Phos and the surprising miracle of Demon Lord Rimuru
Okay...for those that have not read the original series yet and are unsure of this one let me tell you that this story is more of a side character view of events that happened in the main story as seen through the eyes of the Eurazanian lycanthrope girl Phos and her friends Stella and Nemu (all of whom had their own missions within the city of Tempest at the beginning of the series.) With the shady Clayman manipulating everything in the background not only has the Demon Lord Milim declared war on Phos's master (Demon Lord Carrion) leading the citizens of his country to seek refuge in Tempest all before the Falmuth army attempted to weaken and exterminate the monster society themselves.
Now with Phos's friends having left Tempest temporarily to seek out answers to their questions from their homelands we are left with Phos in a land recovering from tragedy even as her own people flock to it thanks to the hardships in their own homelands. With a new conflict on the horizon and allies both new and old stepping up to help we get to see what is happening while Rimuru deals with Clayman's manipulations during the main story. :)

This volume continues a serious main story plot point that starts in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Vol. 12 and goes up to about halfway through That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Vol. 17. USE CAUTION: MAJOR SPOILERS
Basically, this is the aftermath of the Falmuth invasion, Except it's all from Phos's point of view since Stella and Nemu have gone off on their own story threads. Maybe the next volumes will have a perspective change?
