The 7-Day Chakra Challenge

I have worked with the chakras for over 30 years, since I became a Reiki master. I'm always interested in other people's take on this ancient energy system and how they work with it. This is one of the more unique spins I've read. In this book, the author has created a 7-day routine that goes along with the seven major chakras. Before he details the activities and considerations of the seven days, he discusses chakras in general, the concept of the week, how chakras reflect our needs as well as an idea I've never seen before, the concept of being a certain chakra personality... that is, you have one particular chakra with whose energy you identify with the most. The instructions for each day, starting with the root chakra on Monday, are quite involved. Frankly, it's hard to imagine reading and doing all he says on a workday, which Monday is for a lot of us. I could see fitting bits and pieces into a workday, but not everything... especially for me, as I work a 12-hour day. The author suggests you start and repeat this 7-day chakra cycle each week. What he suggests you do each of the days could certainly lead to a more balanced and fulfilling life. He has you focus on important things in life, from smaller to larger concepts, from the concrete to the esoteric, from the physical to the emotional to the mental to the spiritual. Ideally, to me at least, you should pick a peaceful week to do this cycle for the first time, and then you could figure out how to best incorporate what he suggests for each day into your busier normal life if you want to continue the practices in the future. At times I felt the book was too mired in modern buzzwords, like change, habits, and goal setting. To me, the study of the chakras goes so much deeper than whatever the current self-help buzzwords are. But if that doesn't bother you or you can get beyond it, this book is a fascinating take on an ancient concept.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

I am not familiar with chakras to the extent this books goes into explaining. I found it interesting and informative on how to incorporate into my daily life and could find that helpful. I think I need more exposure to really immerse myself in but will certainly give a try. Thank you #netgalley #shai tubali for this arc.

I lot of great life changing ideas to add meditation, journaling, and self-love to everyday. So much in here.... that if I can even add one thing to each day of the week... i would be thankful for the change this could make in my life. Great book.

Quick and easy read. Informative and a good source of mindfulness.
Author felt a little pretentious at times though.

I am familiar with the chakras, however this is my first deep dive into the chakras, and I found the history and understanding of the 7 day journey to be very useful. I also learned we each have a chakra personality type. How fascinating! This book divides the chakras into seven days, devoting a day specifically to each one, and it allows us to concentrate on making each chakra healthy, thus aiding to an overall balanced body and mind. The daily chakra work is divided into sections and you can do all of the sectional work, or choose what you need that day. There is a plethora of individual chakra information related to grounding, blessings, happiness, to-do suggestions, meditations, and so much more. To sum it up, there is a wealth of knowledge in this book that I found to be very educational, inspiring and above all, helpful!

Thank you to NetGalley and Llewellyn Publications for the ARC of this book.

This won't be for everyone, but looking at each day as a separate challenge to strengthen or balance one important type of energy in my life is a total game changer. Days no longer blend together - each one has its own goals, focus, joys, trials, ups and downs within a theme, without feeling overwhelmed by all the things I want to work on or explore. It was interesting to me to see what days I found most difficult (Day of Power) and I think especially reading this in the winter totally revitalized me. I dunno, I'll keep this up every week for as long as I want.
