie, separately and particularly as a couple, their connection was intense and you could feel the air sizzle between them. Not only was it steamy but it is an emotional read that will get to you on a number of levels. They both come from two completely different worlds and at times my heart broke for both of them but through it all I was cheering that they would get the happily ever after that they both deserved.

It was an average Louise Bay book.
Chemistry : 3/5
Writing style : 3.5/5
Plot : 2.5/5
Content : 2.5/5

Ok so the story was so normal, nothing special or extraordinary (But that's what happen in 90% of LB books🙄)
I swear if I hadn't already got most of her books on my e-reader I would have ditched this authoress.
I just keep on hoping she'll write something really interesting next time.

◾The story is of an intern who's poor poor and hero who's rich rich. ~yawn~
◾Hero is bewitched by heroine at first glance and starts to pursue her.
◾She didn't want to date him first but after finding him intriguing agrees and here starts the epic love story 🙄

So why I didn't really like it :
◾ Chemistry was off. There was no such angst or heat.
◾It was insta attraction/love-but-didn't-realise type situation which became boring after a while
◾I DIDN'T LIKE THE HEROINE!! She's an immature, wayyy too kind than possible sort of person and so so easily manipulated by her own family. You can literally use her as a doormat and cue her to leave, SHE'LL SERIOUSLY LEAVE!!
She's that disposable.

The reason I choose her books is when I'm in between some really intense or extremely emotional books. That way I get to think and feel less which mentally prepares me.
But No LB book for me for a long time now.

SPOILER AHEAD!!
Tbh the moment where h left H for no real reason or without informing him properly was a turning point for me. All the love and respect I had for the couple especially h was lost.
It was sooo childish! Adult's don't play hide and seek like that!
There was something between them and both of them didn't really discuss about it , just blatantly left.

What genre is this book? Basically it’s good old fashioned romance. There’s no bad boys, no bikers, no rockers, no small town romance, no friends or enemies to lovers, no forbidden love. It’s just pure unadulterated romance, and guess what? I loved every minute of it. I kept waiting for the shoe to drop. Not many books nowadays just concentrate on a great story and great writing with no angst and no hidden agendas, just a truly wonderful love story with wonderful characters and a sweet, sexy and addictive read. Dexter Daniels is career orientated, he owns jewellery stores around the world (I am totally of the belief that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, so he has my vote straight away). Hollie Lumen is a jewellery designer, she’s from backwater Oregon doing an internship in London (for Dexter’s arch nemesis no less)), and she’s sweet, honest and caring, always putting others before herself. When their worlds collide (against the odds), sparks fly and they both start to question their beliefs and their plans from the past, and for the future. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

Such a swoon worthy story!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There’s some tropes that I just love. I’m all for the millionaire/billionaire romance stories. I don’t know why. Maybe because we all dream of a rags to riches love story.
This is one of those stories. The insta-attraction factor is in full affect in the story. But it’s not cheesy or the same basic love story that’s recycled over and over.
Louise Bay is a very strong writer and always delivers her story with extra flair, hot and heavy buildup, and beautiful endings that just leave you in a really good place.
Classic yes, but sweet and romantic and even a bit humble. Bay shows off her books with great character development and she really works hard to make each story memorable.
With the perfect blend of love, fun, romance, and passion, you can’t help but enjoy this delightful story. Plus it contains the best quote ever- “You want my dick or the pie?” HA!
Losing your parents at any time in your life is hard. It is especially impactful when we are not fully adults with a bit of living to give us perspective. These types of experiences leave scars and cause how we process things after...and in Mr. Knightbridge, Louise Bay tackles this concept with a loving heart.
Dexter Daniels grew up in an incredible family.
He had an older brother and a loving mother and father. These parents were creative and talented, both of them. This meant they were equals in the success of their world-famous jewelry store in London.
The work produced from this team was beyond compare and when royalty wanted something more than special, they came to Dexter's parents. In what should have been a perfect family tale of Dexter and his brother taking over the business after the parents were tired and wanted to retire...that did not happen.
Instead, a horrible accident happened cutting down the parents, leaving college-aged Dex unable to deal with the pain. Then add his older brother selling the company to a competitor, it was too much for Dexter. He only had his college brothers now...and when everything settled, he didn't have the one woman he thought was his future.
