This is a great overview of aspects of, and various treatments for CPTSD. I would highly recommend it to new clinicians. As a clinician who already has experience/training in the area the information felt too broad, though I did find some useful tools to add to my practice as well.

Fantastic resource which is intended for practitioners but is, in my opinion as a non-professional, very accessible to the average person trying to sort out their own stuff. Arielle Schwartz is a real treasure in the trauma world, and an excellent teacher who makes this complex difficult work seem understandable and, more importantly, possible, which is life changing for so many people who feel lost or alone and don’t know why.

But she is so damn humble and just out there doing the work that she doesn’t get the accolades or readership she deserves!

I loved this comprehensive CPTSD manual for therapists. It includes interventions to do with clients and importantly reflection practices for providers. I particularly resonated with practices drawn from relational therapy and mindful body awareness. I appreciated learning more about polyvagal theory, parts work therapy and somatic psychology. I definitely see myself using this text again and again with a range of presentations. Highly recommend to others in the field.
