In his authorial debut Aaron R. Tyler produced this edge of your seat crime thriller that you can't put down. There is a serial killer terrorizing the largely rural twin tiers region of Pennsylvania and upstate New York. He enjoys conversation and torture, and leaves behind a calling card. Each of his victims are marked with the letters CR. He is always one step ahead of the police as he kills those who have names from characters in Stephen King novels. When the FBI gets involved, he now has to outsmart the elite team of agents hand picked for the task force trying to track him down. The question is, can they stop him before he makes another brutal and gruesome murder?
Aaron Tyler was born and raised in the small farming community of Mosherville, PA. After graduating from Troy Area Senior High School he served in the United States Navy for twenty-six years, eventually retiring as a Chief Hospital Corpsman. Following his Naval career he became a Physician Assistant and worked in the field of Neurosurgery. He wrote his first novel, THE STEPHEN KING KILLER at the age of 56. He is married and lives with his wife in Florida.
Following along with FBI agents to learn the identity of the serial killer had me turning pages late into the night, and once I knew the identity, I had to keep reading to see how it would all play out. The characters are relatable and well developed. I can’t wait to read the next book so I can go on another intense journey with the main character.
This fast-paced thriller was chock-full of suspense and incredible horror. As we followed FBI Detectives track down the labyrinth of clues left by the diabolical killer, the author kept ramping up the level of tension, increasing the requisite conflict, turning up the high stakes and unexpected twists at every turn. It did not disappoint this reader as the author challenged the characters in the novel - throwing out curveballs left and right! THIS “constant reader” found herself cringing and it was difficult to process the level of fresh hell each new murder wrought. The author deftly delved into the mind of a madman, a serial killer who literally stripped the life of the victims down to the bone and toyed with them like a cat with a mouse. This thriller will take readers on a roller coaster ride that will leave them on the edge of their seats.
The people of the Twin Tiers region of New York and Pennsylvania have a problem. There is a serial killer among them and no one, least of all law enforcement, realizes it... Victims are piling up: tortured, sexually assaulted and marked by the killer. When an overheard conversation makes FBI agent Joe Thorogood suspect that a murder he investigated may be connected to another, the FBI gets involved to understand the scope of the killings and track down the killer. The killer, however, takes great care to hide their tracks and keep the investigators guessing.
Tyler delivers a fantastic story and wonderful characters. The investigators are dedicated, determined and all too human (and, apparently, none of them are Stephen King fans!). The victims are desperate and helpless. And the killer is intelligent, horrifically inventive, and merciless.
After reading this story you may want to think twice about naming a child after a favorite character in a movie or book...
This book was not terrible, but I don't recommend it due to the gruesome descriptions of the violence of the serial killer. I didn't find it here, but I listened to the Audible version. It is the only audiobook I've listened to which is read by Virtual Voice (AI, I assume). While it is remarkably good, the problems with it are very annoying: the pronounced acronyms and initials, and the frequently odd delivery of lines. I won't listen to another until it has been improved.
It's a fun murder mystery, laughable that the FBI agents couldn't put together that the victims' names were the same as characters from SKs books. They hang a lantern on it when their boss dresses them down. That was good. I hope the next books in the series will point out that the solution was a bit "too easy." I mean, come on!!! But I look forward to more from this author and his next book.
I picked this up because the author is in a Facebook group I'm in, and posted promoting the book. I love the story, it held my interest and kept me turning the pages. The premise was great. I could tell that this was a first novel, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a great story. I've already recommended it to several friends.
I actually thought this story was pretty gosh darn good. But the obligatory romance/sex relationship struck me as cheesy and unnecessary, and so must be penalized. Geez, I wish ‘they’ would stop scribbling that ish in what is a good story without it. I listened to this on Audible, and it was narrated by Virtual Voice. So you know you got a good story when even a virtual narrator can’t ruin it.
Aaron Tyler knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. He keeps you involved with the characters like you know them and experiencing what they are going through. I turned each page waiting and yearning for more. Buy this book! You will not be disappointed!!
I'm a huge Stephen King fan. When I noticed this book ,I ordered it. Two days ago I started reading it and now it's finished. It's a great and thrilling story. Once you started reading it's not easy to stop. You want to know what happens next A REAL PAGETURNER. Theo Valkenburg Netherlands
This book was the best one I have read in a long time. It is a page turner in the best way. The twists and turns it takes are fabulous. The imagery it portrays is wonderful and totally brings the scene to life in your mind. I am now starting the sequel- Predator Hunters. I can't wait to read it.
This was a beautifully paced book, full of nuance and twists and turns. The characters were so intriguing and brought to life. It is not quite a horror novel, but provides just the right amount of chills and suspense.
Amazing book!!! Different enough to keep my interest with enough twists to keep me turning the pages for more. The imagination and creativity and actual believability of the author makes this book one of the best reads I have had in awhile!!! Can't wait for more!!!
Well written crime suspense story. The characters were beliveable and moved quite fluidly. A surprise ending. You won't be disappointed. Graphic deaths though so heads up!
I have known Aaron for almost 20 years and wow. I read this book in one day. Just could not put it down. Keeps you on the edge just waiting. The suspense is awesome. Can't wait for the next one. Way to go Aaron.
This was a great story. It was evident that it was his first novel, but the story was great. I really enjoyed it, and am going to read his next novel. I could not put this book down. I read it in two days.
This book definitely had me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had it figured out Aaron threw in another twist and turn. It's a great book. He does an excellent job describing his characters and the story line. Looking forward to reading the next book.
Very well written and entertaining, suspenseful and full of details. The first chapter was triggering for me personally, after taking a break for a few days, I went back and continued reading. I am going to start the second book in the series, Predator Hunters, this evening.
I was recommended this book by a friend. I loved every page of it, each time I picked it up it was harder to put down. Great Story! I am continuing on to the sequel Predator Hunters now. Can't wait to read what happens next! 😀
It was ok. Kind of long winded. And the author definitely needs a proof reader. The spelling and punctuation errors are too numerous to mention. Also, the ending was a bit anti-climactic and really didnt make sense to me
This was the most infuriating read! From the murders to the ducking detectives. But I loved it. It pissed me off that not a one of those fucking detectives were THINKING!!! When the pieces started "falling into place".
Right off the bat you are treated to an urealistic conversation, a narcissistic rant, followed by the rape and murder of a woman. Definitely not a good read.