These experiences marked Dex. Made him singularly focused. He would build another jewelry company, equal in quality as his parents and when it was, only then would he open a store in London.
Over the years, Dex's inherent and keen talent to "see stones" as to how they should be presented led his goals to be attained. He had multiple locations all over the world. Waiting lists for the designs they did.
Now he was back in London and it was only due to one thing. The Heirs of Finnish Royalty were marrying. Dex's parents had made the jewels given to the past royals. Now there was a competition to make for this new couple for their wedding for all of the big jewelry houses. Dex is determined to win and honor his parents.
Hollie Lumen may have come from opposite beginnings of Dex but she was someone who was equally determined. It takes determination to come from her distressed background, overcome all odds, and make something of yourself. Her parents didn't have the means to hold things together. It was Holly's ability to make miracles happen that gave her baby sister the chance to go to college. By working a couple of jobs all at the same time while going through her own education, she held this difficult family together.
Early on Holly was fascinated by stones and their beauty. She took design classes and then decided to do jewelry on her own. She opened an Esty shop and was surprised at how many people wanted her work. Holly was serious about learning everything she could and applied for internships everywhere. She got lucky and won the Sparkle one in London.
Now Holly is standing, looking at the amazing pieces from the past and is tempted to pinch herself. Never would she have believed she would have this opportunity to work with this Sparkle's team designing the contest work. She is stunned yet allows herself a moment to say, hey I made this happen.
Dex is working the room as best he can. He does not wish to be there and most of the people there can't stand him anyway. They think him arrogant and full of ego. Well, point taken...but he is someone who has proven when he says something and designs what needs to be done, the pieces work.
Dex looks to where a special piece he remembers he loved years ago and sees a lovely woman standing there. She is gazing at the gems as if they are talking to her and giving her the secrets of the world. He walks over and when he addresses her, he is knocked back...her eyes are magnificent, they are exactly like rare emeralds.
These two have a different conversation than the norm...He is impressed with how Holly talks design and sees her as someone he normally never would approach. This Holly is a special woman, American, and seems innocent in a way. Dex does try to ask her out, Holly says no so he gives her his number and hopes she calls.
This was a very strong story. There was much to grab onto. If you are loving a relationship with spice but some angst, it is there. If you like to have two people who are really taken with each other...It is there too. There were a couple of things causing me to not do five stars, but overall every piece fell into place. The whys of both of these characters were answered and that is always a great thing in books.
Mr. Knightsbridge is a lovely addition to all of the solid work from Louise Bay.
Safe and romantic, Mr. Knightsbridge was an enjoyable read.
Well written, dual pov, kept my interest but it didn’t sweep me off my feet.
Hollie’s insecurities were rather tiring as well as Daniel’s inability to overcome issues from his past. Also the ending was very rushed.
Regardless, it was a cute story.
When a tragedy changes your life…
Louise Bay puts a sexy Pom in the (hero) hot seat, and you end up with the best romance stories around. I absolutely LOVED Mr Knightsbridge and wore a big goofy grin from start to finish. The hero was amazing, and I loved seeing his emotional growth throughout the story. The heroine was strong, dependable and determined to be more than what she was born into. There was a little bit of a fairytale feel, but that made it even better. I wanted Dexter to sweep Hollie off her feet and make all her dreams come true… because making her happy will give him the dream life that he never knew he wanted.
When someone says that a tragedy, like the death of a loved one, changed their life, you mostly think about the emotional impact of the loss. In Mr Knightsbridge, it wasn’t just the emotional impact, it was the events surrounding it as well that changed Dexter’s life. I don’t think Dexter realised how his perceptions changed when he lost his parents. It took a lot of years to see that what he remembered was different from what happened. Betrayals, or seeming betrayals, felt like gunshots to the heart. What he thought was true love at 19 years of age was just immature like-a-lot. Only those he trusted… the ones who followed his orders and told him what he wanted to hear, could get him through the dark times. It seemed that looking past the betrayals, lost love's, and mistakenly being wrapped in cotton wool, could only happen after he meets a woman who loves making jewellery as much as he does.
Hollie has come to London to change her life and follow her dreams. She’s sick of living in a trailer in her small town, working to pay her bills, her parents bills, and her sister's bills. Hollie does it because she thinks it’s her responsibility to take care of her family. Her dreams had been put on hold while she helped pay for her little sister’s college education. She wants for Autumn what she didn't have a chance to have, an education and a chance for better. Now that Autumn has nearly finished college, it’s time for Hollie to live her dream… leaving Oregon and designing and making jewellery.
