He was like my brother. I never meant to fall for him. But you can´t choose who you. Even when everyone´s against it.
Remy was my protector. At least, that’s how I always saw him. The brother I never had. Till we got drunk one night and things took a very un-brotherly turn.
His sharp blue eyes went from sweet to mesmerizing, and his lips suddenly turned very, very kissable.
I still don’t know what I was thinking.
All I know is that it was the best night of my life.
But Remy was so messed up. No way would he ever remember what happened.
So I pretended like it hadn’t changed my life.
But pretending and forgetting are two different things.
This book is terrible!! This girl sleeps with her best friend brother the night his best friend dies. He doesn't remember it but she does and obviously can't forget about it but he slept with different women the following nights. He remembers like two years later that they did it and he feels bad but he still continues to sleep with a lot of women. Finally he confronts the heroine about it she refuses to talk about it and he goes and sleeps with someone else again. At this point I was like I'm out, this guy is disgusting!
0.5 star or less DNF Seriously, should you ever think of reading this book, take my advice and just don't.
I tried hard to find something, anything remotely positive about this so called book. And apart from the cover, I got nada.
1. The writing style is so freaking bad, I wanted to cry.
2. The storyline is so dreadful I wanted to cry some more.
3. The heroine is so mind-numbingly stupid that after a while my cries of frustration turned into a hysterical laughter.
4. The hero is even dumber the the heroine. Although, frankly speaking I wouldn't think that would be possible. Silly me.
5. It all felt like a badly-written first draft from a middle school girl who just discovered her lady bits and got really horny.
6. Thank fuck that was free on amazon. I would be seriously pissed off had I had to pay for this shitshow.
7. Whoever thought this books was worth publishing after reading the script, should lose their job.
Summing up, it was so bad that I deleted it from my kindle. If you don't believe me, check some of my highlights and my notes. That should be a solid proof that I ain't kidding here. I give it 0.5 star for the cover and that's about it. lol
The more I read of this book the worse it got. It was riddled with grammatical errors and mistakes and there were some real timing issues. As an example, in the epilogue 3 years later, it said they had a one year old daughter Maisie, and Celia was 5 months pregnant. At the end of the book when she gave birth to their son, Maisie was suddenly 3 years old. There were several incidents where the timings were questionable. On top of that, I found the writing style quite juvenile and it didn't flow well. As a final criticism I found the story to be sickly sweet and repetitive at times.
Character Chemistry: They say they’re into it, so I guess that must be true
Plot: This is where things really fell apart.
Overall: If you like books with sexist overtones and a flat plotline, go for it.
Ok so–I get that people like different things. So I’ll keep my personal opinion until the end. This first part here will just delve into the actual writing style and plot.
The author writes flatly–there’s no build, no ambiance, no scene setting. She just spills the whole plot like she’s relating some piece of gossip about people you don’t know or care about in a monotone. (At one point I felt like Napoleon Dynamite wrote it.) I’m being picky here, and I do apologize–but it just didn’t engage me at all. To give a clear picture of this flat plot, I’ll just say that the author keeps talking about the deaths of people who are supposed to have been quite close to the main characters and every single time she could show some degree of actual emotion or character development she cops out by saying something along the lines of “but I knew I had to move on, so I did.” Okay, but HOW? Are these people sociopaths? How do they sleep around willy-nilly and engage in “activities” around the guy’s mom and have people dying without any complicated feelings? It’s bordering on creepy.
Okay, so here’s the part that is my personal opinion–
This book is blatantly sexist. The main male character, Remy, tries to sleep with this girl he’s supposedly completely in love with, gets turned down, and immediately goes and sleeps with a one-night-stand unapologetically. He even pulls the “I thought of you the whole time!” move. Gross.
Remy’s mom is the quintessential perfect housewife who has her one negative moment wrinkling her nose and criticizing fuel-efficient cars. Wha…Why? The author practically goes into rapture about how positive and supportive this woman is but this saint can’t find something nice to say about a fuel-efficient car? This moment stuck out in a jarring and awkward way.
Remy’s job is demanding of his time and is creative, and the author talks about it like he’s making some kind of sacrifice for the good of the couple and their future. But Celia is a writer and also has a creative job that requires long hours and Remy “convinces” her to blow it off on multiple occasions. Because, like, she can’t handle it. Her heavy uterus requires frequent naps and trips to the spa.
If you’re okay with rampant grammatical errors and characters that you kind of don’t even actually like (so basically if you’re just in it to read sex scenes), go for it. I was not impressed.
