This is one of my favorite in the series about Laura Black! This 9th (!!!) book in the series is top notch excitement with romance and favorite characters. It doesn't get much better than this.
Laura is an investigator for attorney Leonard Shapiro, where she investigates a blackmail ring and a wedding planner who has someone sabotaging her weddings. Factor in that Laura's next-door neighbor, Grandma Peckham, is getting married and it's "her" wedding planner with the troubles, and you have a very active and dedicated investigator.
I loved this book! It has terrific characters, old and new. The concurrent investigations, office situations, Men-in-Black, constant mob and Mexican cartel presence, and romance keep it lively and almost too exciting at times! (Hope you aren't a nail nibbler, because this book will tempt you to chomp!) I found myself racing through the book, unable to put it down. In fact, I immediately read it a second time because I didn't want it to end. This series (definitely needing to be read in order for best impact and pleasure) continues to get better and better.

Drug runners and partypoopers
Like the previous books in the series, this one too is overwritten. The author tells you what she is going to tell you, then she tells you. Such repetition distracts from the forward flow of the story.
MS Trimmer is not an economical writer, but she does EXCEL at character development and action scenes. Her characters grow naturally from scene to scene. The action scenes are crisp and do not get bogged down in introspection.
If MS Trimmer wants to branch out to another area of writing she might try travel books. She has a good eye for observing her surroundings.

A Must Read! Great Series!
Loved every single book! Fun,exciting, humor,romance! Only downside I don't want it to end! Please write more of Laura Black and Scottsdale! Loved every page! If you haven't read any of the books yet start with 1st. You won't want to stop. Never thought about Scottsdale before but might plan a visit. Hope their's as many cute guys as in books. I'm going to try the Aloha lagoon Hula Homicide because B.A. Trimmer is my favorite author now! Happy Reading!

Fun, but a little disjointed
I have previously really enjoyed this series and this installment wasn't bad, but there seemed to be a lot of jumping around in the time sequence and heavy explanations. It smoothed out toward the end, which was helpful, but could use some refinement in narration. Enjoyed the concept though!

Another fun week in Laura's life.
This is the next fun chapter in this series. All of our favorite characters are present as Laura winds up helping a wedding planner who is having problems planning. Very entertaining.

Very entertaining
This is another very entertaining book in this series. I enjoy the characters, the situations that arise, and the fun. The bits of romance are nice also. I look forward to the next book.

Twist and Turns
The book(s) are a delight to read, with twist and turns every few pages. Love Gabrielle and Largo and Marlowe the cat. I can not put these books down an look forward to the next one

Love this series!
Fun series. Likeable and engaging characters. Great detecting without a lot of the silliness. Can't wait for this to continue. May have to visit Arizona someday!!

light reading for the treadmill
Even though this series is super cheesy, the characters are fun and the stories keep me engaged while on the treadmill running. Always a little suspense and occasionally a twist I didn’t see coming. An easy fun read.

What????
I hope this isn't the last book...!! I think there are more stories to be told...Will the two factions continue to broker peace? Will Max and Laura get married? This is a great series with multiple twists and turns and I hope there is more to come.

Loved the series
I read the entire series and loved it! Living in the Phoenix area, it was fun to read various actual locations used in the books. I couldn’t put these books down!
