Fated Mates of the Ferlaern Warriors #3

Seduced by an Alien Warlord

Rate this book
He’s a proud alien warlord. She’s a single mom hoping to find love again. When their worlds collide, sparks fly.

Bruge
I’m a serious warlord, not a youngling warrior in need of a mate. Ensuring the duskhorde don’t kill us and that the clan gathering runs smoothly is enough to keep me busy. Court an Earthling female? Perhaps later. But when I meet Alexa, my second heart starts beating, proving she’s my maelstrom mate. Now I want her, and the best way to claim her is with an ancient Ferlaern abduction and seduction. If only my entire village would stop trying to help make it happen.

Alexa
I’ve crushed on Bruge for a while. He’s grumpy, gruff, and he has interesting social skills. What’s not to like? A widow raising three-year-old twin boys, I still have room in my life for romance. But whenever Bruge and I get close, we either wind up in trouble or we’re interrupted. Even better? His warriors follow us around snickering. Our relationship is going nowhere fast, but I’m not giving up, because there’s more than one way to seduce an alien warlord.

"Seduced by an Alien Warlord" is the third book in the Fated Mates of the Ferlaern Warriors series. This standalone, full-length romance has on-the-page heat, aliens who look and act alien, a guaranteed happily ever after, no cheating, and no cliff-hanger!

AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. She lives in New England with her husband (who is sadly not an alien, though he is still cute in his own way), her kids, and assorted pets, including a yorkie pup and three cats.

Good story!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💚💛
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌏
Character development: 😠☺️😋😉
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Alexa - when the Ferlaern warriors offered earth females a chance to have children after a disease swept through earth and killed most of the men, Alexa decided to make a home on their planet and try to find a match among their males. She had twin sons which she is raising on her own and she was attracted to Bruge, who was grumpy and broody and disappeared for months but now the clans were coming together for the season, she hoped to see him again.

The Heroes: Bruge - He was immediately attracted to Alexa and when he met her, his second heart started beating which confirmed she was his maelstrom mate. When the clans met up, he was hoping to woo her. He crafted his domit (home) into a large area with separate bedrooms for her younglings and was ready to see her again. He was the lead warlord in his clan since his father died and he was afraid he wouldn’t have enough time to woo Alexa so thought he would go the traditional way, with abduction and seduction.

The Story: The world building was great. I loved the description of the way the clan flew on their trundier’s, which looked like massive bees. When the boys got away from their babysitter and disappeared on one of the trundier’s, Bruge and Alexa take off to try to find the boys. Bruge already feels like they are part of his family and when they find the boys, Bruge implements his abduction plan and has them walk back to the village.

The story was good, and I liked their adventure. Though I have to admit that I wasn’t fond of the heroine’s name. I couldn’t figure out why my echo dot (Alexa app) kept going off and giving me strange bits of trivia until about halfway through the book. There were also some nice steamy scenes, but also quite a bit of story.

This book is told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Stephen Dexter and Felicity Munroe. These are two of my favorite narrators and they do especially well on alien romance. I have listened to both of them numerous times before and I really like both of their voices. Felicity does an awesome job at the kids voices as well, they sounded so cute.

I did not care for Bruge at first.  He knew Alexa was his mate but he stayed away from her for months.  He's lucky she didn't bond with someone else.

It also bothered me that Bruge immediately was bossing the kids and Alexa around and she allowed it.  They didn't know each other.   He hadn't spent time with any of them.  If I had kids and some stranger was bossing them around it wouldn't be pretty.  He gave them a knives and they were 3 years old.  He should have asked their mother first.  I told myself he was from a different culture but Alexa should have had more of a backbone when it came to him and her kids.  I get she was widowed but her kids were kind of bratty and didn't listen.
I loved it when Alexa interrupted the council meeting and gave her ideas on what they can eat.  Good for her.