This was an enjoyable read. Remy and Celia have been friends for a long time. They decide to sleep together. As time went on they both realize that they never got over each other. Remy isn't exactly relationship material but with Celia he was willing to try. Of course in the end they get their HEA.
Remy has always been a playboy and everyone just accepts that about him. He’s also been very protective of his younger sister Brin and her best friend Celia. Also he can’t help but notice as Brin changes from a girl to a woman.
Celia has always been a little shy. He first real crush was on Remy her BFF’s older brother. She never expected anything to happen since they were practically family but after one drunken night they find comfort with each other.
Years pass and nothing more happens but there’s no denying the chemistry and connection are still strong. Celia tried to fight it but eventually gives in.
Mia Ford does a great job captivating the reader as she explores the building relationship between Celia and Remy and all the challenges and obstacles along the way. Once I started this book I wasn’t able to put it down until I finished. If you enjoy her writing this is a must read!
I received an advanced copy of this story and am leaving a voluntary and honest review.
Here we have lots and lots of love, quite some +18 scenes, lots of family and again some more love. This story is romance through and through and oh so sweet at times. Of course it does not ruin anything that there is HEA with all that love, but of course along the way there is pain as well and tension so it is not all smooth sailing. I really enjoyed reading this one and that it always the ultimate goal to reading a book. I can at least recommend this story like so mnay previous ones from this author.

Sometimes everything happens for a reason and this story reflects that. I truly liked everything about this story and the essence of how sometimes you can't prevent the feeling of love, sometimes it just spurts out of nowhere and implants itself deep within your heart ♡
This was a wonderful read and I enjoyed it very much and I bet you will too :)
This book had such great potential but it was all over the place. skipping months in a matter of paragraphs. I feel like the author was trying to cram way to much into the book. There was no real build up of the characters. I was disappointed because it could have been a really good read.
Celia was getting ready to go to a party with her best friend, Brinley. She was staying with Brin’s family for the summer. Brin’s older brother, Remy, was coming home and would also be at the party. Celia had always had a crush on him for years now and wasn’t sure how she would feel seeing him again. The party was packed with people and Celia bumped into a hard body as she looked for the restroom. Looking up, she was surprised to find it was Remy – but not as surprised as he was to see what a beautiful young woman she had grown into. Remy didn’t think she remembered what had happened in their past, just as Celia thought he had also forgotten.
Remy’s friend had been killed in a car accident and he did not take it well. After the funeral, he drank heavily and asked her to take him to a hotel rather than let his family see him in that condition. Celia helped him up to his room and he kissed her, grateful that she was always there for him; but in his condition, the kiss was more than intended and she allowed him to find comfort with her that one time and then fall asleep. He was so drunk she was sure he would not remember what they had done. But although neither of them mentioned it, neither had forgotten a memory that apparently meant more to them than they would admit.
As Remy starts to remember parts of that night of the funeral and what Celia was willing to do to comfort him, he wants to explore their feelings for each other. He had been attracted way before the funeral but were too young to act on it. However, Celia keeps pushing him away until he can answer her one question – does he want her for more than a one-night stand? She can’t be that for him now. It has to be for real. Will he finally realize how deep his feelings go? How they always understood each other when no one else could? If they can’t get a solid, strong relationship to hold onto, they may not be able to survive the arrival of Remy’s cheating ex who is ready to tear his life apart to get him back!
This was a well-written book that led the reader through this emotional story line. The author wisely helps the reader to realize how the family was so important to Celia, taking her in after her parents died. Even her own mother and Remy’s mother recognized that the two of them were meant for each other, with Remy protective of her for her entire life. Fear of losing that close family held Celia back. Would she risk it and allow herself to love him openly? Was he ready to accept that she was the one he had wanted from the start? Hang on for an emotional ride!

Celia has had a rough life. Her father died in a car crash when she was younger. Her friend Brinkley’s (Brin) family was always their for her. Her mother dies years later from a car crash also. Brian’s family was all she had. One night Brin and Celia went to a party and who did Celia bump into no other than Remy. She was shocked to see him. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. Remy’s best friend died in a car crash and Celia was their to console him. She played designated driver while she let him drink to ease his pain. They spent the night together and Celia slipped out the hotel room and went back to the house. She was hoping he would not remember that night. Remy was dealing with a cheating ex and backstabbing friend. He found them together and it torn his life apart. He didn’t tell his family what happened. He kept dreaming of Celia and was not letting her get away this time. She always had a crush on Remy. She just didn’t want to hurt or let her family down. She knew his reputation band didn’t know if she handle that. Things started to change for them. They were finally together and told the family. Things were going great between them until his ex Amy shows up at an interview where Remy works. Amy is nothing but trouble and she is selfish. She will what she has to to get Remy. Remy is happy with Celia and wants nothing to do with Amy. She hurt him badly and thinks she can win him back. This was an emotional book. I loved the story line. I read how these characters have grown and overcome their grief, heartache and their love grew stronger.

