About the author

I'm a mom of four, Air Force wife, and author of adult and young adult dystopian, post-apocalyptic, and science fiction. I love intense world building and character driven stories that feature strong female leads - as well as a side of romance - and any end of the world scenario. Zombies, aliens, a distant future where people have no clue how the world ended in the first place, you name it, I will create a story there!

Having lived in a lot of different places after more than a decade as an Air Force wife, I love setting my books in cities I've actually lived in to give them authenticity. I've resided in: Indiana, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, California, and Oklahoma but am currently back in my home state of Ohio where I live with my husband, four kids, two dogs, and three cats.

When I'm not writing, you can find me by my pool (in the summer), getting lost in some binge-worthy show or at a play with my husband, patronizing one of the great restaurants in my small town of Troy, Ohio with my family, or traveling. I want to see everything and make a point of visiting a new place every year!

Some of my favorite books are The Hunger Games, Pride and Prejudice, The Host, and The Stand. My favorite movies are Aliens, Jaws, Signs, Say Anything, Everything Everywhere All At Once, and The Greatest Showman.

Twisted: The Complete Box Set was a great read by Kate L. Mary. This box set consists of; Twisted World, Twisted Mind, Twisted Memories, and Twisted Fate. Twisted World: A Broken Worls Novel: Twisted Book One was a great read by Kate L. Mary. The world's population has been ravaged by a deadly virus that spread twenty years ago. Many people had died and came back as zombies. Megan is a product of two survivors that crossed the country to go to Atlanta for a real future twenty years ago. Meg's father has now vanished and they unfortunately presume that he is dead and her mom has began to lose it. Meg just wants to be safe but Atlanta isn't as safe as everyone believed. She gets a job at a club where she meets Donaghy, a convict fighter. Their path's crossed and now he can't turn his back on her. Meg is faced with the reality that her father may be alive and her father may be alive. Her and Donaghy search for the truth. Twisted Mind: A Broken World Novella was a good quick read by Kate L. Mary. Jackson has always wanted to rule the new world. He and his father don't want to keep humanity alive. Jackson has a really dark evil inside him. As Jackson's plans start to happen, things start to unravel. His plan for Meg isn't working because she isn't cooperating. This was a good look into Jackson's disturbing brain. Twisted Memories: A Broken World Novel: Twisted Book Two was another great read by Kate L. Mary. Angus woke up in a sterile room twenty years ago with no idea where he was. Doctor's decide to use him as a pincushion to manipulate the virus seeing as he is immune. Angus fought hard to stay alive although his life was pained as a prisoner to the CDC. This book brings you back twenty years to the memories of Angus' years as a prisoner. You find out how Angus becomes a father and eventually obtains his freedom. Twisted Fate: A Broken World Novel: Twisted Book Three was a great read by Kate L. Mary. Meg has discovered that not only is her long lost uncle Angus alive but so is her father. Meg and her family are forced to leave New Atlanta but knows that they must go back to the CDC to free her dad and Donaghy. Jackson decides to release Donaghy but with a twist. I enjoyed this book and finding out what happened to the survivors. I really enjoyed Meg and Donaghy's story and can't wait to read more by the author.

This made me think this would be an amazing zompoc movie. The whole thing. The swagger that Angus has still after all these years. The everything about it. Amazing! I read it as the box set and read all the books before and it’s all been awesome. Just amazing and vivid. So much sex though! That’s a good thing for some of us reading! I fell in love with each character for different reasons and in different ways. Naivety being one. Swagger and nicknames. The grey eyes. Blondie’s need to never give up. Jim being able to find a bed to keep warm. Good James almighty, it’s awesome! This author and these books are really great!! Even through all the twists and turns, ups and downs…even after she kills off someone you like…you want more! You still love this author and her thought process!! Using The Walking Dead series/set as a tie in, of sorts, to the survivors wasn’t something I would have thought anyone would have done. Or tying in other zompoc books. Brilliant!

Good plot

The plot fits the traditional zombie recipe. The characters aren’t well developed and as they get more developed, they change character in unbelievable ways. The sociopathic doctor doesn’t make any sense at all and is completely unbelievable. Nobody is that sociopathic without severe abuse. Nobody recovers from that severity without legal force and long term therapy. There are so many characters that are developed in an unbelievable way that it would be too much to write. The characters that are developed the best die.