Bitter Mother in law and alien dogs

Our alien warlord is kind and patient, and very supportive of Alexa's talents, both out of and in the oasis he plans to abduct and seduce her at. She's a mother of two rambunctious twins, a baker, and she has to win over her bitter mother in law, while helping the clan overcome a food crisis. They are meant to be together but things keep getting in the way, and miscommunication distracts them while they fall deeper in love. Another excellent sweet alien romance escape by Ava Ross! Looking forward to the next adventure.

Alexa and Burgg were adorable. The kids add a challenge for the couple and having all their friends try to help set them up was funny. The dangers and challenges of the world kept the story moving. I liked the building relationship and Alexa, a helicopter mom, learning to let go. An entertaining read.

Seduced by an Alien Warlord

A helicopter mom learns to take a step back and a warlord finds his mate. Alexa gets to bake and helps to feed her tribe. If course the romance is a frequently interrupted slow burn.

This is book three in Ava Ross’ Fated Mates of the Ferlaern Warriors series and is another brilliant story from AVA.

This book is packed with everything that we have come to know and love of Ava’s Alien Romance stories – action, adventure, romance, weird and wild alien worlds, hunky heroes, and strong, feisty women.

Seduced by an Alien Warlord is Bruge and Alexa’s love story. You might remember Alexa. She is the young, widowed mother with boisterous twin boys; to say they are a handful is an understatement. She has had a crush on Bruge since they first met months ago when she first landed on Ferlaern. Bruge is a Warlord, who has known Alexa is his mate since they first met yet has been unable to see her due to his clan duties. They are both eager to see each other again when the clans all come together for the summer season but are unsure of what the other thinks of them. Their story is full of the usual hilarious miscommunications and cultural differences that Ava specialises in, and some sneaky sexy moments including an abduction. Be warned! Bruge will melt your heart.

Even though these books have lots of action and adventure they are very low angst, funny, sweet yet sexy, and easy to read. They are great for a laugh and a feel-good escape. If you are having a bad day read one of Ava’s books and get away to an alien world for a while.

Isn't it great when friends think that they are helping when they are really not? It is always so much funnier when you look back on it than when you are living through it. It is safe to say that Bruge and Alexa are, well, frustrated in more ways than one. He has a plan to whisk her away and woo her except he is getting "help" which is causing more problems than it is solving. He knows she is his mate as his has maelstrom mark but is keeping it hidden. Alexa has pretty much decided that Bruge is the one for her but she has been alone with twin baby boys that she hasn't had a chance to be her in a long while. If she goes with him will he just take over and she will be lost again or will they have a chance to find out what they could be when if "help" and disasters give them half a chance.
It is a really heart-warming story and one of my favourites so far. Ok, if I'm being honest I love them all; Durran just pipping Bruge as my ultimate favourite. The stories are pretty much the just right option for me.

This is book THREE!! Let me just say that it is a great book. So we have Alexa who decides to sign up and head to Faelorn. She is trying to start over with her twin boys. Now these boys are constantly getting into stuff. Alexa is intrigued by Bruge but she is not sure about it all. Bruge thought he did not need a female but when he sees her, he knows she is meant for him. So know he needs to make a plan and he decides on a Faelorn tradition. So as the story goes, it is quit funny when his friends decide to help him out. Only something always happens and those plans fall through. Leave it to fate to put them both on the path to each other. So we see the struggle Alexa goes through being a single parent on this planet. However, we learn that not all want Bruge to mate with Alexa. They are also still trying to avoid any dusklan attacks. So what happens, well we get some action, betrayals, adventures, and find love. This is a great addition to the series.

Good fun

I love a book that stands alone, has everything wrapped up by the end, and a happy ending for the main characters. I eat the books in this series up like popcorn. They are quick reads and enjoyable.

Delightful

I loved the interaction between these two! Who doesn’t have in-law issues? Bruge’s Mom deserves her own little HEA! Alexa was overwhelmed with the twins and it was so funny as everyone tried to get them together and all the things that went wrong. I enjoy this writer so much that I received an ARC and still bought a copy. Her imagination keeps me entertained for hours.

