The Option: Like a dark wing rising to blot out the moon, night is coming, and when it does will any of us maintain the strength to hold the light of hope against it?

Rate this book
When the carnival rolls into town who knows what it will bring… Time has run out for everyone and something is coming that will change the world forever. It is ancient and has been on a collision course with humanity since time immemorial. At first the signs are few and subtle, just some random weather patterns, but soon things become much more serious. People begin to disappear, reports of spontaneous human combustion are suddenly soaring, mysterious lights are appearing in the night sky, and megalithic stone circles rivaling that of Stonehenge are sprouting up on nearly every continent. Still clouded in grief, Joshua Crowe’s broken heart suspects little, but when he encounters Emory Bones, a mysterious woman with empathic abilities, things quickly begin to change. Emory’s talents have put her at risk, and she can sense that something inhuman is coming for her. When Joshua agrees to help Emory evade her pursuers he is suddenly put on a path where he must conjure courage and faith long absent from his heart. The choices Joshua makes now will not only dictate the course of his own life, but the fate of humanity itself. Follow this epic trilogy that spans several generations of the Crowe family as they struggle to understand their place in the reshaping of the world, while at the same time dipping deeply into the realms of mystery and ancient lore.

It's sucking me in!

I'm halfway through this book and it's sucking me in! It's a deep read with involved characters and I can't wait to see where it ends up taking me but I am going to save the rest for my vacation. Everyone needs a good book to lose themselves in. So far for me, The Option is that book. Great work by a first time author!