I absolutely loved Dexter and Hollie’s relationship and how they fell in love. I knew they were right together because they weren’t afraid to be honest with each other. Honesty can be hard, but it is the only way to have a successful relationship, in my opinion. Yes, forthrightness can hurt but if you can’t be or share who you really are, there really is no hope. Being candid with someone can also help them to realise that anger and resentment can hold them back from seeing the truth. Sometimes being frank with someone your care about can help them realise that you can’t help someone if they can’t help themselves. Sincerity, truthfulness, and honesty helped make Dexter and Hollie’s relationship work.
The Mister Series is becoming one of my favourite series by Louise Bay. The characters are engaging, the love story makes my heart flutter, and the sexy times are HOT! I can’t wait for the other Misters to find true love.
Entretenido, sin más. El anterior de esta saga me gustó mucho más. No he conseguido sentir la química entre los protagonistas en ningún momento, pero me ha gustado volver a saber de los personajes del anterior libro y conocer algo más a los próximos protas del siguiente. La cosa promete. No tardaré en ponerme con él.
Mr. Knightsbridge was a sweet, enjoyable read.
Dexter is rich and famous, Hollie makes ends meet by working in a factory dreaming of becoming a jeweller.The first is a british jeweller, the second is an american intern.
Their very different worlds collide during a party where were all the attendees of the competition for the creation of the Finnish's royal jewels.
Will love at first sight be strong enough to survive a fierce competition and the hurdles life put on their way??
I loved how Dexter and Hollie call each other flaws, and how they also make each other think and reconsider their actions. It seems like these two have known each other for a long time given their connection and complicity.
I'm here once again to recommend a book written by Louise Bay because she always entralls me with her words.
Well hello Dexter Daniels what a pleasure to finally meet you!
Holy hot damn, it's been a minute since I last dove into words from Louise Bay but I can safely say Mr. Knightsbridge was WORTH THE WAIT!
Mr. Knightsbridge is a scintillating, swoony and steamy read. Much like the diamonds Dexter produces, this read sparkled and shined with high passion, intense connection and adorable wit and sass!
Dexter and Holly were a dream to read, their love story builds so beautifully and at a pace believable to the characters! Annnd, the heat. WOAH BABY, these two could cut through a diamond with how sharp and hot they were! My goodness!
All in all, this was a bloody brilliant standalone from Louise Bay. A thoroughly enjoyable read!
I really liked this book it was nice to find two lovable characters that had such a heated and emotional chemistry. The story line was interesting and engaging and the sex was very hot. The only thing that did annoy me (and its just a little thing) I cannot understand why after everything they had shared together that Holly just walked out without saying anything to Dexter, not even a goodbye. Over all this was a fantastic read and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I have never laughed so hard. This is my first book from this author, and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t know what to expect. What a gem of a book.
Dexter and Hollies' story is beautiful, funny, full of emotions, gems, jewelry, and love. Both from two different worlds. They enjoyed being with each other. As they get to know each other more, their feelings for each other are stronger.
I just Love Hollie with her honesty and such a strong heroine. Some of the things that came flying out of her mouth were too funny. I have to say this is the first book I have read where there is a jeweler, which was great. You can't help but imagine all the beautiful jewelry.
Wow, the way I was so ready to part ways with Louise Bay's books and yet this series keeps serving with easy, gives-you-all-the-giddy-feels romance with a side of sexy.
There were some ridiculous points in the plot, like Dexter's 15-year-old hang-up on his "first love" going wrong when he was 19. By "going wrong" I mean him giving up on the relationship after one argument and then subsequently being disappointed when his ex moves on without him and that somehow translating into him believing he will never succeed at being in a committed relationship EVER AGAIN. I mean...did that reach hurt him or...?
But apart from this, I'm always in for close group of friends series and that's one of them, and it's done well. Although I get the feeling that the author doesn't have it in her to juggle that many characters because the group of friends that Dexter is a part of consists of six guys and yet the two of them are constantly left out, lol, I can't even recall their names, they're NOT THERE that much.
The chemistry between Dexter and Hollie was great and to be honest, I loved that their relationship was mostly angst-free and that they communicated and solved their problems together (up until the end, where there was need for some drama, of course *rolls eyes*).
