Don’t MS With Me is the captivating and inspirational story of a young woman’s multiple sclerosis journey. Morgan Mansell was just 17 years of age when she first noticed a blurring in her vision. After an MS diagnosis was confirmed, Morgan bravely battled life threatening adverse reactions to the numerous medications she was prescribed with over the ensuing years. If you have multiple sclerosis or know someone who does, then you will no doubt be aware of the devastation of that initial diagnosis; of the frightening uncertainty of what the future may look like; of the roller coaster ride associated with the search for a medication that works or at least slows down the progression of the disease; of dealing with the stigma that is often attached to a person suffering from MS; and of course facing the increasingly physical uphill battles that present themselves should the disease continue to progress. Don’t MS With Me is beautifully written with such humour whilst simultaneously being so very frank and informative. This book is not only for those personally affected by MS – but is an inspiring read for anyone with an interest in a person’s fight against the odds. Don’t MS With Me will have you captivated by the courage of this brave young woman. “MS did not define Morgan, nor should it define anyone with this condition. Morgan writes of her MS journey with astuteness, tenderness and humour. But in the face of great adversity she was brave, graceful and resilient.” Associate Professor Ernie Butler Head of Neurology, Peninsula Health All proceeds from sales of this book will be donated towards research for a cure for MS.
Wow. Thank you to the family for sharing Morgan’s experience with us. I don’t have MS (so far), but I have autoimmunity that’s caused weird neurological side effects. It has some overlap with MS and can lead to MS. I found this book when searching for books related to my symptoms. I’m really glad I did. Her positivity can be felt in these posts. And I can relate to the reevaluation of identity and the future. Because this is a memoir and was originally a blog, I feel as though it was really well written.
This book was a very quick read. The account by Morgan of her perilous health u journey was very well-written. You should be interested in or have knowledge of the medical field in order to enjoy this book. I liked it a lot! So sad though. I'm glad I read it. Highly recommend this book.
Morgan had spunk. Despite all that she face, she kept being upbeat and positive. She didn't plan on succumbing to MS despite the fact that the future appeared bleak. May she be at peace. Thank you for inspiring others not to buckle.