This is my favourite Ferlaern book in this series…….so far. Ava has an amazing imagination and got me wishing the Ferlaern warriors were real. This book tells the story of Alexa, Bruge and Alexa’s 3 year old twins from a previous marriage. There’s action, excitement, betrayal, a warlord who is possessive and protective of Alexa and his new younglings of his heart, some steamy scenes and a happily ever after ending.

When Alexa first met the warlord Bruge she knew then that she wanted him and she thought he felt the same, but he disappeared and went back to his own clan. Now it’s the winter months and all of the clans migrate and stay in a settlement together. When they arrive she looks around for him while Josie and her daughter Savvy look after Alexa’s twins Will and Ben. When she finds him Savvy comes running looking terrified, the boys jumped onto her trundier and she flew away with the boys on her. Bruge immediately gets several warriors to get on theirs and search for them. Just then the trundier comes back, but the boys aren’t on her back anymore. Alexa is hysterical thinking they fell off her back. Her and Bruge get on Nykas and set out to find them and they do, they are being chased by their version of a sabertooth tiger. Bruge and Nykas manage to kill it and Bruge decides they will all walk back to the village. He uses it as a bonding exercise for him and the twins and a way to seduce Alexa. When they return it’s to news that the animals they normally eat are nowhere in sight. Luckily Alexa comes up with an idea to make some ovens to bake bread and some others foods. Also to pen some animals that are their version of chickens to use for eggs and if needs be meat. Her ideas are welcomed by everyone except Bruge’s mum, who doesn’t think a human is good enough for her son. Things take a turn for the worst when Alexa is kidnapped by 2 warriors and exchanged to their enemy for alcohol that is banned by the Ferlaern warlords and elders. Bruge with the help of their new droog fluffy finds them and kills one of the warriors and the enemy they sold her to. When they finally get a chance to mate Bruge takes Alexa away for the night and spends all night long pleasing her and promises he will care for her, the twins and any other children they have and love them for the rest of his life.

I loved this book! I started this series with the last book and really enjoyed it for it's great world-building, alien cultures, and wonderful characters. This book was just as engaging. In the last book, the setting was in their summer domits high above ground. In this book, the four Ferlaern clans gather together in the lowlands to spend the winter together, giving it a nice new atmosphere, and allowing us to see more interaction between the different clans. Especially with the looming uncertainties of the movements and the actions of their enemies the duskhorde, whom I saw only a little of in the last book, but were more prevalent in the first.

Alexa is a widow- having lost her husband to a disease on Earth that killed most of the population of men. Caring for her twin sons was all that kept her together during her grieving period. When news of the existence of aliens reached Earth, and learning that the same disease killed their women, a matchmaking program was created to form matches as the species were compatible. Alexa, wanting a father figure for her young sons and having no prospects on Earth, signed up and traveled to Planet Ferlaern. When she met Bruge, she felt a spark again that she thought died with her husband. At the same time, Bruge's second heart began to beat and a symbol appeared on his shoulder marking her as his fated maelstrom mate. In this book, both eager to reunite with the other, find each other again and their relationship develops from there.

I loved seeing these two bond, not only together, but with Alexa's two sons. Lots of emotion. This book also had great adventure and I didn't want to put it down. I definitely recommend it. 5 stars.

Bruge is a warlord who at first was unattracted to the human women who came to their planet. Then he met Alexa and he knows she is meant to be his. He even has the Maelstorm mate mark to prove it. However Alexa is recovering from the death of her husband and overwhelmed caring for her 3 year old rambunctous twins. Bruge decides he will give her time to adjust to her new life on the new planet. After all, the tribes all gather together on the plains in the summer and he can woo her then. He has decided that he will will use an ancient tradition of his own people to win Alexa. He will kidnap and seduce her. The problem is different emergencies keeping ruining his plans and his mother doesn't like humans.