All in all...this was not the type of romance where the angels' choir sings as the couple gets together and you end up thinking about them long after you've finished. BUT...if you need something relaxing and soft and fun, that's an excellent choice and let's be real, sometimes it's all we need.
Mr. Knightsbrighe was a phenomenal love story.
Dexter Daniels and Hollie Lumen were such amazing characters. Both were so easy to fall in love with. No way did he think she’d also make her way into his heart. But there wasn’t anything couldn’t like about her. She totally got under his skin and she was a woman who blows his mind.
Louise Bay never fails to deliver the perfect combo of complicated characters that make me swoon at every turn.
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
This was yet another amazing story by Louisa Bay.
They say tragedy changes a man forever.
Dexter Daniels was heart broken when both his parents died in a tragic accident, and to honor their legacy he worked hard all his life to keep their name on top. To prove that he is the best, he has to win the competition to design Finnish Princess's wedding jewelry. That's when he meets Hollie. A young woman with big dreams, she came all the way from Oregon to pursue her dream of becoming a jewelry designer.
The attraction between them was undeniable, but is it enough to keep what they have last???
They both are from totally different worlds. Dexter is rich and has a very easy and good life, whereas Hollie's life was far from easy.
I loved Dexter he was such a sweetheart, he is gorgeous, smart, kind and sexy ass hell. He had his demons but when Hollie came to his life everything was perfect. She was the yin to his yang ans the light to hid darkness.
I read this book in one setting and i enjoyed it A LOT!!
Para comenzar esta segunda parte, no me ha parecido tan buena como la primera.
Nunca pude conectar con Dexter y mucho menos con Hollie. No me transmitieron lo suficiente para engancharme.
El romance a mi parecer, le ha faltado intensidad, chispa,, coqueteo... Sentí a los personajes planos emocionalmente. Por esta razón la lectura se me hizo lenta y así mismo tardé en terminarla. Incluso, tenía que volver a leer lo que ya había leído porque muchas veces no me enteraba de nada. Además, no hubo ningun punto donde yo dijera: ok, ahora sí quiero leer.
A pesar de lo anterior continuaré con la serie.
Let me begin by saying how much I adore Louise Bay and have devoured every book she’s published. I even plan my days around a new release so I can read it properly and not have any distractions. I laughed so hard at Mr. Mayfair and was so thrilled that Stella and Beck were featured as friends of Dexter Daniels, our hero in Mr. Knightsbridge.
This book was so different from anything I’ve read before. I loved how he was an upscale jeweler in London and how Louise bought him to life as well as his passion for this creative and cutthroat business. I loved his reasons for wanting to be a custom jeweler and the devotion and fond memories he shared of his parents and how he wanted to follow in their legacy. And I loved reading all of the vivid details about the gems and how they went about designing and creating each piece.
When he first ran into Hollie Lumen, an American working in London as an intern for one of his competitors, he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. They were at a work function and had such an engaging first conversation and these scenes completely drew me in. I loved that this book was set in Europe, that Dex’s company was designing jewels for the princess of Finland to possibly wear on her wedding day, and mostly, their witty banter.
I love how he realizes she’s not like the women in his past, and how she is a woman worth fighting for. He doesn’t give up, and soon enough, they fall into an easy rhythm and their sexy times are smoking hot! They bring out the best in each other and come to know each other on a deeply personal level. She helps him deal with the death of his parents and his estrangement from his brother, and he helps her to see that her goals and dreams matter too, and that he is there to support her not only financially, but emotionally as well, as she seems to take all of her family’s burdens into her own hands.
He is so very thoughtful with so many things, and I swooned when they got into their first argument and he wouldn’t let her go until it was resolved. He wanted to know how she was feeling so he could understand her better, and it really was very moving.
Dex was nothing short of amazing. He was patient, kind, generous, thoughtful, humble, honest, not a player, a great boss who gave back to the community, not afraid to admit when he makes mistakes, and has a great sense of humor. He has a close-knit groups of friends who appear throughout the book, and I love how he makes amends with his brother, and suddenly realizes a woman from his past doesn’t affect him anymore.
It wasn’t always smooth sailing for these two, and I am thrilled that they got their HEA and worked things out, as that is why I read romance, I want a happy ending and Louise always brilliantly delivers on that.