This is my first Mia Ford book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a Best Friend's brother romance and well written. I love to try new authors and enjoy the books.
Remington has grown up with Celia in his house most of the time. She was best friends with his sister and after her father died, her mother traveled a lot and she stayed with his family and was practically another sister. Practically. But not quite. He was painfully aware of her beauty as she grew into a mature young lady but never acted on it. Until his defenses were down one night after his best friend was killed in a car crash. Celia's mother had recently died. They both found comfort in each other's arms and never spoke of the incident again. Celia thought Remy was too drunk to remember.
When Remy comes back home a few years later, Celia finds out he does remember that night and still has feelings for her as she does for him. But can they explore them without testing up the family? And what about when Remy's ex moves to town to rekindle their romance? Can their new found love handle her intrusion?
Like I said I did enjoy this book, I felt like the ex girlfriend was explained away too easy and I had been waiting for a big moment (crazy act) from her that didn't happen. I felt let down. It could have had a bit more drama and been a really great book. Thus the four stars. I will read more from this author.
This story was very simple. It follows Remy and Celia as they embark on the journey of lifelong love. Celia grew up with her best friend, Brin and her fami!y which included her older brother, Remy. Celia and Remy have always had a fantastic relationship until suddenly their relationship changes from being like siblings to something else altogether. Celia thinks he doesn't remember and acts like it never happened. Several years later it finally gets acknowledged and they both embark on the journey of a lifetime that changes their lives for the better. The blurb was misleading with the sentence that everyone was against the relationship when in the actual story everyone was overjoyed about it. There was no conflict in the story that needed resolving. The only thing that causes a little upset was the appearance of a ex-girlfriend. But that is very quickly removed due to the open communication evident in their relationship. Remy is aware of how things can cause difficulties and takes steps to eradicate them. It was really sweet. It felt like.a simple story about a couple who are meant for each other. The story moved way too fast and some details were stated without being explained. a nice simple sweet story that was thoroughly enjoyable.
First and foremost, I am definitely a huge fan of the writing style of Ms. Ford. I never truly pay attention to the negative reviews and always form my own opinion. That being said, I really do not understand some of the negative reviews.
Celia and Remy are the key characters in this captivating romance. Family is an important part of the plot and these characters are written to perfection. You can 'feel' their emotions throughout this release. That, to me is talent, however, it is the creation of this addictive storyline that pulls you right in. These two characters have a past, only this playboy doesn't remember, and she has never forgotten. They have chemistry and love between them but is that enough to overcome the forbidden? Can they ever get their happily ever after? Find out here in this superbly designed book.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Accidental Love in exchange for my honest/voluntarily given opinion and I highly recommend this book as well as anything written by Ms. Ford. Personally, it is my opinion that Ms. Ford is at the top of her craft and she continually impresses me.
Not what I expected. Not at all. Well written story with a nice storyline and plot. I like that the characters are well described and how they develop. A passionate and emotional read with twists. Enjoyable and recommendable.
It annoyed me a lot that he kept sleeping with different woman all the time. Despite what their feelings were he went from bed to bed. That is not my thing but luckily he changes at a point. I know he has been cheated on but it is still not okay to have that behavior. It hurt him a lot and he has to deal with it so he can have his HEA. Celia slept with Remy years ago and still has feelings for him. But he hurts her with his actions. Can they get through this and have their HEA together?
It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. The epilogue is very welcomed and gives the story more to it and it finishes it better of than without it. There are passion, drama, friend issues, betrayal, hot scenes and lots of chemistry in this story.
Such an enjoyable read about two people that come together at a stressful time in there lives and for one night make each other feel good but one will remember it all but the other is not sure it was real. After some time Remy is heading home after a terrible breakup with girlfriend and his best friend and business partner after catching them together. Brinley his sister is heading home after graduating from college with Celia who has lived with them after her parents died. Now they are all together again under one roof and nothing has changed between Remy and Celia the chemistry is still there and the more time he is around Celia he knows that what he thought was a dream is real they had spent the night together and Remy wants more but he is a playboy in her eyes and he used to be and Celia doesn’t need that in her life but can he change for her she is not so sure but she wants to believe in him. Can they make it work and will everyone happy for them, read this great book you will love it.