Alexa has her hands full with her twins who are very adventurous. She knows she is expected to pick an alien to marry but the only one she is interested in was Bruge and he went away. She believes he can't have serious feelings for her. When they meet again, Bruge is showing a lot of interest in her. he helps her find her sons when they fly away on their own and teaches them survival lessons. Bruge keeps telling her he plans to kidnap and seduce her but plans always fall through. Will they ever be able to get together?

Book 3 in the series - recommend reading in order. All are great and build on characters we have met in previous stories.

We know Bruge is looking forward to seeing Alexa again. They met at the first meeting when the human women first arrived and both noticed the other. Problem is life is in the way. They haven't seen each other since and are questioning if they are the only one with feelings. Bruge is taking care of his clan and Alexa has twin 3 year olds - not sure who has their hands more full.

I adored seeing Bruge with Will and Ben. It is heart melting. Also, I could relate with Alexa's need to protect her sons. It is instinct. Seeing her struggle with being a helicopter mom as she questioned what was best for her sons. Ferlaern is much more dangerous than Earth. Maybe her boys could benefit from learning more of the Ferlaern ways.
As friends and family throw their two cents into trying to help and hinder their relationship, new danger strikes and Amber may be the only one with a solution.

A satisfying story that help my attention. Definitely one I would love to read again. looking forward to the next story.

You'll love Bruge and Alexa!💖🔥

Bruge,can't wait to see Alexa and her two twin boys again. He's known since the first time that she is his true mate. He wants a chance to seduce her and she is her how .ugh he cares about both her and the children. He wants to show her how good a life they can have together. Alexa has been waiting patiently to see Bruge again. He impressed her with not only his good looks but his ability as a warlord and his patients and caring with her young boys. She hopes that once they settle in the plains for the winter they can finally see if they are ment to be together. The action starts the minute they see each other. Bruge rescues Alexa from being trampled, the boys go missing and they have to find them in the dangerous woods , the duskhord is up to no good and there is a series of well meaning matching making that goes wrong at each turn , a very challenging mother inlaw😬and danger that will not be resolved 100% but will show up in the next story. So much intrigue, just the right amount of action and the chemistry and passion between the H&h is 🔥🔥 hot! An excellent read and I can't wait for the next in the series to go live! Highly recommend💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥💖💖🔥💖💖💖🔥💖🔥💖💖💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖💖💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥

👽 “I will want you forever. Nothing would honor me more than claiming you to the world as my maelstrom mate.”
~~~
Alexa has been through a lot and now is on a new planet with her two sons. I loved her bravery and independence. And she’s such a wonderful woman and a caring mother.
And Bruge is just the male for her. He’s so strong, protective, responsible, possessive and honorable. I loved him!
I loved the development of their relationship. They had a crush on each other for quite some time but there was some hesitancy on both sides. I loved the plan for abduction and seduction although things didn’t go as planned. It was such fun to read all the mishaps when everyone tried to help in one way or another. Nevertheless, Alexa and Burge were a great match and their chemistry was amazing and sizzling hot. And it takes two such strong and caring individuals to handle Alexa’s wild twins - these boys were quite the handful but adorable and fun nonetheless.
And let’s not forget Burge’s mother… Ooooh, that woman...
Overall, the story is another wonderful addition to the series. It’s filled with action, danger, adventure, betrayal, twists, steamy romance and magnificent characters.
I absolutely loved every page of it!
Bread Finally Saves The Day!!!
✨You have to read the whole book to understand my caption lol 😉✨
It was so wonderful getting a new view of how the Ferlaern people live together during a different season. Alexa and Bruge’s story was exciting, and they always seem to have to deal with something, or someone, trying to get in their way of falling in love. Alexa is definitely an independent, and strong, single mother of her little twin boys, but she was obviously ready to have someone by her side helping to shoulder the burdens of everyday life. In steps Bruge, who was one of my favorite characters. He was definitely a strong man, and leader, but he was so patient and understanding with Alexa and her boys, while also having a wonderful sense of humor. The way he supported and backed Alexa up was also so heartwarming. This book brought me to tears at the end, and just got me in my feels lol. Definitely a fantastic addition to the series, and I can’t wait to read Josie and Zetar’s story next (insert girlish squeals lol) ❤️
When Bruge meets Alexa, his second heart starts beating which means she is his maelstrom or fated mate. However he is the leader of his clan and his responsibilities and constant interruptions keep him from pursuing her. Now the clan that Alexa and her sons live with are coming to the winter grounds where his clan is located and he plans to find time to claim her following ancient Ferlaern tradition: abduction and seduction.
Alexa is a widow raising three-year-old rambunctious twin boys. She liked Bruge when she met him and none of the other warriors have attracted her attention. She is interested in seeing what might develop between them.
This is the 3rd book in the Fated Mates of the Ferlaern Warriors Series. I liked that this one had a little more action, adventure and humor than the first two books did. There is danger from the duskhorde and a kidnapping to overcome. The characters are interesting, great world building and an HEA.
loved it
Alexa came to Ferlaern with her 3yr old twins to find love and a new life. When the clans the human women live with migrate to the plains for the season she meets Bruge again. As warlord of another clan this is their first opportunity to spend time together, but many obstacles stand in their way. The threat of the duskhorde looms, also the vast herds then hunt for food have vanished completely, leaving them scrambling to feed all their people. Bruge knows Alexa is meant for him, but still other males Pursue her while friends of both of them attempt to help out by arranging interludes for them to have alone time away from her sons, even with the help, something still always gets in the way. Not only that but when Bruge’s mother meets Alexa for the first time she attacks her and announces she’s not worthy of her son. Plus a couple of way too persistent Ferlaern end up putting Alexa in danger. Alexa and Bruge have a lot to contend with, but they don’t give up on each other.
It's Bruge and Alexa's turn and, huh, everything certain conspires to keep those two from getting together, doesn't it? Their friends and clanmates try to set them up (on multiple occasions) and they just...don't happen. Until, you know, they do.
But before they get there, they're working on settling into their winter (summer? I forget!) homes and dealing with potential food shortages and, well, things are a little chaotic. Not to mention Alexa's twins are a handful. So when I say these two get culier-blocked, I MEAN IT.
Which isn't to say they don't find time (eventually) to get handsy. They do. It just takes time and patience and a little, tiny abduction to get there. Abduction and seduction, amirite?!?!
A little danger (not cool!), a newfound family, baking, building, and steamy kisses whenever these two can grab a few minutes to themselves. *thumbs up*