SPOILER ALERT: I am so sorry to say that some of Hollie’s actions really bothered me. I loved her independence and how she saved her money and had the courage to go to London to follow her passion and learn the custom jewelry business. I loved her kind heart, her easy-going nature, and how she treated Dex like a regular person and didn’t care about his money. But I didn’t love how she repeatedly kept referring to herself as living in a trailer from no-place Oregon, and that she planned to go back there. Why? How will going back home help her reach her career goals? She mentioned living in a trailer so many times and there is no shame in that. Many successful people come from humble beginnings. I just wished she held her head a little higher and not let it dictate her future.
Dex was wonderful. He said all of the right things, and let her know over and over again that where she came from didn’t mater, that he loved her for who she was on the inside, and that he was there for her. He often told her how good she made him feel pointing out all of the nice things she had done for him, and how beautiful and special she was. He treated her as an equal, mentoring her and basically hiring her with no prior experience so she could learn the business. Then she made a solo decision without consulting him or considering his feelings, and sadly, I lost respect for her after that.
While I loved how close she and her sister were, and could understand her need to take care of her family, I didn’t like how she kept bailing out her parents financially and paid her sister’s college tuition. I didn’t admire how she so easily gave up everything to rescue her parents once again. And why did she have to do it in person and so quickly? She couldn’t wait one day to speak with Dex and attend the most important event of his career?
If her parents were as poor as was portrayed, her sister would have qualified for financial aid and gotten a low-interest government loan for any unpaid tuition and room and board. Hollie could have stayed in London and her sister could work, even do a work study at the college, and buy her own books, food, and car as hundreds of thousands of college kids do each year. I know part of Hollie’s charm was how she helped her family, but to me there is helping your family by empowering them, and then there is becoming an enabler.
Hollie worked in a factory and sold jewelry on Etsy, how much money could she have made to keep paying for her parents’ rent? And her internship was only for minimum wage, so how much could she have saved a few months in London?
I know others may see her differently, and this book is the author’s vision, not mine, and I totally respect that, but I feel Dex deserved better after all that they shared. She owed it to him to consider his feelings and at least have a conversation with him and not have taken their relationship so lightly. This is why my review rating is lower, the first book of Louise’s I ever rated lower than 5 stars.
I do love so many parts of this book as I pointed out, and do highly recommend it, as well as all of her other books. I am a fan of Louise’s forever; Hollie not so much.
This is a very easy 5 "Kilig" stars
This author is one of my one click. I was very ecstatic to receive an ARC for this book. I enjoyed reading Mr. Mayfair and was looking forward to reading Dexter's story. And Oh my I was not disappointed. Dexter Daniel was the perfect book boyfriend in my opinion. He was the quintessential English gentleman, you just have to read the book to appreciate his awesomeness. The chemistry between Dexter and Hollie was captivating on the onset, I loved the banter and the witty remarks they exchange. This book gave me all the feels. There were plenty of laughed out loud moments in the book and also some teary eyed moments too. We have this word in Filipino "KILIG", which is by the way now part of the Oxford English Dictionary, in a nutshell it means romantic excitement, and I felt that kilig all throughout the book. I could not put this book down. I also loved all the side characters in the book, Beck and Stella from Mr. Mayfair and the other four best mates were also mentioned. This is a definite reread once the audiobook is release as this book will be narrated by my favourite narrators Shane East and Vanessa Edwin. I am also looking forward to reading the other four best mates’ story, a fangirl of Ms. Bay's work could only hope they will all have their own story in the near future. Overall an enjoyable read and one of my favourite book from Ms. Bay hands down.
*I received an ARC for an honest review*
Poor American girl and rich English guy..
Hollie and Dexter each have a lot of things to prove to people, and they want to succeed in whatever they do. When these two met at the contest party, there were instant sparks.
Hollie is in London as an intern looking to get as much training under her belt as possible before her unpaid internship is up and she has to return to nowhere Oregon and her trailer park and unreliable parents and wonderful younger sister.(Her parents are losers struggling always)
Dexter never thought he would be as entranced by a woman as he is Hollie, partly it's her looks, partly her apparent reluctant interest, but mostly it is the way their souls speak to each other without either of them saying a word. (His parents died)
Loved Dexter and Hollie’s story! She pushed him to test his limits, and he pushed her to reevaluate relationships. I loved the sass and the natural progression of their relationship. She really made him work for the cheese date! Can’t wait for the next in the series, this group of friends is great!
