So the message here is:

The Hero's career is more important then the heroine's
The Heroine's dreams are insignificant over the Hero's
The Hero gets to whore around with others but the heroine of course has to remain frozen
The Hero gets to be a shithead but it's the heroine who has to apologize & pursue him - never mind make all the sacrifices while he shits on her throughout the story.

Dear Writers: It's the 21st century. Woman are entitled to pursue their dreams & earn a living - just like men. They are entitled to have sex & relationships - just like men. How about we get with the times and start writing strong, likable characters with plots that make sense and are actually entertaining?

Yeah.. that would take too much brainpower. Lol.

“What is it, Faith?” he asked when he answered.

“Cord, I’m-I’m leaving the Monday after Reece’s wedding,” she whispered.

“Of course, you are. I knew you wouldn’t stick around, Faith, and you wonder why I said I couldn’t do this anymore,” he growled out.

“It’s not like that—”

“How the hell is it then, Faith? You’re going back to California. No news to me.”

“I’ll be back,” she said between clenched teeth. Damn, he was so hardheaded.

“Uh, huh.”

“I will. I’m giving my notice, but I have to stay for six weeks.”

“Six weeks? So you’re saying you’ll be back in six weeks. Is that right?”

“Yes.”

“Why bother, Faith? You love that job. Stay there and stay the hell away from me.”

“I love you, you hardheaded prick,” she yelled. “I’m coming back. You have to give me time.”

“I don’t have to give you shit. I’m not waiting for you, just like you expected me to the last time. A few years, you’d said, well, that time is up, and you’re going back. I will not wait for you. Not anymore.”

“Cord, I’ll be back. I promise.”

“Don’t make promises you can’t or intend to keep,” he snapped, then disconnected.

“Damn you, Cordell Robert Maddox,” she shouted.

As she stared at her cellphone, she wondered how she would convince him. What if he decided to get serious with someone else while she was gone? How could she come back and find out that he had? If he’d been dating someone, was it serious?

“Don’t you dare get involved with someone while I’m in California, Maddox.”

I love when I read a book that pulls all the feeling out of me. I like when I feel happy with characters, sad, angry and excited for their future. I had all of that in this book.

Faith was a woman that I think people could relate to. She was someone who loved someone unconditionally but yet her desire for a career takes her away from that person. It was a hard decision for her to make and she had to live with the consequences of that decision.

Cord still loved Faith but he was so hurt by her leaving. He became a wonderful man that was a good boss and friend but he still knew that something was missing.

I really enjoyed all the banter these two had together, whether it was happy or angry it was fun to read. My only complaint was there were times I really really wanted to hit Cord upside the head on not listening to Faith.

Great!

I chose this rating because this was actually a pretty good book. I really enjoyed pretty much all of the characters. This was a book of determination, compassion, being excepted again, kindness, and also getting the love of your life back. I really enjoyed Cord and faith story. I think the author did a pretty good job putting these characters together. At one point Cord was really irritating with the way he kept trying to push Faith away. Great read! I recommend this book to all cowboy lovers and romance readers.

Cord and Faith had a love many would do anything for. That is until a job offer was too good for her to pass up.
Three years later, she is back in Montana to sat goodbye to her pappy. Cord is still very angry. He even tried dating again but no one would have his heart but Faith.
Faith is still in love with Cord and he will be the only man for her. Will he ever forgive her? Will he give her another chance if she moves back?

Just Ok

I’ve never read this author, but wanted to because of the cover cowboy (Simply Gorgeous). ‘Cord’ started out ok., but it was a bit repetitive and juvenile in a lot of places. Who signs a contract without reading it- or letting a lawyer read it? Unrealistic- but I think the characters we’re supposed to a bit childish. They must be very young- I guess I like my romance books a bit more seasoned.

True Love!

Cord Men of Clifton: Fantastic writing! I liked reading what the other characters have been up too. I liked how the love between Faith and Cord never stopping even though he still hurt after what she did the first time. He just can't stop loving her even though she left him. That is true love! I loved their story!

They both loved each other but Faith's dreams got in the way. Now she's back in Clifton and Cord is still hurting that she even left the first time around. Will he give her a second chance? Can Faith convince him she's home to stay? I loved Ms. Davis's stories. She knows how to keep her readers hooked up and wanting more! Which I really do want more!!!

WOW! I loved this story. I’m a sucker for cowboys anyway and this author painted the perfect picture of a rugged, hard working, take no crap cowboy, who just so happened to have a soft spot for one beautiful lady. It was obvious how much they loved each other but they couldn’t seem to get out of their own way to find their way back to each other and at every turn, the story completely ripped at your heart. I love it when I can feel the character’s pain and this story had plenty of love and heartache to keep me with my nose in the pages.

She left him for the bright lights of California and he said he would not forgive her but she said she would be back. Well she came back because her grandfather was dying and that’s when she realized she still loved him and always would. He didn’t believe her until she convinced him she loves him always. But then she had to return to finish her contract.
Enjoy

Loved this book

I’ve read the whole series and loved each one. This is a story of love continuing despite years apart. Cord has loved Faith since he first saw her. When she returns to Clifton to be by her grandfather’s side before he dies, will they be able to rekindle their love.

He’s awful. Rude and disrespectful to her and the other women he’s dated. Why does he sleep around and she’s celibate for 3 years. Why does she have to pure and good while he’s far from it? Women and men have normal sexual relationships.

Painful

This love story was based on pain and continued in pain till the end. Readers get ready for frustration with both characters.