Celia and Remy have been friends since childhood with Celia always thinking Remey was like the brother she never had, his sister Brin is her best friend. Then one night everything changed they went from being friends, quasi-siblings, to lovers - the only thing wrong with that was that the next day Remy had no memory of there time together. I won't go into details that would involve too many spoilers. Suffice to say Celia never forgot their night together and now she has just one question for Remy does he want her? Because she certainly wants Him!
There was so much emotion in this book that I laughed and cried, the characters all have depth and are really well drawn. The chemistry between Celia and Remy is palpable and hot with steamy sex scenes from the beginning this book is one you will not want to miss.
Remy and Celia grew up together along with Remy’s sister Brin. Remy and Celia hooked up one night when his best friend died. A couple years later they are at Remy’s and Brin’s parents’ house to stay, each looking for a career choice. Along the way, Remy and Celia hook up again but want to keep it a secret until they could not anymore. Everyone was pulling for them and very happy. Then the real reason Remy left Seattle came back to haunt him. He would have to tell Celia, but he worried it would cause many issues. This book has steamy scenes and takes the reader on the journey of one happy family who is blessed all the way around. It has a HEA for everyone! This book is awesome – it is touching, dealing with tragedy and finding love. Celia lost both her parents before graduating college, but she always had her secondary family which was of her best friend Brin. Remy is Brims brother and he also lost his best friend during high school and Celia helped him cope as she knew best. They had a crush on each other but didn’t act on it as they thought it would not be accepted. Years later, they go back home, and the feelings are still there, but baggage from Remy’s past may jeopardize what they think might be their future.
This was well thought out and I loved that it made me laugh and cry with some of the touching memories. This was a page turner with beautiful descriptions of the beach life. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved this story between Celia and Remy. Celia is a strong woman who doesn't need a man to make her stronger. She lived through her parents death and making decisions to better herself as she became an adult. Celia was taken in by her best friend, Brinley's family, when she didn't have anyone else. Remy, Brinley's brother, is considered a brother to Celia even though she is secretly in love with him. Years later, Remy returns home to find Celia visiting his family after she graduated from college. Celia is hoping Remy doesn't remember when they slept together when he was drunk. Remy would like a relationship with Celia but she doesn't think he is serious because he has a revolving door of women. Remy must try his hardest to break down Celia so she knows that he is serious and the man for her.
Second chance romance. Told from both MMC and FMC POV.
Celia lost her parents and was taken in by her best friends family. During her grief her best friends brother Remy experienced a lost of his best friend. They share a night together that they don’t speak of again. Now both back in Remy’s childhood home with her best friend and their family they reconnect. Romance between the two is very “fluffy” sex is also “fluffy” with a lot of reference to making love. The drama is a ex coming back into the picture and Celia feeling insecure.
My rating system 5 stars- OMG it impacted my life. I must tell everyone I know. 4 stars- Damn….that was really good 3 stars- Kept me interested but needed a bit more. 2 stars- Disappointed wish it had been better 1 star- Wasn’t very good but finished for closure. No Stars- DNF gave it my best try.
This is one beautiful love story about Remy a man who likes woman and takes his time before he changes his ways and Celia who is his sister’s, Brin’s best friend who has lost both parents at a young age and a member of their family. I would say they fell in love slowly over the years and Celia feels it more then Remy. One night after a tragedy both Celia and Remy spend the night together and Remy was drunk with no memory of it until several years later. Celi has graduated from college and taking the summer to figure things out when Remy returns home and confronts her about their one night together. These two childhood friends take a journey into love and figure out how to make it work. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a great story. Sometimes what you think is a mistake and you just wanted to forget about it, turns out to be pushing you in the right direction. Celia is taking a break after college is over and trying to figure out what to do next. Remy is back home after things didn’t work out for him in Seattle. He is looking for a fresh start and move on. They have always been the best of friends, but things are heating up. The characters bring so much life and emotions to the story with their back stories and complex histories. The emotional ups and downs bring you along for the ride to feel and experience this journey with them. It is a great read.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book on BookSprout. It’s been a while since I’ve read Mia Ford’s books and she did not disappoint with this one. I loved it. Remy and Celia were amazing. Celia was taken in by Brinley and Remy’s family when she lost her mother and they became her new found family, but when the attraction to Remy started she was unaware that he was just as attracted to her. One night, grieving and the need for each other takes over everything changes. Years apart made no difference the attraction and need still there. Obstacles and his past come back to haunt them and could spoil any reunion they had planned. No spoilers here it’s a great read, I highly recommend it.