Bruge is a warlord trying to keep his clan safe from the Duskhorde's. He meets one of the Earthling female and his second heart starts to beat. He ends up with a maelstrom tattoo on his shoulder. He will win her love and the love of her two son's. Alexa took a chance going to another planet to start a new life with a Ferlaern warrior. Once she meets Bruge she knows that he will love her and her sons. Their courtship was really interesting as they had to find time to court without her sons around. I love how his mother finally comes to accept Alexa as a mate for her son, Bruge. There is action, a kidnapping, the animals that are very diversified and the love and acceptance the Ferlaern's and Humans have for the different customs they bring to each other. Highly recommend. Alexa a widow with 3 year old twins, travels from Earth to the Planet Ferlaern to start a new life and find a new mate. She doesn't expect a love match, just a gentle man who will be a good companion and a good father to her boys. What she didn't expect was how she felt about Bruge, a handsome but scarred, strong but gentle, warlord. When he sees her, his second heart starts beating and he knows he has met his fated maelstrom mate. But it seems almost everyone and everything is against these two getting together. But, they are stubborn fated mates. The book is well paced, steamy, full of action, and a few twists and turns. These two are my favorite couple so far. "Our cultures spanned two opposite sides of a wide river, and I couldn’t quite make out the other side."
Bruge has eyes for only one human woman... she happens to be perpetually busy caring for her three year old twin sons.
Alexa's world revolves around her sons, but maybe, just maybe it is time she loosened her hold, let others help her more, protected her sons less... and in the process hovered over them less? Maybe?
Part of what really made these two characters work for me was how they cared about others, not just those of their species or clan, but everyone, or almost everyone, in the community. This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read was a fun story about a community growing, evolving, and adapting... phasing from a nomadic hunting and gathering lifestyle towards a more settled farm oriented life.
Alexa and Bruge's Story . . .
Alexa has no prospect on Earth to find another husband. So for the sake of her twin boys, who needed a father figure, she signed up for the Ferlaern program. Bruge knew as soon as he met Alexa that they were mates. His second heart beat for her and a maelstrom tattoo appeared on his shoulder. She and her two younglings would become his family, but finding time to court his woman was difficult when he must keep his clan safe from the Duskhordes.
This was a good story line and I loved the humor as well as the cultural information we learn. There was a great deal of feelings in the story and it convinced me that, if they ever got together, their union would be a happy one. Grab your copy and see if it works out for them.
This was an engaging and well-written story by one of my favorite authors. This book 3 in The Fated Mates of the Ferlaern Warriors Book Series was intriguing with very well-thought out scenes, characters and storyline. These characters have unique wills, personalities and believable interactions. This intriguing story has the following: twists, turns, adventure, action, danger, love, steam and a HEA. It is a well-paced and engaging from start to finish. This standalone, full-length romance has on-the-page heat, aliens who look and act alien, a guaranteed happily ever after, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.
Earth women and aliens. The women find new worlds—the men find mates they never thought they would find.
There is action, suspense and tension as these women navigate their newfound lives. Emotions run high as they confront their circumstances, dealing with the conflicting feelings of fear, hope, and longing. The presence of strong alpha males adds another layer, as they vie for the attention of these Earth women, leading to moments of romance and interesting encounters.
Amidst the challenges, there’s also an undercurrent of playful interactions, as the women learn to assert their own identities and desires in this strange new world. Overall, it’s a captivating blend of love, action, and adventure that keeps you engaged from beginning to end.
Bruge is an alien warlord and Alexa is a single mom with twins, who signed up to be an alien bride. Her heart is set on Bruge and his on her, but the matchmaking between themselves and his group is so funny as everything they try falls flat. His mother is also not happy with her being human and givves them almost more trouble than the invaders. The characters are well written with great backstories and intense feelings for those around them. The storyline has plenty of drama, twists, surprises and romance. Very well done story with some people mixing in from other books in the series.
This is book 3 of the series, Fated Mates of the Ferlaern Warriors. This book can be read as a standalone but is much better if read as part of the series. Ms. Ross introduces the main characters of this story - Alexa, her sweet, energetic twins and Bruge - in book one, peeks at their budding relationship in book 2, and then fully explores their relationship in this story. The story is funny, heartwarming and with a sliver of drama.
Ava Ross has taken us on another adventure with the Ferlaern and it is the best written book of this series! I LOVE when an author explores relationships with older women or single mothers. The reality of single parent searching to find romance is beautifully written here between Bruge and Alexa. Ross continues to write strong women characters into her work and I applaud her. Add the trundiers and a dog like creature named Fluffy and you have story perfection. ( I’m an animal lover) I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS TEN STARS! Written prose at its best here! Enjoy!❤️❤️
I simply love this authors’ writing style. Although this is a book in a series, it can easily be read as a standalone as there is such a great overview of the story up until this point. I really enjoyed Bruge and Alexa and the interesting path they take to get to know each other. Extended family and friends really do make things complicated! I really enjoyed the world building with wonderful detail descriptions of the environment, characters and creatures. A thoroughly enjoyable fantasy read!
